Is it possible to contact servers if Bonjour is blocked?

At work I have Win XP, SP3 and the latest version of iTunes but I can't reach the servers. All I get is a messaged saying they can't be reached and asks if I am online, which I am. I have Mcafee and have managed to figure out that it has blocked Bonjour and if I remember correctly, that's a neccessary "file" needed to contact itunes servers. Can I get around this somehow or do I need to get Bonjour unblocked?

what you are telling i think is too much. I've read your requests and believe me some of them is out of context. One example is listening to radio while being on a call. Who would like to have such options?? It's ridiculous.
But But it doesn't mean all of them are ridiculous! Just like the #1 concerning music, #4 concerning the camera and #5 concerning the volume, I strongly agree with you as it makes sense!
So if I was to write to nokia, which I will do in the coming days is to write them again:
Points #1,4,5,9,11,14,15,24! These are strong points!
People out there, if you want the changes I specified to be done by nokia, you should write them the same points. If only one or two write, it's useless, they won't take it as a priority.
Of course, don't copy paste or they will think the same person is spamming them. I hope it's clear. Write in your own words. Don't think changes will be done by magic or by doing nothing with arms folded. You should do a move.

Is it possible for me to use Bonjour?

I have multiple ethernet drops in my apartment provided by my complex. One is in my bedroom, and one is in the living room.
I have my iMac connected up in my bedroom, and a Graphite AirPort base station in my living room to provide wireless internet access for a few portable devices including my iBook G4.
I was hoping to use my iMac as a file server sort of thing to use with Bonjour. The problem is that, through Bonjour services like iTunes Library Sharing, I don't see my iMac's stuff on the wireless network via my iBook, and my iMac doesn't see my iBook's stuff.
I have noticed that I can access my iMacs files directly from Finder however, by heading to "Go > Connect to Server" in the Menubar, and typing the local IP address of my iMac.
So basically, there are two DHCP servers going on. One that provides an address to my iMac and AirPort Base Station, and the Base Station providing an address to my iBook.
so basically, my iBook's local address is something like 10.0.1.X, and my iMac's and Base Station's addresses are something like 172.20.95.X.
Anything I can do in the AirPort Admin or on my network to enable both of these machines, running Tiger to see each other with Bonjour?

Is your base station acting as a NAT router or a bridge?
From your description it sounds like it's running as a NAT router, where it has one IP address and it shares that address amongst other wireless clients, typically in a 10.1.x.x. subnet.
In bridge mode the base station simply links the wired and wireless networks on the same subnet.
You can toggle the base station settings by checking the 'Distribute IP Addresses' under the Network tab in AirPort Admin. If it's turned on the base station is running as a NAT router, if it's off, it's a bridge.

Trouble validating mail, calendar and contacts servers

First off, I am brand new to working with servers, so bear with me!
I have a registered domain name, we'll call it mine.com. I have configured the hostname of my server to be server.mine.com
I am fiddling with hosting email, contacts and calendars, so I know I need to do some work with DNS records. I have setup an A record with Network Solutions to forward requests for server.mine.com on to my static IP address. First question is should I set the MX record with Network Solutions or in the DNS service on my Mac server?
Once that is figured out, do I need to setup separate A records for each service, or when I set up my clients can I point everything to server.mine.com and expect the client to know where to look?
I have been able to successfully host email only my synology NAS and thought I would try it on my Mac due to push notification support and I have been unsuccessful since changing platforms. I'm so mixed up know I can't even remember the successful config I had on my NAS.
I have read tons of blogs and posts, but I still can't figure this out, and when I think it's right, my clients can't even connect to the server.

I can help you with confusions you might find within the internal DNS set-up and external DNS set-up postings.
(I do need to overhaul those two articles for OS X Server 10.8 and its use of Server.app, but the basics are the same. Just remember to hit the show-all-records button in Server.app, when you're working in DNS.)
I'll assume you have a NAT-capable gateway-firewall-router box at the edge of your network, and that you're not attempting to use OS X Server as a gateway-router-NAT for your internal network.
I generally prefer to have a separate domain name inside the network; either a subdomain of your registered domain, or a separate domain name registered and used only within your gateway firewall.
Your MX record is your mail exchange record, and that would be whichever SMTP server will be hosting your mail for your domain.
If you plan on hosting mail locally, then your ISP will have to set up the reverse DNS translation for your public DNS host name, or other mail servers can and variously will detect the mismatched DNS and will flag your mail server as a spam engine, and drop your outbound messages, and potentially drop messages intended for your mail server.
If you're "fiddling", remember that the DNS resolvers will cache the DNS server responses. Put another way, if you fiddle with the DNS server, remember to flush the resolver cache on the clients before running your tests. (Details on flushing the cache included in the replies to the internal DNS set-up postings.)
If you post your public domain name, somebody here can check your external DNS with a few commands. If not, then launch Terminal.app and enter the commands for your domain example.com:
dig +short example.com MX
dig +short server.example.com
dig +short -x ip.address.returned.by.previous.command
server.example.com is the host name of the mail server returned by the MX query, and the IP address for the third command is the address returned by the second command. The reverse translation (third command) should be the name you used in the second command. To test how other DNS servers detect these same domain names, use Google DNS:
dig +short @8.8.8.8 example.com MX
dig +short @8.8.8.8 server.example.com
dig +short @8.8.8.8 -x ip.address.returned.by.previous.command
On your local DNS server on OS X Server, launch Terminal.app and issue the following (diagnostic, informational) command to verify local DNS is correct:
sudo changeip -checkhostname
FWIW, that "mine.com" domain is a real and registered domain. If you want to obfuscate or document domains, use of example.com, example.org and example.net are reserved for this use by the RFCs.

