Is it possible to do a backup while my ipad is in recovery mode? Or to restore it without losing my photos?

hi everyone!
I NEED YOUR HELP!!!!
yesterday i updated my ipad to the latest iOS version and my Ipad is now stucked on recovery mode. Unfortunately, I have no backup and I have many photos in it that I don't want to lost. Can someone help me please!
I searched on internet and didn't find anything to help me. Are my pictures now erased? If I go to the apple store, would they be able to help me?
thanks

I am sorry, but all of the iPad content is gone now. With no backup, there is no way to retrieve anything. You cannot backup now either. Use recovery mode, restore your iPad and download your content again and start all over. You have no choice.

    Do you have a Time Machine backup or clone?  If not,
    all is lost if you have in fact deleted your OSX partition
    and you will have to do a reinstall from Recovery HD
    and install all else.

    ipad stuck in recovery mode after accidentally unplugging it while updating to ios 4.2 . and when trying to restore it back it wont restore, restroing error code is 6 what to do ?

    I'm not sure what you can do at this point.  If I had been in your shoes, I would have kept the pics in the camera's SD cards until my return home.
    I'm really reluctant to suggest this but, at this point, you probably can't lose.  Do a "Restore."  Be forewarned that it could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
    At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
    Edit...
    I just took a peek at the TinyUmbrella FAQs.  Your device has been jailbroke and that's likely the reason why the problem occurred to begin with.  Contact the jailbreaker for assistance.  Neither Apple nor anyone on the forum can help you as we do not know the characteristics of your device.

  • All backup/sync files for Iphone lost on old PC, anyway to sync with new PC without losing music, photos, contacts and texts?

    All backup/sync files for Iphone lost on old PC, anyway to sync with new PC without losing music, photos, contacts and texts?

    Make sure your new computer is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your iphone, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
    This will save data, pictures and settings to itunes. See what's included in this backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
    Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
    Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your device got wiped during the first sync.
    The rest of the data can be restored from the backup you made.
    Restoring: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
    Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
    Apps can be downloaded again for free, in the US music as well. Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

  • RMAN - Is it possible to run Archivelog Backup while Full backup is running

    Hi,
    Our full database backups runs daily in the night. It fails whenever an archivelog backup kicks off. This happens on our big databases where backups run for long hours and we have to run the archivelog backup to backup/delete the archivelogs to maintain the archivelog destinations.
    Is there any way to run these 2 backups in parallel without both failing. We use RMAN catalog to take backups, and we get errors when resyncing of catalog happens during backup.
    We get these errors:-
    RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
    RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
    RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
    RMAN-03008: error while performing automatic resync of recovery catalog
    RMAN-20033: control file sequence# too low
    and sometimes
    RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
    RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
    RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
    RMAN-03008: error while performing automatic resync of recovery catalog
    ORA-00230: operation disallowed: snapshot control file enqueue unavailable
    Our archivelog destinations are not big enough to hold more than 1 days of logs and we have backups that runs for 30 hours. We have to backup and delete the archivelogs in between, while the full backup is running and right now its failing with able errors. Is there any solution or workaround I can opt for in this scenario.
    Any help is Highly appreciated. Thanks in advance for the Help.
    Thanks,
    Vish

    Your primary issue is SPACE. Allocate sufficient space to keep at a MINIMUM 4 days worth of archivelogs ONLINE.
    Use multiple channels
    you will need to test your system to see where you get optimal throughput.
    Use compression
    you will need to test your system to see where you get optimal throughput.
    Use disk-disk backups (and sweep to tape later)...
    If RAC, 11gR2 - consider ACFS (stored in ASM as well as OS accessible).
    Anything less and you could be issuing the command "alter dba update resume".
    Database management is not something that should be approached lightly... If you don't have the resources - maybe you need to trim the data or if the business requires that data volume, then the business needs to allocate sufficient resources to stay in business. Catastrophic database failures and the businesses ignorance on the importance of their data is a huge contributor business failures. At one point (not sure of the latest figures) if a business suffered such a data loss, they rarely stayed in business for more than a year.
    Storage is MUCH cheaper and the proper configuration and allocation of those resources than a company failure.

  • Can I backup my iPhone into a new iTunes install on a new PC without losing all my data?

    I've recently lost an old Windows XP PC which I have been using for several years and had my entire iTunes library and iPhone history. I have since purchased a new Windows 7 PC and installed itunes onto it.
    Is it possible for me to sync my iPhone onto the new computer without losing any of the data on my phone? I don't have any music stored on my iPhone so that's not a problem, however, I do need to save all the current Contacts, Messages, E-Mails and Photos that are on the iPhone. Any help is much appreciated in this matter.
    - JD.

