We have created a new iPhoto
Do you mean you create a new iPhoto Library? How did you go about doing so? There is a possibility that you could have created a new library and overwritten the old one, thus the one library with only one photo in it. It's iffy but might have been accomplished.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Hello. Is it possible to clear the entire Bookmarks list at one time in Safari for Windows? I would like to continue to use the Safari browser even though I have Windows 7 as the operating system on my notebook. When I try to delete bookmark entries one at a time, after deleting several, errors start popping up in the browser. Can I reinstall Safari without the Bookmarks I've built up? Please help a humbled Safari user.

Are you sure that you can change the permissions of symlinks themselves? I think I've tried to make files read-only via symlinks on a local server but ended up using bindfs because it wasn't possible. Even if you can, symlinking everything that might be necessary for a given environment would not be ideal, plus I don't think symlinks can be used across different filesystems.
If a real-life human can figure out if it's he/she is in a chroot and break out of it, then he/she can write a script to do the same. I want a sandbox that could run malicious code with no effect on the system (if that's possible). Also, I think if the chroot idea were truly feasible, makepkg would have been using it for years already to simply install packages in the chroot as you normally would and then package them. There would also be several sandbox applications that could run applications safely. So far I have yet to find any.
I admit that I haven't looked into using a chroot in detail though and of course I may have missed some application which creates such a setup. Right now I think using per-application namespaces with fuse seems the most promising but I won't know until I've finished implementing a test application. If it turns out that it's a dead end I'll take harder look at chroot but it really doesn't seem to be able to do what I want.

Is it possible to overwrite an entire iPhoto library with one photo?

I was doing a routine download of a photo from my e-mail to my iPhoto library and pressed the "save to iPhoto".
I then went into iPhoto (I have version 08) and all of my event folders appeared...then suddenly gray boxes started appearing and everything disappeared.
When I went in to open iPhoto again I received a message to the effect of cannot find. We have created a new iPhoto but cannot find any of the photos in our library anywhere in searching our hard drive. Have tried all the search functions (including putting in jpg names of actual photos) and nothing is turning up. When I go into the data files - the photos are not in there. Is it possible to have somehow wiped out our entire collection of about 3000 photos? Unfortunately we did not have a back-up hard drive.....
I tried following some of the advice posted for iPhoto losses and gray boxes appearing...however none of them work.
Am finding it hard to believe that could have wiped out our entire collection by saving one photo? Was using iPhoto and saving a photo from the e-mail in the way I have been doing for months.
Any advice tips would be greatly appreciated?!
In disbelief over the possibility of entirely wiping out our collection!

Colouring entire row with Exceptions

Hi everyone. I'm a BW newbie, so please bear with me...
I've created a report that contains exceptions. However, I need to colour the entrire row in which the exception occurs. So for example, if the exception causes a Key Figure to turn Red, I need the whole row colour to turn Red.
Is this possible?

I have a crosstab layout and I want to change the color of the entire row according to one column, is that possible??

This is a simple one to answer because the answer is no. Coloring of individual rows of data is not one of the features that any version of Discoverer currently has. I have a copy of the newest Drake and this also does not allow this I'm afraid.

If you are using the mail app - Tap and hold down on the attachment icon in the email and that should bring up a window that says Open In. Do you not get that? Then you can select Pages from that window - assuming that you have Pages on the iPad.
The attachment should open when you tap on it anyway, even if you don't have Pages.

I am creating a spreadsheet that currently has 20 sheets, of which certain sheets have more than one table. I will be adding more sheets. I would like to return results for all occurences of the search string. Preferably into a seperate spreadsheet. It would be perfect if that seperate sheet updated whenever I update information in the first spreadsheet. To give an example:
Sheet:     baskets
     Tables:         straw
                         wire
Sheet:      barware
     Tables:          glasses
                          decanters
                          coasters
My tables all have the same titiels:
Vendor      Description     Cost     Selling Price
Since I will have upwards of 100 sheets, with multiple tables, and most of my vendors will fit into multiple sheet categories, it would be helpful if I could also see what my order will be from each vendor, not just who I will be ordering each item from. How would I do that?

