Is it possible to have Public Folder contacts set as default contacts on a blackberry

I have a client who would like their public folder contacts set as the default contacts folder for their blackberry users. Is this possible?
Thanks.

The HDMI port on your set top box is almoste certainly an output port and can't be used for the Apple TV.
There are hardware converters that will convert HDMI to various other types of output, however there are some issues with doing so that you should be aware of.
HDCP
HDCP compliant converters will not allow you to watch HDCP protected content such as that from the iTunes Store. Non compliant converters exist but we cannot discuss them under the Terms of Use for these communities.
Resolution and aspect ratio
I'm not aware of any converters that will scale the output from the Apple TV, any TV or projector which is used will need to be widescreen and support resolutions of 720p.

  • Export Public Folder contacts to CSV File using Exchange management Shell

    Hi All
Is there a command i can run in the exchange management shell to export all public folder contacts (which are in many sub folders) to a CSV file?

    Hello Ben,
Per my knowledge, you cannot use Exchange Management Shell to export the contacts in public folder to csv file.
If you want to export contacts in public folder to a csv file, you can follow this way to do that:
Open Outlook and create a Temp Contact Folder
Move all the contacts to the Temp Contact Folder
Use Outlook export contacts to csv file .

  • Is it possible to add birdthdays for public folder contacts to your personal calendar?

I have a user asking me why their iPhone can alert them to birthdays of contacts from our shared company contacts, but Outlook doesn't display the birthdays.
Our environment is Office 365, Windows 7, Office Pro Plus 2010.
Is there any way to add the birthdays from contacts in a public folder to the users personal calendar? There are approximately 3,000 contacts in this public folder if that makes a difference (i.e. a solution that requires touching each contact
    by hand won't work).

Would touching the contacts by macro work? I have a macro that does this at the end of this article:
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/contacts/adding-birthdays-and-anniversaries-to-outlooks-calendar/ - but its not working on my PF contacts. It might be better to use a macro to create birthday events in the calendar - I have a macro that is halfway
there, I'll make it work with my PF.
Are the birthdays in another calendar already? If so, copying them to the personal calendar could be the easiest (group by birthday category then drag.)

  • Is it possible to have sub-folder events inside an event on iPhoto?

Is it at all possible to have an Event (eg. Pets) then have sub-events inside that event (eg. Dog, Cat etc.) in iPhoto?
I can't seem to find anything...
    Any help greatly appreciated.

    No it's not.
Basically, Events are organisation for those who can't be bothered. SImple date and time grouping of photos.
If you want more, now it's time to explore Albums and Folders.
So, a Folder called 'Animals' and within it, two Albums, one for 'Dog' and one for 'Cat'
Albums are much more flexible than events, you can arrange the photos within albums with much more flexibility. A photo can be in multiple albums using no extra disk space, whereas to have a photo in multiple Events requires a duplicate file and so on.
FWIW here's a canned answer I use to illustrate some of the organisation possibilities of iPhoto...
I use Events simply as big buckets of Photos: Spring 08, July - Nov 06 are typical Events in my Library. I use keywords and Smart Albums extensively. I title the pics broadly.
    I keyword on a
    Who
    What
Where basis (The When is in the photos's Exif metadata). I also rate the pics on a 1 - 5 star basis.
Using this system I can find pretty much find any pic in my 50k library in a couple of seconds.
So, for example, I have a batch of pics titled 'Seattle 08' and a  typical keywording might include: John, Anne, Landscape, mountain, trees, snow. With a rating included it's so very easy to find the best pics we took at Mount Rainier.
    File -> New Smart Album
    set it to 'All"
    title contains Seattle
    keyword is mountain
    keyword is snow
    rating is 5 stars
Or, want a chronological album of John from birth to today?
    New Smart Album
    Keyword is John
Set the View options to Sort By Date Ascending
    Want only the best pics?
add Rating is greater than 4 stars
The best thing about this system is that it's dynamic. If I add 50 more pics of John  to the Library tomorrow, as I keyword and rate them they are added to the Smart Album.
In the end, organisation is about finding the pics. The point is to make locating that pic or batch of pics findable fast. This system works for me.

  • Is it possible to have two different Contacts Lists in a Mac?

I have to manage two separate Lists of Contacts.  Is this possible in a Mac?  Can I have two different Contacts electronic files?

This is not possible. What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Note that you can always create two different groups within the Contacts app, and sort your contacts into one or the other (or both, if any are common to both). Alternately, if the goal is to keep contacts for two different people separate, the appropriate method is to create two different user accounts on the machine, and have each person use their own account.

