Is it possible to clone an object from one image and paste it on another image?

Is it possible to clone an object from one image and paste it on another image in Aperture?

As Frank said,
but Aperture has a nice clone tool - the drawback is, that it only works within one image.
What I sometimes do - as a workaroud, when I want to use the clone brush, is to combine the image I want to clone from and the image I want to clone into, into one single image by printing them together to pdf as jpeg. Then I can clone from the second to the first, for example, to be able to add an fairy to a flower: Picking up the head of the fairy in the right image and brushing it into the left one. Occasionally I prefer the Aperture brush to the Photoshop lasso.

  • Is it possible to copy all comments from one pdf and paste to another?

    Hi Adobe Community
I have a pdf file that has 100+ pages with square markups and arrows. The pdf that was marked up is from last year, but this year the format is the same, but the numbers have changed. Rather than going through every single page and commented as I did last year, is it possible to copy all comments from last years pdf and paste them into this years pdf, in the same place?
    Thanks

You can export comments to an FDF file and import the FDF into another PDF. In Acrobat 11, you'd select: Comment > Comment List > [click the little icon in right of panel toolbar] > Export All to Data File

  • Is it possible to copy groups/paths from one layer and paste to other multiple layers?

Note Layer > Duplicate will not work in this regard, because I want to copy one group of paths/elements from one layer to other existing layers, not to a new layer.
I have not found a command for this, nor have I found any scripts. Note I'm using CS3 but have been thinking about an upgrade.
    Thanks in advance.

I actually use the Release to Layer (Sequence) function frequently to build my animated steps, for example when animating some text in a way that Premiere won't handle. This releases all the intermediary objects in a transition to new layers, but the background image still needs to be manually pasted into each newly created layer.
I have read about "Paste to all Artboards," but that feature was not included in CS3. I believe it was released in CS5. Perhaps I need to get an upgrade. Thank you for your kind replies.
I am a Mac-based CAD user going back to the mid-1990s, and it's interesting how many of the helpful, time-saving features we took for granted in those drawing programs are either not included in Illustrator products or are just being added in recent releases. I would still be using programs such as PowerDraw/PowerCADD if they hadn't gone out of business. Even with some of the expansion packs I've used, Illustrator doesn't hold a candle to PowerCADD.

  • How do I cut out an image from one photo and paste it in another photo?

Help!  I did use the scissors and eraser tool to cutout unwanted background, and now I have an image I want to save and copy to another photo.  The problem is that Elements 11 won't let me open up another photo at the same time, or let me copy the selected image to clipboard to paste on a different photo.  Adobe's  info. on how to do this seems to be sketchy.

    Try this:
Open photo B, the one that you want to add an object to. Minimize this.
Open Photo A, and using one of the selection tools, e.g. selection brush, lasso tool, make a selection of the object that is to be transferred to B. You will see "marching ants" when the selection is complete.
Go to Edit menu>copy to place the selection on the clipboard
    Go back to photoB
    Go to Edit>paste
With the move tool, position the object and resize with the corner handles of the bounding box.

I don't think you can copy layers – at least not in the
    way you are thinking.
But you can select frames or a range of frames and then
    copy/cut frames.
In the new document you can then paste frames. It has a lot
of variations depending upon how you many you copy, if there are
multiple layers, what area you select before pasting and so on. It
would take a lot to describe and I'm not sure I would describe it
    properly.
Generally just give it a try and get an intuitive feel for
it. The choices are available from the Edit menu but also from a
    right click.
It is also possible to slect and edit multiple frames so if
you do need to move a bunch of things on different key frames that
    is also possible.

  • Cannot copy pics from one event and paste them in another...not sure why?

Anyone know a solution?  It's almost like the event album is locked or something...

What if a user wants the same photo in two separate events?
In my case I have an event for a movie project and I want to take a movie from my 2012 spring event. I do not want to cut it from the 2012 spring event and put it ONLY in the movie project event. I want to COPY it so I have it in TWO SEPARATE EVENTS.
    Why is this not possible?

  • How can I copy a row from one sheet and paste it in a column in another sheet?

I would like to copy a row of numbers from one sheet and paste it into a column in another sheet.  Is it possible to do this with numbers?

