Is it possible to do remapping of mutilple datafiles?

I have tried remapping of single file, it's working fine. But when i have tried with multiple files it's giving an ORA error saying that it's already been remapped.
Please can anyone tell me is it possible or not?.
Thanks in advance!...

Can you just explain with an example?Perhaps if you simply showed (with copy and paste) exactly what you did and now oracle responded.

  • Why can't Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 Time remap Audio and Video together?

    In case you didn't notice, my question is WHY.  I don't know why Premiere Pro can't do this.  From what I understand at the moment, the only way to time-remap audio in any way shape or form using Adobe software is through Adobe After Effects, which my computer has absolutely no chance of running ever.  I know how to do regular stretching of audio in both Audition and Premiere Pro, but apparently I can't time-remap audio using either of these programs.
    So why can't Adobe Premiere Pro time remap audio along with the video?  What's the reason that it can't?  It's a massive disappointment and would be very impressive to see accomplished in the future.  If it's possible to time remap audio and video together in After Effects, that's great and all, except for the fact that I can't use that program.  Why can't it be done in Premiere Pro and will it ever be possible in Premiere Pro?
    Also, will time remapping audio become possible in Audition someday?

  • Mapping Workbench Java Project Export Exception

    Hello,
    We're using TopLink Workbench 9.0.4.1 build 040128
    We are experiencing exceptions when we try to export our Mapping Workbench Project as a java project file. (We have never had this problem before).
    I fear we may have somehow corrupted the TopLink mapping project file(s) when we were last editing them. We can open the project file and all mappings and tables look clean. However, when we try to export the java project file we get an exception (see the stack trace below).
    Is there any way to recover our project file? We had made a lot of changes before noticing the problem with the java project generation. It would be a lot of work to go back to our last good back-up copy and apply the updates all over again.

    Are there many aggregate mappings in your project? Or do you know of any aggregate mappings or mappings in aggregate descriptors that have changed since you last exported your java source successfully. It appears that something in an aggregate mapping has become corrupted and I'm just wondering if you can narrow down where the problem might have occured. If this is possible, then try remapping those aggregate mappings and then generating the java source again.
    If it is not possible or this does not solve the problem, you will need to send this project and the class files in to support.

  • Annoying problem with aluminum keyboard

    i recently bought the new aluminum keyboard and i love it except for a couple of things:
    i really liked where the volume and brightness controls were on my old keyboard. i have searched high and dry to see how to move the volume controls from F10-F12 to F16-F19, and the brightness controls from F1-F2 to F14-F15. the reason i want to remap these keys is not only for convenience, but also because i need the F1-F12 keys free.
    now, you will probably remind me that in the Keyboard & Mouse preferences, there is an option to use the F keys as standard keys (meaning that if i wanted to use the brightness/media/volume) i would need to hold down the fh key, but this is a huge inconvenience to do, and i would like them back in their respective places.
    how is it possible to 1. remap the mentioned controls to where they used to be? and 2. not have to hold down the fn key to press them?
    i would greatly appreciate any help on this, as it is frustrating me by the hour.

    thanks for the reply but unfortunately that program only allows you to open apps/folders when keys are remapped.
    i don't see what would be so hard about writing a program that did the following:
    - recognize a command from your keyboard (fn + f10 = mute audio)
    - create a new shortcut for this command (f17)
    so it will read: replace f17 with the function of fn + f10
    guess i will have to keep waiting..........

  • Recovery with some tablespaces/datafiles excluded

    Hi,
    I want to restore/recover my db on a new host with some tablespaces/datafiles excluded...
    I have backups on tape but don't have enough disk space on my new host to restore database fully, is it possible I exclude/skip some tablespaces/datafiles?
    Thanks

    thanks tychos,
    I run the sql you told brefore restore database but It seems It's going to restore datafiles that I don't need again... I don't have enough space to restore all datafiles. My rman script looks like this:

    #SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 6 TO '+DATA/oradata/test/indx01.dbf';
    sql 'alter database datafile 4,5,6 offline drop';

  • Urgent: corrupt partition

    hey everyone,
    i have a corrupt partition.  it won't physically mount anymore, and i desperately need to get some stuff off of it.  i made a quick backup yesterday because i could sense this was happening (continuous grinding noises) but i was dumb enough to store the backup "temporarily" on the same partition.  is there anything i can do just to grab that data?  the filesystem was reiserfs.  thanks.

