Is it possible to connect Satellite L40 to TV

Is it possible to connect L40 to tv. If so what do I need?

You can connect it to TV, but you need an adapter:) Something like this:
http://synonym.dk/mall/shop.asp?shop_id=5957
Note that this one is for PAL. If you NTSC TV then you will need to find similair for that.

  • Is it possible to connect satellite dish directly to Qosmio G20?

    Hy everyone,
I have a Qosmio G20-PQG21. The receiver is 60 meters away from laptop position. In this case the channel cannot be changed. The problem this person want to change the channels. The problem is quite simple... can i connect the coaxial cable from dish directly to tv tunner and setup the program guide? or do you have another solution for my situation?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
In my opinion its not possible to connect the satellite cable directly to the Qosmio.
You cannot also connect the TV directly with the satellite dish. Its the same case on the notebook. You need a sat receiver between the notebook and sat dish.
    There are two possibilities:
1.) You will buy a longer cable from the sat dish to the receiver and place the receiver nearer notebook.
2.) You will place the notebook nearer the sat receiver ;)

  • Is it possible to connect Satellite P200 to Xbox 360

    Hi,
I was wondering if my xbox 360 can be somehow connected to my Satellite P200 notebook so I could use the screen to play my games on.
    Thanks in advance
    Steve.

    Dont think so!
As far as I know it was possible to connect the first Xbox to a Qosmio G20 but as Im not mistaken its not possible to use the Xbox360 with the P200.
But why you dont check the user manual?
If something like that would be possible then the user manual should provide any details

  • Satellite L40 won't shut down with power connected, and won't go in standby

Hi everybody. I hope someone can help me. Basically, there are two problems: one with shutting the laptop (Satellite L40-17U (Vista 32-bit Home Premium SP1) ) down when the power is connected, and one with closing the lid and putting it to sleep.
    1. Since a few weeks, it suddenly doesn't want to shut down, whenever the power is connected. When it is on battery, it will shut down. When the power is connected and I try shutting it down, it seems like it shuts down (all activity ceases and the LEDs go off) for about 1 or 2 seconds, and then it goes back on.
    2. When I close the lid (all settings in Vista are set to put the laptop in 'sleep' status when the lid is closed) the laptop goes into a state from which it can only be recovered by shutting it down by pressing the on/off button for about 10 seconds to completely shut it down. When closing the lid, only the battery LED keeps blinking orange (the way it should be), but apparently the laptop keeps consuming power, because when I reboot it later (first having to shut it down as described above) the battery tends to be quite a emptier than it was before rebooting it (like going from 100% to 65% in 30 minutes, while being in 'sleep' state). Also, when I open the lid, the other LEDs do go on again (green), but nothing happens.
After rebooting by first pressing the on/off button for 10 seconds to shut it down, I frequently get a message that Windows could not be started, and have to run System Repair.
I've just done a completely clean installation with the product recovery CD (didn't install SP1 yet), upgraded the BIOS to v1.90, but the problem remains.
I'm afraid my only option will be to bring it away for a warranty repair, but knowing that these repairs can take weeks, I'd prefer to try a solution anyone here could recommend me first. If you have any ideas, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Daniel Breslauer

    Hi guys
Never had such issue on my notebook but regarding to another users here in the forum the BIOS might help to solve such strange notebook behavior
To be honest the shut down issue is not known to me I noticed an standby issue on my notebook but the BIOS update helped.
Therefore I recommend updating the BIOS firstly.
If the issue will still appear, then the ASP should take a look into the notebook.
    Good luck

  • Satellite L40: How do I recover files from Hard Drive

    Hi
Can anyone help me please. About one week ago I started experiencing a clicking sound coming from my Satellite L40 laptop. My laptop froze and when I restarted it, I was directed to the system setup with a message at the bottom saying
"Pri Master Hard Drive Disk SMART status bad, Backup and replace.
    Press F2 to presume."
    I have pressed F2 but I haven't a clue what to do?
Can anyone tell me how to backup my files before my hard drive has completly gone or if it has gone can I use another device to get them off.
I have tried to use the recovery disk but the disk is not responding??
    Please help
    Pete

    Hi
This messages looks like an warning notification from the S.M.A.R.T.
It does mean that your HDD will eventually fail.
It could happen next days or it may not happen for a few months but the SMART capability has detected that the drive is going bad so it should be replaced as soon as possible.
It looks like your notebook is not very old so the warranty should cover all replacements.
I see only one way to access and backup the data. Possibly you could buy an external USB SATA HDD enclosure and could connect the HDD to another computer.
Im not sure if you will be able to access the HDD due to the malfunction but if you want you could try this.
    Good luck

