Is it possible to get my fonts and graphics more like Ubuntu.

Is it possible to get decent graphics in Arch? I've tried all sorts of things and I never seem to get things the way I want. At work, I use Ubuntu 11.04 with GNOME fallback and I really like the fonts under the stock setup, but I can't seem to get Arch to do the same. In fact, I nearly can't stand reading pdf files (something I do a lot of for work) in Arch, because they are rendered so poorly. It is as if the whites are two white and the blacks too black, and there is a yellow like haze around the fonts. It is nearly painful to look at for extended periods! My hardware at home is comparable (if not better) to my hardware at work, so it doesn't make sense for it to be that way.
If I've got an ATI Radeon HD 4670 card, should I use the proprietary driver or generic driver? Or, does it not even matter?
I've installed and messed with the infinality font patches, but I can't seem to get anything good with them either. (I posted about font problems a while back, but I've upgraded a lot of hardware since then.) I've looked at the ubuntu font packages, but everything I see states that they are outdated.
I like Arch, because it is light and snappy compared to Ubuntu, so I don't want to switch OS'es.

I took a quick look at the Ubuntu packages for evince and poppler, and couldn't see an obvious reason for improvement over stock.
Poppler's font rendering is known to be bad (and difficult to fix).
The quality of individual monitors is one of many variables that can make a huge difference to the perceived quality of fonts.
The radeon vs ATI proprietary driver shouldn't make any difference, unless the open-source driver is royally broken, and I can't recall anyone else calling such brokenness plausible - it would be blatantly obvious to every user of it, surely.

If it's a Mac font and you're on Windows, you can't. If you are also on a Mac, you'll need to purchase the fonts (fonts are generally non-transferable, like software. One of the reasons pdf exists), install them and try your edits.
But it's best to edit the original document and create a new pdf when finished.

Possible to get JComboBox before and after chaged value?

Hi,
I have a JComboBox... whenever the JComboBox value change is it possible to get the before and after changed value? For example:
Let says the JComboBox is showing "One" and the user change it to "Three" after the user chged... I want to System.out.println before chged value ("One") and aft chged value ("Three")
I tried:
put in some code in the itemStateChanged() method... but no success...
Can someone pls provide some pointer or sample code...

How do I change the font and graphic size when using Firefox

I have recently switched from Windows to Mac. When resizing the window in Mac the font and graphic size do not follow -- they stay the same size and only more "white space" is created by increasing the window size. How do I get the graphics and fonts to adapt to the new window size or at least make the whole image bigger. I am using Firefox 3.6.12 and Mac OS10.6.5. Thanks for the help.

You can select to zoom the full page or only the text: View > Zoom > Zoom Text Only<br />
Firefox 3 can remember the zoom level site specific.

Touch panel fonts and Graphics

Gentlemen
In addition to my previous issue, I would like to ask regarding touchpanel TPC-2006 fonts and graphics. See, for our client we plan to give four screens in touch panel and in one screen it is with list of alarms. So here when list box control is drag n drop into front panel its showing horizontal and vertical scroll bar perfect,but when deployed to touch panel its surprise horizontal screen bar not seen this is one issue and also all fonts are not clear and things that seen in front panel when deploy its not shown in TPC why? is there any way if so please help me
I Have attach snap shot of it see in that in my front panel screen i hv got horizontal scroll bar, column header but in touch screen couldn't get all this. hope it will help to get better idea .

The graphics and font rendering in the touch panel module is a known issue.
As you have found out, the rendering of text and graphics on the TPC platform is not the same as running under Windows. The only way I have found to work around this issue is to continue to play around with the layout on the panel until you get acceptable results on the TPC.
I had an application a couple of years ago that was deployed to the TPC-2006 platform. When all was said and done, in order to get an acceptable looking panel on the TPC-2006 the windows panel looked severely misaligned in some areas.

Bitmapping Fonts and Graphics in Mountain Lion

My fonts graphics are bitmapping whenever I use Adobe CS5 (specifically, Illustrator and Indesign). Then I noticed that fonts and graphics are bitmapping in Chrome as well. It seems to work fine in Safari, but I still see some bitmapping, such as the editing bar above, as I type this question (in Safari).
I've also get a MacBook Pro 15" with Retina display.
Any ideas?

How to get my text and graphics to scale with the browser dynamically?

Hi there!
I've run into an issue where, with my design - I'm trying to get text and graphics to scale and move with the browser as someone adjusts it. (As opposed to it moving and falling apart as the browser window gets too small.)

I'd it to maintain it's position in the center of the browser window no matter how small or large, just to adjust in size, rather in position. I wonder if this is possible?

Please see the bold. If you're out of icloud storage, then you won't be able to backup to icloud unless you purchase more storage, but yet you said you backup to icloud.
If you really did backup to icloud no data would be loss - sounds to me that it didn't backup since you had no more free icloud storage space.

The way my iphone operates now, when a call comes in and the phone is in sleep/locked mode, the only option is to slide the lock to answer the call. When a call comes in and the phone is not locked, it gives the option to decline the call with a red button and answer the call with a green button. My question is this: Is it possible to set the phone so it gives the decline/answer option coming straight out of sleep/locked mode?

Nope. But single clicking the Sleep/Wake button will silence the ring, and double-clicking the Sleep/Wake button will send the call to voicemail, having the same effect as "Decline."

I am English and currently live in Germany , That aside as I not here to tell you my life story!!! Anyhow recently recieved some updates for my Iphone so thought I would download them via Itunes . Plugged phone into computer fired up I tunes and pressed the update all apps. A new terms and conditions message screen pops up . Now previously this was in English now its in German , therefore the question is :is there any way I can set the language settings to avoid this in the future ( can get by in Normal German but Legalese German is a whole new language I have no desire to learn)
So suggestions as to how I may or be able to resolve this issue would be most appreciated.

I would like to upgrade my current wireless router to an one that supports IPv6 and 802.11n. I want to do 6in4 tunnels for IPv6 to Hurricane Electric for my tunnel service and I have computers that have 802.11n. Currently I have the Actiontec (Verizon) MI424-WR wireless router with 10/100 ports. Can I get this through Verizon? I know I can go buy a Wireless router that can provide this on the outside, but want to ensure that this doesn't mess up my tv services. I have the three services currently on FIOS. TV, Internet and phone. So the router controls the TV settop boxes also.

Well Verzion them selve has no plans to switch customers over to ipv6 capable routers right away as its hard to get on Wireless N router from them as well unless you are on a buisness plan.Now If you Turn off your wireless from the Verizon side and hook up a router switch to a open port on the verizon router\modem there should be no problem as thats how i do mine.Also there are only certain routers and that support Wireless N and IPv6 access and I will post some info here as well about that.

HT201262 Fonts and graphics are slightly "fuzzy". Colors are not correctly displaying

After Mavericks installation on my Macbook Pro mid-2012 (non-retina), the fonts appear slightly fuzzy, the graphics seems less crisp and the colors are just "off". This issue seems to be system wide but is much worse whilst using Safari for some reason. (Safari 7.0)
Please advise and thanks in advance for any and all help/suggestions!
