Is it possible to export an FCP6 project in some way to read into FCP5?

I'm having an issue with the difference in video quality between FCP6 and FCP5, and I may need to somehow go back to FCP5 and FCS1. That issue is discussed here:
THREAD LINK
Is there any way to export the project in some method that would allow the FCP6 project to be read into FCP 5, and work continued on it?
Thanks,
Stephen

In the Browser SELECT ALL...this highlights everything. Then go FILE>EXPORT>XML. Choose XML v3...and v2 just to be safe. Then import that XML into FCP 5 and you should be good to go.
EDIT: Looks like Uncle Tex was faster on the draw.

  • Is it possible to export a Muse project as HTML to use locally inside a browser?

I am trrying to see if it possible to export a Muse project in the same way, for example, it is possible with Fireworks to export a PNG file with hotspots as HTML and Images.
I want to be able to look at the project hosted locally and still click on sections of the site, click on links within the site making it appear like a live web site, but locally in my machine.
    Thank you!

    Hello,
You can use File>Export as HTML option and  it will export your website to a local folder.
Then you can open the index.html page in a web browser and it will give you experience of your site with all active links.
    Hope this helps.

  • Exporting FCP X projects...

AS FCP X user, I was wondering if it is possible to export your completed project to a SD card which you can insert into your VCR or TV to view rather than making DVDs?

Some of us who had previously been unable to get beyond the 66% mark for Share>DVD found that just clicking the Add Background button in the DVD Settings window and then canceling was enough to jar Create Disk into action. Interestingly enough, it's so far proved to be a durable fix. I've since run about 10 test exports with different projects and all have completed. After re-reading your thread, I retimed a project and that too exported with the job action (writing the .img).
It's interesting that a lot of people have common export symptoms. but with somewhat different error messages (and sometimes none) and that there isn't so far a common solution.

  • Is it possible to export, and include AE compositions used within a Premiere Pro project, via project manager?

I've several Premiere Pro CC 2014 projects I want to relocate via project manager (one at a time). They're excessive in size (many long and unused footage files), so "Create New Trimmed Project" is the setting-option, within project manager, most attractive. BTW I love how project manager does this... However, when I check on its new location, I don't see any linked AfterEffects files. Fine, I try the other setting "Collect Files and Copy to New Location". This option allows me to now copy everything including rendered scenes featuring my AE compositions (and a lot of excess, unused files)... but still no AE files!
Is it possible to export a Premiere Pro project, excluding unused files, yet include all used files... especially linked files such as AE compositions?

Though not exactly the solution I seek, I've tried an alternative approach... it works (if anyone's interested)... but my original question still stands.
Alternative approach (and probably the only option now):
When I copy & trim my Premiere Pro project via project manager to its new location, I can open the new file and see the track editor now includes broken links to AfterEffects compositions. Since I don't wish to relink these to the current .AEP file, I may package** the original AE project to a location near my newly-located Premiere Pro project folder. To do this, I open the original .AEP file containing any compositions linked to my original Premiere Pro project, and use File < Dependencies < Collect Files. This feature copies all files (and a new .AEP copy) from this AE project to my newly selected destination (as long as no files are missing).
So at this point, when I open my newly-located PP project, I can relink the broken AfterEffects composition links in PP to the new .AEP file. Yay!
**package (for those unaware) is the term used within Adobe InDesign. This feature gathers all linked files that makeup the overall design and layout, and copies into a new folder.

  • Is it possible to export a slideshow in 1080p format and then show it on a projection TV in 1080? if so, how - what conversions are necessaryw on a projection TV, if so how

is it possible to export a slideshow in 1080p format and then show it on a projection TV in 1080? if so, how - what conversions are necessary

Getting it out of Aperture is not a problem. When you export the slide show select 1080p as the export format.
What happens then gets tricky. To create a true high def 1080p DVD requires Blu-Ray. So you will need an external Blu-Ray recoreder and software to create the DVD.
If you're hooking your computer up to the TV then you'll have better luck.

  • Is it possible to export part of the FCPX Project from timeline

Is it possible to export a selection from the FCPX timeline or do I have to export the entire project and then edit it in another program.

Yes - but you don't mention the billion ways in which FCP X makes FCP 7 totally obsolete.
    Andy
I didn't think it was relevant to the thread.
I'm simply encouraging the return of a few features that were left on the cutting room floor - no harm in that.
I O markers and chapter markers are a few of them and routinely a topic of discussion. It's not just me.
For the record I'm a big Fan of FCPX. It has many of the features that I said, for years,  should be added to FCP7 -  and I took a lot of heat over the years for pointing out the deficiencies in FCP7.
When a new editor comes to the forum and asks "why can't i do this really simple thing" , I think it's better to acknowledge his observation and encourage constructive feedback to Apple rather than implying that he was stupid for knot figuring out a convoluted work-around for something that should exist in the program.
If your post had started with "here's a work around…." rather than " takes seconds…"
and you had finished with "…hopefully we'll see I O markers in a future update…"
Rather than "…Ctrl+Zs to get back to previous state." you never would have heard a peep from me.
I just find the apologist mentality difficult to ignore. No offense intended.
    best regards,

PS - I also think "totally obsolete" is a bit of a stretch.

