Hello - can anyone tell me if it is possible to curve words/text into an arc in Pages, similar to doing it in MS WordArt? I'd like to curve words around an image, sort of like creating a logo. Any ideas are appreciated.

Curving text in Pages directly is not possible in either iOS or OSX versions. There are apps for OSX that can do it - Art Text 2 is one that works well. As for iOS, there don't seem to be any apps I could find that do what you want. Best bet: curve your text on a Mac and import into iPad if needed there.

We would like to convert a PDF, an HTML, a DOCX, and some custom text into 1 single PDF/A. Basically: joining 3 different files types and some text into 1 very long PDF/A file. Can we do this type of join?
Also, we would like to install LiveCycle on a central server and then call a web service or use an API where we can input the 3 different files and the text and as output we would get 1 PDF/A back. Obviously there might be intermediary steps, but in essence we need to be able to do this conversion from our custom code by calling some LiveCycle API.

Is it possible to add text to a non-fillable form using Reader DC?

TLDR: Can I add text to a form (e.g., fill it out) using Adobe Reader DC on Windows, or can that only be done with "fillable" forms? If so, how?
I'm attempting to fill out a fairly lengthy "paper" form. The form is not a fillable form, it is a government form that is downloadable for printing but for whatever reason the government agency chose not to enable the "fillable" feature.
On my Mac, I can just use the "text box" tool in the Preview app to add all of the text that I need to complete this form.
On Adobe Reader DC, which is installed on my Work PC running Windows 8, nothing happens when I click the "fill and sign" button and the features displayed in the online tutorial simply don't show up. There's no text tool. I just see the "hand" icon. When I right-click, I get an option for the Select tool, which enables me to select text, but doesn't allow me to add a text box. The web tutorial says there should be a menu somewhere with an icon to add a text box, but that icon is just straight up missing.
I am very confused by this software. I am not an idiot with computers; but I am a bit old, and I'm more used to keyboards, toolbars, and windows than this "pane" based touch-oriented approach. The toolbar up top seems to be limited to a "pane selector" between Home, Tools (which just reveals a panel of icons most of which are links to cloud services that I don't want), an then a few file handling icons. On the right there is a little panel that says "get started" and offers only two clickable functions, "Send & Track" and "Get Others to Sign" neither of which reveals any text tools.
Now, the answer to my question very well may be "no" which is fine, I'll just keep using my Mac for the task since I know that it works, but I'd really like to be able to leave my personal computer and get everything done within Windows. Surely this isn't one of those things that can only be done on a Mac or with expensive third-party software on a PC. But the web seems to insist that this is a thing that should be both possible and simple. Is it?

Is it possible to edit text in a pdf form created using an earlier version of LiveCycle?

I created a form starting with a Microsoft Word document, turned it into a Adobe Acrobat PDF and then turned it into a fillinable form using the LiveCycle Designer that used to be imbedded in the Adobe Acrobat program a couple of years ago. Now that they have upgraded my Adobe Acrobat to the version that doesn't have LiveCycle Designer included (but given me the now separate LiveCycle Designer program), I can't seem to edit or add text to an existing form.
If I create (re-create) the form in the new Adobe Acrobat program, then I can go back and edit either the base document or directly in the form.
But I can't do that on my old forms. Is that true or am I missing something?

I don't know if it is the best solution but you could filter the results to just that client's answers on the summary tab and then PDF that.

Drag & Drop Text into place holder while Matching style. Possible?

Is it possible to drag text into a placeholder text box and have the dragged text assume the style of the placeholder text? I know that I can "paste and match style" which I use constantly but I am trying to build a template for other people to use and would love for them to simply be able to drag & drop text into a template. It seems like this would be the default behavior for a template but it does not seem to be.
Am I missing something obvious?

Seriously, I think that you hit a design flaw. Here we are end users trying to help end users. We are unable to change the program behavior.
_Go to "Provide Pages Feedback" in the "Pages" menu_, describe what you wish.
Then, cross your fingers, and wait _at least_ for iWork'09

Keep options: Select the paragraph, then CtrlAltK (Mac: CmdOptK, I
think).
If you want the paragraphs in pairs, create two paragraph styles. Style
A has keep options set to start on a new page, and also, its Next Style
is style B.
Style B has no keep options, but it's Next Style is Style A.
Select all the text.
From the flyout menu of the paragraph styles palette, apply Style A
"then next style."
Now all paragraphs will be alternating -- style A, style B, style A, etc.
Now do what I wrote initially, and you'll have pairs of paragraph in
separate text frames.

You can import the pdf as an image but it is not editable.
If you are after the text, open it in Preview and copy the text and paste it wherever you want, or open it in Adobe Acrobat Pro and convert it into a Word .doc.

Inserting text into a Pages document with Applescript

I want to create a Pages document from a custom template but be able to insert text at various points in the document (inputted data under headings etc). I would like to use Applescript but cannot get insertion points to work, is this possible? As usual, all help gratefully accepted.

Long Text into BI

Hi Guys,
I have to bring long text (7000 characters long) from table STXL into BI. I went through the discussions on the forum without much help. One option is to split the text into multiple infoobjects and joining them in analyzer. This option is not practically possible for me because of the text length.
I enhanced an existing datasource with a new filed and tried to populate the field from the text field in STXL table. The challenge now is to bring the field into BI. Someone mentioned in the forum that we can write couple of function modules (READ_TEXT and GUI_DOWNLOAD) to extract the text into BI as a file and write another program in BI and load the text into documents of infoobject. Is this the only option available?
Can you please send some sample code on ECC and BI for this purpose? Also, If I want to display the document in excel analyzer, will it be available as a separate column in the report?

Not easily. Two possibilities:
1) If all the events have some common feature (eg you have included "XXX" in all the summaries), search for that feature then select and copy the found items at the bottom of the window. You can then paste them into TextEdit or a spreadsheet for printing
2) You could write an Applescript to locate the events and write them into a text file for printing.
The first one will probably give you what you want.
