Is it possible to disable security prompts on AT&T BlackBerry Curve???

Hello all. I wrote an SMS application that successfully works on my BlackBerry 8310 (on AT&T Wireless). However, everytime I run the application, I get this annoying security prompt that says, "application <my application> has attempted to access the network. Would you like to allow this?". Is there any way I can get rid of this, as it has become VERY tedious to answer this prompt everytime I run the application. I have already gone into options-->advanced options-->permissions and have set everything to "allow" for my application with no success. I've been reading up on this subject and my first inclination would be to assume that it may not be possible due to AT&T/Cingular locking down the phone via the security domain built into the handset:
(http://developer.att.com/developer/printArticle.jsp?detailId=11300207)
However, I have read in some places that people were hacking their j2me_domain_registry.sm file with some limited success. I did not see that anyone did this with a BlackBerry though. Has anyone had any experience or know of a way to achieve this. I don't even know how to go about finding this file on the BlackBerry as all the examples deal with non-GSM (CDMA) phones and they primarily deal with Motorola V3XX series. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • How to disable security prompts on OS X?

    How do I disable securty prompts when installing new programs? Below are some examples of what I mean. Also sometimes it asks for my password. It's very annoying. I want to turn these warnings and password promps off completely.
    Thank you

    I have nothing against security but this prompt is an ineffective, basically useless feature. I downloaded the program in question, I clicked on it asking for it to be installed on my computer - this means that I wish for this program to be on my Mac. These prompts are not telling me anything I don't already know, i.e. that the application is from the internet and that I want to open it. Reminds me of Windows Vista with its never ending prompts.
    A much more useful feature would be a behind the scenes scan of the download file to see if it has any viruses or malware.
    But once you have accepted the install, then the fault no longer lies with Apple, but with you and/or the Third Party developer, making Apple exempt from blame if you stuff up your system with it. Simple business practice for protection. Keep clicking OK all you want, but don't come back here crying if your OSX has been severly compromised. A lot of us take security of our systems quite seriously.

  • Possible to disable password prompt when installing aps?

    Trying out a Macbook pro to decide if I want to keep it or not. I own an IT company and am a PC user, so this is a new environment for me.
    When I install programs, it prompts me for authentication to do so. This is as annoying in this OS as it was in Windows, but at least I know where to disable it in windows. So far, I have been unable to find it in this OS and the security options in preferences has nothing at all for this option.
    Thanks for any assistance to the noob.

    Hi John;
    When I worked for IBM, I can't remember how many times users would be migrated from Winders boxes to Unix ones because their need for power had increased. Once migrated over to Unix they started to griping about the password prompt of Unix. They would carry on like it was the end of the world. After I told them, my manager told them and my manager told their manager that it was a feature of Unix, they would finally stop griping. I doubt that they were happy but at least they stopped bugging me.
    I would usually suggest they move back to Winders but everyone of them felt that the Unix box was far more powerful so they remained with it. They never seemed satisfied enough with the extra power of the Unix workstation to overlook the password prompt. I really find that surprising.

  • Disable Security prompt or message in dos command line

    Dear all,
    I am working on :
    - Windows 2003 server
    - Office 2007
    - Adobe Acrobat 9 standard
    When I run a dos command :
    C:\WWI>"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\acrodist.exe" /n /q /o "C:\WWI\PS2PDF\Document1.PDF"  C:\WWI\PS2PDF\Document1.PS"
    I always have a confirmation message : "Confirm Security" with 3 options : Edit, Clear and Retain.
    My concern is to not display this prompt because the job is in a batch mode.
    So, could you please help me ?
    Anybody know if exist a command switch or a registry key in order to force Acrobat distiller to apply the defaults security parameters with a unique password ?
    I have contacted the Adobe support but nobody can help me.
    See below how I set parameters up in Adobe PDF printer and security settings
    Thank you for your help and assistance

    Distiller Server is discontinued, so I don't think Adobe intend Distiller to be run unattended any more.

  • Is it possible to disable security sandbox for debugging local asset files?

    It would help our team out immensely if we were able to find a way that someone could have a network-hosted swf load files locally off your machine, without setting up the machine as a web server.
    I realize this is a security sandbox violation. What I am asking is if there is a way around this, in the flash player debugger, through some other tool, etc.
    The basic idea is that many of the people who create assets (pngs, jpegs, swfs) need to be able to test their work locally before uploading it to our servers.
    Thanks.

