Is it possible to combine two iTunes accounts?

I somehow managed to create two separate accounts for iTunes (one for when I was a PC user and then the second when I bought my Mac). Is there a way to combine the two accounts into one?
Thanks!

None that I know of, and no way for any user to do. You can try contacting iTunes Music Store Customer Service and asking if they can do it, but most likely they will not be able to, in which case you'll have to maintain two accounts if you've purchased through both (not a problem; you can have up to five iTMS accounts on any one system).

Items purchased from the iTunes Store are permanently associated with the account from which they were originally purchased.  Apple provides no way to change this.
However, if you wish to put content from two accounts into a single iTunes library, you can easily do so.  Use the command File > Add File (or Folder) to Library.

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

You don't. As far as I know from reading posts here on AD, everyone who has asked for this hasn't gotten it.
Contact ITS support here to make sure, though.

  • Combine two iTunes accounts

I've seen the responses on previous post (at least some of them) saying it is not necessary to combine two iTunes accounts.  The solution is to authorize both accounts on all computers and you're fine.  I disagree.
First, my wife and I have three iTunes accounts, because when she first signed up for MobleMe she was allowed to have a username that was not an email address.  Then when iCloud came around, she was required to have a user name that was an email address.  So she created a new one.
Here's the problem; we have bought media ( a lot of it) on three different accounts:  her first one (non-email user name), her second one (email) and my account.  We have purchased so much media that we cannot fit it all on any of the hard drives (lot os HD TV show, and movies).  It is a pain in the rear to have to keep track of what movie is on what account when we want to login and download a prepurchased movie.
It was not our fault that Apple changed the login requirement for user names from non-email (and email) to strictly email only.
There should be a process for us to be able to at least combine my wife's two accounts.
    Apple, will you help?

  • HT201342 Can I combine two iTunes accounts into one?

I have two iTunes accounts and there for two accounts I purchase music, movies and apps. This happened because my original iTunes account was my primary email at the time. I thought if I updated that information to a new .mac/.me account it would take my purchases with it, but alas, that didn't happen. I just wound up creating a new account and purchased a few things on that before I realized I had to sign out of one account to sing into the other to update. Anyone with any ideas on how to consolidate my accounts and therefor my purchases in to a single one, like the new .iCloud account extension, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

  • First-time user of IPod Shuffle, my husand has an IPod Touch and has hundreds of songs already on his ITunes account. If Is it possible to have two ITunes accounts so his music is not automatically loaded onto my new Shuffle?

Just bought an IPod Shuffle; my husband has an IPod Touch and has hundreds of songs on his ITunes account.  Is it possible to have two different accounts on the same computer to prevent his music from being loaded onto my Shuffle?

When you say "iTunes account," I think you mean iTunes library.  An iTunes "account" is what you use to sign in to the iTunes Store (your Apple ID) and purchase songs (and other media).  The iTunes library is what you have on your computer, with your songs and playlists.  That is what you use for syncing iPods.
You can have a separate iTunes library.  If you create a new user account on your computer (using Windows) and log in to that user account, iTunes will create a new iTunes library for that account.  In fact, Windows will keep ALL of your documents separate, as if you are using a separate computer.  That is probably the best way to keep your songs in a different iTunes library.
You can also create a separate iTunes library in the same Windows user account, if you use this procedure to switch between iTunes libraries
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1589
Also, you can use the same iTunes library, and decide what songs you want put on the shuffle.  iTunes does not automatically put songs on the shuffle, unless you tell it to do so.  This document explains how to load content on shuffles
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1719
NOTE:  If the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is not visible, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  When connected, your shuffle appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES.
FYI - There is a link to the shuffle user manual on this support web page for the shuffle

  • Is there a way to combine two iTunes account?

I would like to combine my iTunes account with my husbands account. Is there a way to do this?

It's not currently possible to combine iTunes accounts or to transfer content from one account to another account. You should be able to have both accounts authorised on the computer's iTunes that you sync to (via the Store > Authorise This Computer menu option) - but the apps will remain tied to the account that originally bought/downloaded it, so only that account will be able to download updates to those apps.
Also note that using iTunes match, using automatic downloads or re-downloading past purchases will risk tying that computer (or device) to that account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

  • How can I combine two iTunes accounts?

I had an iTunes account at home then created another at work. How can I combine the two?
When I received an iPad2 at work, I was required to have/initiate an account during the setup process.  I couldn't remember what email address my personal iTunes account was under, so I set up another and began using it to load required and desired apps on my iPad.  Openning my windows laptop for the first time in months, I now see that my personal iTunes account was under a really old email address (which is why I couldn't recall it at work).
The (old) personal account has many podcasts and personal music, yet the new iPad account is linked to my work apps.  Is it possible to merge the two?

    Hi vwalker,
I have the same issue, but it seems that Apple will not let you merge itunes accounts.  Refer to this FAQ, specifically the text below:
I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.
If you are wondering how using multiple Apple IDs relate to iCloud, see Apple IDs and iCloud.
This is the original website: http://support.apple.com/kb/he37
Now I have to add that this is rather disappointing as I have some purchases on my old itunes account which I would like to merge into my current iTunes account (which was created due to an oversight).  The oversight was, I thought my original iTunes was converted to @me.com one when I signed up for the 90 day trial to use mobileme services.

  • Combining two itunes accounts

Hi!  I am guessing it happened when I got an iphone through my job, but I ended up with two seperate itunes accounts.  It seems like some things on my iphone reference one account whereas the other things reference the other account.  I really want to combine these into one account.  I am really not clear on what is associated with each account etc.  How do I clean up this mess?

Apple has said before that two AppleIDs cannot be combined, but that they were "looking into it"... Years have passed and it seems iOS 8 "Family Sharing" will be their answer to this problem.
I also have two AppleIDs, one for the USA AppStore to download games and regular apps and another for my local country's AppStore where I can find local apps that are not in the USA AppStore; I had to open both accounts because my local AppStore did not have games at all, until recently.
The problem is that when you download apps, they come encrypted with a token associated with the AppleID; the installation decrypts the downloaded app and installs it, but decryption can happen only if you're logged in with the AppleID used to buy and download the app.
On iTunes for MAC or PC, the apps are IPA files (like Facebook.ipa, for example), so someone thought it would be easy to share apps between different devices with different AppleIDs just by transfering the IPA files among the iTunes in these computers... but not: The encrypted IPA file can only be installed on a different device using the same AppleID used to download it, for the decryption process to be successfull.

  • Combining two iTunes Accounts into one

After some serious iPod clean up I am trying to consolidate my audio / video assets under a single iTunes account. I have previously purchased/licensed media (movies, music, class ware) under two different iTunes names (associated with two different devices). I am "retiring" one iPod and want to consolidate my media assets on a single iPod - without repurchasing access rights to any of this material. I can switch back and forth syncing UserA content or UserB content but I can not figure out how to combine both "data bases" to create (effectively) UserAB with all of my content combined. I have managed to consolidate my music assets previously created by ripping physical CD's, but materials purchased from iTunes refuse to come together and work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I can achieve this feat there is an iPad in my future... if not... can you say Android?

    Apple IDs can't be merged.
