Is it possible to get calendar appointment to have to be dismissed instead of going away once you unlock phone?
I'm looking to see if it is possible to get calendar appointments to stay on the notification screen instead of disappearing once the phone is unlocked. Basically I want to have to dismiss all appointments on my phone. Is this possible?
If you go into Settings>Notifications>Calendar, you can set that notification alert style to Alert, which I believe causes you to have to dismiss the alert before you can do anything else on the device. It will take me a couple of minutes to test this, since it will require me to make some changes to my device, but you might want to look at that. When you receive a notification for a calendar alert, I know you can swipe that alert and I see that individual calendar appointment displayed on the screen. I'm not aware of another method to display your daily calendar on the home screen when getting notifications.
EDIT: I was correct. If you just unlock the phone, this dismisses the notification and will bring you to the home screen, no other information about the appointment. However, if you do not just unlock the phone and swipe the calendar notification on the screen it will bring you to that particular calendar notice. It will not, however show you other future appointments. That would require you to enter the calendar application.

One user in particular has witnessed (randomly) calendar appointments on her iPhone revert to a previously scheduled time/date when a reminder alert is dismissed on her iPhone. The result is the appointment is changed on her Exchange calendar to the previously scheduled time, but it does not affect any other invitees' calendars. She IS the organizer, so the appointment is not changing/sending an update to invitees, it's just reverting on her calendar only...
Troubleshooting steps:

Rather than giving a presentation with an external monitor, I want to sit at my desk and record a presentation for distribution like a podcast. When I click record to add the sound to the presentation I see the slide show on the screen while recording instead of the presenter display. I would like to watch the presenter display while recording so that I can see the next slide as I record. There doesn't seem to be any way to record and watch the presenter display without having an external monitor attached. Does anyone know how to get the presenter display to show while recording without an external monitor?
I also needed to view presenter notes while recording a presentation on my Macbook Pro and could not find a solutions, but I did find a pretty good work around.
I downloaded the Keynote Remote app for my iPhone. I am now able to start recording on my laptop and then hit start slideshow on my iphone to view a portrait mode version of my slides with presenter notes below. I use my phone to flip through slides and slide builds while I'm reading through my presenter notes. When I've reached the end of the presentation I hit esc on my Macbook Pro and I'm done. I'm then able to export the recorded presentation as a Quicktime video and post it on our website, which is exactly what I set out to do.
It takes a little bit of coordination to get used to this method, but I don't need to have a projector or second monitor because my phone takes on the second monitor role. -

the template being called would possibly be 0query_adhoc or 0query_template , you could try modifying that...
otherwise if the only reason for you to use the default template is to have the export to excel and csv functionality , you can have them incorporated as buttons on any template...

there are 3 fields in a multiple record block.
field 1 will have the total amount.in field 2 i user can enter the percentage.and field 3 will be populated
as field 1 * field 2 /100. if user changes field 3 it back update the field 2 as field3 * 100/field 1.
there is a POST in when-new-record-instance.
the above error comes when i navigate to second record
and try to come bk and change the values in 1st record.

Then, I save stream to file.
Then user can open this file and get config from file.
The problem is in open file procedure.
I do not know file encoding: it can be "cp1251" (windows cyrillic) or it can be "cp866" (cmd output).
So if user tries to open "cp1251" file with "cp866" encoding, he gets unreadable characters.
Is it possible to get file encoding and then re-create InputStreamReader with proper encoding?Well, you can't get the file encoding. It's not saved with the file. Unless it's your file format, in which case you can save whatever you want.
There are apps that can guess a file's encoding.
Of course, if you have control over the files entirely, it shouldn't be a problem, and generally it'd make life a lot easier to just use UTF-8.

That is what iCloud does.
You need to be logged into the same iCloud account on each device, you also need to have calendar syncing enabled on each device in your iCloud settings. Once you have done this, your calendars should sync as you require. -
I have an old Macintosh LC that recently went down. I am located in the Portsmouth, NH area.
Anyone know where I can get this repaired or have the data transferred??How much $$ do you care to spend to transfer the data on the LC's 40 or 80 MB hard drive? The original LC is now 21 years-old and has little if any market value (I know - I have an LC I and an LC III), so professional repair will easily exceed that. It's considered "obsolete" by Apple's authorized repair shops, so parts are not available. Was it starting up normally before it stopped working, and if so, were the date & time always correct after it had been disconnected from an electrical outlet? If not and if startups have been hit or miss for a while, your LC undoubtedly needs a new PRAM battery installed. It's a 3.6-volt ½AA lithium battery and is installed in a black plastic holder w/retainer cover clipped over it on the LC's motherboard. The battery can be purchased at battery specialty retailers for about $8 or less, as well as from a number of online merchants. If you don't mind paying 2-3 times the value of the battery, Radio Shack carries it. If you need directions for installing the battery, post back. It's the least expensive thing to try and a new battery has brought many a dead Mac back from the dead. As for the internal hard drive, it could be removed and installed in a slightly newer, pre-G3 Power Mac having an internal SCSI bus. If there are any thrift stores in your area, you might find a suitable Mac for this purpose. This would involve removal of the hard drive from the LC and installation in the newer Mac, with a slight change in the LC's SCSI address jumper placement. Once installed in the newer Mac, the files could be copied. If this is more challenging than you planned on, you might check your area for a Mac User Group, where you might be able to take your LC and have someone transfer the files for you. After the files have been transferred to another medium, you may have problems trying to open them on a newer Mac running a newer OS version than the LC's (System 7.0, 7.1, 7.5.x, or 7.6), if the programs aren't compatible.

