Is it possible to change the color of a layer of a Customs CSS from an External Style sheet?

Hi,
I have sucessfully link External .css  file to my HTML page and able to change the font size of the headlines and the paragraph.
What I am not able to do is to ADD the color my Custom CSS from the External sheet.  I have difined the color attribute as a 'Advance'
and gave it the same name "#bigwraper" that is has in my HTML file.
Attached is the color outline of my 'Blank Layout' with colors?
Thank you.

Hi Murray,
I am building a web site on which the entire content would be changed at least daily. The website would have similar design to www.Helium.com
The page will have CCS layout boxes in which different content would  be pasted.
To re-phrase my question:  I want to know how to change the color of a layer from an external style sheet?
Because my home page 'Sidebar' and colors would be the same for all page, only the content of different pages would be different.  If I want to change a color of my web side pages, I need to learn how to do it in one spot through an External Style Sheet.
I am amble to link my external style sheet and to change H1 tag and to give it different colors. But I was not sucess with change the color of a layer on which my content sits around.
I took out the color from my HTML page and gave the same name to the layer in my External Style Sheet with the same color.
Hope my question and the reason I was able to clarify.
cheers,

  • How do I change the default h1-h6 properties in a PHP "include" without an external style sheet?

The page looks fine online b/c it is embedded in a file with a style sheet but too small in development. I think this is a simple/stupid question but I can't find the solution. Thank you.

In DW, hit F1 (help) and look at Design-Time Style Sheets.  I use them quite often when a layout doesn't play nice with Design View.
Alternatively, go to View > Style Rendering > disable Display Styles to work with unstyled text.  Neither method effects the actual page in Live View or Preview.

Make a Shape > Inspector > Graphic > Tinted Image Fill > Scale to fit > browse to image > click on the color patch to change the color to what you want

Shapes may have Gradient and Advanced Gradient (multiple colors) fills both linear and radial. Both are in the Graphic Inspector as is Opacity.

  • Is it possible to change the color of my apple logo light

I have a macbook air and the apple lights up white, but I'm using F.Lux to help with backlight color temperature and the apple doesn't seem to change color even though the screen does. I thought the apple was controlled by the backlight?

The backlight does in fact light up the apple; however, the Flux application does not adjust the color (or brightness) of your backlight, it adjusts the color settings of your screen to make it appear warmer or dimmer. Which means your backlight brightness and color stays the same. I'd love if the letters had an amber/white LED instead of just white, and have that synced with flux, but oh well.

  • Possible to change the colors of the templates? Or not?

Regarding the style templates in iWeb '06:
I notice that each template family has a certain color. Modern is white, others are wheat colored, others light pastel green and blue. One of them is black and uses a white colored font.
    Question:
Is the color for each template style there to stay or is it changeable? I see that column size, box side, and font size, style and color are changeable but am suspecting that the color for the style of the page is not. Correct?
So this means that, say, if I want to change the Modern style template to be RED on one page, then I would have to paste a solid red photo on top of it and use that photo as a base upon which to add other things? Or what?

Well, lot of it has to do with the browser. Once the
browser background image is in the cache, it helps a
great deal; Firefox loads it pretty quickly; Safari
will not; Opera is 'middle-of-the-road'... (And I
don't even want to get into Internet Explorer!). If
your site is targeted towards the same group of
people, say a family site for example, and your pages
become established in their browser caches, then it's
not a problem. But if new people are visiting
frequently then the chances are they may never even
see your browser image. Again, this applies when
hosting with .Mac. I haven't had this problem
hosting to a remote server. .Mac is just plain slow
    to load.
And this becomes particularly exacerbated if the
design of the page is predicated on the browser image
you have chosen....again, the design possibilities
are endless as you can build upon your favorite
photo, but you really need a fast server to maximize
    the potential.
    --Ap
Dear Ap -- I must say that I have not understood what you wrote because I lack familiarity with some of the topics/concepts/terms that you mentioned. The browser issue went over my head, although I do understand about caches (I think). What I take away from what you said is that I had better not mess around with the clever procedures described for changing page color because the downside is worse than the advantage. I might take advantage of the clever techniques later on when I actually know what's going on. I am not at the Clever Techie stage yet.
