Is it possible to enroll multiple profile in IOS device,

I like to enroll multiple profile in IOS device to manage iPad, is it possible to enroll

Oh, sorry, when you said you were using Mac Mail, I made an incorrect assumption. The mail program you're using on a computer has no bearing on this.
Are you using a POP3 account? Or an IMAP account? They are fairly different. If you're using a POP3 account with no ability to set filters on the server, no there's not much you can do. If it's IMAP, are you sure your provider doesn't offer any web interface?
Another option would be to set up another email account just for news letters and so forth. That way, you could just look at that account when you wanted to see the news letters buy your "regular" account would have a much less cluttered inbox.

  • ISE profile / posture IOS device

is there a way to profile or posture an IOS device as to wheather or not it has been rooted?
our Corporate policy would like to say that if rooted, you get zero access.
    Thanks

No - future MDM integration that Cisco is working on should be able to bring is type of information to ISE. Cisco have indicated MDM integration is coming in Q4 2012.

  • Profile Manager - iOS device limit?

Has anyone found any information from Apple (or elsewhere) on approximately how many iOS devices Profile Manager can support?

I would try demoting your Open Directory server from Master to Standalone in the Server Admin app - there's an assistant in Server Admin > Open Directory > Settings > General > click the change button.
Once it's demoted to a standalone, restart.
From there, don't create an OD Master again - go to Profile Manager in Server.app and run through the wizard again.  In the process, it will create an OD Master for you.
    Hope that helps,
    Chris

  • What is the best way to allow multiple presentations/presenters iOS devices to a video device(single projector)

I am sure there are several ways to do this but I am rather new to iProducts. The instructor wants to allow students to present either from their own devices or from a mac mini where the presentations had been sent to prior to the class.
At first glance it seemed that an AppleTV would work great for this but I have been told that AppleTV is unreliable when it comes to multiple iOS sources.(Likely trying it out anyways.)
The other method I am looking at is to either grant the class' roll access to a DropBox account or use a 3rd party attachment email service to get all the students presentations to one place. Then its a as simple as using Splashtop or some other remote desktop app/software. Only thing there is the instructor wants the students to use their OWN devices to control the mini/presentation. I can only assume this is a bad idea, but I really don't know.
I have heard but have been unable to confirm that the new mac minis can be controlled from an iPad without additional app downloads, is this the case?
I guess I am at the very start of putting this together but does anyone here have any thoughts or advice?
Also, just throwing this out there, I am a PC guy but seeing how easily Macs set up and integrate in commercial jobs is about to guide me to making a switch.

Sir, here is 10 points! This is the perfect solution for what we are trying to do. I am not sure if the instructor will want to replace their projector although I bet I'd be able to convince them that they'd spend just as much and get half the functionality trying to save the existing projector.
Do you know if Epson is working on a mirroring function? Or if any other company has some sort of dongle or box(and an app) to accomplish this with any brand projector? I am still searching for these answers somewhere online but likely coming up on a dead end.
Also, have you had any experience with AirServer or Reflections?
Thank you again for the article, very very informative!

  • Selective use of iCloud with multiple laptops, multiple iPods and iOS devices?

