Is it possible to control users home page in firefox from server?

is it possible to control users home page in firefox from server?

Maybe OP means for their network users using Workgroup Manager?
I don't think there is a way to do it for firefox.
Unless you can put in a Firefox pref file in their directory when they log in.

  • How can I manage new Firefox for Mac on my network. Control users Home Pages for Mobile User Accounts.

I am running Mac Computers in a School. Current Mountain Lions OS and current Firefox Browser. We log in using mobile accounts. How can we manage Firefox so all users get the same home page and settings.
If I can do locally or through a profile, that would be great

hello, you could use the mozilla.cfg file in the firefox program folder in order to lock or set certain preferences - here is some general information on how to set that up: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences
and specific guide to set the homepage can be found here: http://mike.kaply.com/2012/08/29/setting-the-default-firefox-homepage-with-autoconfig/ (this blog also contains may other helpful resources for deploying firefox)

  • In BD87  T /c  is it possible to control user based in Comp code...?

In BD87  T /c  is it possible to control user based in Comp code...?
    Thanks
    Mahi

BD87 is a transaction to work with IDOCs.
one IDOC e.g. for vendor master can have several segments with different company codes.
But you cannot post an IDOC only partially, that is technically not possible and does not make much sense.
Further the IDOC segment in the table is just one huge field, It does not have single fields like company code.It is a generic field that can keep the segments of any IDOC.
In my opinion there is no way to control it at company code level.
In any case you posted it in the wrong forum. BD87 is not a MM transaction.
Hence, moving it to the Abap Connectivity forum

  • Firefox 4 and the previous 3.x version fail to update changed user home pages? After reboot the ancent home pages reappear and the replace the now ones. Why & how to fix this software bug?

    - Firefox 4.0 is used as preferred browser
    - One can change the user home pages. The new homepages are found & work ok after closing and reopening Firefox.
    - However, after rebooting the laptop (HP Elitebook), old Firefox home pages reappear, they replace the new ones.
    - If I remember correctly this bug appeared already prior Firefox 4.0, this malfunction/ bug was noted in some last winter version before the v 4.0.
    - Help/ Bug fix is appreciated!

  • How to make first page my home page, not Firefoxe's privacy page

Before version 29 Firefox brought up my home page -- the only one. Now, no matter what I specify to be the home page the Firefox "privacy" page is loaded first with my home page as a secondary (and not shown) page.
Loading the privacy page wastes CPU time and is aggravating. How do I turn off that over-riding, default page?

This can be caused by problems with the file(s) that store preferences and possibly other files like the compatibility.ini file.
You may have security software that protects some files against changes.
Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • How can I set the opening home page of FIrefox to display the current bookmarks. This used to work with bookmarks.html but I understand this file is no longer current.

I wish to display my current bookmarks as my opening home page in Firefox. I do not wish to use the Bookmarks sidebar instead. It used to work to open with bookmarks.html, which was and still is stored in my Firefox profile. However, I understand this file is no longer kept current but is only retained for legacy/compatibility reasons, and that the current bookmarks info is now stored in places.sqlite, etc. Is there a way with the new versions of Firefox to display as a full opening webpage the assuredly current bookmarks? Thank you

    Hi Jaime,
Are you saying, you are getting junk characters in the email attachment? Then pls check the following. Since you want to send Japanese fonts, please pass language 'J' in both  objpack-obj_langu = '3' & doc_chng-obj_langu  = '3' instead of '3' please replace it with 'J'.
Another thing which you may have to check is the SCOT device type. As I understand from my basis colleague, this may also affect your attachment fonts since the emails are sent through SCOT. Go to transaction SCOT-> Settings-> Device types for format conversion. Check whether wrong device type is defined for Japanese there. Hope this helps
    Regards,
    Gokul

  • How do I get back my old home page on firefox?

I carefully created a home page on Firefox, and it has disappeared with a blank opening page now.
I would like my old home page back. How do I do this?

