This may seem like a simple question but every time I attempt to access my iCloud account, I get the Welcome screen asking me if I want to activate Find Your device (whatever device I'm using) and if I want to activate Find my Friends (NO) etc. Half the time I don't even know what the correct address is for iPad and get all kinds of other websites and I just give up. HELP PLEASE

Please allow us to disable the Welcome Screen in Acrobat X for Windows!

When another program launches a .pdf and it calls Acrobat X Pro to load, the welcome screen hangs everything up. If it's an option for Mac OS, it should be for Windows too. If there is a registry key or the likes that I can modify, by all means, please tell me!

How can I speed up the Welcome Screen on Illustrator CC 2014?

I have updated to Illustrator CC 2014.
I find that the welcome screen takes a long time to load. It is far from convenient.
Is there anything I can do to speed up the welcome screen?
Any help will be appreciated.

You can disable the welcome screen permanently by following below steps if you are on mac machine other wise scroll down to bottom
and check the option "Don't Show Welcome Screen Again".
Go to Applications/Adobe Illustrator CC 2014/Adobe Illustrator.app
When you get to "Adobe Illustrator.app" you have to hold down the Control key
The Control key reveals, among other options, "Show Package Contents" Select that, and then the "Contents>MacOS>CEP>extensions" folder and removed "com.illustrator..welcome" folder.

Is it possible to disable the screen saver just while a certain application is running?
The app seems to crash when the screen saver comes on.
Just so you know, application I'm using is Hogwasher; a newsgroup reader.

Not really. Just disable it manually when you run that application. Then, send off a bug report to the app's developer and tell him to update it for the latest Tiger. Alternatively, use another newsgroup reader.

Satellite L500 will not load past the 'welcome' screen

Hi,
My Toshiba Satellite L500 laptop will not load past the 'welcome' screen. The cursor thing just keeps going around and around but won't go to my desktop.
Last night it went into some temporary profile and it had a message saying 'your other profile cannot load at this time please try again later'
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The error message is not known to me and also searching in google didnt get any hints.
Possibly your Windows OS is muddled up.
Did you try to boot Win 7 in safe mode?
Try this. Restart your notebook, tap the F8 key.
In advanced boot options choose the option called Safe Mode.
If the notebook does not allow booting in Safe Mode, try the option Last Good Known Configuration.
If this didnt help, try Repair my Computer. Here you can choose between different settings.
The one which could solve this is HDD recovery which helps you to set the notebook to factory settings. But this means also that your HDD would be formatted!
So be aware of this!

How disable the full screen option in the standard or wireframe video player ?

I was wondering if (and how) it's possible to just disable the full screen option in the controls that appear below the video player (standard or wireframe).
I want to have a video player with the progression bar, play / pause options, the counter without the full screen option because: "When someone clicks the Full Screen button during playback, the video opens in a pop-up window. Any interaction used to transition to a new state in the application does not work."

I don't think so from within Flash Catalyst. That is all part of the component. I took a quick look at the docs, and did not see that element at as a parameter. There are only two options I can think of: either build a custom controller in Flash Catalyst (which may not have all the same functionality as the stock controller) or take your project into Flash Builder and modify the controller skin there.

I think you may need to make some registry changes if you want to get rid if it. For applications like Lightroom and bridge and droplets are not going to use your shortcuts to start Photoshop up they will use what in the windows registry for key Photoshop.exe for command open and edit as will file associations when you double click on an image file type associated with Photoshop

MBA Update 1.0 - Buttons and text on the Welcome screen are not localized

Hi all!
I use Mac OS X 10.5.4 with French (Canada) localization on my MacBook Air, and it appears that after applying the 1.0 Update released on 2008.08.23 (which is said to resolve processor issues), the text on the Welcome screen now appears in English.
This must be related to this new update, since I did only text editing this morning and everything was OK when I started the computer for the first time.
Is it possible that the updated corrupted and/or removed the localization files, and is there a way to restore this? I hope it does not affect text elsewhere in the UI.
Note: I just done a PRAM reset and it does not solve the problem. Should I perform a SMC reset?

