Is it possible to get my NYC Department of Education email on my iPhone? I found an old discussion from a few years ago, tried to follow the advice and it wouldn't work.

I found a discussion from a few years back that had some varied advice on how to do this, but when I tried all the methods listed it still wouldn't work on my phone. I've also tried things I found on other sites. I'd love to be able to get my work email on my iPhone as we are doing blended learning this year and it's better not to give students my personal email.

I'll try it, but even so i would be at a loss of 5,000+ photos and videos, probably around 250 notes, and many of my contacts/texts.

    KJ, the NYC DOE shut off mobile activations on the exchange server in Fall 2011 due to inability to scale for the # of new activations.  However, if you previously had your email account connected to an iPhone, Android Phone, or iPad, your account is already activated for mobile use.
    The following information should work for MOBILE devices - so long as your account was on a mobile device prior to Fall 2011...
    I am currently using the following information on my iPad and Android Phone:
    Email: [email protected] (What you entered is correct)
    Server: mail.nycboe.net
    Domain: central
    Username: OUTLOOKID
    Password: password
    Mobile access is not supported by the Help Desk, etc.  They only support the use of Centrally issued Blackberries.  Also, the information above will not work for Mail, Outlook, etc. on a computer.  Only principals and some central employees are authorized for access via desktop-based solutions.  The rest of us are stuck with Outlook Web Access (with no easy way to download emails to stop getting over the limit notifications---a big frustration of mine).

    You need to restore the iPad.
    Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
    If that will not work, you will need to use Recovery Mode to restore.
    If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

    My daughters iPod is now disabled because of my youngest daughter trying to get on it while away. I tried to restore it as per instructions via support site. It took 5 hours to do the download. I left it over night and in the morning I found the iPod still disabled. I have a download on iTunes so I tried to click on that and it won't open. I have to admit, I am not a computer wizz here. Could someone possible direct me to what I should do now? Thank you.

    Error 1604
    This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
    If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
    Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
    Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
    Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
    The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
    If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

  • I have tried to update the plugins and it is not working. If I give you my email address, would you please take remove them because it is a real pain.

    Every time I go to a screen it shows the words"update plugins". so I try to update them and it doesn't work.     I dropped my external HD on my hard tile floor and now the drive is not working properly. I have tried a repair in Disc Ultilies with First Aid with no such luck. It started to work then I got a message "Filesystem verify or repair failed" about 3-4 minutes into the first aid repair disk. When I plug in I get the disk you inserted was not readable by this computer message. Please I need help on restoring this drive!
    Its a simple tech pro drive 1TB.

    Unfortunately, a drive that has been mechanically damaged by a drop and can't be repaired using Disk Utility probably can't be fixed any other way either. The best you can hope for is to salvage as much data from the drive as possible using one of the data recovery utilities linked below, and then replace the drive.

    Nevermind, once I posted this topic it gave me some helpful related topics on the side and I found my answer! Would have been nice if it could have given me those before I posted this!!! Anyway, if anyone else sees this and is having the problem, press and hold the Shift key while double clicking to open itunes on your desktop, then it will ask you to select a library and just choose the one with the most recent date!! (Use the Opt key instead of Shift for Mac users). I owe alot of thanks to the person on the board that helped me, been frustrated for DAYS!!! THANK YOU!

    You are saying the phone is locked, but then you are saying there is no provider. The two situations cannot peacefully coexist. Contact Apple and they can tell you if the phone is locked and if locked to which provider the phone is locked. People on this board are not Apple employees and cannot get you that information.

    Just re-set the App -
    Open the App
    Hold down the power button until the slider appears
    Hold down the home button (Don't use the slider) Until the App Closes
    You might lose your place, but shouldnt be too hard to find it again...

    iPhone or iPod touch displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive
    If you see the image below, charge the iPhone or iPod touch with USB power adapter for at least 15 minutes.

    If the screen still displays the low-battery icon, try turning the iPhone or iPod touch off and then on again.
