II am new to the ipad word.....am need some help on this.....Is it possible to get Internet Explorer for the ipad.....is so How?....or if no...is their any suggestions on what to use that is compatible....I have to jump on my laptop for certain sites that have pop up or programs that only use IE...so any help will be greatful

No IE, but you can download browsers that lie about what they are.
It's called user agent switching.
Look in the app store, I think mercury does it.

I have a dial up connection for the internet through Netzero.com, and when I click on it to dial up to the internet, it brings up the Netzero home page on Internet Explorer. I've changed my default home page from Internet Explorer, to Firefox, but when the internet is connected, Internet Explorer is the one that brings up the Netzero home page, not Firefox, so I have to click on the icon for Firefox, and then it opens, with Netzero home page on it, so I have to go through 2 different processes to get to use Firefox. So I thought I'd try Firefox, but it doesn't seem to be faster than Internet Explorer, since the ISP that I have has a web accelerator, but it doesn't work on Firefox for some reason, I can see on a meter on my desktop when it's accelerating, and Firefox doesn't accelerate ever, if I change over to Internet Explorer, I can see the meter accelerating the web page. Try changing firefox to the default browser: [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Setting_Your_Default_Browser]. That will probably get firefox to open when you dial up.

For most binary file types, Internet Explorer asks whether you want to open or save the file, and gives you a further choice of skipping that prompt in the future. Nothing I do gives me access to this prompt for PDFs and Adobe Reader. On a computer out of the box, with a fresh installed of Adobe Reader set not to open PDFs in a browser window, a click on a link to a PDF will open automatically in Adobe Reader. It will not prompt me whether I want to open or save the file.
I can edit this choice in the registry for any other type of file. For instance, if I set MP3s to open automatically in Windows Media Player when clicked, and then I change my mind, I can delete a certain key in the registry and I'll be prompted once again. This is not true for PDFs associated with Adobe Reader.
So my question is, how can I get Internet Explorer to prompt me whether I want to open or save the PDF?
I'm using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8.

If all you want to do is use IE because some sites insists on it then what is suggested above may work, i.e, change the user agent to make the site think you are using IE. Most browsers support that feature either directly as in Safari or with add-on/extensions. The only things that may go wrong is some drawing or a few other things may not work properly if the site uses some non-standard IE-only html conventions. My opinion of that is if a web site is going to take that kind of windows-centric attitude in this day and age of multiple browsers then screw 'em.

Unfortunately no, you can make a change in Safari to allow it to appear to be IE to the website but if any Windows specific services (such as Active X) are needed it still won't work.
If you absolutely must have IE you should install Windows, preferably in a Virtual Machine, like Parallels.

How do I get internet explorer for MAC. I am only able to access a military site for work via IE.

IE for Mac hasn't existed since OS9 days. I think there are some browsers that will fake their identity, telling web sites that they are IE when they are really something else. The site may then work providing it doesn't really, really need IE. I don't have a list in front of me but browse the web for something like browser emulation (user agent).

You won't see anything obviously related to iCloud, Jimmy. But if you go to the home iTunes Store page while logged into your iTunes Store account, you should see a Purchases link now under the Quick Links header. That's the only part of iCloud active at this time.

No, it does not. It transfers purchases from the iDevice to the computer. The computer must be authorized for the Apple ID that the content was acquired with.

Did you see a "Bookmark" tab in your Menu Bar? All of your IE Favorites should be there if you pull it down.

Trying to log into a web site i could yesterday. will nt recognize password. it works on internet explorer and my ipad

web site is stampworld.com firefox saved an incorrect username and would not let me change it.. i went into password under tools and deleted the entry for this web site.. it no longer autoenters the wrong id or autoenters a pass word but still does not let me log on.. I use the correct id and when i enter the password and click log in the page flickers and the password field clears but will not log me in. id and password works perfectly on internet explorer and my ipad.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page and logging in again. Does that help?

I cant use the "google search" button but no proble, with internet explorer. The" feeling lucky" works.

i cant use the "google search" button with firefox 3.6.6 or even 3.5. I have no problem with searching google on internet explorer. The" Im feeling lucky" button works. The google search tab on the top right corner of firefox browser works fine. But the main google search button on the google site doesnt work. I havent changed anything. i cant do anymore google searches.

When click on search, the Google search result didn't update (the google search page didn't change). BUT the url bar on top did have the Google URL updated with the new search term.

So the URL is changed when I click the Google SEARCH button on the page. Just the page not changed nor updated.

No. Microsoft Internet Explorer runs on Windows based devices, There is no version for Apple Devices.
The iPad comes with Safari as its default browser.
There are also alternative browsers in the App Store liike Chrome, Opera among many others.
Perhaps one of those may work for you.
