Is it possible to change the Calendar 7.0 view to show 2 weeks instead of 1 week or month view. I find the month view is far too messy and the 1 week too short. To date I found the previous version more visibly user friendly
I have upgraded to Mavericks and have found the Calendar 7.0 not visually user friendly. The week view is too resrictive and the month view far too messy. Is there any way of editting the view, the ability to change the colour and thickness of the grid lines would at least help. This version of Calendar seems to be a retrograde step.
Agree. Positively loathe the new calendar display - each day blends into the next and I can't get my information at a glance. Looks like it's time to switch to BusyCal or Google Calendar.

I have bought 1 MacbookPor 17, 1 Macbook air, 1 MacbookPro 15 , 2 ipads, 3 iphones, and this iMac27 and 2 of iMAC24 or 20 not sure but I do not recall ever doing what you are telling me in your reply. When you get a extended car warranty, you don't sign up for it.. it is just there and is included in the sale. You don't buy this warranty to use it.. You buy it, in case something happens. Here a perfect iMAC with minimum 100 hour useage has a dead drive. That is not normal and I should not have to even be requesting anything since most MFG offer a 3-5 year warranty on their disc drives and I believe that is probably passed on to Apple regardless if an extended warranty is purchased or not. Customer service dictates a more flexible approach to make sure the lifetime value of a customer is not lost due to some misunderstanding.
I was in the MacStore that I purchased the unit..and they found and pulled the invoice and confirmed
the purchase of it in front of me. I had paid with credit card and fortunately it was there in their system. I do not also recall recieving any box or paper although most everything I ever get remains sealed.. I am not in the habit of opening anything since I have never encountered any serious issues before.
I have used my Macbookpro warranty 1 time and that is all throughout the years I have been investing in Apple equipment.
I just recieved a letter from the store asking me to get the paper to them so they can register it... I don't recall getting any paper actually. But I do have several boxes sealed here.. On this iMAC27, it was a hurry up and get it done thing and I don't remember taking anything extra with it. Regardless, my request does not seem unreasonable.

't' and 's' in font GFS Didot don't correspond to selected font size. 't' is too small, and 's' is too big. Can this be corrected?
GFS Didot is nearest listed MUSE font in appearance to Adobe Caslon Pro, which is the font used in the book which the website is intended to promote. I would like to use Adobe Caslon Pro (I paid for it and it's on my computer, but not in the cloud). We saw Further at Mcmenamins Edgefield on Friday and Saturday night in Portland Oregon. However, when I look at the 'Locations' tab in the Photo App, every photo shows that it was taken at Red Rocks Colorado. Further was there the week before Edgefield but me and my phone were not! I can only think of 2 ways that could happen - either Further/Mcmenamins was overriding the GPS signal or Apple was using some facial recognition to recognize the band and override the location.

Need to have the calendars on my iPhone to show up in iCal on my Mac.
Today I was at the area Apple store working with a Genius. I had two Apple IDs, one I had used for some time and a second created when I set up a Mobile Me account a couple of years ago. Because I had two IDs, syncing was all messed up. The genius led me through the process of essentially making one ID incactive (the Mobile Me ID) and having the other one be the primary one.
What we essentially did was to delete the old iCloud account associated with the Mobile Me ID and set up a new one. When the box showed up that said essentially, "If you move this Mobile Me account to iCloud, you will lose the calendar data on your Mac," he told me just to click it and proceed.
Everything with the syncing worked as it should. However, when I got back to the office, I found out that all my calendars on my Mac are now gone. I did some online searching on the Apple site and, duh, I realize what the box said, and that I should have backed up the calendars. But I was trusting the Genius, he had me clicking boxes in rapid fashion, and I just followed his advice. I assumed, He did NOT ask if I needed the data on those calendars and did I want to back up.
Because the calendars were associated with my old ID, the one that is now disabled, they are not active on either my Mac or the iCloud website. However, when I look on my iPhone, the old calendars associated with my old ID are still showing up. VERY GOOD. Now I just need to know how to get those calendars into iCal on iCloud and thus back on my computer.
When I touch the "Calendars" button at the top left of my monthly view screen on my iPhone and then can see the calendars that were associated with the old ID, the question I have is why they're even showing up on my iPhone at all, as it is also associated with the current ID and iCloud. But that is another issue. I just want to get them back onto my Mac. These are my major work/life calendars, and I don't need them to disappear. HELP!If the old account was or had been upgraded to an iCloud account as you seem to be implying, you should be able to add it back to your mac as a secondary account (system preferences > mail, calendars & contacts. This should cause both accounts calendars to show up in iCal (click the calendar button -top left corner- to confirm this. Then you should be able to copy the calendars across to your new account by following the instructions below.
Create a new empty calendar from the iCal file menu, select which account you want to create it in.
If you have only a few appointments you can move them individually by editing them and changing the calendar in the edit options.
Alternatively you can copy all the appointments in one calendar to another and delete the original.
To copy a calendar ctrl-click on it from the menu that appears when you select the calendar button (top left corner of iCal) and choose export (export it to your desktop for ease)
Double click the exported file and choose the new empty calendar to import them into.
Ctrl-click on the original calendar from the menu that appears when you select the calendar button and choose delete.
I'm guessing the reason your calendars show on your phone is because that account is enabled as a secondary account there. -
Help! I am giving away my iPhone 3Gs to my sister along with it's data plan. I want to delete all of my personal data on my phone, will it delete my data on iTunes too? And same goes for iCloud; I want to delete my acount on my phone because, I guess this is a more convenient way to delete my personal data but I'm not sure if it will delete my iCloud account too or not because I'm getting an iPhone 4S and I'm hoping, the back up data like games & apps and music on my 3Gs will be transfered to 4S.
Thanks!All you have to do is this: Sync your 3GS to create a current backup. Then either: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings or restore it as a "New" device in iTunes. Both accomplish the same thing, erasing all of your data & settings from the phone. You can now give it to your sister, she can plug it into her computer, name it what she wants & sync her content to it. You then restore your 4S from the backup of the 3GS you created when you started. Follow this by syncing your content to your new phone & your 4S will look just like your 3GS.

Another problem.....
When recording programmes I am frequently finding that the recording is starting way too early...5-10 minutes....and often ends too early (very annoying as one misses the end of a particular programme).

ThanksRecording should start 2 minutes before the scheduled start time and end 5 minutes after the scheduled stop time (by default - you can increase this).
The box won't automatically cope with programmes which start late. Are the programmes you're having a problem with starting on time?

I have noticed when I rent movies from iTunes on my Apple TV I find myself constantly adjusting the volume. It doesn't matter if I am using my tv speakers or my surround sound speakers. The action scenes are way too loud and I have to strain to hear people talking. Any suggestions?