  • Mail app public folder

Is it possible to use public folder, contact in public folder et group of contact in public folder with Mail App ?
    Mail App version 6.3 (1503) and OS X 10.8.3

I don't quite understand what you are describing, but Mail uses contacts in the Contacts application and previously sent email addresses in its own Previous Recipients database. It cannot use anything not in one of those two places.

  • Changed Outlook Contact Form back to IPM.Contact - now I can't save contact in Public Folder

I recently changed the Contact form that we were using back to the default IPM.Contact. I did this so that it  would be consistent for only a few of us had a custom contact template to use and it made it difficult to share contact information. After
changing the contact default back to IPM.Contact and changing all the contacts to reflect the default Message class, no can add a contact to the Public Folder contact file. I have tried several different setting for the permsion. Publishing Author, Publish
Editor, Owner, it still gives the error
The item cannot be saved to this folder. The folder was deleted, or you do not have permission. Do you want to save a copy of it in the degfualt folder for the item.
When I changed the form back to IPM.Contact  i ran the omglass.exe to change it on all the contacts in the public folder.
Please advise for no contacts can now be added to our company contact list

    Hi,
Please right-click this public folder, click Properties. In the General tab, make sure the field of "When posting to this folder, use" is set to IPM.Contact.
Please restart Outlook with Outlook /checkclient switch(Start > Run > type Outlook /checkclient and enter) to have a try. If it fails, please create a new Outlook profile to have a try:

  • Move Mailbox database and Public Folder database from VMwar RDM drive to VMware VMFS/VMDK Drive

    Good Afternoon,
So I have 1 DAG with 3 mailbox server (1 physical and 2 Virtual (vmware)).  The Vmware server Mailbox and Public folder databases/logs are currently on RDM drive.  I need to get rid of the RDM drives and use VMFS/Vmdk drives for mailbox and public
folder databases.  I was thinking 3 options:
1- Introduce new VM Members into DAG and simply give these new VMs VMFS/VMDK drives, add servers into DAG and have DAG replicate databases to new server.  I really don't want to do this.
2-On current VM, delete RDM drive along with database, add VMFS/VMDK drive replacement and have the DAG copy database.
3- On current VM, suspend replication, copy database/logs in temp location, delete the RDM drive, create the VMFS/VMDK drive, copy the database and logs to new drive, enable replication.  Do the same for public folder database/logs, but not sure how
to stop/start replications, since its not in DAG?
I'm looking for solution that will take least amount of time.  Option 3 seems best solution, but not sure if there any gotchas.. What are you thought??
Thanks in advance for you help

Take the database offline means stop replications to the the passive mailbox server?
Also, what is procedure to take public folder offline.  We have public folder replicated on all 3 servers.
    Hi cuttabutta,
Yes, take the database offline on the passive server can stop replication from primary server.
you can also take the public folder database offline to stop replication.
In addition, you can refer to the following article to configure public folder replication:

  • How do I export public folder data from inactive exchange server?

I have migrated from SBS2003 (old) to SBS2008 (new)
Used migration wizard / answer etc...  All went well, expect for the public folders; which failed.
Question: How do I retrieve the public folder information from the OLD (inactive) server and import it to the NEW server?
The OLD server has been removed from the domain. I have backups of the OLD server and its original hard drive; where the public store info is located.
I tried PDDAVAdmin.exe; did not work for me.
    All help is greatly appreciated.
    Bill

    Hi Amit,
I did as Zoltán said; searched the Internet for edb recovery tools and found a number of companies and Software Products which might help. I also considered your option as well but I have limited experience with building a recovery server and it sounds time consuming.
Our office is small we have 10 users; we keep contact lists in the public folders. I want to restore the contact lists from the inactive source server to the active destination.
I believe the process is called "rehoming" (from the web -- "In a Windows environment, rehoming is the process of moving public folders from one Exchange server to another. It involves the creation of a replica of the public folders on the target destination server, waiting for replication to complete, and then removing the public folders from the original source server.")
    Background:
We have two servers FHHSERVER (the source, SBS2003) and FHHSERVER2 (the destination, SBS2008).
I used the SBS2008 migration wizard. The important stuff in the exchange database transferred ok; all emails, schedules, tasks, notes, etc. Everything appeared to work; including public folders.
Microsoft allows a 21 day grace period to complete the migration. I believed the migration was successful so on the 21st day, I followed Microsoft’s instructions and demoted the source server, removing it from the domain.
    That’s when the trouble started….
Unknown to me; the public folders remained on the old source server. I did not detect this problem since, during the 21 day migration grace period, the destination server was using the old source server to replicate public folders. As long as the old source server was active, eveyone could open public folder contact lists. After the source server was demoted, the destination server lost its replicate and now our users cannot access that information.
Another problem is that the inactive server is n o longer licensed and the Exchange console cannot connect to its stores.
It would seem to me that this problem should be relatively simple to fix. I need some way to open the public folder stores and export the contact lists. I’m not even sure where the public folder database is located on the hard drive.
I hope this explains the situation in greater detail and that you may be able to offer some insight on how I might resolve this issue.
Oh, I also tried using EXMerge but cannot seem to make it work either. <http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=429163EC-DCDF-47DC-96DA-1C12D67327D5&displaylang=en>

