Is it possible to have multi- index.html on a bilingualsite?

Hi
I only write multilingual sites.
My work around is to have to  individual sites for each language linked with a flag on the master page that has the same links on all languages master page
This means that every file on a 5 language website is multiplied (not a problem with a html page but with images and ecommerce it gets heavy on the hosting).
Would it be possible to create the ability to rename an index page. (this option is currently only available with non-index pages in the page properties meta)
ie
index-fr.html
index-en.html
index-it.html
index-de.html
and so on...
then provided the page names were all different we could use one directory and one image library.
Or am i missing something?

  • Pages for iOS: possible to have multi-level numbering?

    Hi all,
I'm a new user to Pages for iPad (my iPad 3rd gen arrived last week w00t) and just imported a word document with fairly complex formatting. First thing i note is thst all my multi-level numbering is gone.
Does the app not support this feature? Does anyone have a work-around? The only option i see is to not use numbering at all and use tabs to position the text, but then that breaks compatibility with Word and is very clunky besides.
    Any thoughts are appreciated.

    Hi,
In the criteria, first have the tables name and above it the folder names (superset).
Next in the table properties, you can select Display Folder & Column Headings. This displays folder name first and then the table names, so that it appears as table names are a sub set of the folder name.
    Hope this helped/ answered

  • Removing index.html from URL bar

Hi guys, I have uploaded my site to a URL. But i can only see my website if i add /index.html to the URL. How do i get it so that if i go to www.thisismysite.com i can see it, rather than having to type www.thisismysite.com/index.html?
    Cheers,
    Ian

    Hello,
This needs to be changed at the hosting end of the site. In case you are using Adobe Business Catalyst for hosting, please make sure you have created index.html as the start page of the website.
If you are using other hosting service, please contact them and they will help you set index.html as the start page.
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I have a default servlet and an index.html?

    Hi,
I writing a small webapp to test/understand the 2.2 Servlet Spec. I am deploying this as a WAR to Orion, Tomcat and Silverstream.
    The app's name is: "myapp"
My application has an index.html, which is listed as the sole welcome-file in the welcome-file-list element in the app's web.xml.
The interesting thing is that, after adding a default Servlet (<url-pattern>/</url-pattern>), I can no longer access the app's index.html either implicitly or explicitly:
    1. Implicit:
    2. Explicit:
All of these invoke the Default Servlet in all 3 app servers.
Question: How can I have both a default Servlet and an index page?
    Thanks in advance.
    Miles

you can define it in the web.xml file
look at the dtd, element "welcome-file-list"

  • Is it possible to have 2 different output config XML files and index the data into 2 endeca apps using the same indexing component ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin

    Hi ,
We have a catalog that defines 2 types of products (they have too many different properties), so wanted to keep them on two different MDEX engines and serve the applications requests. Here DB catalog and front end ATG application is same for both the MDEX instances.
Is it possible to have 2 different output config XML files and index the data into 2 endeca apps using the same indexing component ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin?
    Thanks
    Dev

Hi, also have had some problem some monthes ago - I created separete component ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdminSecond. After that one of my colleage gave me some advice:
The creating separate component like ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin for the second IOC is possible way for resolving your situation. But I afraid that this way will be required creating mane duplicates for already existed components.
In my opinion the better way is the following:
starting from AssemblerApplicationConfiguration and ApplicationConfiguration component. It contains details for connecting between ATG and Endeca. Of course you should configure different components for different Endeca Apps.
    After that:
Find all components that uses AssemblerApplicationConfiguration and ApplicationConfiguration. Customize these components for using one or another  *Configuration component depending on what index works. (many variants released it: the most simple global custom component with flag.)
Then customize the existed ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin. Using one or another IOC  and setting the flag in global custom component when index started. You can add some methods into your custom ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin like:
Execute baseline index for both IOC (one by one)
    Execute baseline for IOC 1
    Execute baseline for IOC 2.
Note: you should be afraid about incremental (partial) index in this configuration. But resolving conflicts in incremental index should be done after full implementation these changes.

  • Is it possible to have Thunderbird send an e-mail automatically when a message with a specific subject is received?

Is it possible to have Thunderbird send an e-mail automatically when a message with a specific subject is received?
I basically want to create a rule that will send an automatically crafted form e-mail to the sender when I receive an e-mail with the subject line "New Swimmer". Is this possible?