  • Satellite L40 is dead - cannot boot up

    Hi
I hope someone can help me. My laptop just died!!
It is a Toshiba Satellite L40 machine. It suddenly went off and when I tried to put it back on in the morning Nothing!!
I have tried it without the battery, with the battery. I have checked the original charging adapter with multimeter and working fine. All I get is a green battery light on the laptop itself when plugged into the power source with the battery in. I have checked the motherboard no signs of loose connections or discolouration.
I was thinking it could be the battery which has died. Does the laptop need to use the battery as part of the power circuit? I would like to know if anyone has had this issue before I spend out on a new battery.
I hope someone out there can help me please!!
    Thanks
    Jamjul

Notebook does not need batter as part of the power circuit and you can use it with AC power supply only. if you cannot start your notebook with AC power supply without battery I am afraid there is some serious hardware problem. Probably with power supply electronic.
Such hardware malfunction is pretty complicated and it should be repaired by authorized personal only. So contact nearest service as soon as possible and ask for help.

  • Satellite L40 with no Wi-Fi after Update of Vista

    Hey there,
i got a Toshiba Satellite L40-137 and installed the Service Pack 1 of Vista.
And now my WLan/Wifi is just deactivated with no information which driver I need or something..
Well, it seems like this is a common issue because i googled lots of similar questions but found no proper answer.
    Some Facts:
    1) The little lamp at the bottom of the keyboard doesnt work
    2) the connectivity doctor just tells me wifi is "deactivated"
    3) fn+f8 does absolute nothing
In case you got any workaround I'd be pretty thankful! :)
    Thanks a lot,
    Heiko

    Hi heiko_1,
That means this happened after Service Pack 1 installation on Windows Vista?!
Well, in my opinion you can solve it with driver reinstallation. Just follow the link posted by Mike30 and download the latest version. This should work.

  • Lan and WLan does not work on Satellite L40-18W

    Hi all
I have TOSHIBA Satellite L40-18W and my problem 1- wireless not work & wired lan does not work.
I have download driver and every thing is ok but it does not work ( when i search by wireless i do not find any network. My router is working fine)
    plzz help meeeee

    Hi
Its hard to understand what you mean by not working.
    What does this mean exactly?
Are you not able to connect to the internet or what?
Usually if the WLan card and the LAN card have been recognized properly in device manager then the drivers are working fine and the issue could be related to wrong router configuration or maybe to some enabled firewalls, etc
Firstly I recommend checking the router settings. Check if the router has been configured with the right data from ISP and if all other common options have been set correctly.
The notebook supports Realtek Wlan and LAN card.
Check if Wlan card uses the same WLan standard like the WLan router and if right encryption has been used too.

  • Re: Satellite L40 PSL48E: Can I create a installation disk from Vista partition

    Hi,
my Satellite L40 PSL48E came with a Vista recovery partition.
As I despise Vista I bought a replacement drive and installed a new hard-drive and installed XP pro.
I retained the original drive in case i ever had to claim under warranty.
I now find that due to work commitments I have to occsionally use the despised Vista rubbish and wonder if it is possible to create a Installation disk from the partition on the original drive so tha ti can create a dual boot system on my new drive.
I am very reluctant to BUY a new Vista CD since I already have a fully legal copy on a drive which I am not using and I will only use it VERY rarely for this one work commitment.
    Any information gratefully received
    Thanks Ron

    OK and thanks.
My next problem is this. I have XP on the main partition and WinRE on the hidden partition. How the heck do I get at the hidden partition. I don't have any boot disks ( none were provided with the machine when I bought it new. Pressing F8 only takes me the the normal XP options Safe boot boot as normal etc.
I've tried f10 and f12 and f11 tas I've seen these suggested on a few newsgroup posts. Anyone got any ideas please.
Toshiba Recovery Disc creatoe seems to be the key from what i read but if this is not present how do i get to the hidden partition and run it?
HELP please. How i hate the fact that manufacturers don't provide a proper CD or DVD anymore it is a right PITA.

  • Satellite L40-18Z: How to merge two partitions into one partition?

    Hello,
I have a satellite L40 with a hard disk drive partitioned into two ( C and E ), one having 37GB capacity the other almonst 36 GB.
The C drive is almost full and the E drive almost empty. I would like to take away the partition and have just one drive, is this possible.
Any advice would be gratefully received. I am not a techi so be kind.
    Regards
    Peter

    Hi
    Of course this is possible
You can do this in disk management.
Just click right on My Computer -> Manage
    Here choose disk management.
Now you have to delete the E partition. Then the free space could be added to the C partition.
But note; before you would do this, create the recovery disk (if you didnt this in the past.)

  • Connect Satellite L555 to older Emerson TV

Is it possible to connect my L555 laptop to an older Emerson TV? Appears the laptop has a VGA output port and the TV has seperate S-Video & S-Audio ports?