Is it possible to get 15 minute appointment times on the calender without them all bunching up and being unable to follow?
I am wanting to replace all my PC's with Macs, ipads and iphones for my business.
I love the whole system but as a small Physio business, I need to be able to add 15min & 20min appointments to the callendar and share with my colleagues.
The problem I have is that they just bunch up and overlap and it becomes impossible to follow. There is no way of telling if you have any appointment spaces as it no longer shows the gaps. Also, are you able to set a default time for the appointments as it currently defaults to 1 hour (small pain in the arse but thought i'd ask while i'm here)
If there is a way to do this or if there is any other apps out there, I'm sure it would become a very useful business tool and many more small businesses would invest in Apple systems, I've talked it through with friends with other businesses and they agree.
Anybody have any solutions, or do Apple fancy making some simple upgrades to the software?

MarkYep, that's basically what I'm trying to to detect JJ; which layers overlap the blue area would be the ideal result. Which objects overlap the blue layer's bounds is an ok method, but not 100% accurate (as demonstrated by your example). The bounds method does narrow down what layers I need to check it against, but it still returns 2 layers I need to then take extra time to check against for the actual overlap, which wouldn't be necessary if we can get the check more detailed.
Since a more detailed way of getting the overlaps is still being looked into, I'm thinking of using EnsilZah's and/or c.pfaffenbichler's suggestions in tandem with some code they helped me with previously (here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/6256651#6256651 ) to get the actual overlaps by process of elimination on a narrowed return result using current suggestions; at least until a better/more efficient solution comes along. I am still open to other ideas, on this topic, though. -
How to get calendars and notes from my iPhone into iCloud?

yesterday I got a new MacBook Pro Retina at work. This upgrade me to OSX 10.8 from 10.6, so I planned to use iCloud to sync my iPhone 5 and my Mac this way. So far I synced the devices manually via iTunes.
However, so far I only got Contacts to sync with iCloud correctly. Calendars and notes just don't do it, although their sync is turned on on the iPhone as well as on the Mac.
All my attempts to get it to work obviously destroyed the possibility to sync calendars via iTunes - after a sync there is just nothing showing up in Calendar. This is really bad as now I can only access my calendars via the iPhone.
Since my iPhone now contains the most recent calendar and note data the question is even more simple: how can I get these data from my iPhone into iClous so they will also sync with my Mac (and from then on on all devices)?
It doesn't work by just turning calendar sync on on the iPhone. When I do this, I now see two calendar groups "From my Mac" and "From iCloud". Great, but what I want is to replace "From iCloud" with "From my Mac".
I have already reset iCloud, but this didn't help either.
I'm close to desperation, so any hints are very much appreciated!

Hi iPad users - I seem to have this problem with both the iPhone and iPad. I can make entries onto my computers calendar and they will sync properly on either the iPad or iPhone, but when I enter new information on the iPad or iPhone, which is usually the case, syncing does not result in transfer of updated information from my devices calendar to the computer's calendar. What am I missing here? Thanks!
Same problem as TrailJim, but 4 related problems...
Synced data did NOT xfer to Mac from iPhone (did xfer the other way). I rechecked settings and synced again. Still none of the info from iPhone went to computer.
But now I have FOUR COPIES of some calendar items, three copies of some and two copies of others in the iPhone. There are hundreds, possibly thousands of duplicates going back several years and reaching into the future. Many of these dupes were not on the Mac at all- the system duplicated items that were only on the iPhone.
It takes 15 seconds to delete each duplicate item (five 'clicks', two scrolls)- there is no bulk delete option. Duplicates will take hours to remove. It was only 3 months ago I finished cleaning out the duplicates from the last sync. OK, I cleaned cleaned out 1 year of data in about 1.4 hours. I noticed that data deleted long ago re-appeared after the sync. The iOS calendar crashed twice and the entire iPhone crashed once during editing.
And still it won't xfer calendar items from iPhone to Mac. So these are the 5 problems:
data won't transfer from iPhone to Mac
massive duplication of data during sync
no way to quickly remove duplicates
deleted data never goes away
iOS device crashes during massive editing
After 4 years Apple still can't get sync right. Are there any workarounds? A paper calendar would save hours of work every year. A Google calendar would probably work more reliably if you don't mind sharing your personal data with them. Not to mention all the other data- contacts, music, etc that people have lost with this sync system.
