Is It Possible to Downgrade Adobe Acrobat 9 to Version 8?

I have a group needing to downgrade their Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard to Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard/Pro, because some applications are not playing well with the version 9.  Is this possible to do, and how would I go about doing so?
TIA

Correct, and I am a user! This is a question I need answered, and that's why I'm posting here on a FORUM.  After being on hold for 1 hour and 10 minutes with Adobe, I decided someone on these forums might know. So, reading back on my question...is it possible to do so?

    Hi Jorg ,
Are you trying to reduce the file size with the "Reduced size PDF" in the save as other option.
Give it a try if you haven't done it prior.
Open that PDF>File>Save as Other>Reduced size PDF.
If possible ,please share the snapshot of the error message with us so that we can have a look in order to assist you further.

  • Adobe Reader Version XI (11.0.06) vs Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard Version 9.5.5

Do I have to install Adobe Reader Version XI (11.0.06) when I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard Version 9.5.5 on my WIN7 Pro, just because Firefox 26.0 needs a newer plugin?

No. 9.5.5 is the latest version but it is no longer supported with updates. It is possible to get Firefox to stop blocking.
Version 11 does have significant security enhancements though, particularly on Windows.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro version 10.1.12: Save As, Reduce Size PDF

I am running Adobe Acrobat X Pro version 10.1.12.  The File > Save As > Reduced Size PDF..." does not work.  The file size barely changes, if it changes at all.  In some cases, the file size is slightly larger after saving using the reduced size PDF option.  In previous versions, the option would drastically reduce the document size.  The documents are all text in black/white with no graphics and usually Times New Roman or Arial type fonts.  Nothing fancy.  Is this a bug in this version?  I have been unsuccessful in finding a fix.  Optimizing does nothing.  Any insight you may provide will be most helpful.  Thank you in advance.

It's working for me, reducing like Acrobat Pro 9 did (that was my previous version). According to the software, saving to the latest possible version of Acrobat will give the biggest reduction. Good luck.

  • Issue with Adobe Acrobat Pro XI Version 11.1.10

Using Adobe Acrobat Pro XI version  11.1.10 when I try to delete a page I get an error message, "one or more pages are in use and cannot be deleted". I would like to delete the pages?

    Hi Frank,
This type of error usually occurs when two or more than two programs are accessing the same file at a point of time.
Does this issue occur with that specific pdf or with other pdfs too?
How about if you make a copy of that pdf and then try deleting pages from that copied pdf? Do let me know if that works.
If possible...Can you mail me that pdf file at [email protected] so that i can check this issue at my end?

I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard version in Windows 8.1 and when I try to create a .pdf file, I receive the following error message "Acrobat could not open "file name.log" because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged.  To create a PDF document, go to the source application then print the document to .pdf"  I am going to the source application and printing the document to .pdf yet it's saving the file as a .log file.  After reinstalling the software, I initially didn't encounter this problem but on my second and third attempts to convert files to .pdf format, this error message reappeared.  How do I resolve this problem?

I have a similar problem which i did not have before...and it exists only in some powerpoint files which i want to print as a pdf file...and i get the same message as above.
the log says the bellow details...what's the problem and how can i resolve it? thanks.

  • In Adobe Acrobat XI Pro Version 11.0.0 - Flatten file so it is not editable even by Acrobat

In Adobe Acrobat XI Pro Version 11.0.0 I use the Flatten option under Preflight but when I go back into the document using Acrobat and use Edit Text & Images, I am able to edit and delete items in the document. I also tried Flatten Preview -> Apply but this didn't work either. I finally tried to print the document as a pdf but the same thing happens. If a document is flattened, it should not be editable by any software but it seems that if someone has Acrobat, they will be able to edit the pdf I send them. Can you please tell me how I can truly flatten a pdf file so that it is not editable by at all?

" If a document is flattened, it should not be editable by any software " who as claimed this, and where? Sounds like twaddle.

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 version 9.5.2 running on my mac. I recently reinstalled my mac from a backup and now Acrobat will not update. Thanks Glyn.

    Hi  GlynIC,
What exactly is happening when you try to update.
How are you trying to update it, using patch or doing a check for update from application itself.

  • Troubles installing the Adobe Acrobat XI trial version.

I'm trying to install the Adobe Acrobat XI trial version, but it won't work. A window pops up, saying "The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author."

    Hi LiesDeGroef,
Please download Acrobat directly from the links on this page: Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X.
Then, make sure you're logged in as an administrator and disable any anti-virus software before you install.
If you're still having trouble, let us know. And, please tell us what operating system you're using (name and version).
Please let us know how it goes!
    Best,
    Sara

  • Purchased Adobe Acrobat 10 mac version - can I download a pc version?

    Hi there,
I own Adobe Acrobat 10 mac version, but want to use the software on a Windows 7pc. Can I download a pc version?
    Thanks

Well, you can download as often as you want. You can install as often as you want. You just won't be able to activate it and use it beyond the 30day trial period without a serial. Buy a separate license for your PC or swap your Mac license.

  • Can I downgrade Adobe Acrobat XI to X ?

Despite heroic efforts by Adobe tech support, my Creative Clould installation of Adobe Acrobat XI fails to show layers of PDF document created in Microsoft Visio 2010. I have found that Visio 2003 together with Acrobat X pro does properly render Visio layers.  Will my Adobe Creative Cloud subscription allow me to download and use Acrobat version X instead of XI ? Or must I purchase the older (working) version in addition to my subscription?

Did you ever get an answer on this? I have a similar issue with printing and need my Acrobat X back!
    Thanks,