10.8.2 iCal and Contact Servers giving out wrong certificates

I am flummoxed. I set up a new server a week or two ago in Mountain Lion. I'm hosting an iCal server and a Contacts server. For about two weeks, everything worked fine. Now, the iCal and Calendar servers are trying to hand out certificates to me as a remote user with names I've never heard of and can't explain: one is boswellhome.homeserver.com (see picture below), and the other is actiontec electronics (in the same place as "boswellhome" below). I have no idea who boswell home is, what these certificates are, where they came from, or why there are now there.
In my Server app, everything looks the same as it was - the proper certificates are listed, and in the Manage window, everything is set up properly, with the proper self-signed certificates I set up.
I have no idea what to do. Any ideas?

PROBLEM SOLVED: The certificate was given out by the server which is on a Dynamic public IP address. When the public IP address changed, it was, evidently, grabbed by the boswellhome. Thus, when the clients searched for the original IP address, it "found" the boswell home. So, I updated my A record with the new public IP address, and, voila, everything works again.

Is it possible for two servers to receive broadcasts on the same port?

I'm trying to run multiple instances of a class that creates a UDP socket that receives broadcast packets on a specific port:
socket = new DatagramSocket(port);
The second and succeeding instances get a BindException because the address is already in use. Is there a way to have multiple servers on a specific port?

It works. So now instead of just new DatagramSocket(port), my code now reads:
socket = new DatagramSocket(null);
socket.setReuseAddress(true);
SocketAddress sockAddr = new InetSocketAddress(port);
socket.bind(sockAddr);

Fail when updating iPhone 4 Model error to contact servers or servers unavailable

So, the thing is, my iphone 4 GSM model is on 5.1.1 version, and i wanted to updated officialy on the itunes, i just plug it with the computer then it reads normally, but when i click to update to latest version he starts to extract the software from apple but then it fails, saying that there was an error contacting and maybe the server can be temporarily unavailable, but this was for the whole day! i tried a thousand times.. hope someone helps me ! I have been trying to contact customer service through the chat service for the past 3 days and apparently all of the representatives are "busy" 24 hours a day. iPhone support in Croatia is provided by the carrier and not Apple. You will have to go to the carrier for help, but since it seems you are not a customer you will probably not get much help there.
Going back to your original problem: Did you request an official unlock from your German carrier? Did they send you confirmation that the phone is now unlocked? There is no such thing as an "unlock code".
You should have gotten an email telling you to connect the phone to iTunes and back it up. Then you should have restored the phone as NEW. You should have getten an message on the iTunes screen saying :"Congratualtions, your iPhone is now unlocked". Did all of that happen?
If you did not get the message on iTunes, your phone is NOT unlocked and you will not be able to use a diffrent SIM from the one the carrier is locked to. Contact your carrier to make sure they have processed the unlock.

Same thing just happened to me. I've created a "Spam Call" contact and have been adding numbers to it as they come in. Today is the first time that the phone rang that was named Spam Call. Very disappointing.

Blocked contacts can see they are blocked

Does it happen with everybody? If I block somebody from my contact list they can see that by me showing up in their contact list as a user with a question mark instead of a regular icon. Is there a way to fix it?

2) if you delete a contact he will see a "?"

there's nothing to fix about this... since it just means, this contact doesn't let you see his/her online status...
wanna keep a good image and block them secretly? doesn't even work with msn (if you use AMSN u can also see who's blocking you)

The blocking of calls and text messages is a carrier function. Contact your cell phone carrier to see if they offer this service. There are no iPhone apps that will block phone calls or text messages. If your carrier doesn't provide call or text message blocking is to assign a silent ringtone to the numbers you want blocked and ignore them.
