Is it possible to change the name of a photo in one album without changing the name in other albums?
I use the photos in events to create more than one album and I want to use a unique name in each album. When I change the name in one album, all instances of the photo also change.
Correct. Albums just reference the photos in an Event - it's why a pic can be in 50 albums and use no extra disk space. So, change one and you change all. The alternative is to duplicate the pic in the Event.

More information is necessary to give you an answer that applies to your specific situation.
1. What version of Premiere Elements is involved and on what computer operating system is it running now and on what computer operating system will it be running on the second (new) computer?
2. How did you set up your first computer....purchased online download from Adobe to Window 7 64 bit, followed by install there OR installation from Premiere Elements installation disc purchased in box packaging?
True, Adobe allows a purchased serial number for a given version to be activated on no more than 2 of your computers.
That is a critical consideration. But in itself that becomes moot if other factors do not fall into place.

I am simply wanting to “overlay” a new visual element without disturbing the underlying audio.
A classical way to do a Premiere Elements Overlay is to hold down the Ctrl key of the computer main keyboard and drag the new clip over the area of the one you want to replace on the Timeline. That should not do anything but replace one portion of the video on the Timeline. No change in duration video or audio track if you are dealing with video linked to audio.
If you hold down the Alt key of the computer main keyboard, I am envising a scenario where you want to add to (not replace) some Timeline content.
A just in case note, if you have video on Video 1 and 2 and the video in 2 does not have transparent areas in it, then all you will see is the Video 2 content. I believe that Hunt eluded to that concept as a possible technique for what you might be doing.

SMS Transferring/downloading/backup : Is there a way to download/port the missing data/SMS to one iPhone without overwriting the new SMS on the newer iPhone? Here is my dilemma. No, direct access to manipulating the phone's filesystem is not permitted for 3rd party apps in the iOS. It can't be done without hacking the phone, which you certainly don't want to do. The messages can be combined and viewed on your computer, but not on a single phone.

I have prepared a photo book, made a pdf and when I press "buy thhe book" it tells me that the book is missing photos on one ore more pages. The book does not miss any photos or text, all layouts are ok, the background color is ok. Can anybody help me?
You are missing one or more photos - youprobably have a page background that requires a photo which is behind a page with photos on it - all pages must either have a photo or be a color - if you have a gray background it requires a photo - look through the book carefully and be sure to look at the background on any full page photos - you will find one or more missing photos

Jordy.I don't know how to keep it from being put on the "Deleted Photos to Remove" list at least briefly, but if you do this, it'll amount to the same thing:
* save status for all photos in collection
* set status of all photos to "do not publish"
* remove photo from collection.
* publish the collection, and make sure you call the deleted callback, but don't do anything else.
* restore previous photo statuses.
Only works in Lr4+.

I appear to be one of thousands who are all expressing their outrage in a rational and intelligent manner which cannot be said for your lebvel 4 + collegues on this forum.
Finally there has been an ongoing issue wiith the iPad 3 Wifi on certain wifi only models , I have not encountered it and it seems clear neither have you. That of course does not discount the fact that many others have experienced this issue , an issue which may reveal itself to you or I in the future particularly as I have only been using mine for a fortnight.

Ya, okay ! I use a number of PSE programs, one of which is PSE 9. The tools for some reason seem to have frozen. When I use the move tool I don't get just one hand but 3 hand symbols all next to each other. Same thing with the crop tool, I don't get one symbol but 3 all next to each other. There are a couple of tools that just don't work at all. It's like the PSE 9 got hit with some virus or sorts. Oh well, live and learn. Trying to get through to tech service is next to impossible.

Photoshop Elements 9 is messed up.
The tools on Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 seemed to have frozen. The crop symbol is 3 of the symbols nest to each other. The hand move tool is not one hand but 3 next to each other. Other tools won't work at all. Really nice! -
I have successfully exported subtitles (XML files) from FC version 7 to FC version 6, by choosing Apple XML Interchange Format Version 4. Now the exported subtitles suddenly read in one long line, at the top, not registering any "Enter" keystrokes. The same happens even if I re-import the XML file into Final Cut Version 7 (from where I exported the subtitles). Any tips on how to fix this?

I have pre 08 iphotos saved on disk. When I try and open the disk in I photo on macbook pro I get the following message Unreadable file, The following file could not be imported.(The file is in an unrecognized format)
Here's a test you can run:
1 - copy a set of photos from the disk to a folder on the desktop.
2 - download and unzip the Automator workflow Convert to JPG and Embed sRGB profile. You can download it from Toad's Cellar.
3 - select the files in the folder and drag and drop onto the workflow app.
4 - try to import the resulting files.
