yes.  As long as it is a newer one (means not 15-20 years old). Do you have one?  If so, provide the make/model.  If you do not have one, which ones are you looking to purchase?

First, make sure your TV is tuned to display the correct input signal. Most TVs have several inputs (multiple HDMIs, cable connections, RCA etc) so double-check that you're using the correct one - HDMI1, HDMI2 or whatever is written next to the port.
I assume that you have a mini-Displayport to HDMI adaptor? If you open displays preferences, first tick the box that says "show display preferences in menu bar" then locate the menu and click Detect Displays. See if that helps.

  • Looking for a bluetooth headphone for my Macbook Air and Ipad Mini, I am not looking for a headphone that needs a transmitter to be connected to the source rather a headphone that can be connected directly via bluetooth to the source device

I am desperately looking for a bluetooth headphone that would be compatible to my Macbook air and Ipad mini both. I am more of looking for a headphone that does not need a transmitter device to be connected to the source (in this case Macbook Air and Ipad Mini) and headphone acting as a receiver, rather need a headphone that would be connected directly via bluetooth to the source, it would be great if multiple apple devices be connected simultaneously. Please suggest some good headphones.

Hey sorry for the late reply, I was busy to figure out alternatives as harman kardon was a difficult affair to find and acquire, but the good news is I managed to get hold of alternative.
Sony I assume recently launched a Bluetooth headphone DR-BTN200 which is compatible to my MacBook Air , iPad mini and android phone galaxy s2 with ease, the sound quality is pretty good as compared to other brands of Bluetooth headphones I checked compatible or incompatible to apple devices alike, this is definitely what I was looking for, costed me 7990 INR, this is highly recommended for ppl who are confused, I carried my devices to the store and checked before I bought a pair and pretty much happy,
The best part of this is its battery backup, I have used this hours for 3-5 days but this has not drain even then, but I do keep this charging once in 2-3 days just to keep this ready otherwise it does not even ask for it neither the quality of sound drops after 2-3 days of use.
This is over the ear headphone which is very soft but it's get sweaty around the ear I guess that's bound to happen.
Do get back to me for any other details, would be glad to share with all :)

    Rufus Cat-
Even if it was compatible, AirPrint does not work through a USB link, only Ethernet or WiFi.
I do not see your HP 4500 listed on Apple's list of AirPrint compatible printers.  <iOS: AirPrint 101>  Therefore you need to take another approach.  To start, I suggest you download the free HP App, ePrint Home & Biz.  It has limitations, but should get you printing with your existing setup.
There are other printing Apps with more features such as Print n Share and PrintCentral, but they can only be accessed from within other Apps that have the "Open In" option.
Your best option may be to share your computer's printer as AirPrint over WiFi.  Programs that are reported to do that well are Printopia and FingerPrint.  Your computer must be on and awake any time you want to print.  <Printopia for Macintosh>  <FingerPrint for PC and Mac>

The only theoretical solution is an USB ExpressCard adapter and FireWire ExpressCard. I don't know if anyone's actually attempted it.

Question:How do I connect my MacBook Air so my Epson Stylus Color 740i Ink Jet Printer will print?

First, the Epson Stylus Color 740 (which I assume is your printer) is listed in this article, which is good news:

So Apple can provide its driver software.

  • Connecting Printer to MacBook Air

    Hello all,
I have a MacBook Air 11" (OS X Lion) from December 2011 (I assume it's still the same type of MacBook Air that they're selling now). Anyway, my mom has a PC Desktop (Windows Vista) to which an HP Deskjet Printer is attached. My MacBook is pretty much always in the same room as the PC (6' away or so) and I was wondering if there is a way to wirelessly connect the printer to my MacBook so I don't always have to email myself stuff.
    Thanks!
PS: Plz. provide step-by-step instructions in response! Thx!

    gymgator97,
What is the specific model and model number of the printer connected to your mothers Vista machine(let me know if you have trouble locating this info there are some guides to locate it)? It may be possible to connect printer wirelessly and have both machines use it as a network attached printer.
I work with HP but my posts and opinions are my own.

  • Connecting to Xbox Live using a Macbook Air?

Okay, so i've had my Macbook Air about a month now and I wanted to use it to connect to xbox live just like I did when I had windows. I bought one of the adapters as the macbook air doesn't have a ethernet port and I have tried a lot of the tutorials and walkthroughs that other people have posted but they all seem to be froma few years ago and don't work for me. If there is anyone that could give me some help I would really appreciate it.
I am also using OS X Mavericks 10.9.2.