  • Disable security copy for certain application

    I keep receiving an error when disabling the photo appication in the cloud.
    I am out of space in iCloud therefore I would like to recover space by removing photos and videos in the cloud, but I keep receiving error "At the moment it is not possible to disable security copies, try later" (something like that, translated from spanish).
    Any idea?
    Mirko

    Thanks to Apple telephone support I managed to solve this. Problem is that backup in the cloud is shared by both iPhone and iPad, though the problem reported when disabling the photo application is other (..try later).
    To solve this, I went to the iPad and not only stopped syncing to the cloud, but disconnected the iPad from it.
    Then in the iPhone it'll be possible to recover space by disabling whatever application from iCloud backup. Once you're done, you can connect the iPad back to the cloud.
    Tricky, but it works.

    You can disable FaceTime via Restrictions.  So head to Settings -> General -> Restrictions and make sure that at least the FaceTime restriction has been turned On.

  • Is it possible to disable invoice for recurring billing (secure zones)?

    Is it possible to disable invoice for recurring billing (secure zones)?  It is possible to send receipts of payments instead of invoices?

    If your user has fully paid for the secure zone, the invoice will indicate this when it's sent so really it's a sales receipt at that point.  There's no way to have multiple types of invoice email layouts so if your client will never need to send out an invoice manually to receive payment and all your invoices are sent out after the order has been created and paid for, then you can just update your invoice email layout to reflect that it's a Sales Receipt.
    You can update your email layouts by logging into the BC Admin area and goint to Site Manager > System Emails > Invoice

  • Please let us disable update prompts

    Forgive me for my frustrated tone (or don't)...
    I'm getting so tired of this **bleep**. Why on earth isn't there an option to disable update prompts? Every single time I start up skype I get an update pop-up. Twice. I've searched for solutions, but none of them worked for me. This should just be an option within the client itself, even if hidden under an "advanced" tab to stay in line with how dumb you assume your users are. Possibly the most mind boggling part is how other people on the exact same version don't seem to get any update prompts, nor do I get them on my laptop.
    I just do not want your **bleep** update. Why are you trying to force it down my throat? I'm all for security updates but I'm not on board with following the trend of catering your UI to four year olds. I like an interface that's clean and clear and doesn't try so hard to look "hip". The least you could do is add options to use the old interface/disable new """features""".
    P.S. While you're at it, stop automatically capitalizing brand names like "Always" in my sentences. And stop making my asterisks bold **bleep**, they already have a different purpose... *sigh*

    Download Skype 7.0
    http://www.skype.com/go/download
    go to Tools -> Options -> IM & SMS -> IM Settings -> Compact Chat View (on)
    Also View -> Compact Sidebar View (on)
    also Tools -> Options -> IM & SMS -> IM Appearance -> Show Oversized Emoticons (off)
    and I also recommend Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Security -> Restricted Sites -> Sites -> add g.msn.com and apps.skype.com
    or
    Download Skype 6.21 from http://download.skype.com/msi/SkypeSetup_6.21.0.104.msi or http.//filehippo.com/download_skype/58884/
    Make sure you go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> Skype Updater -> set to DISABLED
    and I also recommend Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Security -> Restricted Sites -> Sites -> add g.msn.com and apps.skype.com
    and add 127.0.0.1 download.skype.com to your host file if you want to go for certain.
    Also worth noting that C:\users\youruser\appdata\roaming\skype\shared.xml -> go to <EnableWiki> and turn 1 to 0 to disable the **~~__@@!! thing.

  • Silent Print and Annoying Printing Security Prompt

    Hello all,
    I finally managed to get my silent print JavaScript to work but I can’t figure out how to get rid of the annoying security prompt "This document is trying to print. Do you want to allow this?". I tried adding the JavaScript folder to the trusted sites under Security (Enhanced) but I am still being nagged with this prompt. Is this feature only for PDF files or can it be used for JavaScript files? I added a button so the user can just click and the PDF document will save in a specified location using PDFCreator. Yes, I know it is strange that I am printing a PDF file to a PDF but I have my reasons. Is it possible to get rid of this message or am I going to have to put up with it. Here is my code:
    function silentprint()
    var pp = this.getPrintParams();
    pp.interactive = pp.constants.interactionLevel.silent;
    pp.printerName = 'PDFCreator';
    this.print(pp);
    function toolbar()
    app.beginPriv();
    app.addToolButton({
    cName: "myToolButton",
    cLabel: "Flatten Active Form",
    cExec: "silentprint();",
    cTooltext: "Click to flatten active form.",
    cEnable: true,
    nPos: 0
    app.endPriv();
    toolbar();