I haven't brought my MBP13 to Lion yet.  I do have an MBA that runs Lion.   I have hesitated to take the MBP to Lion and set up iCloud because I just don't understand what the options are for selective "sync" of various sorts of data among one or more Macs, their iPods and iOS devices.   The material I can find so far does not in any way make it clear to me in advance what sort of selectivity will be offered if I turn on iCloud.
Aside from that my DSL connection does not offer a stellar download rate, and I live in a dead zone for cellular signals,  so I do not operate in an "always on" state.   I turn on my laptop's WiFi or plug in an ethernet cable a few times a day and similarly might turn on a mobile device a few times.   Past that, I'm offline.  I've lived like that with my Apple gear for 30 years and that's just how it is for people in rural areas of the USA.
All or most of my so-called "syncs" are the manual sort.  I pick out what info I want on any device and drag it there after connecting the devices.  If something I want on a mobile device can't be dragged there, or the alternative dread "sync" doesn't offer enough selectivity, I just settle for not having whatever that item is on whatever that device is, assuming I can't figure out a way to hammer the system into letting me get it on there (like temporarily adding movies to my main library from a separate library and external drive,  then drag to the iPad, then eject the iPad and delete the movie listings from the main library to reduce the clutter again).
So.    I don't  keep ALL of my various types of data (mail, music, movies, notes, PDF files, app data) on ANY of my devices.  I couldn't make them fit,  and I wouldn't want them all on everything anyway.    I don't always even keep any mail setups on a particular mobile device.  I might have one there for a particular time frame, say over a weekend,  and then disable or delete it.   That works fine for me.  I shudder to think what would happen if I had an iCloud setup and did that.  I have visions of my entire mail setup on one of my laptops being deleted if I delete it from an iOS device...
Beyond unwanted deletion?   Unwanted addition!   The last thing on earth I would ever want to do is set up iCloud and then find out that it wants to stash hundreds of GB of movies, hundreds of PDFs, thousands of music tracks, etc., on, say, my original iPhone that I still use as a WiFi device and occasionally add a few tracks of music to, or change up its playlists.  Not to mention what would happen if it tried to stash all my stuff on some unsuspecting little iPod touch used just for audiobooks.
I am afraid that iCloud will work like the dread "transfer purchases" thing works now.  The "transfer purchases" doesn't let me say WHAT purchases to transfer.   There's no way I want a movie I have managed to take from a secondary iTunes library onto an iPad transferred "back" to my iPhone or my MBA or to ANYTHING just because I turn some device I own in order to check the weather.   Maybe I never purchased that movie on the iPad.  Just because it's not on the main library any more doesn't mean I want it to be there, either.
So how can find out ahead of time how iCloud is going to work for someone with lots of different types of data on several laptops where all the so-called "syncs" at present are as manual as I have been able to make them?
Or can someone just tell me hey you know what,  iCloud is not designed for you,  just don't go there.
Either way I'll be grateful for some help here.  Sure I can clone my laptops and then back up all the iOS devices and copy those backups to externals, and then turn on iCloud and hammer on my stuff for two days to see what happens.  But why should i do that if someone can say up front that iCloud is or is not set up for highly selective sync options?

iCloud does not sync movies or general files, so that problem doesn't arise.
    iCloud will:
    Sync Calendars
SyncSafari  Bookmarks (though not display them on the iCloud website)
    Sync Contacts
Sync photos added to or taken on one device onto other devices
    Access @me.com email
Sync iWork documents only between your Mac and iOS5 devices - automatically from iOS devices by by dragging individual documents from a Mac to the iCloud website (and the cannot be re-downloaded until they have been edited on an iOS device)
Each of these can be turned on or off on each device; you cannot selectively sync within one data type - i.e. it's all or no Contacts, not a selection, and so on.

  • Apple Configurator- Multiple Profiles on Multiple Devices

I'm using Apple Configurator 1.4.3. I was wondering if there is any way to install multiple profiles on to multiple devices at once.
Right now it only gives you the options of installing multiple profiles on one device OR one profile on multiple devices.

    Hey Rookeydooks,
Sounds like you have Apple Configurator set to automatically refresh when you connect iPads. To turn this off (in Apple Configurator 1.2.1), in the menu bar go to Apple Configurator -> Preferences. On the General tab, uncheck "Automatically refresh". This way, the iPad won't automatically revert back to the saved supervised backup.
Once you make your changes, you should then create a new Supervised Backup. After that, you can go back to Apple Configurator -> Preferences, and check "Automatically refresh".
    Hope this answers your question!

  • Configuration Profile for Apple Devices with ISE

    Hi,
is there any possibility to put configuration profiles on apple device with the ise? I need to disable the dataroaming function in forgein countries for ipads.
    Best regards
    Felix

Nice. Only trouble there seems to be multiple entry for same mac address there for same resource id.
So when I try to get them as substring i get multiple copies of same mac address.
But looks like this will work as solution to this problem.
So far I was doing it this way (And i am sure there is clearer way to do it.)
    SUBSTRING((SELECT ',' + CAST(t2.MACAddress0 AS VARCHAR(40))
FROM (SELECT DISTINCT ResourceID, MACAddress0 FROM  v_GS_NETWORK_ADAPTER) t2
                WHERE t2.ResourceID = ResourceID
                ORDER BY t2.ResourceID, t2.MACAddress0
                FOR XML PATH ('')
            ), 2, 100) [MACAddresses]

  • Is it possible to have multiple bookmarks files or tabs with different content, like Bookmarks 1, Bookmarks 2 etc. inside the same profile?