    Hello BURL3YY,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of steps and helpful advice concerning connection sharing:
OS X Mavericks: Share your Internet connection

This is a very useful tool and I have used it myself to connect consoles to play games online. Have fun!

  • Connect wireless printer to macbook air

I'm trying everything I can think of....Macbook seems to recognize the printer, but I keep getting a "Printer is not connected" message. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Well, I assume what you upgraded was your Operating System, though I'm a little doubtful because I would expect it to take several hours to upgrade from the four year old Leopard to the current Mountain Lion (version 10.8.2).  So I wonder what software you actually upgraded ...
Anyway, assuming you're running the very latest software, and have the very latest firmware on your printer, here's a general troubleshooting guide.  I know it says it's for iOS, but a lot is applicable:
    1.  The "AirPrint enabled printer" list applies.
    2.  The "If you are unable to print ..." section at the bottom lists good things to check.

    I hope this helps.

  • IPhone 4s keeps connecting and disconnecting from my new Macbook Air 2013

Ok I've been having this problem, I recently got an 11 inch Macbook Air 2013 and after I try connecting my iPhone 4s it keeps connecting and disconnecting every 1-2 seconds. I already check the community, I know this subject has been asked many times. Nothing worked out though. My cable cord must be fine because it works perfectly on my PC. I updated the OS and iOS to their latest firmware and still nothing. Whenever I try opening iTunes I get this message saying " iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. This device is no longer connected. " Please if anyone fixed this issue I would appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

I just solved it, I hope this helps everyone who is experiencing the same problem. Apparently the iPhone seems to charge normally and connect to iTunes if the iPhone battery is over 60%-70%. This must be a power issue the MBA has.

  • One dot not lit in macbook air green isight light

does anyone know what makes up the green isight light in 2012 macbook air?  I notice that one "dot" is not lit.  Not sure if I sure if it's worth taking to store to fix etc. although still under warranty.   Don't want them to open the screen for one tiny LED light. Is it many tiny bulbs or just one?  Would appreciate any info!

As far as I know, it is only one LED.  If the green indicator lights when in use and goes out when not, I don't think anything is wrong.  However, if you want an authoritative answer, contact Apple MacBook Air Support.  They can tell you if a service visit is in order.

  • Best USB-MIDI interface to connect Yamaha MFC10 foot controller to MacBook Air

    Hi guys,
I would like to buy a Yamaha MFC10 MIDI foot controller. It has a number of advantages over other foot controllers. For instance: you can connect up to four additional expression pedals to the foot controller, which is something I might need in the future, so it's better to invest in this product so I am prepared for the future.
The thing is, I want to connect this MIDI controller to a USB port on my MacBook Air. What is the best USB-MIDI interface to get in this situation?
I love to hear your thoughts on this.
    Cheers!
    Best regards,
    Theo

Did you set midi communications to USB? I think by default it may be set to the MIDI port on the back. You need USB.
    Press Utilities, then MIDI (F6).

  • TS3147 connect OS X 10.9.2 macbook air to windows 7 network and share printer (Brother HL-2230) connected via USB to the same network

Would like to share printer Brother HL-2230 on windows 7 network.  Using Windows 7  "Homegroup" is not an option.
The printer (HL-2230) is connected via USB to win 7 computer.  Before I updated OS to 10.9.2  it (Macbook air) had  HL-2230 as one of its' priinters and was able to print.  Now a print request hangs on "Hold for authentication".
I have already reset printer system and re-installed printer x2 - no luck.
I have already connected WiFi Epson XP-200 to the Macbook air - runs fine, no problem.
thx for any help that can lead to the resolution of this problem.

  • How can I resolve OSStatus Error 13 on Time Machine when connecting to Time Capsule from my MacBook Air?

Sometimes things are simply comlicated and I do not know what to do? Now please help me to connect to me back up ... you guys... all of you are genious...in your own own...thanks

Our true genius died a little while ago.
But up to Mountain Lion he has tones of info ..
    http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
Try some of the section C solutions.
It is more than likely network.
    BUT do the following.
    1. Install the widget A1
    2. Reset TM, A4
    3. Verify the backup, A5
    4. Reboot the whole network and restart it in order.. modem.. TC.. MB Air.
    No luck to this point.
Tell us exactly what OS you have.
The worst possible is Mavericks. If you are trying to connect to old backups after an upgrade it is hopeless.
    I recommend you start over.
Simply wipe the TC and start afresh.
Manually mount the TC disk in Mavericks so you are sure it is working. Tell us if you run into trouble.
Most important.. in wireless network preferences are you running ipv6 in link-local mode.