Getting the MD5 of an entire ROW ?

I'm looking for how to get the MD5 of an entire row (or a known set of columns).
I've found the DBMS_OBFUSCATION_TOOLKIT.MD5 function, which takes either "input IN RAW" or "input_string IN VARCHAR2" as a parameter.
So, I've three questions:
1) Is is possible to get the entire value Row in a manner to pass into this function? (e.g. As a String)
2) Is this DBMS_OBFUSCATION_TOOLKIT package only in Enterprise edition and not in Standard edition ? (How do I check this)
3) or Is there a better way to get the MD5 of a Row ??
My row of data will contain a column of type MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY.

I've seen examples, using that input_string, but only in a procedure, I can't get it to work through a standard SQL statement.

Spreadsheet question: How to apply formula to entire row?

I am updating cells which already contain formulas. Can I select the entire row, and apply an additional formula (i.e.: 1.5*) or do I have to do it individually for each cell (there are hundreds)? I need the original formulas to stay in place, and they vary.

Welcome to Apple Discussions and the AppleWorks forum.
(The following was begun before Niel's post, and completed, with a few breaks, some time after it. It addresses a shortcoming with the solution suggested above, so I haven't altered it beyond adding this paragraph.)
I'm not certain as to exactly what you're requesting here. Do you mean you currently have the same formula in these cells (eg. =(A1-A2) ) and you want to change all of those formulas to (same eg. =1.5*(A1-A2) ). That's cetainly possible if the formulas are in contiguous cells (or in separater groups of contiguoous cells). For the example, select the first cell containing the formula and all the others contiguous to it. Make the change in the entry box, then press command-R to fill the changed formula to selected cells in the same row and to the right, then command-D to fill the formula to all selected cells below the row containing the edited cell.
OTOH, if you want to make the change to separate (ie. non-contiguous) cells, or to cells which do not contain what's essentially the same formula (with only the cell references changed to reference a cell located in the same relative position), I don't see any way to do it directly within the spreadsheet.
If the existing formulas are such that you can write a description of where to insert the change, it may be possible to make such a global change through an AppleScript, or through transferring the spreadsheet content to a word processing document, using Find/Change to make the revisions there, then transferr the result back to the spreadsheet (or more cautiously, to a new spreadsheet).
An AppleScript is someone else's territory. Here's how it could be done using the word processor.
For the example, I'll assume you want to change ALL formulas in the spreadsheet by adding the instruction to multiply the (result of the) current calculation by 1.5.
• Open the spreadsheet.
• Go Options > Display...
• Check the box "Formulas", Click OK.
• Select ALL of the cells containing data or a formula.
• Copy.
• Open a new word processing document.
• Paste.
• Press command-F to open the Find/Change dialogue.
• Enter "=" in the Find box, press tab, enter "=1.5*" in the Change box (no quotes in either case).
• Click Change All. OK the two alerts that follow. Close the Find/Change dialogue.
• Press command-A to Select All. Copy.
• Open a new spreadsheet document.
• Paste.
• Done.
Limitation: This will work only if the amended formula will give the expected result. Consider the example above, =(A1-A2) with 2 in A1 and 1 in A2.
As written, the original formula ( =(A1-A2) ) returns a result of "1", and the amended formula ( =1.5*(A1-A2) ) returns the expected result 1.5.
But it's unlikely the original will have included the parentheses,as they're not necessary to a correct result.
If the original is =A1-A2, the result is still 1, but the amended formula ( =1.5*A2-A1 ) will return the result "2", not 1.5.
Revising the beginning of the altered formula to add an opening parenthesis is easy. The difficulty here is telling Find/Change (or AppleScript) how to add the matching closing parenthesis to fomulas but not to the contents of cells containing labels, other text, or nothing at all..
*An alternate approach:* Rather than revising the existing spreadsheet's formulas, this method transfers the labels and results to a new section of the spreadsheet, multiplies the original results by 1.5, and displays the new result.
For discussion purposes, I'll assume the current spreadsheet contains 25 columns (A..Y) and 100 rows (1..100) of data and labels.
• Go Format > Document...
• Change the default 40 cells wide to 52 (or enough to accomodate twice as many columns as you have containing data now).
• Click OK
• Select a cell to the right of the cells containing data in the current spreadsheet. (For the example, choose cell AA1)
• Enter the following formula:
=IF(ISTEXT(A1),A1,IF(ISBLANK(A1),"",A1*1.5))
• Select the block of cells extending right and down from AA1 that matches the size of the original block (for the example, AA1..AY100).
• Fill the formula Right (command-R) and Down (command-D).
The formula will copy the text from cells containing text, keep cells blank ("") where the originals were blank, and enter the results, multiplied by 1.5, for cells where the originals contain a formula with a numerical result or a number.
Limitation: The formula does not distinguish between an entered number and one generated by a formula contained in the referenced cell. All numeric values will be multiplied.