I guess this is more like a new feature in Firefox. I work at home and would like to separate work related bookmarks in a separate bookmarks file which is as easily available like a standard bookmarks tab. I propose a possibility to add multiple bookmarks tabs in the menu bar. It would be nice if those tabs could be renamed at will...

You can organize them in a few main folders (Home, Work, etc.) to make it easier to distinguish the bookmarks.
You can also export the Bookmarks to an HTML file and make copies of that file with the needed bookmarks.<br />
You can open such a HTML file in a Firefox tab and middle-click a link to open that link in a new tab.

  • Multiple profiles/users on the same device

    Hi there,
I know that iOS is a single user environment.
But, I am currently working in an enterprise environment and I was wondering if it was possible to have several profiles on the same device, maybe using certificates or so?
    Thanks for your help
    Cheers,
    Pierre.

It would seem that unlike previous iOS devices the iPad and possibly AppleTV call for the ability to enable multiple profiles/users on the same device.
I would suggest that if this capability is not on the roadmap for iOS by now then there is a least one place where alternatives to the iPad will have a major advantage.
The thought they I would have to buy multiple iPads one for myself, my wife and my child because of a software constraint is untenable from a ecological standpoint (all these devices end up as landfill) let alone the economic one.
Also as I use the iPad I see it's potential to become as important computing platform to me as my laptop eventually surpassing it. In this light I can't see how it could remain just a personal device.

  • Is it possible to disable multiple logins?

Is it possible to disable multiple logins by the same user on different computers? I have network hosted user accounts. I need a way to NOT make it possible for user A to go to client Mac A, login and leave himself logged in there then go to client Mac B and login there also. This is creating some unpleasant effects on the server - naturally!
Any easy way to accomplish this? Perhaps through Profile Manager?
    Thanks!

    Simon,
Thanks for the reply but I need some elaboration.... "the "Login" preferences for users and groups".... what exactly are we referring to? I don't see such option (or atleast the way it's written), in either Server app or Profile Manager. Are we talking about the same OS X version?
    Thanks.
P.S. Despite the fact that I have enabled the option in Profile Manager to logout all users on all computers after 30 minutes of inactivity, I have noticed that the iMac clients don't log out the users after the said time...

  • Possible to have multiple cluster members in the same JVM (for unit tests)?

    Hi,
I'm wondering if it's possible to simulate multiple cluster members inside of a single JVM. I'm looking to unit test my code and it would be great to write cases for various boundary conditions.
This could certainly be done with multiple JVMs but would be more difficult to run in something like cruise control etc.
    TIA,
    Danny

    Hi Danny,
I do not know how to accomplish what you are asking for and run several Coherence nodes in a single JVM, but I have written a JUnit base class that starts a configurable number of nodes (each in its own JVM) and provides some other useful methods for unit/integration testing with Coherence, such as method to clear all caches or to load test data from the CSV file.
It is still a work in progress and you might need to tweak things a bit to make it work in your environment, but it will at least give you a head start.
Shoot me an email if you are interested and I'll send it to you (you can find my email in my profile).

    Aleks

  • Is it possible to connect multiple R/3 systems to one APO system?

    Hi,
Is it possible to connect multiple R/3 systems to one APO system?
    Kind regards,
    Kris De Smedt.

    Hi Kris,
Yes, you can connect multiple R/3 systems to one APO system. All you need to do is to maintain connection parameters of all the R/3 systems with APO. (i.e. RFC Destinations, logical systems, partner profiles etc.)
    Regards,
    Naveen.

  • Single network connection using multiple profiles

Apologies if this has already been asked - I have searched!
Is there a way of setting up netcfg - or a wrapper script - so that it tries multiple profiles  but then stops when it finds one that works?  These profiles might be a mix of wired or wireless - so simply using net-auto-* doesn't look like a solution (unless I'm misunderstanding them?).
My laptop often lives in my office where it is connected to a wired connection.  But, being a laptop, it is sometimes moved and will need, in most cases, to connect to a wireless connection.
I'd like the system, during boot, to try profiles in a given order and stop when one connects - is this possible?

Sounds like what netcfg normally does if you enable the service? Or net-profiles as the initscript was called. (This is based on documention, never used this myself.)
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ne … t-Profiles
Edit: I run net-auto-wired and -wireless with POST_UP and PRE_DOWN commands to stop net-auto-wired when a cable is plugged in and restart it when the cable is removed. Seemed to work pretty well, but I think I've never actually used a wired connection since I set that up...
