Is it possible to connect audio to subtitle streams?

Hello-
I'm putting together a guitar instructional dvd and would like to have tuning screens that would allow users to tune their instruments to tones provided on the dvd. I'd like to have users be able to select the strings through using a icons that would be contained in subtitle streams and, ideally, the selection of that stream would trigger the appropriate audio file.
Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks...

That sounds to me as if you'd like to put a clickable object into a subtitle stream, in which case I believe the answer is no. You can put buttons over video and make use of the subtitle stream to do so, or you can think a little about ways to structure the section you are working on a little differently.
For example, if I go to a menu which has six buttons along the bottom, each of which corresponds to a different guitar string then I can change the audio by clicking on a button.
You \might do this by using a TRACK as your menu, using buttons over video and adding six audio streams to the track. You would set each button target to go to a short script which sets the correct audio stream and then sends you back to the track. The scripting is simple:
Set System Stream Au(1(audio file info))
Jump Trackname
You then hear a different audio note each time.
Alternatively, use standard menus, make six identical versions and set a different audio stream into each. Now, set each button to go to the correct menu, which will look the same but sound different.
Whilst I quite like the scripting challenge, the latter is a far easier and more straightforward solution. You can always add video to a menu background if you are needing to, of course.

  • Audigy SE: Possibility to connect with front panel audio in/

I have a case which has an audio in and out jack on the frontcase. Is it possible to connect these with an connector on the Audigy SE?

My "disable front panel detection" is unchecked.
It is not clear to me if you were able to check (enable) the box. The setting you need is "disable front panel detection" checked; that means the motherboard delivers the output to front panel, irrespective of there is a headphone connected or not.
If you are unable to check that box, i am not sure where is the problem. If you can, i expect you see a pop up window asking you what you have connected to the front panel, by default it should be an audio output option like headphone. Make sure, as I mentioned already, that you can see inside the audio software window the status of all the audio input/output sockets in different colours. The 2 icons representing the frontpanel should be highlighted and you should be able to designate what output/input you want from each of them. If this doesn't happen there is no point in connecting the audio out cable to the header (unless you have the appropriate MSI frontpanel cable which provides jack detection)
If you have successfully disabled the detection, you just need 3 wires to get output (things work when they are simple). Forget about the looping; you don't need them if jack detection is disabled.
I suggest you connect the 3 wires to the pins as shown in the manual.
Note the pin configuration diagram for the "JAUD1" header. I think the common/ground wire from your headphone socket should be  to pin 2, Right out to pin 5 and left out to pin 9.
Let us know of your results.

  • Is it possible to connect a Mac external Hard Drive to a TV to watch downloaded movies etc/

Is it possible to connect an external hard drive to a TV in order to view movies etc; that have been downloaded from iTunes.
I have transferred my data from iTunes onto the hard drive but the default system appears to be called Elmedia and I have never heard of this system before.
My plan was to buy a USB to HDMI lead and connect to TV that way but as I am struggling to watch media on my computer using Elmedia I dread to think what will happen if I try to connect my hard drive to a TV in Europe.

There are some wireless external hard drives that can be used with the iPad.
The Kingston Wi-Drive, which costs $50 for the 16 Gigabyte, and then $30 more for every 16 gigs more. It works by you turning it on and then accessing the files on it from an app that you download on your iDevice. You can access music, movies, and other stuff. No connections or anything, it works like a WiFi connection, you connect to it from the setting on the iPad under wireless networks.
Then there is the Seagate GoFlex, which some would recommend over the Wi-Drive. But this one costs $199 and had 500 Gigabytes of storage. It works the sameway as the Kingston: no wires, runs over its wireless connection. You can actually fit up to 300 HD movies on it.
    Another option:

  • HT3382 Is it possible to connect MacbookPro display to a TV video (RCA) input?

I would like, if possible, to connect the display image of my MacbookPro (15" late 2008) to a TV which has a video input port (yellow RCA), and associated stereo audio line input ports.  Is there any adaptor or system that will allow this?
    Sam

For video, you need two items. A Mini DisplayPort to VGA adaptor, such as
    <http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB572Z/A>
and a VGA to composite video adaptor, such as
    <http://www.amazon.com/PC-To-TV-Video-Converter/dp/B001CJOLBW>
For audio, you'll need a 3.5mm jack to RCA stereo cable.
(Note, the links are just examples of the type of device you need -- I don't know how well those particular ones work.)

  • Apple Thunderbolt Monitor connect to Lenovo X240. Is it possible to connect thinkpad to Thunderbolt monitor. Only need display.

For my day job I am required to use a Lenovo Thinkpad X240 and would like to use my Thunderbolt display.  Is it possible to connect? I am not concerned about audio capabilities. If yes what adapters should I use?

I have a similar situation, however my Lenovo is an X1Carbon and it DOES have a thunderbolt port.  Can I use my Levono X1Carbon with my apple thunderbolt external monitor?  I have tried plugging it in, however it doesn't seem to be working?  Is there something specific that I need to do?