  • Possible to export keywords for images in a catalog?

I have a fairly large catalog with scanned images (several thousands of images). The images have a number of keywords each and many have descriptions and titles. From this, I would like to create some sort of web site where this information is preserved. The web that I'm envisioning should list all the keywords that occurs in the catalog, and if you click on a keyword it should show all images tagged with the keyword.
However, with Lightroom 1.2 it doesn't seem to be possible to have the keywords included in the web gallery. Or am I wrong? Is it possible somehow?
My next way of attacking this problem was to use the xmp sidecar files. Since the keywords are stored in the sidecar xmp file, I thought that I would be able to retrieve the keywords from the xmp-file with the help of some scripts and XSLT. Yes, a little extra work involved of course, but still doable. Unfortunately, since I've got TIFF files and not RAW files, the xmp data is embedded in the TIFF file and not written in the sidecar xmp file. Is it possible to have the xmp data written to the sidecar file also for TIFF images?
Yes, it should be possible to extract the xmp data from the TIFF files, merge all this data into a big xml file and then process that with an XSLT script, but I would rather avoid poking inside the TIFF file, if at all possible.
If I can just get some sort of mapping between all images and the keywords, preferably in an xml format (html or plain text would also do) I should be able to build the web myself.
Any advice on how I can achieve this?

yes it is possible to do this, but it is a bit complicated. Under the share menu choose export media. In the dialog that appears you can choose audio only. There are options for AAC, AIFF etc. The problem is that it will export all of the audio from your project so if you want only audio from a particular clip to be exported you need to create a new project and then copy/paste the clip into the new project. You can then export that audio as described above. An alternative is to create a new empty compound clip in the browser and open it in a timeline and copy/paste your clip into it. You can then export audio only as above. Once you have edited the audio, import it into FCPX and add as attached clip to the original clip. You can either drag the volume of the original audio down so it is not audible or detach the original audio and delete it. Not as simple as in previous versions of FCP but do-able.

  • Is it possible to export Final Cut Pro X or .MOV to DVD Studio Pro (Final Cut Studio)?

Is it possible to export Final Cut Pro X projects or .MOV to DVD Studio Pro (from Final Cut Studio v.3)? I'm using the free trial of Final Cut Pro X and later acquired a copy of Final Cut Studio (FCP 7, Compressor 3.5, DVD Studio Pro 4, Color 1.5, Motion 4, Soundtrack Pro 2).
I don't like the default DVD export in FCPX, so I would like to do it on DVD Studio Pro. Is it possible to export the project or the final .MOV file to DVD Studio Pro?
Additionally, can I use unfinished FCPX projects on FCP7?
Is it possible to export from FCPX to Compressor 3.5 (Final Cut Studio)?
Feedback would be greatly appreciated. As of this post, I have about 13 days left on my FCPX trial. Or would it just make sense to just use Final Cut Pro 7, since I have a permanent copy of it?
    Thank you.
P.S. Where would be the best place to store projects or any other file related to Final Cut Studio or Final Cut Pro X? My MacBook Pro has 320GB built in storage (only 60GB available), and I have a 1TB external hard drive.
What is best to store on the Macintosh internal hard drive?
What is best to store on the external hard drive?

Yes you can make DVDs in DVDSP using video exported from FCPX.
There are some apps that will translate between X and 7- that said I would highly recommend not going back and forth as the translations are not 1:1 perfect.
I would recommend storing all Events and Projects on the External drive.
Compressor 3.5 will not accept exports directly from FCPX- you'll need Compressor 4 which is $49.
Totally up to you whether you want to make the jump to X. 7 is an EOL'ed program, meaning there will not be another version of that application. Final Cut Pro X is the version being actively developed now.

  • How to export a flash project with a changing frame rate to a video

I have a Flash project that is a series of roughly 1000 images.  The result of the images is a simple animation, and there is music imported on a separate layer.
There are moments in the music that I wanted to line up with certain frame changes, and there are sections of the music that I wanted to match up with a faster (double-time) frame rate.
I used this code in several places in the a code layer:
    stage.frameRate = x;
The result is exactly what I want in SWF -- the animation speeds up and slows down at the exact right moments to match up with the music track, but it seems like it's just not possible to export this variable frame rate project to a video file?
According to the accepted answer on this post: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4019538, it seems that:
The export function in Flash Pro doesn't transcribe *frames*, rather it plays the Flash animation and records it like a camcorder
If that's true, then I would think there is a way to record a variable frame rate project into a video -- does anybody know if this is possible?