    Don't touch your hd, don't mount it. Then:
    1) Download dd_rescue and make either a copy of your whole hd or of each partition (if the partition table can still be read). This should be the first moment that you touch the drive. Also, while doing the copy, if you get too many IO errors I recommend to shut down the pc and try it again later (possibly leaving a gap in the datafile). At least that worked for me with a totally broken hd that became hysterical if you tried reading too many bad blocks. Also don't put the broken hd on the same ATA cable with another device (precaution).
    2) Now you have a backup of your drive, it doesn't matter if the hd becomes even more broken, so optionally you can fiddle with it, like trying to mount it or do other stuff directly on the drive.
    3) Then do all the data rescuing stuff (like fsck.reiserfs) on the hd image file(s).

  • Multiple datafiles per tablespace in 9i?

    Is it recommended to have multiple datafiles per tablespace?

    Is it recommended to have multiple datafiles per
    tablespace?It all depends on your particular storage needs. You could have a single datafile at maximum capacity for your tablespace, just ensure you can store it and in case you have to move it, it could be affordable.
    There are DBA's who use several datafiles for a single tablespaces, this reduces the single point of failure possibility and allows a more flexible datafile maintenance.
    Performance is the same for, except for the checkpoint process, the more datafiles, the more effort to update datafile headers.

  • Duplicate value in DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT

    hi,
    I would like to know if it is possible to have following combination for db_file_name_convert
    db_file_name_convert='/u01','/u02','/u01','/u03'
    Basically I want to know Suppose I have 10 datafiles in /u01 in primary server is it possible to have 5 of those datafiles in /u02 and 5 in /u03 in standby database.

    So you mean its not possibleYes, it not possible as you mentioned. If you wish to convert 10 datafiles in two different locations then it should be :
    db_file_name_convert='/u01/file1.dbf','/u02/file1.dbf','/u01/file2.dbf','/u02/file2.dbf','/u01/file3.dbf','/u02/file3.dbf','/u01/file4.dbf','/u02/file4.dbf','/u01/file5.dbf','/u02/file5.dbf','/u01/file6.dbf','/u03/file6.dbf','/u01/file7.dbf','/u03/file7.dbf','/u01/file8.dbf','/u03/file8.dbf','/u01/file9.dbf','/u03/file9.dbf','/u01/file10.dbf','/u03/file10.dbf'
    Suppose your data files on the source are in /oradata/myprod and on the new system you want them in /oradata/mytest, filename convert would simply be '/oradata/myprod','/oradata/mytest'. [url https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=9605904&#9605904]EdStevens.

  • How DBWn Works

    Hi,
    I want to know how DBWn works
    SAy; There is a tablespace DATASR3.
    This tablespace consists of 10 Datafiles.
    6 Datafiles are already filled. (Reached to its MAXLIMIT.)
    and Other 4 datafiles is in the preocess of getting the data.
    Im interesting in why its happens like this?... How DBWn will going to add/write data to datafiles.
    Is it in a circular fashion OR randomly it (DBwn) decides to which datafiles it goes to write.
    If its circular fashion then all datafiles must filled...according to order. (then it is not possible to full-fill only 6 Datafiles?)
    DBWn and LGWR works in the same way? .... Writing to files one after the other!
    Regards,

    Hi user2734911,
    Did you search via google?
    Database writer process (DBWn) is a background process that writes buffers in the database buffer cache to data files.
    Modified or new data is not necessarily written to a datafile immediately. To reduce the amount of disk access and to increase performance, data is pooled in memory and written to the appropriate data files all at once (in bulk mode), as determined by the background process database writer process (DBWn).
    The disk write can happen before or after the commit. See Database Buffer Cache.
    After a COMMIT, the database writes the redo buffers to disk but does not immediately write data blocks to disk. Instead, database writer (DBWn) performs lazy writes in the background.
    The database writer (DBWn) process periodically writes cold, dirty buffers to disk. DBWn writes buffers in the following circumstances:
    * A server process cannot find clean buffers for reading new blocks into the database buffer cache.
    As buffers are dirtied, the number of free buffers decreases. If the number drops below an internal threshold, and if clean buffers are required, then server processes signal DBWn to write.
    The database uses the LRU to determine which dirty buffers to write. When dirty buffers reach the cold end of the LRU, the database moves them off the LRU to a write queue. DBWn writes buffers in the queue to disk, using multiblock writes if possible. This mechanism prevents the end of the LRU from becoming clogged with dirty buffers and allows clean buffers to be found for reuse.
    * The database must advance the checkpoint, which is the position in the redo thread from which instance recovery must begin.
    * Tablespaces are changed to read-only status or taken offline.
    DBWn and LGWR works in the same way? .... Writing to files one after the other!*
    LGWR does sequential writes - so it takes lesser time to do its job.
    It needs to keep a record of what operations were peformed on the data and hence doesn't have a requirement to post the data to the actual data blocks of interest.
    However DBWn needs to write data to appropriate data blocks - which means it need to first find where to write and then do the writing job.
    Since a sequential write takes lesser time, it is advantageous to have separate LGWR and DBWn processes.
    The user gets better performance because LGWR does it faster sequential job while DBWn does its slow job in the background*.