  • It is possible to connect the new Mac Pro at the Eizo  Color Edge CG 243 W

    Hello,
it is possible to connect at the new Ma Pro an Screen Eizo Color Edge CG 243W, or is this model to old for the new computer?

The display has DisplayPort, so all you neded is a Mini Displayport to DisplayPort cable to connect it to a Thunderbolt port on the Mac Pro.
    <http://www.startech.com/Cables/Audio-Video/DisplayPort/6-ft-Mini-DisplayPort-to- DisplayPort-Adapter-Cable-Male-to-Male~MDP2DPMM6>
It also has DVI, so you could connect it to the Mac Pro's HDMI port with a HDMI to DVI cable.

  • HT202157 is it possible to connect an Apple TV and a Roku to your tv without first disconnecting one or the other?

Is it possible to connect both an Apple TV and Roku without first disconnecting one or the other. In other words, connecting both devices to the tv simultaneously? I'm sure it depends on the number of ports, audio/tv available, and if so, do they make a splitter that would accomodate this???

Hi. Got to App Store and download the Remote app. It's an app that makes your iPad or iPhone a remote for the Apple TV! I like it especially if you need to type a lot text.

  • Is it possible to connect an external USB 2.0 hard drive to a Thunderbolt Display?

    Hello,
Is it possible to connect an external USB 2.0 hard drive to a Thunderbolt Display and back up a MacBook Air to the external hard drive using Time Machine?
I intend to connect my MacBook Air to the Thunderbolt Display using a Thunderbolt cable.
I would also like to connect my printer via USB 2.0 to the Thunderbolt Display. Will this also work?
Effectively using the Thunderbolt Display as a USB hub or docking station.
    Regards,
    Ben

    Ok, thanks.
My 1 cable to ThunderBolt Display objective
MacBook Air -> (via 1 x Thunderbolt cable) -> Thunderbolt Display -> (via 1 x USB cable) -> USB 2.0 external hard drive
I would like to know if this configuration is possible and Time Machine will run correctly.
Your 2 cable suggestion (I think)
    MacBook Air -> (via 1 x Thunderbolt cable + 1 x USB cable) -> Thunderbolt Display + USB 2.0 external hard drive
This configuration requires 2 cables to disconnect/reconnect from my MacBook Air.

  • Is this possible: SNC connection from SAP GUI to SAP Router, and ...

    Hi,
    I have (stupid perhaps) question.
    Is this scenario possible:
SNC connection from SAP GUI to SAP Router, and non-SNC connection from SAP Router to SAP System.
I know how to set up scenario like this:
    SAP System --- (non-SNC conn) --- saprouter1 --- (SNC conn) --- saprouter2 --- (non-SNC conn) --- SAP GUI.
    Best regards,
    Marek Majchrowski

    Wolfgang,
To be sure myself and Marek understand, can you confirm the different scenarios supported:
    Scenario 1:
    SAP GUI --- (non SNC conn) --- saprouter1 --- (SNC conn) --- saprouter2 --- (non-SNC conn) --- SAP System
With this scenario, it would be possible for a user to logon using SAP GUI onto the SAP System, but without SAP GUI SNC.
    Scenario 2:
    SAP GUI --- (SNC conn) --- saprouter1 --- (non SNC conn) --- saprouter2 --- (SNC conn) --- SAP System
With this scenario it would be possible to logon to the SAP System using SAP GUI, and using SNC authentication.
Also, with this scenario the SAP GUI software and SAP System software would consider this to be similar to:
SAP GUI -- (SNC conn) -- SAP System
    Scenario 3:
This is the scenario mentioned by Marek in his initial question:
SAP GUI -- (SNC conn) -- saprouter1 -- (non SNC conn) -- SAP System
With this scenario it will not be possible to logon to SAP System using SNC, and only possible if the SAP GUI is configured to not use SNC. In other words the SNC connection between SAP GUI and saprouter1 is available, but cannot be used.
    Thanks,
    Tim

    Hi,
Currently it's not possible. The workaround may be to duplicate the contact in Business Contacts to make that happen.

My TV is mounted on a wall so I can't connect the Apple TV device. Is it possible to connect to an HD Cable Box and send signal to TV that way? Other problem is that Box only has one HDMI socket so would also have to use a splitter. Tried Apple Support but couldn't offer a solution. I can't be the only person with this issue surely?

No, unless you are using a home theatre system already, your only option is to connect to the TV.

    Hi,
    Does anyone have some experience or knowledge on this question;
is it possible to connect R/3 4.7 (a.k.a Enterprise) and BI7.0/SEM-BCS6.0?
If yes, what is required for R/3 insatallation?
For example, SP updating on PI_BASIS, SAP-BW or so.
    regards,

    Hi, greg
    Thanks for your experiential reply.
    > it's a pain to rerun iterations with such an interface, though.
I want to know some more, if it colud be.
    And, I'm still afraid of interactivity between R/3 4.7 and SEM-BCS 6.0.
Is there anything required for R/3 insatallation?