That or Premiere would both get the job done. After Effects might be more desirable as it has a feature called Time Remapping (right-click on the video layer, Time->Enable Time Remapping). You can add keyframes to any point in a video and then drag them around to speed up or slow down the video. That'll allow for very precise tweaks.
Finally all I'd suggest is when you jump into your next project, make a quick dummy test project to see if the software you're using is easily capable of producing what you want. It'll solve the headache of completing the project only to land where you are now. Now you know Flash won't play nicely with scripts and Export Movie. If your desired end result was always a video I'd probably use video editing software to make the video. There's some free stuff out there if you really look, but no, it won't be as nice as After Effects or Premiere by any stretch. Although when you see how amazing After Effects is, you'll probably want to buy it .

  • Exporting Premiere Pro project  to Final Cut

Anyone knows if it's possible to export a Premiere Pro project (possibly a CS4 project) into Final Cut 6.0.6 and how should it be done?
    Thanks in advance!

Premiere Pro fo Mac or PC?
The PC version captures footage and wraps it in an AVI container. Final Cut Pro works with QuickTime.
You will need to recapture the footage if it was originally done on a PC version.
Can Premiere Pro export an EDL?
It's primitive but at least your shots will be in the right order and length. No filters or effects will be carried across though.

  • Is it possible to export a DVDSP menu as .PSD Photoshop file?

I promise this will be the last question for tonight. Is it possible to export a DVDSP menu as .PSD Photoshop file with its layers intact? I'd like to examine the structure to see if there's an easy way to re-create all my EncoreDVD menus as DVDSP menus.
    Peace, BJ

Without opening DVDSP, I can't say for sure, but is there an option to export the menu as Movie to Image Sequence? Is there an option to export the menu at all? Sorry for asking a question to answer a question, but I don't have my scratch disk with me and don't want to open DVDSP without having my current project with me. However, the image sequence wouldn't give you layers. Simply put, I don't think so. Apple's apps have played well when it comes to importing .psd files, but as far as creating them, not so well. As far as recreating Encore Menus, is there an XML type file that's compatible with both Encore and DVDSP where you could just reconnect your media assets in DVDSP and then import this XML file?
Good luck either way and report back with what you find,
    -Brian

  • Is it possible to export OMF (to ProTools)?

Is it possible to export OMF (to ProTools)? It is vital for the post of sound to be able to send the edit for further work by professional sounddesigners. I love the idea of FC-X, but if OMF export/import is not possible...
Would appreciate any ideas as to how to go about this issue! Thanks

If you need to export an OMF file, you'll have to export your project to FCP 7 with Xto7 (http://assistedediting.intelligentassistance.com/Xto7/) and export an OMF from there. However AAF export is possible with X2Pro software (http://www.x2pro.net/). I highly recommend it, since it makes use of FCP X's Roles-feature by naming the tracks in ProTools according to roles.

  • Is it possible to export simply the marker list in Logic Pro 8 ?

Is it possible to export simply the marker list from a project in Logic Pro 8 ? I want to present just a marker/cue list for a homework assignment. Thanks for your help.

After populating the DDList you can set a value for that list. Note that if the user did not want to choose a value for that list it will still be set to your default value and that default value will be in your submitted data (this may not be the behaviour that you want).

  • Can't Share (export) iMovie 6 project to Canon HV20

I'm running iMovie 6.0.4 under Mac OS 10.5.1.
I keep encountering the same error when trying to export a completed iMovie project back to HDV tape. I select Share -> Video Camera but keep getting an error message saying "Cannot Export to Camera, Your FireWire camera is not powered on or is not available. This also can happen if you added or removed a device from FireWire. Please try again."
Needless to say I've tried, tried and tried again trying a variety of different connection and powering-up processes. The camcorder is also in the correct mode.
I have connected the camcorder before and been able to export completed iMovie projects. So I don't think it's a hardware issue or an incompatibility issue. The only thing I can possible think of is I might of been using 10.5 when I last successfully completed this process. I'm now using 10.5.1.
So I'm at a loss. Has anyone experienced this before or know of a work around? I guess for now I'm going to "Share to a file, for sending to a camera later" and hopefully be able to export the completed project to tape in the future.

I have the MacBookPro and Canon HV20. I use both iMovie08 and iMovie06HD. The 6HD allows me to (a) Produce a better quality DVD than the 08 does and (b) export the movie back to the MiniDV tape on my Canon HV20 camcorder. I use the DV-Firewire cable to connect the HV20 to MacBookPro. There is no problem when I transfer the movie from HV20 to MacBookPro, but I cannot transfer it from MacBookPro to HV20, no matter how many times I reload the 06HD. My camcorder is connected directly to the MacBookPro. Are you always able to transfer your movies from MacBookPro to your HV20? If yes, I will appreciate a step by step process you use. Thanks.