Thank you Todd, I was able to get it to work but I do have a few more questions...
    1) When I tested this, at the top of the message, before any of the text I created, this showed up: This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------040406040801080102080500 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
    2) After the signature line, this showed up: --------------040406040801080102080500 Content-Type: image/jpeg Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Content-ID: /9j/4AAQSkZJRgABAQEAYABgAAD/4QAiRXhpZgAATU0AKgAAAAgAAQESAAMAAAABAAEAAAAA AAD/2wBDAAIBAQIBAQICAgICAgICAwUDAwMDAwYEBAMFBwYHBwcGBwcICQsJCAgKCAcHCg0K CgsMDAwMBwkODw0MDgsMDAz/2wBDAQICAgMDAwYDAwYMCAcIDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwM DAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAz/wAARCAC5ApUDASIAAhEBAxEB/8QA HwAAAQUBAQEBAQEAAAAAAAAAAAECAwQFBgcICQoL/8QAtRAAAgEDAwIEAwUFBAQAAAF9AQID AAQRBRIhMUEGE1FhByJxFDKBkaEII0KxwRVS0fAkM2JyggkKFhcYGRolJicoKSo0NTY3ODk6 Q0RFRkdISUpTVFVWV1hZWmNkZWZnaGlqc3R1dnd4eXqDhIWGh4iJipKTlJWWl5iZmqKjpKWm p6ipqrKztLW2t7i5usLDxMXGx8jJytLT1NXW19jZ2uHi4+Tl5ufo6erx8vP09fb3+Pn6/
(It was actually much longer than that)
Is there anyway that I can get that to go away? I obviously would prefer a nice, cleanly formatted e-mail to be sent just like I would send if I were creating it on the spot.
    Thanks,

  • How to view all pages of a multi-page HTML email in Mac Mail 5+ (Lion to Mavericks)?

In previous versions of Mac Mail (up to that included with Snow Leopard, Mail 4), it was possible to scroll through all pages of a multi-page HTML email, like that send from the Tivoli Storage Manager reporting system.
Since Lion, that has not been possible. The first page displays, but that's it.
As a possible complication, I'm accessing an Exchange server, not IMAP.
I have not been able to find a setting that might be related to this, nor have I found anyone who seems to be perturbed by this issue. Perhaps there's very few of us trying to read multi-page Tivoli reports on a Mac.
In any case, I would prefer not to switch to a different mail app, or sign on to the Outlook Web Service version of our email to see the full report.
    Any thoughts?

I've been able to find someone willing to do some testing that I can't do without installing old versions of Reader on my computer.  The surprising (to me) result is that the Submit button causes the problem.  By simply removing the Submit button, Reader 10 is now able to print page 1.  The Submit button was set up to do a "mailto".  I don't know whether other destinations also cause the problem of the page not printing with old versions of Reader.

  • Horizontal Menu Bar works when index.html is appended to url, but not otherwise

My spry horizontal menu bar works like I want when I put /index.html at the end of the url for my website, but when I just go to the website without typing that in the index page shows up fine, but some of the links in the menu don't work. How is that possible if the index page is what shows up when you put in the usual www.domain.com?

You're fine; don't worry about how you sound!
I did not get two different pages when I went for your ...tennis.com address vs. your ...tennis.com/index.html address. Were you looking at the pages locally (preview in a browser) or looking at them on your website?
If your local site contains the files you want to have on the server, synchronize your files [entire local site] (on the files panel, the 'recycle' symbol) to see which files are different, remote from local. Then upload (being sure to include associated files).
The basic reason for a Spry menu bar not working is if the javascript and the menubar css file are not accessible or not linked to the page. The other reason would be if Javascript is turned off (but you said it worked with one file...) or if the javascript code at the bottom of the page is somehow either not there or broken:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    var MenuBar1 = new Spry.Widget.MenuBar("MenuBar1", {imgDown:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarDownHover.gif", imgRight:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarRightHover.gif"});
    //-->
    </script>
Well, I've been pretty long-winded about this. I hope you have been able to sort out the difficulty!

  • I'm trying to get to my website; all it brings up is a deleted outdated webpage, NOT the current "index.html" page.

It used to act like all my other 5 or 6 webbrowsers. Now it acts strange, no matter how many times I uninstall FoxFire, and reinstall it. How do I uninstall it with NO history left behind. I've cleared all stuff from within Foxfire with no results. Help! I used to use it all the time along with other browsers to test pages out. Now foxfire will NOT show my website pages.

Thanks FredMcD for your info, but so far, problem is still the same only in Firefox 29... I'm using Mac, and I assume you are using PC, so I had to look around to find the items you spoke of.
I'm using the Apple Mac version of FireFox 29.0.1 on Mac OS X Version 10.9.2 on my MacBook Pro 17 laptop computer.
I have no idea how to "Start FireFox in Save Mode"...
Poking around in all the preferences, I finally found where to turn OFF "Use Hardware Acceleration". But it makes no difference. Still displays the following items in all three places, and the search results are all unrelated to the webpage I'm trying to load...
I am typing "http://www.TheRockMCC.org/index.html" into the browser; that is, "TheRockMCC.org" is my home page [in all my browsers]. Only lately has Firefox NOT display my home page.
"http://www.TheRockMCC.org/index.html" is displayed for a second or two, then it immediately displays the following in the 3 display areas...
"http://www.therockmcc.org/!_extra/itronclock/itronclock.js"l is what is displayed in the "Search" bar.
"http://us.yhs4.search.yahoo.com/yhs/errorhandler?hspart=gt&hsimp=yhse-gt&q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.therockmcc.org%2F!_extra%2Fitronclock%2Fitronclock.js&type=576859" is what is displayed in the "Address" bar.
"Tab" displays "DNS Solution Yahoo Error ..."
I've cleared EVERYTHING -cookies, cache, all possible things that can be checked, I checked all, and cleared them multiple times, but to no avail.
the "itronclock" is no longer installed on my host server, and that whole folder has been deleted from the host server also. Why it still shows up is beyond my understanding. That whole area in webpage has been commented out, since not using it for the time being...

