Is it possible to have 2 iPods on 1computer?

My daughter and I both each have our own iPod.. I have the Generation 2 nano, and she has the iPod touch. We only have one computer (a laptop.) Is it possible to have both of our iPods music saved through itunes and on the one computer? If so, how would I go about adding the 2nd iPod to my iTunes on my computer? Our iPod touch is already on the iTunes on our computer, the one not saved or connect is the old Generation 2 Nano!

  • Is it possible to have an ipod replaced if it doesn't work anymore?

my mom gave my boyfriend her old ipod, but a long time after that, the ipod didn't work anymore. it might have to do with the internal battery or it might have to be replaced. is it possible to have an ipod replaced after it is broken? can an internal battery be fixed?

It comes with a one year warranty, during that year you can choose to buy the applecare extended warranty.
If outside that timeframe then see

Take it into Apple and explain the situation and see what they can do

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Yes, it is certainly possible. I use 3 on my PC without any problems. You will need the latest versions of iTunes and iPod software updater.
Install iTunes followed by the iPod software updater, then run the updater, connect the new iPod and choose to restore. If successful make sure you choose a name for the new iPod different from the old. Then take a look at this: Using Multiple iPods with one computer

  • Is it possible to have an iPod and use 2 different iTunes accounts on it?

My son's father is buying him an iPod 4th Gen for Christmas.  I have NO experience with i-products.  I was saying to his father that I want to set up our son (who is 8) his own iTunes account so I can monitor what is downlaoded on his iPod and such.  He tells me that he was going to add him onto his own so that he will be able to share his apps with him.  So, my question is, if dad puts his apps on there, will I still be able to sign my son up for his own account?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
No, he should only use one account.

I have an iPod Touch and want to transfer apps and games from my Mac. Is it possible? Thanks
    thanks again

You can sync iOS apps from your compute's iTunes library to your iPod. An iPod will only run iOS apps/games. It will not run or even sync computer apps/games.

  • I have an iPod classic that syncs my entire library, I'd like to buy a smaller iPod, a nano maybe for the gym. Can I use the same library or do I need to set up a new library for the 2nd iPod? Is that possible? I mean for one to have 2 iTune librarys?

In other words, no. You don't need another iTunes Library for your new iPod
Another iTunes Library, that's only if someone elses music is mixed in with yours and you want to create another Windows user account with their music in it.
The iTunes Library is the master vault containing all your content, from there you create playlists or smart playlists specially tailored for the smaller iPod's storage requirements.
For instance if the iPod can hold only 2,000 songs, then you create a smart playlist based upon those rules/limitation. Plus what type of music you like.
You have a incredible degree of control with smart playlists, they update automatically so you only set the conditions for what goes into them. Including content from other created playlists and smart playlists.
Then, when you hook up the smaller iPod, it has it's own sync options, "all of your music and playlists" or "only select playlists"  So you use the second option to select just the smart playlist you tailored for the new iPod.
When you hook up the iPod Classic, only it's sync options are used, not the new iPod ones.
I hope I explained it better this time.

Is it possible to update my ipod touch 4g ios to 6.1.3 if i have 4.3.5

    it is
    - plug it to itunes and click the name of device, make sure you back up first and then click restore ipod
if it doesnt work, try turning it off, pressing home button and plugging it inside computer with itunes while you are doing so, this will make device go into recovery mode and then press "restore ipod"
    good luck

  • I have an ipod nano 8gb which is full, my husband is a jazz fan, I am thinking of buying another ipod classic 160gb - is it possible to link this to the same library in itunes and just put all his jazz on the new ipod?

I have an ipod nono 8gb which is about 5 years old and is full - my husband is a jazz fan, and now I have  jazz on my little ipod and my ipod touch. I am thinking of getting an ipod classic 160gb and putting all his jazz on to it. Is it possible for me to link it to my Itunes library and his Itunes library and just put all the jazz on to the new Ipod classic? if so, how do I then delete the jazz of the other two ipods?

There is no limit to the number of iPods you can sync to one computer, iTunes library, or account.
You might want to create a seperate iTunes library for him, perhaps on another user account on the system and move all of his Jazz music over to that new library.  Once you have all of his music moved over to his own library, remove it from your own and then resync both of your iPods to clear his music off.  This is just one way to do it.
If that was a bit confusing, take a look at this article for a few ways to manage multiple iPods with one computer.

  • First-time user of IPod Shuffle, my husand has an IPod Touch and has hundreds of songs already on his ITunes account. If Is it possible to have two ITunes accounts so his music is not automatically loaded onto my new Shuffle?

Just bought an IPod Shuffle; my husband has an IPod Touch and has hundreds of songs on his ITunes account.  Is it possible to have two different accounts on the same computer to prevent his music from being loaded onto my Shuffle?

When you say "iTunes account," I think you mean iTunes library.  An iTunes "account" is what you use to sign in to the iTunes Store (your Apple ID) and purchase songs (and other media).  The iTunes library is what you have on your computer, with your songs and playlists.  That is what you use for syncing iPods.
You can have a separate iTunes library.  If you create a new user account on your computer (using Windows) and log in to that user account, iTunes will create a new iTunes library for that account.  In fact, Windows will keep ALL of your documents separate, as if you are using a separate computer.  That is probably the best way to keep your songs in a different iTunes library.
You can also create a separate iTunes library in the same Windows user account, if you use this procedure to switch between iTunes libraries
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1589
Also, you can use the same iTunes library, and decide what songs you want put on the shuffle.  iTunes does not automatically put songs on the shuffle, unless you tell it to do so.  This document explains how to load content on shuffles
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1719
NOTE:  If the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is not visible, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  When connected, your shuffle appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES.
FYI - There is a link to the shuffle user manual on this support web page for the shuffle

  • Is it possible to have podcasts being played in chronological order instead of reversed chronological order in an iPod Classic?

Is it possible to have podcasts being played in chronological order instead of reversed chronological order in an iPod Classic? It is not an issue, just something that irritates me as I want to be able to listen to them in chronological order.

Yes, but you need to make a custom playlist to do so. There is no option on the classic to reverse the playback order.