Is it possible to give an added row a Color.

Hello I read data of a txtfile and than place the data in a jtable.
I know how to give a selected row an other color but my question is:
Is it possible to give an added row a Color.
I make the new row this way

Now I want this added row red is this possible.
I don't know what the rowIndex or Cell number is.

The colour of a cell in a JTable is assigned by a TableCellRenderer. If you look at how that works, all it knows is the object in the cell, the table, the row and column number, and whether the cell is selected or focussed. It doesn't care when things happened.
So if you want your TableCellRenderer to colour your cells based on something that isn't in that list, then you have to modify the design of your object, the one in the cell, so that it contains information the cell renderer can use to decide what colour to render it.
Based on your description I can't say much more than that, because it's hardly a complete description of how the colour scheme is supposed to work.
And by the way the people in the Swing forum are better at answering Swing questions.

Coloring entire row ??? (TableColumn) (cell rendering)

I know this question has been posted a few times but i just couldn't make it work.. i have attached my app below. the idea is to paint the whole row to red if value[row,0] = '*' but the problem here is that only that particular row and column i.e. aRow and aColumn indicated in the cell renderer class is painted red .. i want the whole row to be red not only that particular column and row.. i can get the aRow and aTable from the renderer class but can't figure out how to use these values to paint the whole row for the table RegLocationsTableModel2...... please shed some lights on this.....

even after changing that if(..) statement, only the first column/cell of the row that has '*' value is coloured to red... other columns of the row basically remains as white..
as far as i understand correctly the cell rendering, in my case, the loadhandler.java calls the cell renderer class (RenderRedGreen.java) with vColIndex=0... i.e. checking the 0th column of the row.. if the value of the first cell is '*' then the background OF THE CELL is set to red otherwise the background of the cell is set to white.. and all the while, the check is only been done on the 0th column of each row... so basically no coloring will be done on the other rows.. (???)
i think that somehow since aRow of aTable indicates the row for whose the 0th column is '*' and is the row whose entire column is to be colored.. somehow it has to be rendered from within the render class (RenderRedGreen.java).. any suggestions??? i think some of us has already done entire row coloring.. need some insight into this..

I have alv report(Oops) , it is grid display and having more than 300 columns , when i execute that report in background i am getting only 132 columns and 65 lines per page, Is it possible to display the entire list , If it is possible then how we can do that? if it is not what is the reason? .

If use Grid in BG u will get o/p In ALV List Itself, second thing is u will get Croped o/p bcos of Print Format 65255 , in this case u have to create/change a new Print Format only for BG jobs like 651000.
for more info ask ur basis person to create a new print formats in such cases.

How to change the semantic color of entire rows in a table.

Hi, in the past I already managed to change the semantic color of a cell by a condition (for example all the cells with negative number -> I set negative semantic color)
My question is how can I change the semantic color of the entire row where this cell belong, and not only the cell. Im using NW2004.
BTW, Im not a java programmer, neither a Webdynpro expert, just an ABAP Programmer. So try to be very explicit, Thx.

You can just bind correspondign property of every cell editor (TextView) of every column to the very same context attribute. Next, when you change attribute value for certain elemnt, the whole row (every cell editor in row) will get same value.
