Is it possible to fix text boxes in position when making a masterslide?

Hi, I'm trying to make a set of Keynote templates for a small organisation - we need consistency, therefore I don't want any of the styles to be overwritten. As an example, I have a title page and subtitle page with two text boxes, one bold and one light for title and intro text. These are locked in position on the masterslide, but when it comes to editing (i.e. Add slide) the text boxes are moveable.
It's driving me potty, I'm sure there's a simple thing to stop this. Any help would be great.
thanks

Afraid it doesn't work. I've read the manual back to front to try something myself. Having transferred it to my mac and edited it there, the text boxes don't have the blue link boxes to link text.
Also, when transferring it back to the iPhone, when I open my document it gives a warning saying that linked text boxes aren't supported and it has separated them into two different text boxes again.
I'd suggest you give feedback to Apple about this as a feature enhancement request.

  • Text box moves position when viewing

When doing some testing on a new home page I'm developing, one of the text boxes adjusts its position depending upon which browser I'm using. It's driving me nuts! When viewing it through Internet Explorer, the gray text box in the middle column (for now says advertise here) shifts up. I'm unsure why this is only happening to this one particular text box or what I can do to resolve the issue. I attempted to move the box down a little ways, but then when I viewed it through Firefox it looked odd being pretty far down.
Normally I'd say it's because of IE, but it's odd this is only happening to this one text box. Any thoughts?
(Yes, I realize there are other itemes that need to be cleaned up on the page.)

Assuming that you have used web-safe fonts and have done a Command A in iWeb to make sure there are no box overlaps, you could try deleting the box, save, quit, reboot your Mac and then relaunch iWeb, add the box back, save and republish.
The restart will dump the redundant files out into the trash and hopefully eliminate any chance that the box is corrupted in iWeb.

  • Is it possible to merge text boxes

    Hello,
I am just wondering whether it is possible to merge text boxes.  I use Keynote as a holder for cheat sheets for learning programming languages, and I tend to make a lot of text boxes that at some point need to be consolidated.  Currently I have to use the arduous method of cutting and pasting the contents of one box into another box.  Is there an easier way?  And no, the "group" button is not what I'm looking for as this maintains the individual text boxes and does not allow moving the text cursor directly between boxes with the arrow keys.
    Thanks

    ha I finally got it
    it bypass but...it works
    you open presenters notes
you copy paste all of the textbooks into it
than you select text and paste it back on page
    hurrah its one text box

  • How do you create the 'cream pop-up info text boxes' that appear when you hover mouse over?

    Hi people,
I really need to know how you create the 'cream pop-up info text boxes' that appear when you hover your mouse over an object on a webpage (and often in any program e.g. Photoshop) for more than a second. I need to know because the logo on my website is the navigation tool used to return to the homepage. It is always found in the top left so the user can always click it to return.
The only problem is im the only one who knows that when you click my logo, you return to the homepage. I need one of these 'cream info boxes' (forgive my lack of knowledge) to appear so the user will figure it out.
Thanks for taking the time to read my question...

Using your code it should look like this where title attribute is in red:
    <div id="apDiv2"><a href="index.html"><img src="divs_dw/jtgd_logo_trans.png" alt="jtgd_logo" title="your description goes here" width="176" height="163" /></a></div>

  • Fixing the loupe tool position while making adjustments

I haven't found a way to do this - maybe it's an enhancement - but just in case ....
Is there a way to fix the loupe in position while making adjustments (ex. noise and sharpness)? I'd like the loupe to display real-time the results of the adjustments being made.
I checked the manual but didn't see anything. Is it do-able or is it future?
    Thank you.

Actually right around the time of 1.0.1 a number of people were asking for this - I also submitted a suggestion to see it as well.
Currently the closest thing you have is to zoom in on a specific area at 100% and evaluate that region while making changes. That works pretty well, but with larger images 100% is not quite close enough.
There are two ways to fix that I think, allow the user to define what the "100%' zoom really is, or allow the user to have multiple sticky loupes they could leave on an image.

  • Top of text box moves up when typing new text exceeds box width.

Using iWork 09 I set a text box on a master and mark it as Format/Advanced/Define as text placeholder. In the Text Inspector, I set parameters as left justified, align text to bottom, line spacing = 1, and other numerical parameters to 0. Then, on a new slide using this master, the top of the text box moves up to accommodate additional text and it would be seem more natural for the bottom of the box to extend DOWN instead.  What am I missig here?

it would be seem more natural for the bottom of the box to extend DOWN instead.  What am I missig here?
No it wouldnt. If you understand that, align to bottom, fixes the last character in the bottom line to the bottom right hand corner of the text box, the text then flows from that corner as you add extra text.
You cant have align to bottom and have the text flow from the top, you need to choose between the three options.
If you want to add extra lines without the box moving; use align to top.
If you want to align the text to the bottom of the box; use align to bottom.
I set parameters as left justified,
There is no such thing as left justified.   You need to choose between justified or left align, these are two different alignment methods, text is either left aligned, right aligned or justified, not a combination of them.

  • How do I add text to a photo when making a calendar from iPhoto?  I see the text box for the dates but not for the actual photo...thanks.