    Hi Shawnny,
    Here are a few points:
    You can (or should be able to) bypass the security warning on your machine.
    There is no way you can set up the doc so other users won't see that warning. Security prefs are on by default.
    Setting up a privileged location should work. Try trusting the file and/or the folder on your machine.
    If that doesn't work, choose to Trust Always from the yellow message bar.
    If that doesn't work, look at the registry and see if you file is indeed trusted for silent printing and JavaScript. Details here: 9   Trust Methods — Acrobat Application Security Guide. Feel free to post your registry prefs here.
    The last option is un-check Enhanced Security in your preferences.
    hth,
    Ben

  • Security prompt

    so we're trying to run a .bat file across the network and we get the annoying prompt, "we can not verify the file. Do you still want to run this file"
    we do this from the dfsn path \\domain.local\share\share
    using policy I add file://*.domain.local to my intranet zone
    did not change anything
    however if I right click and run as administrator it does not prompt. However most our users are not admins.
    Note: UNC is also set to never.
    Now I know that it is not best practice to disable this prompt but real world is that 100% of the time users say "open" anyway and it is only done from the Intranet zone.
    Is there a group policy to turn off this security warning prompt? I gets lots of complains.
    Thanks

    > we do this from the dfsn path \\domain.local\share\share
    > using policy I add file://*.domain.local to my intranet zone
    You need to add "domain.local" :) The "*.domain.local" denotes that
    there HAS to be a host part in front of the domain name, wich for DFSN
    is not the case.
    And make sure the file doesn't have an alternate data stream that
    identifies it as "Internet"...

  • How to disable security alert  coming from ssl?

    Hello friends,
    I am developing an internal site for which i am using SSL for the security of the data.
    But i am getting security alert because iam using an IP address or machine short name in the URL to access it.
    Any other way to disable this alert.
    If it is not possible to disable the security alert can any body guide how to achieve security on the network..
    Which means i want a way to encrypt any given data string with the help of java script and the output encrypted string should be given as a input to the java code(servlet) to decrypt the encrypted string to its original form.
    Please any one help me with the code.
    I will be very thankful to you all.
    Thanks.

    While one of SSL's goals is to protect the transmission of data over networks through encryption, another goal is allow client and server applications to verify the integrity of their connections - by verifying that they are connected to whom the software claims to be. The client application (the browser as an example) does this verification by ensuring that the server site you've accessed in the URL, matches the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) in either the SubjectDN or the AlternateSubjectName extension of the digital certificate being used by the web-server to enable SSL. (Servers can also verify client software connections by asking for a client certificate; unfortunately 99.99% of web-sites do not use this little-known feature).
    If the server uses an SSL certificate called "mysecuresite.company.com", and you access the server as "mysecuresite" or with its IP address, you are, essentially, tripping on the very code in the SSL library designed to protect you - by throwing up a security alert about the site you've just accessed, which tells you that the site you've accessed does not match the name in the digital certificate.
    The simplest way to avoid the security alert is to use the FQDN of the web-server when you access the site. There are other complex ways of solving the problem, but the simplest is often the best. Besides, it will help to educate your users with this simple fact about SSL - you never know when this knowledge might be helpful to them.

    Is is possible to disable the following prompts on the CK100 with a C5 phone
    Connecting
    Phone Connected
    Player Connected
    Goodbye

    Hi
    Please see the link below to the user guide:
    http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/guides/Nokia_CarKit_CK-100_UG_and_IG_en.pdf
    The car kit provides voice prompts in some languages.
    To change the language of the voice prompts:
    1. Ensure that the car kit is switched on and connected to your mobile phone.
    2. Press and hold the Navi wheel for over 5 seconds when no call is in progress. The car kit plays the name of the currently selected language ["ENGLISH", "DEUTSCH", "HOLLAND"]. To stop the language selection without changing the language, press and hold the Navi wheel for about 2 seconds, or do not turn the Navi wheel within 10 seconds.
    3. To scroll to the desired language, turn the Navi wheel. To turn voice prompts off, scroll to the end of the language list. The related voice prompt is played in the currently selected language ["NO VOICE PROMPTS"].
    4. To save the language setting, press the Navi wheel within 10 seconds.

  • Is it possible to disable the Force closur button from QE11?

    Hi
    Is it possible to disable the Force closur button from QE11 transaction code level?
    Thanks and Regards
    GVD

    Hello Chanti,
    Disabling the force closure button is not possible by creating a security role as security restrictions work on organizational elements like co codes, plant, s loc etc.
    Could you please let me know if the requirement is for all users or few users.
    Also you may want to try the transaction variant/ Screen variant option. The force button is available in program SAPLQEEM and Function ABFO which you need to tick the inactive button during recording. Take help from ABAP if required.
    Thanks