    By design, the iphone will sync itunes content with one computer at a time. Any attempt to sync such content with a second computer will result in ALL itunes content being first erased from your phone & then replaced with the content from the second computer. This is a design feature and cannot be overridden. Because you are replacing your computer, your phone will see this computer as a "new" computer. The itunes content sync is one way: computer to phone. If you have photos that were synced to your phone or music ripped on your own that were not backed up, you will first have to extract them from your phone using third party software, before you do anything else, as Apple makes no provision to do so:
    http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/index.php
    Once you've done that, do the following in the order specified:
    1. Disable auto sync when an iPod/iPhone is connected under Preferences>Devices in itunes(under the edit menu if using Windows).
    2. Make sure you have one contact & one event in the supported applications(Outlook, Windows Address Book) on your computer. These entries can be fake, doesn't matter, the important point is that these programs not be empty.
    3. Connect your phone, iTunes running, do not sync at this point.
    4. Store>Authorize this computer.
    5. File>Transfer Purchases(To make sure all purchased content on your phone will be in your itunes library).
    6. Right click in the device pane & select reset warnings.
    7. Right click again and select backup.
    8. Right click again & select restore from backup, select the backup you just made. When prompted to create another backup, decline.
    9. This MUST be followed by a sync to restore your itunes content, which you select from the various tabs, You'll get a popup regarding your contacts & calendars asking to merge or replace, select merge.
    You should be good to go.

  • Help! iPad stuck in recovery mode while upgrading to v6.1.2

    I have a 6 month old iPad 64 GB Wifi. It was working perfectly till last week. Then I noticed that an upgrade to v6.1.2 was available and I initiated the update process (much to my regret).
    The upgrade failed and then it gave an error "iPad firmware error (-1)". I have tried all sorts of things like DFU Mode, pressing home button and power button together and still am unable to restore it.
    I went to a authorised service provider who said there is a 4mm dent on the iPad and that has caused all the problems. This dent occured a few months ago and the iPad was working perfectly throughout. The iPad hanged only when the software upgrade to v6.1.2 was done. The service provider says that it is in warranty but that has been denied due to the dent and they are asking me to cough up 520 SGD to replace it which is atrocious!
    Can anyone please advise on this?
    Thanks

    Suggest you try Recovery Mode a few more times.
    Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
    3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
    Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

  • I lost my software while I was installing the ios7, and now my ipad is in recovery mode. what can I do?

    I need all my records, notes, music, everything, please I need help with this, I lost my software while I was updating my Ipad 2, now is in recovery mode, so I need to recover my Ipad and lost all my stuff?, p.s: I dont have a security copy. thanks for your help.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • After i recovered my iPhone, it doesn't ask for backup, it just goes back to recovery mode. How do I fix this?

    I turned off my iPhone and when i turned it back on, it went into recovery mode. When it went to recovery mode i restored it but it didnt ask me to choose backup when it finished, instead it just went back into recovery mode. I've restored it about five times already and it just keeps going into recovery mode. Anybody know how to fix this?

    try using a diff computer
    if you can't try creating new user account on that computer
    if none works then your looking at a hardware condition... hope your warranty is still valid

  • Is it possible to use a backup from an iPad 3 to restore an iPad 2?

    I am currently setting up a model within the company I work at for leasing out iPads to our customers. The process being worked on is that we set them up as we like them, then ship them out.
    However, as above, my question is can a 3rd Gen iPad backup be used for a 2nd Gen iPad, or do you need to have a backup from each model to use on other iPads?
    Any help appreciated here,

  • HT201269 About transferring data between different devices, is it possible to swap memory chips between iPhone 5s's without losing any photos or info?

    I have an iPhone 5s and shattered its screen. I backed up its data to iTunes and manually replaced the screen myself. When I try to turn on the phone, it doesn't turn on. When I plug it into an outlet, it just makes a noise every five seconds. I purchased a new iPhone 5s and I tried to restore the data, but I couldn't retrieve it, just settings. I had a ton of important photos and songs I wrote....gone. Is it possible to simply swap the memory chips (both 16G) without damaging either devices or losing any data? Someone help me please!

    iPhones contain no user servicible parts.  IF you were to open the device, you would void any warranty associated, and Apple would no longer offer ANY service on the device (including out of warranty service).

  • Making repeated iPhoto backups without losing original photos

    I backed up my iPhoto library to an external hard drive and then deleted the original photos to free up space on my computer's hard disk. As I add new photos to my computer, how can I update my backup on the external hard drive, without deleting the original photos?
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hi, Moring-Anderson. If the only extant copies of your original photographs are the ones on your "backup" drive, they aren't backed up at all. If anything goes wrong with that drive, they could be gone for good. So you should be saving the original images on your main drive as well as on the backup drive, or else creating a second duplicate of each original image on CDs, DVDs or a third hard drive. Then you'll be able to say your pictures are backed up.

  • Possible to restore HD without losing data?

    My battery died on my Macbook Pro, and after I plugged in the charger and tried turning it back on, it only gets to the gray apple screen and spins. It won't go any further from there.
    I have tried multiple things, and the Geek Squad told me that I would have to restore the hard drive, but that I will lose everything. Of course they can do it for $100, but is there any way that I can restore it w/out losing all my files?

    Hi Apple Rey, and a warm welcome to the forums!
    Nope, sorry, and only that Disc(s) will work, might call Apple and see if you can get replacement Discs.
    BTW, to actually legally run OSX, you or they must posses the Discs which is the License to use it.