    Hi Dennis,
Numbers doesn't have a built-in Paste Special > Transpose the way you have in Excel.  However, there are ways to do this in Numbers that are not difficult.
    Here are two ways:
    Approach 1:
Select the row of numbers, and command-c to copy to the system clipboard.
Click on the canvas and command-v to paste, automatically creating a new table.
With that new table still selected, in your menu choose Table > Transpose Rows and Columns.
Select the cells in the transposed table, command-c to copy, click once in a cell of the destination column of your target table, and command-v to paste.
Approach 2: (after a quick installation, very similar to Excel's built-in Paste Special > Transpose)
Download this Copy Transpose Automator Service, and double-click to install (if necessary choosing Open Anyway in System Preferences > Security and Privacy).
    Thereafter to use just:
select the row of numbers you want to copy
with the cells still selected, choose Copy Transpose from the Numbers > Services menu
click once in the destination column and command-v to paste the transposed values.
Note that the second approach does not handle cells with formulas, whereas the first approach will.

I have an extensive aperture library on my computer's hard drive and I want to break it up into separate smaller libraries on external hard drives.  How do I take projects from one library and add them to another one?

    Coastal,
Frank gave you the exact answer to your question.
However, I would like to ask if you are indeed asking the right question.  Do you really want different libraries?  The implications are that you have to "switch" libraries to see what's in the others, and so that your searches don't work across all of your pictures?  If so, then you asked the right question.  If not, you may be more interested in relocating your masters to multiple hard drives so your library gets smaller, instead of breaking up the library.

You can do that in FCPX too, as all the things you cited are listed separately in the inspector.
Here's a little gotcha. Let's say you've color corrected a few clips and you've applied an effect to one and want to paste it the other clips. You switch off color correction and copy the clip. You select the other clips and paste effects. What do you think happens? The effect is applied, but the color correction is applied as well, only it's switched off as it was in the first clip, so all the color correction on the other clips is lost. Fun, eh?
I'll try to replicate your gotcha - but no, that doesn't sound like fun at all!

  • How can you take a photo from one event and put it in another, without dragging to desktop and dragging back into iPhoto and moving it to the event folder I want it in.

As the title says I need help on how to take a photo from one event and put it in another, without dragging to desktop and dragging back into iPhoto and moving it to the event folder I want it in. Right now when I want to move a picture from one event to another I drag it to my desktop then delete it from iPhoto then I drag it back into iPhoto and put where I want it.An example would be taking a photo from the Christmas event and add it to a specific person event.  Can I do that within the events section without all the dragging. Also is there anyway I can remove duplicates from iPhoto without going through each and every file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Apple doesn't make it easy to do what you want.  However, here's how I do it.
Select the photo you want to move and create a new Event for it via the Event ➙ Create Event menu option.
In the Event mode select the new Event with the one picture and drag it onto the Event you want to move the photo to.

I have a macbook that I bought the new iMovie and iPhoto on, but I would rather it be on my iMac. So is there anyway I can change it? I thought that if I bought it the apps on my macbook, they would be avaliable on my imac like the mobile devices operate. The macbook has 10.6.8 cause its a older model and I think lion would slow it down. Any help??

Just redownload it on the other computer by logging into the App Store with the same Apple ID you used to purchase it.

Can you edit a person out of one photo and add them to another photo?  Like if you need the head shot from one photo to replace closed eyes in the other photo?  Thanks.

Thank you very much!  Does this require software to be purchased?  I'm new to Photoshop.

Subject: Re: Can you edit a person from one photo and add them to another photo?
    Welcome to the forum.
Yes, this is done often. You will need to create a Mask of that person, to separate them from the background of the original Image.
I like to do this with a Layer Mask, as it offers control, and really does not alter the Image, so you can go back and make changes.
Let's say that you have Image 01 w/ the head of your subject, and want to place it into Image 02. In Image 01, make a rough Selection. I would include a bit of extra background, as we will take care of that in a moment. With that Selection active, Copy the head shot. Go to Image 02, and Paste it. It will Paste in its own Layer. Ctrl+T (Free Transform) can be used to Scale and also position that Layer with the head. Once you have that Scaled and positioned about where you want it, create a Layer Mask. In QuickMask Mode, just paint in the additional Mask to remove all traces of the background that came in with the head shot. As you can paint OUT, and also paint IN the Mask, you can work on this, as many times as you wish - even next year.
For getting that Layer Mask looking good, work slowly, also see this http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/photoshop/l/blrbps_5agirl.htm.
I've got another tutorial, that addresses the hair area, and will post that, when I find my bookmark.
