Is it possible to get an extra library to allow for 2 different ipods

My boyfriend and I share a computer and listen to very different music but i can't get his music on a playlist without screwing up my music library. Is there a way i can have two ipods co-existing with two seperate libraries? I'm so confused at this point and frustrated.
Thanks

If you're using iTunes 7, you can create a second (and 3rd, 4th and so on) library on a PC by pressing the Shift-key when launching iTunes, as described in this article:
How to open an alternate iTunes Library file or create a new one.
Then you can associate an iPod with it.
Use one of the methods as described in How to use multiple iPods with one computer if you're using iTunes 6.
You posted in the iTunes for Mac forum, but your info says you're using Windows.
Usually you will get more accurate help by posting in the iTunes for Windows forum.
Hope this helps.

Thank You. This helps me alot to get into the masters and to see events and photos in a utilitarian way, but it is not as easy as viewing the normal iphoto format to find photos.  Can I do something else or did I not do something right to not see normal iphoto in Time Machine ?

  • I am trying to store music for two different iPods on the same computer, against two different Apple IDs. When I try and download content from the Cloud I get an error message?

I am trying to store music for two different iPods on the same Windows 8 computer, and when I try and download content from the Cloud I get an error message. Is it possible to have two different Apple IDs on the same computer?

Unfortunately you've discovered too late how important it is to maintain an up-to-date backup of your iTunes library (and all other data of value).  You could, before wiping the drive, have considered making use of a commercial data recovery service that could (albeit at considerable cost) have extracted your library from the hard disk, even if virus infected.
In the absence of that option, you will need to restore the content of your library from its original sources:
Depending on your location, you may be able to re-download any iTunes Store purchases that are still available on the Store
Likewise, most digital purchases from Amazon (including auto-rip copies of purchased CDs) should be available from the Amazon Cloud and via the Amazon Music application - the same may be true of other commercial sources for digital downloads
Content imported from your CDs will have to imported again
The specific situation that you describe regarding the music imported from your friend's external HDD suggests that either the source is badly organized and/or originates from a source other than iTunes (other media players may use alternative tags for information like artist, title, album, etc. that are not wholly consistent with how iTunes handle these).  Without details of the issues you're seeing it is difficult to suggest a remedy other than going through the media album-by-album, track-by-track, and correcting the inconsistencies.
In the absence of a backup or access to the original library data there is no option other than painstakingly recreating your library as described above.  As you do so, you'll now realize how important creating and maintaining backups are - in my case I have at all times three separate duplicates of my library, in two different locations, where none is ever more than a week old compared to the content of my master library.

  • Is it possible to get a camera added to the back of my ipod 5 16gb?

Is it possible to get a camera installed on the back of my sons ipod touch 5th generation 16gb? I bought the wrong one on accident.

No. If you purchased it from Apple within the last 14 days you can returnit for a full refund and purchase a 32 or 64 GB 5G since those have the back camera.

  • Separating 1 library into 2 for 2 different pods

Is there a way to take 1 large i tunes library and separate it into 2 for 2 different pods that share 1 computer?

Do you have two iPods using the library of the same account?
In my opinion it would be easiest to set both iPods to 'Automatically update selected playlist only:' in Preferences>iPod.
You can create different (smart) playlists for both iPods and select different playlists for each iPod to synchronize.
    Hope this helps.

  • Two iTunes set up for two different iPods both with one library......

Okay I have had an iPod mini for about two years I already have my library set up yada yada yada...
Today my brother got an iPod Nano. I went through the setup process because I thought that you needed to have two seperate libraries if you had two seperate iPods, but after it had setup I realized that both of the iTunes accounts had my library on each....
What do I do? Can he upload my music onto his Nano or yeah I am not sure...Thanks for all of your help.

the music in a single library can be downloaded to two different ipods. (mauve and attractive beast both connect to the same library.)

  • I have the latest version of Itunes downloaded and installed to my computer.  I have a music library already created for my replaced Ipod Nano.  I've just purchased a new Nano.  When I try to access the Itunes store from the Itunes program, it gets hung u

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Itunes, but it still gets hung up when trying to access the Itunes Store from the Itunes program.

  • Possible to create a static library (.a) file for Xcode with Flash Builder?

Is it possible to write code in AIR that can be compiled to static library (.a) to be used in an iPad app?

    Hey paulhart83,
My guess is therabbitwindfall's answer was correct but where you able to find a solution to your question? If so, please do share. I need to embed my app within another app and the only way is through a static library. I'd rather not have to re-develop my app in Xcode in order to generate the .a file.
    Thanks.

  • Is it possible to get Windows XP from Sony Vaio for Mac?

Hello, I got my first Mac... I want to try boot camp. I have my sony vaio, and it has the recovery system with the XP right on the comp. I'm trying to figure out if it is in any way possible to use get just the XP out of it and install in on Mac... I assume that if I make Sony recovery disc it probably comes with a bunch of other crap that Mac doesn't need...

"This is just crazy" - why? They are right. It never ceases to amaze me how people are put off because they can't pirate software.
When you purchase a Sony laptop with Windows XP on it, you are purchasing an OEM license. That OEM license cost you substantially less than a full retail version - BUT there's a tradeoff. The OEM license of XP is forever married to the laptop. It doesn't matter if you accidentally drop your laptop in an acid bath, you can't take the software and install it on another system. When you retire the system, you retire the software. But you got it cheaper.
If you want more flexibility in how you can use your license, then purchase your own retail version of XP. Sometimes this can be tricky when ordering new systems, because it seems like fewer and fewer companies give you a "no operating system" option when putting together specs.

  • I have an old iPod, first generation. I want to play a friend's music thru my Bose radio. I've emptied my iPod to my itunes library to allow space on the iPod. Question is: Can my friend put his music on a flash drive and somehow transfer to my computer.

I have an old iPod. First generation. I want to play a friend's music thru my Bose radio at an upcoming party.   (already use my Pod w/the radio). Ive emptied my iPod to my itunes library to make more room for additional music.
Question: Can I somehow download my friend's playlist - which is on a flashdrive, transfer it to my itunes and then transfer to the iPod??

If the Apple Store Genuis says you can't sync music from an audio CD to your iPod (because it's too old), he or she is not much of a "genius."
That question is not even related to your iPod.  First step is to "rip" the music CD into your iTunes library.  Once the songs on the CD are in your iTunes library, they are like any other songs in your library, and you can sync them to your iPod as desired.  This article seems to do a good job of describing how to rip CDs
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1156861/howto_rip_cds.html
NOTE:  When you insert a music CD, it appears in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES.  If you do not see the sidebar (along left side of window), from the iTunes menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
It was the context of your original question, not the actual task.  You can easily add songs files that are on a flash drive to your iTunes library.  Open a window that shows the flash drive contents.  Drag the song files from that window to the iTunes window, and drop them on your iTunes Music library.  Or, use the command
iTunes menu bar -> File -> Add to Library...
NOTE:  Open your iTunes preferences, Advanced tab.  If the checkbox for Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library is NOT checked, those songs from the flash drive will only be accessible (for playing and syncing) when the flash drive is connected.

  • I get emails from apple id but for a different name

I got an email from Apple ID to reset my Apple ID security questions and answers but it was addressed to a different name. I changed my password just in case but my account seems fine. Could someone have accidentally set up an account with my email address instead of theirs and how do I get my email address removed from their account?

Your Apple ID must be an email address to use it for and iClouid account.  If it isn't in the form of an email address you can change it so is by following this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40.  The ID must also have an active email address associated with it.  If it doesn't, first go to appleid.apple.com and add one before trying to use the ID for iCloud.
