Is it possible to delete files on iDisk?

I am under the trial period for .mac. I did a site with iWeb and uploaded it, but redid it to make it easier to use (and load faster.) Can I delete the files that I already have on .mac, so that it does not count against my space and I have to buy more for what is supposed to be a "free" trial period.
Thanks in advance,
George Bartley

Thank you very much for your reply - but I am really new to this. I went to the Go Menu - chose My iDisc: Web: Sites - there were three folders in there 1) a folder with the assets, etc, 2) index.html and 3) Sites:rss. Can I delete all three to gain more space?

  • Is it possible to delete files from time machine?

    Is it possible to delete files from time machine? I had a drive crash, restored the files to a new drive, and now the old versions and the new versions of the files are both backed up, taking up a mountain of drive space. Do I just have to wait 'til the drive gets full and then tell it what to delete first?

    Hi, I need help in a related problem. I have 500gb time capsule. I needed larger hard drive, so I now use TM to back up to a different 1tb hard drive. So I don't need the TC as a TM back up device. But I want to use the TC's hard drive as an extra external hard drive. I deleted the files that were on it. but it still shows it has a sparsebundle file with a size of over 400gb ( probably the size of the old backups). When I use disk utility to try to erase it, I am not offered the erase tab. This "disk" does show on the desk top as a mounted disk (I think) with only 53 gb free. How can I set this up so all the disk space is free and I can use it for storing files, not as a back up? Thanks

  • Deleting files from iDisk

    I've successfully uploaded a web site using iWeb, but now I would like to delete a couple of Web Galleries from iDisk. From the Finder I go to GO>my iDisk, but the spinning wheel spins and spins, nothing happens. I left it connected all night. Still nothing. How can I delete files, or what am I doing wrong to access iDisk.

    Many thanks. It worked like a charm. The reboot gave me the iDisk in no time and I was able to take off a couple of photo galleries, plus I went to Aperture and deleted a gallery and it immediately published the deletion to iDisk. I'm starting to get the hang of this. Thanks again.

    When I've had this trouble I've always been able to delete such files using the MobileMe Web interface.

    Is it possible to recover deleted files from the Microsoft Word app for iPhone? I am desperate.

    From the Microsoft Word app they say "Access Word documents from OneDrive, Dropbox, iCloud, OneDrive for Business, or SharePoint" so it sounds like you can specify where they are saved. However, my guess would be that the default will be OneDrive.

    Is it possible to retrieve deleted files from the cloud i.e. contacts?

    If you have an iCloud backup of an iOS device that was made while the contacts were still on it, you may be able to restore them from the backup by following this user tip from Winston Churchill: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4841.

  • Is it possible to delete a file that has been backed up?

    Hi,
    Before doing a backup with Time Machine, I forgot to tell it NOT to backup a certain file that is fairly large. Now that the backup is complete, this large file is on my external hard drive and is backed up. But I want to delete this file from the backup----is it possible to do this, or am I stuck with it backed up now?
    Thanks!

    yes, it's possible. select this file in finder and start TM. click on the "gears" action button in Finder's toolbar and select "delete all backups of this item".

  • Deleting files from Time Machine not possible

    Prior to Mavericks it was possible to delete specific files or directories form all TM backups using the action menu.
    this option no longer appears. this is an issue since it is no longer possible to prune the backups (remove files you really don't want to keep).
    I know it is possible to exclude directories from backup (beforehand) but this does not cover removing files after they have been backed up..

    It was always fraught to remove anything from Time Machine and I have read somewhere that there is now a bug that the engineers are working on.   It appears you cannot go back beyond the date you download Mavericks.
    Perhaps someone will come into the thread who knows more about this.

    Hi, I use xfce and I would like to know if it is possible to remove trash support and delete files instantly without having to hold shift key.

    @zoid Thanks i 'll give thunar no-trash a try.
    @david batson If i uninstall gvfs then I wouldn't be able to use removable devices, not to mention that files actually move to trash but there is no way of accessing it
    @lmsguer That's what I do so far.

  • Is it possible to restore file if it was deleted from the reciclebin

    Hi p,
    Do you have a backup? Time Machine?
    If not, there is not way to resurrect files without data recovery software (or service) such as the following:

  • Delete file from folder only (not from list)

    Hi all,
    I've searched a lot and didn't succeed so far, that's why I need your help. In a cloud context, I'm actually creating and uploading files (pdf and/or xml files) "on the go" to sharepoint folders via the SOAP API and this is perfectly working. But
    in a cloud context, I also need to decomission services which is translated into deleting files into Sharepoint.
    That's where it became complicated, because according to the API we cannot delete files if they are not part of a list structure, which is not my case. Is that true ?
    The only info I have when trying to delete a file via the SOAP Api is : its name, its folder, and the endpoint where the folder is. So my question remains simple I guess : is this possible ? If so, how to (a link to the SOAP body would be usefull)
    Thanks a lot
    Regards
    Baptiste

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to delete file from folder.
    In SharePoint 2010, It is recommended to use Client Object Model to achieve it, the following code snippet for your reference:
    string siteURL = "http://siteurl";
    ClientContext context = new ClientContext(siteURL);
    //specific user
    NetworkCredential credentials = new NetworkCredential("username", "password", "domain");
    context.Credentials = credentials;
    Web web = context.Web;
    context.Load(web);
    context.ExecuteQuery();
    string relativeUrl =web.ServerRelativeUrl +"/DocumentLibraryName/FolderName/FileName";
    File file = web.GetFileByServerRelativeUrl(relativeUrl);
    context.Load(file);
    file.DeleteObject();
    context.ExecuteQuery();
    If you still want to use SOAP API, we can use the UpdateListItems method under Lists web service to achieve it.

    1) read directory with fm EPS_GET_DIRECTORY_LISTING
    2) process table dir_list
    and 3) finally delete files with
    abap command:  DELETE DATASET dsn.
    hope that helps
