Is it possible to create a text link to a video in an interactive pdf

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew how to create a text link to a video within the same interactive pdf?
I've seen that you can create buttons to link to video's but nothing about linking from text
thanks in advance for any assistance

HI Bernd,
The video above does not show me how to link to a video have it start playing.
I know it is also possible in indesign to have a button link to a specific point in a video, but I haven't been able to find out how to do that from a text link.
so for example. the text could say "watch our video, or click here to learn about subject two".
where - "learn about subject two" takes the user to a specific part of the video, and makes it start to play.

Yes, Its very much easy in R2 as compared to R1. You can use following link to achieve your requirement:

  • How do you create a text link to jump to a row in numbers

Short: How do I create some simple link from Row 1 Cell 1 showing December, to jump my screen down to row 300 for example?
I want to do this because I use numbers for a 365 days per row long spreadsheet, and collumn A B C D E are staff names, it's alike a daily booking calendar for employees for me to see availability.
I have made the top header row of staff names frozen, so when I stroll down I see the staff names above each collumn, useful. I have also added a row under this and want to write each month, e.g. Jan, Feb, Mar and turn those to links, taking me directly to the row in the spreasheet. How on earth does one do this?
I have searched: internal link, simple link to a row, internal shortcut, internal link and others, can not find it in this forum, google or the help.
    Thanks
    Andy

This script isn't based on a Numbers 09 script so I don't know if it works the same way, but it seems to work ok in Numbers 3.5.
The dates (Jan 1, Jan 2... Dec 31) must be formatted as text, NOT as date and time.
For ease of reference the table is called Holiday Planner. The script must be updated if this is changed.
The top of the table looks like this:
    This is the script:
    set esc_key to 53
    tell application "Numbers"
      activate
set the_month to (choose from list {"Jan", "Feb", "Mar", "Apr", "May", "Jun", "Jul", "Aug", "Sep", "Oct", "Nov", "Dec"} ¬
with prompt "Which month do you want to jump to?")
if the result is false then return
set the_month to the_month as string
      tell document 1
      tell active sheet
      tell table "Holiday Planner"
set the_row to item 1 of (every row where ((value of cell 1) begins with the_month))
      set selection range to the_row
      tell application "System Events"
      key code esc_key
      end tell
      set selection range to the_row
      end tell
      end tell
      end tell
    end tell
One cosmetic problem is that when you jump "onwards" in the calendar as opposed to "backwards", the first row of the month appears at the bottom of the window rather than at the top. I'm not sure there's any way of fixing that.
Save the script in your ~/Library/Scripts/Numbers/ folder and then you can run it from the Numbers script menu:
    Hope it's useful.

  • Is it possible to create a Text Variable that uses text from a structure?

    The question is this -
I have created structure which consists of 4 high-level nodes. Each level one node contains a different number of level 2 nodes. Is it possible to use the text from these nodes in replacement path variables?
    Example, my structure levels are:
    GS
    SA
    OOI
    COGS
If a user drills into COGS, I'd like to display the text "COGS" in the header but I have not found a way to capture it. From what I can tell, the variable editor only allows Characteristics and their text/key or user input text. I don't see an option for Structure level/node text.
Anyone know if this is even possible?
    Thanks!

    HI!,
I think you should separate programming for AS3 and for FLEX,
this is beacuse they both use different class packages. If you want
your classes to be FLEX compatible you need to extend them from
Flex Objects and not from AS3 Objects.
In sum, if you want your class to be processed by let's say
the application object then you need to extend it from
    mx.core.UIObject.
This is because there are lots of methods that FLEX uses to
place your class on the screen that are not used by normal AS3
    applications.

  • Is it possible to create an HTML link?

I made a post earlier asking for a method to edit an existing PDF document and create a UNC link.  The post had several views but nobody responded saying if it was or was not possible to do such a thing using Acrobat SDK.
I thought perhaps if I simplified the requirement a little by changing the link type to an HTML link that might get a better response.
Example of what I need to do:
    We the people
    needs to be changed to:
    I am people
This is certainly doable when using Acrobat 9.  It puts a visible rectangle around the string.  Which would work as well, if there is a way to do it using the SDK.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Is it possible to create a custom, linking desktop background?

