Is it possible to download text messages from 3GS to my desktop?

Is there a way to store text messages on my desktop? Also, how do I print them from my iPhone? Thank you

You could copy all the texts, and email them to yourself by opening the email on your mac, but other than that, most likely not possible. To print them, you will have to take screenshots on your iPhone (by holding the home and lock button for 2 seconds, then releasing), then connect your iPhone to your Mac, then take it from there with your printer.

I'd like to backup my text conversations to my iPad from my iPhone 4.
Is there a way of doing so?
    Thanks

Not without restoring your iPad from the backup of your iPhone, which will revert all data and settings on your iPad to those contained in this backup, not just text message conversations.

Yeah, unless you want to deal with the pain of trying to get you messages to your computer, you will have to take a screenshot (by taping the home and lock button at the same time).
If you want to print a screenshot, it will be in the photos app to print ( click the share button and click print).  If you so not have a AirPrint printer, there are third-party apps for computers like fingerprint (look it up) that can make a fake AirPrint printer.
I want to add something more.
In most cases, you would need to use a paid third party tool to export and then print your iPhone text messages on your computer. If you have a low amount of messages you want to print you can also take prints creens of each message, then transfer the photos to your computer and print from there. Yes, it's possible and can be very easy. I simply used this iPhone sms to computer transfer program called Tansee iPhone Transfer SMS.(*Save 20%* now) Here is the guide:
Step 1: Free Download iPhone SMS to computer transfer software and install it.
Step 2: Connect iPhone to your computer.
Step 3: Launch iPhone SMS to computer transfer softw, the SMS contact info will be automatically displayed as shown in your iPhone screen (example see the following screenshot).
Note: Click on certain contact, the detailed SMS records will be displayed as shown in the below screenshot.
Step 4: If you want to copy all SMS to computer, click "Copy ALL SMS" on the top right of the first screenshot. And then select options:
1): Choose File Type: back up to TXT file or ANTS file; (The difference between TXT file and ANTS file lies in that ANTS file allows you to set a password for protection.
2): Choose File Path: set the desitnation parth for the exported file.
3): Advanced Option: if you choose ANTS file format, you can add a password to protect the file.
Click OK Button to finish the Copy.
Note: You can only copy the first 20 items for each contact in trial version.
If you want to copy SMS from a specific contact, click "Copy SMS From who" button and select options:
    1): Choose File Type: You can only select TXT file format in single contact sms transfer;
    2): Choose File Path: where to store the backup file;
Note: Advanced Option is disabled in single contact sms transfer.
Click OK Button to finish the Copy.
As we can see, this Tansee iPhone Transfer is a very useful tool for backup your iphone SMS details effortlessly. You can get its full version now at a very competitive price(20% discount currently).

  • Is there an easy way to download text messages from a LG Octane to a computer?

    Rather than forward each one.

You can try BitPim (bitpim.org),  The Octane is a "feature" phone, a step up from basic, but not a full on smartphone ("proprietary OS", not Android, iOS, Windows, and app support is limited to BREW).
BitPim may say the phone is not supported, but you may be able to get access to the text messages to download by using a similar model phone.

  • How to retrieve deleted text messages from 3GS iPhone

I have deleted - accidentally - a history of text messages on my 3GS iPhone. Is it possible to retrieve them?

Yes, you can restore the iPhone with the iCloud's backup or your computer backup.
If is not synchronized you will recover your SMS and everything but you will lose all your chats from the backup to now. (For example: WhatsApp's chats from the last backup until now)

  • How do you move text messages from contact to contact

Recently a friend of mine changed their phone number so I removed their old number and put in their new one. The text messages that I received from them before this change is now labeled as the the old number. I have 2 questions:
    1. Is it possible to move text messages from that old number to this new one?
    2. Can I put the old number under the contact but label it "old number"? If so, when I text in that screen again will it go to the old number or the new one?
    Thanks

    Just my 2 cents...
    1) As far as I know, those text messages are attached to THAT phone number. There is no way to assign them to another number.
    2) You could certainly add the number as another number for your friend. This would atleast TITLE that thread, so you knew who the conversation was with. However, again, those texts and that THREAD is tied to that "old" phone number. Therefore, if you reply in that thread, the messages are going to be sent to the old number.
I would just recommend adding the number to the contact, so you have it labled if you forget who it was or something, but then just start a new thread with the friend?!..

  • I need to retrieve a series of very old (more than 1 year old) text messages from my iPhone 4S. Is this possible?

I need to retrieve a series of very old (more than 1 year old) text messages from my iPhone 4S. Is this possible?

If the text is still on the phone and wasn't deleted, I don't see why not. Probably easiest to use an app like TouchCopy (Mac and PC) or PhoneView (Mac), rather than looking through things on the phone itself.

  • While I was talking via land line to land line with a friend they recieved text message from my iphone that I did not send. How is that possible?

I repeat.  While I was talking via land line to land line with a friend they began recieving text messages from my Iphone that I did not send.  I am in the middle east and I was calling a land line in Mexico but that should not have mattered.  Moreover, the person I was speaking to told me they had gotten other text messages from me that know I never sent.   I called my phone company (AT&T) and was told the problem was not with the system but with my Iphone.  They suggested someone was using app that mimicked my phone number.   Is such a think possible?

In addition to my iphone I have an itouch.  I only just today created an appleID so that I could use this message board so it seems unlikely that the problem is the result of a misused ID

Picture messages without a texting plan are 25 cents each.  Better than the $1.99 or $2.99 from the online store....
Attaching to an email would not work as mobile email does "do" attachments.
Sending to your online album will use text messages, I believe.  Better to use a micro SD card, save to the card, and transfer them to your computer that way.

  • Is it possible for sms text messages to be forwarded from one iPhone to another

Hi I'm looking for a bit of help please? Is it possible for sms text messages to be forwarded from one iPhone to another without the use of such app as mysms or google voice as neither of these seem to work. Apple sugested that my network provider can usually assist in such maters with a few simple setting there end. Does anyone have previous experience in these matters. Thanks Matt.

Do you mean forward them automatically?
As you can manually forward any SMS or iMessage to any number you want directly from the iOS Messages app.
