Yes .Just add the songs to the iTunes library you use for the iPod touch and sync them.

When I download a song off a website using Safari, quicktime plays the song

When I download a song (free song) off a website using Safari, the song never downloads and quicktime pops up and plays the song instead of downloading it. When I perform the same actions on a PC the song downloads, so it's not the link that I'm downloading from.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Use a right click or CTRL click to access the context menu then select download linked file.

No - you can transfer purchases to your computer's iTunes, but you cannot connect an external hard drive to the iPad for backing up. You can backup your computer's iTunes content to an external drive.

Downloading Ghost Songs Off of iPhone 5S

I'm a relatively new iphone 5s user, and I noticed that it completed some albums that I did not complete when I had the chance, there are now ghost songs on my iphone 5S that are not on my itunes and I'd like to get those off of my iphone and made permanent on my itunes. I've already checked and the track I want is not on itunes anymore. Advice?

How have you got the iPod set to update? If you are updating manually then drag what you want from the library to the iPod icon. If it's set to update automatically you just need to connect the iPod and iTunes wiil do the rest.

The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.

I lost my ipod about a year ago. I just recently found it and have learned that the songs that I downloaded from my computer to the old ipod are no longer in itunes. I cannot download the songs off my old ipod to my computer to load on new ipod.

I am trying to put downloaded music on another persons phone but the music I download for them I DO NOT want it in my music library. Is there a way I could have the music in a playlist and still NOT show on my music library?

You need to consider making an iTunes library for your little sister. On Windows you would create a new user account specifically for her. Login & connect her iPhone to iTunes in that new user account. It will to allow the music to be copied onto her device.
The only other way to get music into the Music app on the iPhone is to purchase it from the iTunes store - which you do not want to do since you are downloading it already.
You could connect her iPhone to your iTunes on the PC but that starts to get messy, especially since you already said you didn't want her music in your library.
Keeping them separate should be better in the long run, you could move her files to another computer as she gets older etc. She can also use that iTunes library to backup her device - which is generally a good idea

TS1424 just downloaded a song off the store, except when i try to play it i get a window telling me that my computer isn't authorised to play it, but it IS. now what?

this is driving me a bit mental atm because i just simultaneously downloaded an entire album that appears to be working just fine.
i've tried just putting in my apple ID when it is requested of me, but of course since this laptop is already authorised, nothing changes.

well i've just got off the phone to apple and spoke to the same person 4 times now in 1 day (the english guy) he said that the aftercare team are all american. and you know i said she said at&t, well she said TNT (the delivery company) so i got my wires crossed.
the customer service guy put me through to the same american woman i spoke to last time to check my details, as soon as i started speaking to her my credit ran out DOH!!!
anyway hopefully that should be problem solved, but knowing my luck i'm not counting on it

I bought some songs recently on my iphone (iTunes) but when I tried to find them on my laptop today (under purchased) there was no option for "music", only apps and books. What can I do? It would be really nice to have the purchased songs on my laptop as well. I have bought some about a year ago, but the latest buy was only a week and a half ago.

Are you saying that we cannot share between Itunes accounts even though we both live in the same house? further, does this mean that songs that each of us has downloaded and paid for cannot be shared even though we paid from the same account?
No, it doesn't mean that at all. Since you are related and live in the same household, sharing of music is allowed by the terms of copyright and of the iTunes Music Store.

That's legally a bit greyer issue, but I doubt very much any record company would bother you for making a copy of a CD for your wife, say, to use in her car.
It's illegal for the original poster because he's talking about copying a friend's music and taking it elsewhere; that's just as illegal as if the friend duplicated a tape or CD and gave it to him to take home. The same would apply to you if you wanted to burn a copy of a CD and give it to a friend or relative who lived in another state. But sharing within your own household is generally fine (at least in the US; other countries have different laws).