  • Datafile Lost but no backup available

    Version:11g
    We are archivelog mode.
    We inadvertantly lost a datafile and due to some reasons the RMAN backup is not accesible. But all archived logs are available. Is it possible for me to recover the datafile?

    Hi friend,
    We can perform complete recovery in four situations.
    1. System datafile corrupted with recent backup.
    2. non-system datafile corrupted with backup.
    3. non-system datafile corrupted without backup.
    4. Disk corrupted and recreating non system datafile.
    steps
    Recovery of a Missing Datafile that has no backups (database is open).
    If a non system datafile that was not backed up since the last backup is missing,
    recovery can be performed if all archived logs since the creation
    of the missing datafile exist.
    Pre requisites: All relevant archived logs.
    1. alter tablespace <tablespace_name> offline immediate;
    2. alter database create datafile '/user/oradata/u01/dbtst/newdata01.dbf';
    3. recover tablespace <tablespace_name>;
    4. alter tablespace <tablespace_name> online;
    If the create datafile command needs to be executed to place the datafile on a
    location different than the original use:
    alter database create datafile '/user/oradata/u01/dbtst/newdata01.dbf' as
    '/user/oradata/u02/dbtst/newdata01.dbf'

    >> Alguém para me ajudar?
    Possibly, this one might be pretty tough to fix. The information in "file c:\oraclexe\app\oracle\admin\xe\bdump\xe_smon_2668.trc" may provide more clues.
    There are a couple support notes on ora-600 [4194] possible corruption in the undo tablespace datafile. Possibly the instance crashed and some updates did not make their way into the datafile(s)? Maybe a power failure, preventing the instance from flushing all its changes to the files on disk?
    Depends on what happened, what went bad. Can only guess at a possible fix, and it won't be easy. Muy Difficile.

  • ORA-08103

    I have a problem with some access to Oracle database.
    I'm working with Oracle9i in an AIX. I have some processes that run simultaneously
    and accesses to the same database, there are moments in which two processes make
    a DML sentences (select, update, insert) to the same table.
    From time to time I find the next error:
    'ORA-08103: object no longer exists'.
    Reading books it seems to be a problem of concurrence, but I suppose Oracle
    control simultaneous access or transtancions and I don't understand why occurs this error.
    it could be a problem od commit/rollback control??
    Any advice will be greatly aprecciatted.

  • How to reduce the size of Temporary Tablespace - URGENT

    Hi all,
    I need your help urgently. I have one Default Temporary Tablespace TEMP in my Oracle 9i database. There are two files in the tablespace each of size 32GB. I need to reduce the size or if possible i need to remove on datafile from the tablespace.
    Could you please provide me with the solution of this?
    This is really very urgent.
    Thanks in advance
    Himanshu

    Add a new temporary tablespace.
    Set this to default database temp tablespace.
    Then you can drop the old TS when all the pending transactions are complete if they are using temp space.
    Also, you need to investigate as to why your temp tablespace files were 32 GB in size. Looks like your application is doing too much sorting.

  • Will resizing datafile after shrink segment minimize the rman bkp duration

    Hi ,
    We have 1 TB database where in the RMAN backup runs for nearly 35 Hrs .
    At database level if i shrink the segments to reclaim space and then resize datafile , will it have my RMAN backup duration time to decrease .
    Kindly let me know if this can be done .

    whats the database version.
    As in 10g Rel 2 See "UNUSED BLOCK COMPRESSION"
    Unused Block Compression Of Datafile Backups to Backup Sets
    When backing up datafiles into backup sets, RMAN does not back up the contents of data blocks that have never been allocated. (In previous releases, this behavior was referred to as NULL compression.)
    RMAN also skips other datafile blocks that do not currently contain data, if all of the following conditions apply:
    The COMPATIBLE initialization parameter is set to 10.2
    There are currently no guaranteed restore points defined for the database
    The datafile is locally managed
    The datafile is being backed up to a backup set as part of a full backup or a level 0 incremental backup
    The backup set is being created on disk.
    Skipping unused data blocks where possible enables RMAN to back up datafiles using less space, and can make I/O more efficient.