The Satellite L555-12V for example support an RGB (VGA out ) external monitor output.
This means that you can connect an external monitor to this notebook.
Furthermore the notebook supports HDMI out port (not sure if your notebook support the HDMI as well) but HDMI port can be used to connect an LCD, plasma or LED TV to the notebook.
But the old TV cannot be connected to the HDMI port so you will need to use the VGA out port. I think you will need a kind of adapter to get the video out on TV.
Search in the internet for *VGA and S-Video Adapter-Cable.*
    You will need such part.

  • Aquiring IP-Address on Satellite L40-14N over WLAN

    Hi,
after managing to enable my WiFi adapter on my Satellite L40-14N I encounter the next problem ... it seem's like I'm not getting an ip-address from my router. I can see my router, and Vista tells me, that I'm connected (kinda), but I don't get an ip-address. All I get is limited connectivity, and the adapter is being some ip-address assigned (I assume from the auto-config feature of windows).
Has anyone any clue, on why this would be?

Well, I should have noted that I already have another computer as well as a PocketPC running, who can access my WLAN router just fine (the other machine is running Windows XP SP2, and the PDA is running Windows Mobile 6.0). So my network is setup fine. Using the ethernet-adapter everything also works fine! Just using the WLAN adapter on the Toshiba doesn't seem to work.
After swithching on WLAN an the Toshiba I can see my network ESSID and I can choose connect to the network. After a while I get a notice with something like "limited connectivity" (I have a german version of Windows XP :)) ). Looking at my router no IP-address has been issued to the Toshiba, although the computer is listed in the WLAN-device list of my router (so the made "contact").
BTW: my router is running a DHCP-Server :)

  • Satellite L40-139 won't start

    ?02-19-2014 06:41 PM - edited ?02-19-2014 06:45 PM
Hello, i have a problem with SATELLITE L40-139
the thing is when i press power button, hard drive diode starts to flash, diode on cd-rom is lighted and the screen is black. I noticed that electornics in the CD-ROM makes a sound tick in the same way the hdd diode flashes (when it flashes i hear a tick form cd-rom, yes i unfolded whole notebook).
I can only say that i connected HDD to my PC and it's working., well fan isn;t working too but i think it will start, after some time (like always it did)
Now lets say about notebook crash circumstances: That was a year ago, it fell from 1 inch (such height ;]) i saw that ribbon cable that was connecting touchpad to the mohterboard was broken, and my computer diidn't start, i thought theres a problem, but i forgot about it and left the notebook for over 9 months (with disassebled hdd, cd-rom and battery) then i decided to try to switch it on.
And viola! it works it boots etc.
So after a month of being happy i got drunk that i couldn't sit on chair and i decided to lie with my laptop on bed, i just lied down and put notebook on my stomach and it crashed (freezed screen) i decided to reboot it, but it won't start.
Heres a video with what i get during powering it up: [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jC0pGBBVwJk] (not luckily my phone fell into mud and lags when i record videos)
Some people suggested that i should connect external display to see if theres any image, but the result is still the same. (Screen does not even power on)
Maybe someone could help me fix it without sending it to customer service.
    Cheers.

    >So after a month of being happy i got drunk that i couldn't sit on chair and i decided to lie with my laptop on bed, i just lied down and put notebook on my stomach and it crashed (freezed screen) i decided to reboot it, but it won't start.
I think the notebook overheated or something like that
Maybe its just an RAM problem and therefore it would be useful to test the unit in connection with new, tested RAM modules but this is only an idea
As Dr.Lamp already said, in worst case it might be a motherboard problem and this would mean that notebook fix would be a costly affair.

  • Satellite L40 will not recognize charger

I have Toshiba Satellite L40 and my laptop will not recognize my charger unless I put pressure onto the charger head when connected to the laptop, and this doesnt always work.
I am not sure if the charger is faulty, so Ive purchased a charger from eBay, but could anything else be wrong with it?
Ive read another old post with someone who had a similar problem, somebody replied to the old post saying that it might be the charger connector on the laptop, and if so this is connected to the motherboard?
Does anybody know if this is correct, or if it's something else? Any advice would be appreciated, as I don't really want to lose the laptop.
    Thanks!!

ok. To put in a easier to understand my laptop will not charge propery with my charger unless i apply pressure to the charger when it's connected to the laptop. Im applying pressure to the top of the charger where in connects to the laptop, and sometimes have to wriggle in around. I'm going to try another charger which I have purchased from ebay.
I Would like to know if it could be anything else? If the charger dock is damaged on the laptop, will i be able to change just the charger dock, or is it a bigger job.....such as the motherboard????

    Hi
    Just one tip;
If you need an office application then I recommend OpenOffice.
Its open source software similar to MS Office and you can use and download it for free!
    Back to your Pain issue;
Paint is a part of the OS Windows. Its not possible to uninstall this.
The paint.exe file is placed in c:\windows\system32\ folder
It seems to be an OS error.... possibly the system is muddled up....
try to clean the OS using the CCleaner...
it cleans the registry and maybe it helps to get rid of this error...
otherwise you will need to reinstall the OS...
