Is it possible to embed keywords assigned in Lightroom 4 into DNG files?

Keywords I assign to photos in Lightroom do not show up as "tags" when I view the photo's properties in Windows Live Photo Gallery. Is it possible to embed keywords assigned in Lightroom to the properties of the photo file?

Thanks very much for your response. Ctrl-S saved the keywords to the DNG file properties. However, my original question was wrong. I should have asked how to save the keywords assigned in Lightroom to the properties of a TIFF file. Ctrl-S in Lightroom does not seem to embed keywords assigned to a TIFF file. When I check the properties of a TIFF file in Windows Live Photo Gallery after I have assigned keywords in Lightroom, the keywords assigned in Lightroom do not appear as "tags." Do you have any additional suggestions?

Assigning color space to dng files

I use pe5. I can't assign a color space to my dng files. I have to convert them to jpg or tiff before I print them.
In LR, can I assign color spaces directly to the dng file and thus can I print from the dng file?

It's not possible, you *may* be able to get the PDF embedded via an iframe but you certainly wouldn't be able to save the information, at least on the server.

Is it possible to embed a newly created form into an existing PDF?

I have an exisiting pdf (3 pages of text and images) that I need to add a form to on the last page. I've created a form but don't know how to embed it, and I have a feeling there's a better way to do it.
The idea is that we can then email this PDF to people and they'll be able to fill it in.
I'm a new user and can't find out how to do this- I'm sorry if i've missed something obvious!

You can do it with Adobe Acrobat...
First: Create your form in FormsCentral and from the Distribute tab "Save Submission-Enabled PDF"
Second: Open your existing PDF with text and images in Adobe Acrobat and in Acrobat go to Help - Find and type "Insert Page from File" (under Tools depending on the version of Acrobat you are using) and add the FormsCentral PDF to the existing PDF and save
The resulting PDF file would include the FormsCentral form and submitters data would be collected on FormsCentral servers for you to view/download in the View Responses tab. You can also set up Email Notifications and Submission Reciepts that would all work with this PDF form.

How to add entries in possible fields in Account assignment model/Note 2596

I want to know How to apply OSS Note 2596, The basic requirement is to to add entries in the list of possible fields in Account assignment model( Exactly in program SAPDFKA6 in screen 120).
I found the note 2596 to achieve this, and the field that I want to add is KMZEI-PAOBJNR.
I gone through the note and it is very confusing for me .. If any one knows how to achieve this or how to apply this note, please let me know.

Bookmarks that have both a keyword assigned to them and are set to open in the sidebar will not open in the sidebar when keyword is entered in the location bar. Why?

I am using version 3.6.10. Windows 7.
But I have had this problem for years.
Have the same result in a clean installation.
Have the same result in XP, also in a clean installation.
When creating a bookmark, you have the option to
1. add a KEYWORD, and
2.the option to check the box that says "load this bookmark in the sidebar."
If a bookmark has BOTH a keyword assigned to it AS WELL AS a checked box to "load this bookmark in the sidebar", then
1. it WILL NOT open in the sidebar when the keyword is entered in the locationbar.
2.It WILL open in the sidebar if you click on the bookmark directly from the bookmark menu, toolbar, or the like.
Is there any plan to fix this? Is there an extension to fix this? A patch to fix this?
It's kind of ridiculous that such a bug still exists.
more and more tech sites are advocating the time saving qualities of being able to load mobile and iphone sites in the sidebar - like gmail, google calendar, twitter, facebook chat, igoogle gadgets, widgets, meebo, and almost every other site either via it's mobile version or by converting an igoogle gadget or just using and iframe. it makes me nuts that I have to shove all my bookmarks that are sidebar-loading to be within view on the bookmark toolbar. help!

Possible to export keywords for images in a catalog?

I have a fairly large catalog with scanned images (several thousands of images). The images have a number of keywords each and many have descriptions and titles. From this, I would like to create some sort of web site where this information is preserved. The web that I'm envisioning should list all the keywords that occurs in the catalog, and if you click on a keyword it should show all images tagged with the keyword.
However, with Lightroom 1.2 it doesn't seem to be possible to have the keywords included in the web gallery. Or am I wrong? Is it possible somehow?
My next way of attacking this problem was to use the xmp sidecar files. Since the keywords are stored in the sidecar xmp file, I thought that I would be able to retrieve the keywords from the xmp-file with the help of some scripts and XSLT. Yes, a little extra work involved of course, but still doable. Unfortunately, since I've got TIFF files and not RAW files, the xmp data is embedded in the TIFF file and not written in the sidecar xmp file. Is it possible to have the xmp data written to the sidecar file also for TIFF images?
Yes, it should be possible to extract the xmp data from the TIFF files, merge all this data into a big xml file and then process that with an XSLT script, but I would rather avoid poking inside the TIFF file, if at all possible.
If I can just get some sort of mapping between all images and the keywords, preferably in an xml format (html or plain text would also do) I should be able to build the web myself.

