Is it possible to change the way SAP stores a DATE field ?

Hi,
I have a scenario here where I have to read from a file and then upload the contents to a custom table.
The file is comprised of several lines, each line being formatted to accomodate several fields, according to their length specifications. It's the "standard" string style to import/export files from one system to another.
My question is: one of these fields is a date field, and I am required to order the table, afterwards, by this date field. I notice it comes as DDMMYYYY, and my SORT is not working. If I use, on the other hand, dates in YYYYMMDD format, the SORT works perfectly.
Does SAP expects the date to come as YYYYMMDD ? Is there a way I can change this "default" format ?

Yes, SAP expects the date to come as YYYYMMDD, this is the internal format.
I am not sure you will be able to change the default DATS format to something else.
Other internal date format : GDATU as in table TCURF.
Sugestion : use offsets to convert original date to internal date format and keep doing your SORT as you already did.

The manual showed you the area to make changes in. As I stated earlier, it has to do with Regional formats. Just like some regions use the period between dates as well. The same is true for dates. In the US, we normally would show today's date as January 10, 2015. In many European countries, it would be 10 January 2015. The same is true for time. We generally use 12-hour format, many places use 24-hour format. How it is displayed on the phone is based on the generally accepted method for the region. If on the phone you go to Settings>General>Language & Region, you can see your regional format settings. If you go under Region Formats, tap on Advanced. That gives you the option to make some other changes if you like, rather than using the regional standards.

Itunes has changed the way it stores files over the years and now i am having trouble figuring out which files are where so I can back them up

I have backed up itunes by copying my itunes file to an external hard drive. I try to keep my large media files (like TV shows) in a separate folder so that I can keep my hard drive on my macbook from filling up. Problem is, apple has changed the way Itunes is organized and backs up over the years. Now I am having a hard time keeping straight what is where. When I go to support, it has different instructions for the various versions of itunes. I am using version 10 now but it seems like I can't see all my files within the itunes music or media folder. I want to get everything in one place so that I can easily back up, regardless of which version of itunes I am running at the time.
I have selected to let itunes organize my files. It keeps all the files I have purchased in one place apparently, but items I have imported don't seem to always be there.
How can I best sort this out?

I have, but if I don't have that particular external hard drive connected when my time machine backup hard drive is connected, then I don't think it is all backed up together. It is getting too complicated to get out all this equipment every time I want to buy some music.

Is it possible to change the dimension order when extracting data from HFM?

When accessing Consolidation/Extract/Data is it possible to change the dimension order of the extract rather than extracting the standard order?
I can see you can change the dimension order visually by going to "Reorder dimensions" but this does not carry through to the actual extract.
If its not possible using this method is there another method? Trying to avoid using smartview for this purpose.

How do I change the way itunes stores my music?

When I look at my music library in the finder my itunes music is stored totally different than the way I have it in my itunes source list. This is creating annoyances for using front row for me. I want front row to organize my music exacty as I have it in my itunes source list. I think this all shoud have something to do with the default way that itunes stores music. Anyone know how to change this?

Perhaps I'm not understanding your question, but Front Row should be displaying your music much as it is in iTunes.
You really shouldn't even have to concern yourself with the file structure that iTunes uses in it's library.

we are using Indesign (CS5.5) in a XenDesktop Invironment. Everytime when a user logoff the history of "last open files" are lost.
I think these Data are stored in %localappdata%\Adobe\... and get lost when logoff or reboot the VM.
Is it possible to redirect or change the destination?

These MRU lists are stored in the Registry and/or the user's prefs files. Naturally, if you reboot your VMs or the user hasn't permission to store them permanently, this info will be lost. You will have to use group policies and system variables to point to other locations outside the VM. Nothing to do with Adobe at all.

You can easily re-style them- Id suggest using Chrome's or any other developer tools to investigate and target accordingly.
PS most of the container elements will have a class of 'catProdAttributeTitle'.

I have several users in my approval groups and by default when a requisitioner places a requisition iProc selects the approver by choosing the first alphabetically
Can this be changed?
Ideally I would like the option against my requisitioners to be able to define who their default approver should be

We would like to know which approval process your business is following..i.e.
1) Employee - Supervisor
or
2) Positional Hiererarchy
When requestor/buyer create a requisition, system automatically (WF) configure who will be the approver for this requistion based on the approval hierarchy setup. In iprocuremet (R12) it allows buyer/requestioner to include another approver between the normal approvers but still it will wait for the final approvers approval.
Back to your main question : I have several users in my approval groups and by default when a requisitioner places a requisition iProc selects the approver by choosing the first alphabetically. Can this be changed?
Would you mind to allow system to take its own decision based on the approval hierarchy setup.. Make sure you are setting below profile option correctly in i-proc at site and Resp level.
POR : System Approvers are Mandatory set it as "Yes"

The field width in the layout depends on its Horizontal elasticity and its content :

If the Horizontal elasticity is set to "Variable", the field width will be automatically adjusted to its content length.

I want to know wheather is it possible to change the way a function module exit is called.In transaction IK11 i am using enhancement imrc0001 this function module is called only when clicking the save button. My requirement will be met only when desired result is obtained while clicking ENTER button.Now the desired result are obtained by Clicking SAVE button. As a result only after saving i am able to view. Is there any way to change by clicking Enter button itself we can call the IMRC0001 enhancement. Please guide me.

Each action in the screen have some FCODE(SY-UCOMM) in that exit u can add code when the particular button is clicked then run it or else no need to run.
For Example SAVE has user command as SAV+(SY-UCOMM)
u can restrict it as.
IF SY-UCOMM = 'SAVE+'.
Run ur code.
Endif.

In SAP sales order, Is that possible to change the plant manually?

When we create sales order, for material , it will choose the shipping plant . Some materials
has different level, like Material A is 0 Level, Material B is under A . So B will use same plant as A.
We hope to manually change the plant for B, but the field of plant is grey.
Is that possbile if we could enhanbe this field and could manually change plant ?

Currently, our problem is we need 0 level mateiral A plant as X , and Sub-item mateiral plant as Y , we hope to manually change the sub-item plant , but that field is grey , so we can't do it. We can change the high level mateiral plant, but for our request, the we only want to change the low level item plant, high level plant still need be X, no need change to Y.
The one way we found is to reject this line, and craete a new item and also input the level number.
but it's not convenient
So we hope to know for such plant field, Now in our sap, it's grey, we can't change it. Does sap need confige and allow this field un-grey, then we can manually directly change sub-item plant?

Has SAP has changed the way licenses are issued?

I was just informed by my client (Public Works Government Services Canada) that SAP has told them this week that ...
"for two maintenance releases within the same major version that we require two licenses on the same PC; one for 12.1 and another for 12.5".
My understanding was that a PB 12.5.x .LIC file will also activate a PB 12.x IDE as well on the same PC. In fact, that has been the case in previous years with various versions of PB from Sybase.
Has SAP changed (or are they changing) the way the old Sybase Sysam licenses work?

Apparently the person at SAP who wrote that thinks that 12.5 is a maintenance release of 12.0.
If the 12.5 license allows running 12.0, whether that is a bug would depend on whether Sybase intended to allow use of prior versions when you license the current version.
If they are going to license maintenance releases separately, that is definitely something new. I suppose they want to make sure only users with a maintenance agreement can install and use maintenance releases.