You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.
Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
Current Firefox versions use the default search engine (pref: browser.search.defaultenginename) to set the search engine that is used on the about:home page.
Check the <b>browser.search.defaultenginename</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page and make sure that it is set to the default value Google.
    *browser.search.defaultenginename
    Currently selected search engine:
    *browser.search.selectedEngine

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • How do I set a "normal" home-page in Firefox for Android? (instead of the "awesome screen")

How do I set a "normal" home-page in Firefox for Android? I don't want the homepage to be the "awesome screen" (which I personally don't find to be very awesome - way too much going on in one page for a small smartphone screen).
I just want a regular home page that I can set myself. For example, in Firefox for my personal laptop, I've set my homepage Google.com. In Firefox on my work computer, I've set my homepage to our company intranet login. I really prefer and need this flexibility in setting my home page.
In Firefox for Android, if I go into Settings/Customize/Homepage , the only options I see for changing the home page is to de-select certain items on the "awesome screen". There's no option to set a URL address for a normal homepage. If I de-select/hide all the items on the awesome screen, I simply get a blank home page (no web page, just a prompt telling me to enter a URL address).
The other major browsers for Android allow me to set a "normal" home page. Firefox is my favorite browser for my laptop. I wish I could get it to work normally for Android. :( :( :(

hello betsy, at the moment such a feature is not implemented in firefox, but as a workaround you can add a bookmark to a site to the homescreen of your phone, which should have the same effect: [[Use bookmarks on Firefox for Android to keep track of your favorite websites]]

  • I have My.MSN for my home page and firefox will not load the information on movie theaters AND my stock pics. It used to work fine but after last update these features no longer work

When I load my home page, the items MOVIES THEATER and my STOCK QUOTES will not load. If I try to make ANY changes to my home page it changes from my.msn.com changes to my.msn.com/x and nothing will happen.
If I loan MSN and copy the address bar and paste it to the Firefox browser, it will load properly the first time BUT will not load properly again.

Do you actually know what the issue is, or are you simply rambling?

  • "my home page only start from the tabs bar I don't see the top of the homepage

I have a problem loading my Home page I don't see the top of the home page as the home page only starts from the tab bar I don't see the backward and forward arrows or the menu please tell me how to reload FireFox so that the full home page loads.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== Home page only start from the tabs bar I want to see the top part of the home page

Press ALT or F10 in your keyboard to make the Menu Bar temporarily visible. If you want it to be permanently visible, go into ''View > Toolbars > Menu Bar'', or right-click the Navigation Toolbar (the Reload button, for example) and select ''Menu Bar''.
If this doesn't help, right-click the navigation toolbar, select ''Customize...'' and click ''Restore Default Set''. If it doesn't appear right away, try pressing ALT or F10. You can go into ''View > Toolbars > Menu Bar'' to make it permanently visible, or right-click the Navigation Toolbar and select ''Menu Bar''.
If none of this helps, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Try disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal.

  • My firefox home page looks different from your tutorial

I am trying to learn to use firefox. Sometimes the firefox home page looks different from the one in your tutorial. Fox example, now I am looking above and the "plus sign" symbol to add a new tab is not there. Please advise me. Thank you.

You can find the New Tab button showing as a '+' on the Tab bar.
You can open the Customize window and drag the New Tab button that shows as a plus sign (+) from the Tab bar on another toolbar and it will become a regular toolbar button like the New Tab button that you have in Firefox 3 versions.
If you can't find the New Tab button then click the "Restore Default Set" button in the Customize window.
If you want the New Tab button at the far right end of the Tab bar then place a flexible space to the left of it.

  • Is there some way to PERMINENTLY stop Incredimail from chaning my home page on firefox

I enjoy using Firefox for too many reasons to mention. I also enjoy using Incredimail. However, each time Incredimail is updated it changes my home page on firefox. I've made changes to Incredimail that were suggested by their tech support people but again, each update puts Incredimails search page on.
    Any suggsestions from your side?

Safari Preferences > Tabs (in Safari 7)
There is an option there for specifying how new pages open