yes it is possible to do this, but it is a bit complicated. Under the share menu choose export media. In the dialog that appears you can choose audio only. There are options for AAC, AIFF etc. The problem is that it will export all of the audio from your project so if you want only audio from a particular clip to be exported you need to create a new project and then copy/paste the clip into the new project. You can then export that audio as described above. An alternative is to create a new empty compound clip in the browser and open it in a timeline and copy/paste your clip into it. You can then export audio only as above. Once you have edited the audio, import it into FCPX and add as attached clip to the original clip. You can either drag the volume of the original audio down so it is not audible or detach the original audio and delete it. Not as simple as in previous versions of FCP but do-able.

I'm using a blog service which does not allow the calling of external JavaScript files. Furthermore, testing STAMPot from my excellent fellow compatriot *Francis Gorge* (http://www.qtbridge.com/stampot/stampot.html) did not help me enough because the posts on my blog are contained within tables over which I have little control. In particular, I cannot write a full HTML page description with the <head> and <body> tags, and all the references needed to link to the .js file (and others) created by STAMPot.
So, I'm wondering if it is possible to embed the appropriate code directly within a QuickTime movie, e.g. under the form of a additional HREF track.
What I'm trying to achieve, in the end, is to have a poster frame for my movie, and have the movie play within that same poster frame space, but WITHOUT the movie controller +(not the poster frame controller, which I know how to hide)+, and then the movie looping back to the poster frame.
Maybe I missed something, but in the case I understood correctly what I read on the QT Dev web site, when one passes the controller="false" parameter to the +<embed src="<a class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://...>">http://...> tag, the parameter only applies to the FIRST movie, which is, in fact, the poster frame. Even if the target movie was saved with the controller disabled, this is only acknowledged by QuickTime Player, NOT by the QuickTime plugin.

Is it possible to embed raw latex (or any other meta data format like HTML) into a mail message? I would really like to be able to send equations directly without converting them to PDF or GIF first.

I just borrowed a quadratic equation from the MathML Wikipedia site and grafted it into an HTML document. It imaged fine in Safari 7. It should be noted that neither the latest Google Chrome or FIrefox rendered the same content accurately.
Laying out your entire email message (including MathML) in HTML can be tedious. Once it is displayed in the browser, each use of the command+I will put the browser content in a new Mail compose window. So, you cannot add an equation to existing Mail composition. Select, copy and paste (or paste and match style) will not work either.
Depending on the importance you place on email equations, at one time, Design Science (MathType) claimed compatibility with Apple Mail (4.5) where you could input your equation in MathType and it could then be placed within the email. The mail recipient would not need a copy of MathType installed for this to work. MathType even allows you to key your equation in with LaTeX syntax to generate the equation.
You could check with them about functionality (or restrictions) with Mail 6 and 7 on OS X, as it might provide a more productive way to achieve your goals.

Problems with keywords assignment (hierarchy is included)

this probably happens after I was letting Lightroom to a catalog optimization, but I am not quiet sure about this.
So what happens: As you know, you can create a keyword tag hierarchy and sometimes LR does this automatically.
If I now do some keyword assignments in the library mode (right panel), then these keywords get replaced by a hierarchy-to-keyword string.
E.g. if I enter a keyword 'female' and LR has a hierarchy for this (e.g. female and male are sup-levels of person), then the keyword tag entry area contains the following: person > female. If e.g. I assign both male and female e to an image, then I get as result: person > female, person > male.
This blows up the list and does not make it very readable.
Does anybody knows how to stop LR doing this? If haven't found any flag value in the options.