  • Can not edit the index.html site

I designed a Site www.alter-porthhof.de and maked it ready
for editing with contribute. Everything works fine, but I seems
that I maked one mistake: I edited the index.html on my computer
for testing, and than I gave the user domainowner the admin rights.
He can edit everything and it works fine except the index.hmtl
    site.
How can I change this? Is it possible to delete the hole
contribute thing, and than to from the beginning?

    1. when you use dreamweaver to build and maintain the
website, check in the index.html file, so the lock-file
    (index.html.lck) will be removed
    2. wehen you use Contribute too, check if you have a draft
open of the index.html file, publish the draft or discard the draft
    3. check with an ftp program on the server for index.html.lck
and delete this file, this will remove the lock on the page

  • Home Page URL without "/index.html"

Is there a way to change the Home Page URL of a MUSE website so that "/index.html" does not appear after the .com?
I'm concerned that Google will interpret our home page as a duplicate page.
Thanks for your help in advance!

In terms of getting friendly URLs, there are many server side ways to do this. Most servers on the web are Apache, and, if you feel brave, you can read up on .htaccess files to do redirects to more friendly URLs. They are complicated, and not for the coding faint of heart, so be careful. Note, though, that URLs created by Muse cannot take advantage of these friendly URLs automatically, and links would need to be manually pointed to the right place through the hyperlinks drop down.
However, let's talk about the root fear here: SEO. Having index.html on the links is not known to have any negative impact on your site's SEO. There is no official source from either Google or Microsoft on the topic that states anything solid on the topic. Both do have information regarding duplicate content, and Google comes the closest to actually making a comment by stating that links should be consistent. When using Muse's page linking functionality, we will output all links to be consistent everywhere in your site, and as such, will comply with Google's SEO guidelines in this regard.
In regards to duplicate content, the filename index.html is a special filename for websites and webservers and is the default page name on most servers. Servers with server-side languages and with other configurations like the one I mentioned above can have different names, but this is the most common by far. Without extra configuration, your server will serve both index.html and / as the same page regardless of wether or not it is a Muse site. Google and Bing, in our experience, are smart enough to merge the two files without any trouble, but the proof is in the pudding, as they say. There is a simple test you can use to check and make sure they are doing the proper thing. If you would like to verify that there are not duplicate results in the search, simply go to Google or Bing and search for "site:http://www.mydomain.com Home" without quotes. Just replace your domain name in there, and search for your homepage title, and you should see your homepage listed. In every Muse site I checked (just pulling ones at random form the site of the day) there was only 1 listing for the homepage, indicating there was no confusion by the search engines. If you'd like to clarify or check things further, you can always use Google's WebMaster Tools to take additional actions in informing Google about your site.
We care about the SEO of your sites and do our best to ensure that things we can do automatically, we try and cover for you. We are always making improvements in every area of our code, and this is one area in particular we know you all are passionate about. Unfortunately, the area of SEO has a lot of misinformation, misunderstandings, and unknowns that spread very quickly and will get adopted without a real understanding. In addition to doing our best to comply to good SEO practices, we also do our best to make sure we're not filling your sites with false remedies and cheap tricks that don't quite work. When we look at new features, we think about their impact on your sites, on SEO, and on what we can do to improve both your and your website visitor's experience. For example, when we added mobile and tablet layouts, we also added canonical and alternate meta tags to your pages so that search engines knew about the duplicate content, and also knew where and when to redirect users. And as new things come out, we'll continue to do our best to have the same amount of due diligence in ensuring you rank as high as possible for your searches. And we'll continue to examine areas where we could use improvement, and do our best to make them whenever we can.
Hopefully that clears things up a bit.

  • Can you have an index page be .php?

I want to change my index.html page to one that is .php. Is
this possible or do I have to create a new .html page that looks
    like my .php page.

To be safe, be sure to remove the .html version from your
    directory. Some
hosts give precedence to file names, thus if the .html
    version remains, your
.php version will not show up as the default index page.
By the way, some hosts also allow you to parse HTML files
    with PHP; can be
handy if you add a PHP menu to your site but don't want to
    lose any rankings
you may have on the .HTML pages (or mess around with a ton of
    302
    redirects).