Hey everyone. I have a computer running Windows 7 connected to my TV as a media center. Since I only use the computer to run the internet or Plex Media Center, I'm trying to create a clean looking desktop with large links to each program and nothing else.
I've tried increasing the size of the default shortcut links, and that works to a point, but I would like something with a little more customization. I realize that Active Desktop is gone with 7, so if anyone has any idea of a way to make this possible, please
    let me know.
Here is a link to the image of what I would (ideally) end up with: mslewiswrites.com/images/wallpaper.jpg.
The two areas on the right that are bordered in lighter blue would be the links (the entire rectangles), with the rest just being a plain image background.
Any help is appreciated. I'm willing to install third-party software as needed, providing it isn't resource hungry.
    Thanks!

  • Possible to create a hyperlink in excel to a bookmark in a PDF?

My boss would like to be able to click on a hyperlink in excel, and it would take him directly to a bookmarked item in a PDF.  After searching I've come up empty handed.  Is this even possible?  He swears he's seen it done before, but then again, he's been wrong in the past - so who knows.
    Any help is appreciated!

    No, it's not possible.

  • How to remove underlining on text links in Muse...

    Hi,
Anyone know how to remove the annoying underlining of text links in Muse. I have of course, styled my link to have no underline - which in Muse works, but doesn't once online.
Even better - does anyone know how to create a hover style via Muse? I used to do it via Dreamweaver no problem - but haven't had any luck with Muse so far.
And is it possible to style 2 text links within a sentence? It only seems to be able to style the whole sentence rather than the just the links
If anyone out there can help?
    Laura

Not to worry - worked it out!
For anyone who doesn't know, go to File/Site Properties and click on the Text tab. Its all there!

  • Text Links (Hyperlinks) Designer 8.0

I have designed a form in Designer 8.0 and some of my text needs to be linked to parts of a website.
I know you can enter links in Adobe Acrobat but once the tds file is turned into pdf this functionality is blocked.
I have tried many things, with no luck.
So if you know how to create a text link or alter the security settings once in a pdf that would be great!
Thanks in advance and fingers crossed.
    Rachael

I am pretty much a novice.
    I have been using xfa.host.gotoURL("http://www.xyz.com/test.html");
which does not work with an invisible button so I create a custom button that looks like a text field. I do not know how to
implement your approach which will no doubt work with an invisible button. (I am using LifeCycle Designer 8).
I would appreciate a specific example and, if possible, to show me how to open the URL in a new window. My approach
    xfa.host.gotoURL("http://www.xyz.com/test.html" target="_blank");
    fails.
I would be grateful to you for any tips you can offer.

  • Textfield text link to run a javascript

I created a text link in a textfield by highlighting the text then right clicking and selecting hyperlink. The hyperlink panel opens up but it only allows for a website to be entered as far as I can tell. I would like to run a javascript onclick instead of opening a web page, is this possible?
    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the quick response George. I tried that also and it didn't work  . Security restrictions doesn't make sense though because I can use the hyperlink tool over the text and and run a javascript from it. The only problem with that method is it doesn't work with a scrollable textfield.

  • Creating curved text

    Hi all,
i'm playing around with the graphics features of flex 4, and i'm wondering if
it's possible to create curved text with fxg.
Specifically, i'd like to create a round button component, where the label is curved.
Anoyne knows it's possible to accomplish this ?
    thanks!

In theory you could curve text with fxg but it would be a lot of work, there are plenty of options to do text curving including using a filter to apply a curvature to a text field. The link below is interesting as3 way for text curvature.