After a bit of search, I found a solution to my problem. It seems that the MacBook Air Update 1.0 indeed broke the Login window language on my system (I don't know how, but it did). This issue can be solved by using "TinkerToolSystem" from Bresink in Demo mode. This little app can restore the language upon login.
Please note that the "Enabling the root account & and change root language" did not work, for me at least. This method may not be possible anymore on Mac OS X Leopard (the tip mentions Mac OS X 10.3).
My Login Window is now back to normal

S10E freezes at the "Welcome" screen

Hello,
I bought a S10e a couple of days ago. The programs I installed were by no means exotic - AVG (I gave Norton a try and then removed it using Norton Removal Tool before I transferred the AVG Free offline installer from my desktop PC), Open Office, WavePad and PhotoFiltre. I noticed that windows hangs at the welcome screen from time to time and so I used the recovery program to reset everything. On the fresh copy of XP I installed AVG, MS Office, Demon tools lite and WavePad. The hangs continued I have no idea why... The only thing that comes to my mind is the fact that I don't have a wireless connection at the moment so there can be some kind of problem with some program's updater (and namely AVG's).
Any thoughts how to solve this?
P.S. I saw this thread but I think that this can be a different issue as far as the recovery program didn't help

Today I had enough time (and access to the university's wi-fi ) to do some tests. I came to the conclusion that AVG's updater was causing the trouble. I installed Avira and now the computer seems to work fine (more than dozen restarts and no hangs so far). It's a pity for AVG (one of the best free AV solutions around), but I guess the current build causes problems on IdeaPad systems without active Internet connection. Hopefully the guys @ Grisoft will have this issue fixed as soon as possible.

I can't think of a software solution that wouldn't involve something you wouldn't want to do. A hardware solution would involve disconnecting the top case but that would also disconnect the power switch.
I think you should make a hard cover to cover the keyboard when you're using it. Aluminum or hard fiberboard would do nicely.
My cat doesn't bother my keyboard, just whacks me with her tail or puts her paw on my shoulder meaning she wants to be let out!

Disabling the force closure button is not possible by creating a security role as security restrictions work on organizational elements like co codes, plant, s loc etc.
Could you please let me know if the requirement is for all users or few users.
Also you may want to try the transaction variant/ Screen variant option. The force button is available in program SAPLQEEM and Function ABFO which you need to tick the inactive button during recording. Take help from ABAP if required.

Is it possible to disable the webcam toolbar on the Equium A300D

Is it possible to disable the webcam toolbar on the Equium A300D at all? (i.e. just access the webcam controls from the control panel or start menu orsomething).
Where the toolbar is on the left of the screen it's extremely annoying, as every time my mouse strays to the left of the screen, up pops the toolbar.
On a couple of apps I use there are docked app controls on the left of the screen, and when the toolbar pops out, covering half of them up, I have to wait for the toolbar to disappear again, which can be extremely annoying if I'm rushing to do something.
Is there any way to disable it from appearing?

Yes, you can disable the webcam software from automatic loading.
In RUN type *msconfig* and start this tool.
There you will see the tab called Startup. Go to this tab and disable the webcam software (remove the mark).
Then apply the changes and reboot the notebook.
Now the Windows should boot up without the webcam software.

On booting W7 will not now go past the Welcome screen until I disconnect my network drive...

Since the latest W7 updates on 14th Jan my Dell Studio XPS will only boot if I disconnect my network HD first. Otherwise it just hangs at about one third of the way into the welcome screen W7 booting process.
Is there any fix for this?

It may waste a lot of time for initializing network while booting into desktop.
So, please check Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon
policy setting and disable it under Computer Configuration\ Administrative Templates \ System\Logon
To capture a boot trace, install the
WPT , open command prompt with admin rights and run this command:
xbootmgr -trace boot -traceflags base+latency+dispatcher -stackwalk profile+cswitch+readythread -notraceflagsinfilename -postbootdelay 10