John, I think this is just part of the poor design of the key-wording feature. There are many oddities. I got my initial keyword list from D65. I found that when I use the "Enter Keywords" view of the keywords assigned to a particular image, many of them show the hierarchy they are part of, as if I had selected the "Keyword & Containing Keywords" option, but some do not. Adobe told D65 that this is related to how you create the hierarchical entries. If you create a keyword and use the "Create keyword tag inside XXXXX" option, in use it will act differently than if you drag-and-drop a keyword into an hierarchical relationship. This is completely at odds with proper programming practice! I have also found today (in LR4, by the way) that if I sync from an image with keywords to an image without keywords immediately to its left, I get duplications of keywords in the rightmost image, as if the rightmost image had updated the left one, and it had reflected the sync back to the originating image. This does not happen if I sync from the leftmost image to the rightmost one. So I went into the keyword list and unchecked that keyword for the image that had the duplication. Now I have the keyword just once, but there's no check beside it in the keyword list showing that it is being used. I'm also getting duplicates of nested keywords popping up at the top level of the hierarchy. I've just realized that this has been happening for some time. The whole keyword feature is a mess. Adobe needs to:
1. fix the keyword feature so that it works in a simple, consistent and predictable manner
2. provide users with a documentation update to explain how it now works
3. provide a cleanup utility of some sort (if necessary) to let us get our keywords rationalized
Perhaps step 0. should be "stop ignoring and/or denying the keyword problem".
I've just gotten into such a mess with my latest batch of imported photos that I'm going to have to delete all assigned keywords, including those added on import, and start again. I am not amused.

Is it possible to embed a window in another?

I know I kind of asked this previously, but is it possible to instead of changing the window class, embed a window or object into a current window, using Cocoa-Applescript? In the example of my application below, I'd like to fill the big empty area in the middle with the content of each page, depending on which button pressed. If this can't be done, how could I (if possible) import just an object there? (Like a box full of buttons)

Sorry if I've been a bit vague, but windows and views are a central part of your application design, so without knowing exactly what it is you are doing (or want to do), it is hard to get specific. In general, you create various views to do whatever, and depending on what these views are, you may also have a controller script for them.
In your example image, you could create a custom view in the big open area, then put your other views in it as needed, for example:
property windowView : missing value -- outlet to the main containing view
property viewOne : missing value -- outlet to one of your views
property viewTwo : missing value -- outlet to another one of your views
windowView's addSubview_(viewOne) -- add viewOne to the main view
viewOne's removeFromSuperview() -- remove viewOne from its superview (the main view)
windowView's addSubview_(viewTwo) -- add viewTwo to the main view
Another option would be to create a tabview with your various views, and switch between them with something like:
myTabView's selectTabViewItemAtIndex_(2) -- or by name or whatever
You can also set the style of the tabview to be tabless and use your own buttons or controls to select the desired tab.
And still another option is to use a nib file with a view controller for something like a document.
There are just a lot of different ways to use windows, panels, and views, so it depends on what your application is doing and how you are laying out your views. Even though they are in Objective-C, you might take a look at some of Apple's Sample Code projects for ideas.

Is it possible to Embed a PDF and command by a button within a PDF document

Is it possible to embed a fillable PDF form onto a PDF document and using the button to open the embedded file?

Files cannot be "embedded" in a PDF.
Attach the form PDF to the not-a-form PDF.
Create the Button field on the not-a-form PDF.
For the Button's Action select "Go to a page view".
You'd open the attached form PDF.
The Action wll look like:
Mouse Up
    Go to a page in another document
           File: PDF attachment
           Page: 1
           Zoom level: Fit Page
The default "Open" for the attached PDF is "Window set by user preference".
You can edit this to select either "New Window" or "Existing Window".

I've created custom theme for Keynote'08 and everything works fine.
My theme uses corporate fonts.
At the moment the theme is distributed with additional font pack and the user have to install both, but I'd like to simplify the theme installation process.

Is it possible to embed a Windows QT player on CD?

Is it possible to embed a Windows QT player on CD so the application doesn't have to be loaded on the host machine, but accessed from the CD. I have QTVR movies that must play on XP machines, but receipients are not permitted to permanently load "unapproved" software. I recall long ago that a Mac QT player was standalone and could be included in this manner but am unfamiliar with Windows requirements. Can anyone help please?

Sorry but no. Just as with Windows Media Player, QuickTime has files that must be installed as part of the operating system. The same would apply to a Mac, by the way.

Is it possible to Embed an MP4 video into a FlashCC file?

We're looking at hopefully getting some videos into our final swf by embedding it. We know we can use FLV's etc, but we would like to use the original MP4's without the loss of quality. Is it possible to Embed mp4's using code or something and adding it to a stage? I read everywhere that it is not possible unless converted etc...
If anyone does have any comments, links or example code that may help, it would be appreciated.

Thanks for the answers here but this is what i've found online also. The problem is that the mp4 isn't embedded into the swf and has to be 'linked' to a source file.
The only thing I can find to do is to convert to flv and then embed... But even Media Encoder doesn't support flv anymore...