And this link is about the fxg specification

  • Changing the Name of Text Links to a File

I happily discovered that iWeb will create download links to files such as text, spreadsheet, word processing, PDF, and the like, if you zip them. However, when I create a text link to a file, the linked text takes on the name of the file, such as YourDownload.zip, rather than keeping the description I entered when creating the link. So links to files don't work the same way that links to URLs or other web pages within a site do, in that the link path (the URL) is separate from the name or description of the link. Is there a way around this apart from using graphics objects for the links?
Any advice would be most appreciated.

Once the text link is created you can go back, select the text and change the name to anything you want. It doesn't have to the the name of the zipped file. An annoyance but easily overcome.

  • How to create a database link on an ms acces data source

    Hello every body
Is it possible to create a database link on an MS access data source under
    oracle 10 g and Apex ?
If yes how to do it ?
    Thanks in advace

I don't know what Apex is!!! But try to follow these instructions.
    It works for Oracle 9i.
As far as I know, you are supposed to have installed other than ORACLE Client to complete these instructions.
    1. Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Data Sources (ODBC)
    Folder: System DSN /
    click add
    Choose : Microsoft Access Driver
    Data Source Name : my_test
    Description : any_description_you_want
    click Database/Select... : full pathname for <your_file.mdb>
    click OK
    Click OK
    2. Goto OH\hs\admin:
2.1) Create a copy of "inithsodbc.ora" file giving it this name:
    initmy_test.ora
2.2) Edit "initmy_test.ora" and change as below.
    # HS init parameters
    HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = my_test
    HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = OFF
    3. Add this entry to listener ( Don't forget to stop/start the listener )
    (SID_DESC =
    (SID_NAME = my_teste)
    (ORACLE_HOME = <Path to OH> ) ### Ex: D:\ORANT901
    (PROGRAM = hsolesql)
    4. Now you need to add entries to point to the HS in the tnsnames.ora :
    access =
    (DESCRIPTION=
    (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=<your_host>)(PORT=1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA=(SID=my_test))
    (HS=my_test)
    5. Now you need to go into the database and create the database link:
    CREATE PUBLIC DATABASE LINK "ACCESS_DB" USING 'access';
    6. select * from your_table@ACCESS_DB;

  • See Also with a text link

Previously, when I have generated a CHM file, I have been
using a hidden See Also control with a text link for "related
topics". In WebHelp this does not seem to work. Is this correct, or
is it in any way possible to use a text link in this way with
    WebHelp?
    Regards,
    Rannveig Østevik

    Hi Rannveig
    Typically it goes like this.
    1. Insert RelatedTopics control and note name by hovering the
control. Should be RelatedTopics if it is the first, object1 or
OBJECT1 if the second (depending on how the control was inserted)
    2. Select the text your user will click to activate the
control and perform the same steps as if you were linking to
    another page.
    3. In the Hyperlink dialog, instead of listing the path to
the page, type JavaScript:RelatedTopics.Click(). Note that if the
control name is object1 or OBJECT1, you substitute this for
    RelatedTopics.
    Hopefully this helps... Rick :)

  • Create Custom InDesign Links inside CSAW like in ExtendedLink

    Hi
I am wondering if it is possible to create custom InDesign links like in the InDesign SDK's ExtendedLink plugin inside a Flash Extension using CS InDesign SDK (csaw_indesign.swc) ?
Looking at the CSAW documentation I can only obtain Link information but not create a link let alone to create a custom one because of the missing LinkResource.

    Hi --
I'm using iTunes 11.0.4 on OSX 10.8.4 and am having a hard time following your instructions to create a ringtone from a snippet of a .mp3 file using iTunes:
    1) Select a favourite song in iTunes program to be made into Ringtone... CHECK!
    2) "Get Info" on that song name and make any 0:30 seconds portion of that song.... CHECK !
    3) Right-click or Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Create AAC Version" to create an .m4a file... PROBLEM!
It's when I hit Step 3 that I have a problem -- my "right click menu" at that point looks like this:
There's no option to "create AAC version." Nor does this option appear anywhere in iTunes that I can find.
It really shouldn't be this confusing to create a freaking ringtone. HELP PLEASE!
