Is it possible to display Footnotes in column layout?
I have many small footnotes (one or two words). To prevent wasting space with the footnotes I would like to have the footnotes in a two column layout and the body text in one column.
Is this possible in Framemaker (latest version)?
No, not in any version. It's a hardcoded function of the text frame
itself. You can't even split the frame manually. The footnotes
automatically go to the bottom of the text frame holding the
paragraphs with the footnote.

Is it possible to display the static numerals as Hindi?
Trying to generate a report using XML Publisher, the report composed of two columns.
Need to display the numerals in English language coulmn in Arabic numerals and the numerals in Arabic language column in Hindi numerals. Currently they both appear as Arabic numerals in both columns
Question:
Is it possible to display the static numerals as Hindi as they had been
entred in the template or not?
I understood that on generation these should be variables not static.

In templates i guess, you can use multiple font text ..
same is the case here..
Arabic and hindi, are you using different font for these ?
if so, are these fonts available in server too ?
The test displayed can be static or dynamic, but if the server doesn't know which font to be applied, then its going to apply default font for the text.
At runtime, the server has to known, for this text which font has to be applied. if this has to happen, font has to be understood by server. -

If you need one more column, then you need to expand the field catalog table and data table as you did for all other fields and you need to code the logic to calculate the subtotals and populate the new column, but if you want to have row, that will be easy. If use Grid in BG u will get o/p In ALV List Itself, second thing is u will get Croped o/p bcos of Print Format 65255 , in this case u have to create/change a new Print Format only for BG jobs like 651000.

My clinic software has many columns. How can I display all the columns without having to scroll from left to right all the time?
If the software you are using doesn't offer the ability to increase or decrease document size, as many do, then the only way is to increase your screen resolution. If that's not possible, maybe you can decrease your font size? If you can't do any of these, I think you're out of luck!

Display null rows / columns in matrix report
Hi,
Is it possible to display any character ('0' for example) in a matrix report where the entire row or column show no value at all ?
My matrix shows Row1 and Row2 with values but no Row3 at all like this:
Column1 Column2 Column3

But I would like it to show my rows 3 with '0's :

What is the possible way of setting the column position in line item display variant in MIRO screen.
I need to change the positions of couple of columns so need to have one layout as per my requirement.

Thanks for this help.However I have couple of doubts.
When I save the new variant it asks me for package or local object.
Cutrrently I have selected n saved as local object but what is the real time scenarion.Do we need to select any package on this screen.I am not aware of these things in detail so nwant to know the difference between a local object and a package and is it functional consultant's task to do this or developers should do this since they can select the package
Please advise on this.

Display Document Set Columns Within The Document Set
Hello all! Hopefully you all can let me know if the idea I have in my head is possible:
Background: I have a Document Library with a custom made Document Set that has about 15 columns. The way I initially designed this, I left about 10 of the fields as "Hidden" because we didn't want the user to fill out that information
when creating a Document Set. That information would be completed in the next step through a Workflow. The Document Set Welcome Page has been left pretty much untouched with the usual web parts for Document Set Properties and the view of the items within the
Document Set.
Question: What I would like to know is...would it be possible to display those Document Set fields within the Document Set itself? At the moment, if I try to add another Document Library web part and view it, the information web part is
empty, or it contains information about one of the items within the Document Set.
Simplified Structure of Document Set:
Name (required)
Fiscal Year (Required)
Total Cost (Required)
Approval Date (Hidden)
Requisition # (Hidden)
Team Members (Hidden)
Reminder Date (Hidden)
User creates a new Document Set, fills out the information, and saves (this triggers a background workflow that approves the Document Set). After approval, a new workflow is started to provide the information for the Hidden fields (and also schedules a reminder
for that Reminder date.)
The goal would be to display those Hidden fields in another web part on the page. Right now, I have users going back up to the main level of the Document Library to look at a view that contains those fields.
Hopefully I haven't confused you all too much! Please let me know if my idea is possible and any resources you might have!

for each document set you can find the id when you clicking on the document set or navigating to the welcome page,
using this id read query string and the associated item column values and assign to otherwebpart .

I am using dataTable component to get data for my Menu, i have one column in it which returns me the data, because its automatically adding <tr> and <td> tags to it, its showing data in tabular form.
I want to show output Horizontally instead of Vertically the way its showing.

I would use a dataList component (distributed with myfaces implementation).
dataList is able to return a list of item, and using css you will be able display in a horizontal grid. (otherwise you can use layout="grid" in dataList).
Anyway...my impression is that who made JSF was not really understanding how a html programmer like to write his code.
Why do JSF gives us only the possibility to write list of items throught tables?
Why do JSF prints error messages throught tables?
Why div is not a standard component?

Display characteristic in Columns of Report
Dear All,
I am stuck up with an issue for quite sometime.
I need to display a characteristic in the column of the report just like we can do for a key figure.
In fact, I need to display this characteristic(Field value) in 2 separate columns of this report with two variables which select values for this characteristic to be displayed in 2 columns.
Like:
Fieldname -
Role------ Field Value -
Field Value
based on variable on Role(var1)----
based on variable on Role(var2)
Is it possible to do this in a report in BI 7.0 ?

Actually.... it is only a single table on which i am reporting (including in Infoset and then virtual multiprovider).......Each InfoObject corresponds to each field in the table....this table has no key figure ...all Alphanumeric......

is it possible to have an empty column title within a configurable table (chtmlb:configTable)? Whenever I change the title with the config tool to empty and save the changes it seems that it doesn't take effect.
The problem is that the column width is too less to display the whole text and I don't want to have "A..." displayed there.

Not possible directly but possible programatically.
The Column titles come from the data-element description. To override this, you will need to change the data element nd its fairly simple. Create a data element similar to the std. data element domain but put your description and then in GET_M method of that attribute, use this Z data type.
For example, suppose its searhc result Displaying addresses in a table view, then for states, you get name as "Region".
In most of asian countires, instead of region, "state" this word is used. So if i want to disply the colum header as states and not region,
1) i will find which is the doain of std. region field.
2) i will create a data element with this domain but i will give different description to my data element, This description would be States
3) In the GET_M method of that particular column attribute, i will change the type to my data element.
an i am done.
Thus you can create your data element with shorten and more meaningful text . I think system does not allow you to save a data element or domain w/o a description hence i doubt if blank will be possible..need to check it out.

SounderYou can update the table control in your program, the table control is a structure of the type CXTAB_CONTROL of TYPE-POOLS cxtab.
There you can hide or display column the same way you do for fields in LOOP AT SCREEN. there you will ahve to LOOP AT <control>-COLS.

I am using forms Developer 10.1.2.0.2
Is it possible to display record detail across and down? I would like to create a simple form that displays records from one column in one table. This table has many records, so I would like the data to be displayed in two directions, as is possiblie in Reports Developer. In other words, have 3 columns with 5 rows all displaying the same column from the same table. Ex:

code2 code7 code12
code3 code8 code13
code4 code9 code14
code5 code10 code15
FYI - the main reason I want to do this is to create a fancy form that is an LOV. I plan to have each column next to a check box. Currently, we have the column next to a check box, but with only one column the user has to do too much scrolling to get to see the various codes.