I can't find a way to add text to a photo once it's been put into the top pane of the calendar month...is there a way to do this since I'd like to add a descriptor to the photos?  I see the text box when you click on the calendar date, but don't find one for the photo pane.  Thanks for any assistance.

Right - you can not add text to photos with iPhoto - you must use an external editor

  • Why does the text in text boxes go invisible when annotating PDFs in preview?

If I hover my mouse over where the text box is, the little yellow box that tells you what text is there comes up and shows what the box is supposed to say, but the text is invisible. If I double click the area where the text is supposed to be, it highlights and makes the text visible again. Its not that the text is white, because if i drag it over a dark area, it still doesn't show up. This happens when I open it up again after annotating and saving/closing it. I attached pictures of my cursor hovering over the invisible text box, and one of it hovering over an unaffected text box, for comparison. This has happened to me before. What is happening and how do i stop it?

But, about half the time, when i am finished typing and click out of the box, back to view the result, the text does not appear. If i go back to Edit Content within the box, it is there, but disappears when i exit the box. It does not print when i print a test sheet.
The fact that 'about half the time' you are seeing this issue and presumably not the other part of the time, I would suggest trying to run the 'Repair Database' option in the First Aid dialog:
Quit Aperture > press and hold Option + Command keys while launching Aperture > select and run the 'Repair Database' option.
    Post back as needed.

  • Copying empty text boxes so that when you fill in one the others

I use Acrobat Professional 8.  I size a blank text box... it's automatically labelled "Text1".  I can copy the empty box by holding the Control key down and moving the box.  Now I have 2 boxes.  If I want to do 3 boxes, I repeat that action.  The only problem is this:  They all say "Text1" and if you fill in the first box, all the other boxes are filled in with the same information.  Here is my question:  How do I copy empty text boxes so that this doesn't happen; that is, how do I copy the boxes such that if I fill in the first box, all the other boxes remain empty until I go and fill them?  Please.  Thank you.

    Somethings to try:
Give each of the replicated Text boxes a unique name (Text1, Text2, Text3, etc.)
Or, place Text1 then from the context menu select "Place Multiple Fields".
This replicates the first and provides a unique Name to each.
    Position each field as desired.

    Hi Preran,
Sure, I can share with other users but I am not sure this solution was the best, but it works for me.   Somehow something about Dreamweaver is very complicated to use and understand- just in my opinion.  All I did was to add another div box outside of the 3rd text box which I created as div box (also did it for the 2nd text box since they aligned close to each other).  I know it shouldn't be needed since the text box is already a div box itself and my 1st and 2nd text boxes were okay.
Preran- please see my other question posted and maybe you can help?  Thank you.

  • In ID CS6, is it possible for a text box to retain its attributes when converted to a form field?

I would like my text form fields to retain Helvetica, 9pt., all caps? or do I have to make these changes in Adobe Acrobat? Any advice is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

You cannot specify a font in InDesign for a form field. You'll need to
    do that in Acrobat.

  • Is it possible to make a text box cycle/rotate through text, like a slide show does?

Is it possible to make a text box cycle through 3 or 4 separate pieces/groups of text, like a slide show does with photos? So that when I open my site a text area says "Statement 1", then 10 seconds later it changes to "Statement 2", then 10 seconds later it chagnes to "Statement 3", etc.
Its that possible with a text box? My desire is to have 3 or 4 testimonials that change every 10 seconds.
You can see that right now it's a single testimonial:

    All help is appreciated
    Thanks!

Right.  Some plugins have zip file downloads while others are just copy & paste.
In DW, go to File > New > Blank page > JavaScript.
Copy & paste the Cycle plugin code into your new JS page.
SaveAs   cycle.2.9.81.js  in whichever site folder you normally keep scripts.
Link your HTML page to your new cycle script:
Insert > Script > Script (browse to folder containing your cycle script). Hit OK.
Don't forget to add a link to the jQuery core library, too.  Plugins don't work without it.

  • Pictures and text boxes in rtf template

    Hi there,

  • How can i type text in one text box and have the same text appear in a second text box? (on the same page)

I'm trying to make a simple CD label template and would like the text typed into the title text field on the cover to also appear in the title box on the back cover when typed just the once.
Is there any way to accomplish this?
    Thanks.
    chuck b.

    Hi Chuck,
Not possible with a Text box, but can be done with a table.
Type the text in cell A1 (top left). When you exit the cell, the text will appear in C1 (top right).
Table can have fewer cells; cell borders may be set to 'none' to make them invisible; font and size may be different is each cell (as shown).
The formula in C1 is pretty simple:   =A1
So it's possible, but on the whole, I agree with Peter—Copy/Paste is just as efficient, Drag and Drop onto (styled) placeholder text works quite nicely.

  • Trouble with multiline text box reading from xml file

    Hi,
I have a text area, set to multiline.  For some reason, when my text imported from xml shows up in the box, it starts several lines down into the box.  So for example, my Text box is positioned with the top at the midpoint of my stage, but the text starts about 3/4 down the page, about half way down the text box.  Can someone please tell me why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?
I noticed that when I put my cursor in the box and move it up and down, the rest of the text 'scrolls' into the frame, but otherwise it's cut off.  please help!
    Thanks,
    Stan