  • Public folder is not visible over office network

Small office, mixed network of about 8 macs and a pile of PC's. I'm not sure about the pc's but none of the macs can see my shared folder. They can get to my files by logging in as me, but not as guest. Nothing appears in the list of volumes when logging in as guest. Sharing is turned on. The public folder is set to drwxrwxrwx. The drop box is set to drwx-wx-wx. I tried to reassign it using the utility sharepoints, to no avail. Tried to assign it a new sharepoint using NetInfo Manager using this tutorial at macosxhints. and it also failed to accomplish anything. I am at a loss. I think it started happening after I updated to 10.4, but I am not sure, it has been going on for a long while now...
other possibly related wierdness: I show up in the terminal and some other network related places as one of the pc's on the network.
    as in:
    Welcome to Darwin!
    lindsey:~ jesse$
Lindsey being the other pc user, Jesse being me.
    Thanks for the help!
    Dual 2.7 G5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Well, I'm tapped for now at least, with respect to things that I can remember seeing or reading about having caused this issue in the past. Just to recap to make it easier for anyone else that may see the thread:
The 'shareDir' property has a value of "Public"
    The folder "~/Public/" exists
The permissions of "Public" are "777" (the default is 755 but the 'x' on "others" is what is important).
    Filevault is not enabled.
Guest Access is enabled and is working because they can log on, just not choose volumes
Users can "see" the "Public" folder of a freshly created account.
The password has been updated to "Tiger" standards.
Since it works for the new accounts, the problem has to be something user specific, but it isn't any of the usual suspects, so I'm baffled. Just in terms of looking for anything unusual, these commands might turn something up (the 'ls' ones are repeated with 'sudo' explicitly to see if "root" sees things differently compared to other users because the AFP server runs as root):<pre>ls -lend ~
    ls -lend /Users/username
    sudo ls -lend /Users/username
    ls -lend /Users/username/Public/
    sudo ls -lend /Users/username/Public/
nicl . -read /users/username</pre>Another approach that might turn something up is to try to explicitly mount your "Public" folder from another Mac via the command line to see what errors are generated. For this, you will need an IP address for your computer to be entered in place of where it says "11.22.33.44":<pre>mkdir /Volumes/testguest
    mount_afp afp://11.22.33.44/username /Volumes/testguest
    or
mount_afp "afp://;AUTH=No%20User%[email protected]/username" /Volumes/testguest</pre>The other thing is that since the problem appears to be limited to your account, you could skip the troubleshooting and try setting up a "share point" somewhere outside your user's folder, such as in "/Users/Shared". If it works, then hopefully that can be used as a workaround for this most perplexing problem...

  • How to have an email contact with an Apple specialist ?

I'm not here for having helps about a problem with my iPad, I just would like to know if it's possible to have an email contact with a specialist because I have a presentation on Apple for my BAC and I would like to have informations on the firm...

I'm not being rude, just don't want you to have unreasonable expectations.

  • How do I share ONLY my Public Folder, not my entire Hard Drive?

Hi, I'm trying to set up my home wireless network to share files between my two Macs- a Macbook and a Macbook Pro. Instead of allowing access to just the public folder, you can see the entire contents of each hard drive with no restrictions. So much for privacy! I'm new to Macs and I'm sure it's just some simple setting tat I'm overlooking. I had Appleshare turned on but I've since turned it off without making a difference. Can I go through each individual folder and set sharing priviledges like on a PC? Thanks in advance!

Since you are logging on to another computer as a registered user, you have access to whatever a registered user is entitled to. That is to be expected. I don't see how it is a problem. What privacy issue are you talking about when you are logging in as yourself? Furthermore, no one can access what you can when logged in as yourself if they do not know the correct username/password. There is no issue here.
But, if you want to use a Mac like a Windows machine, You can create a folder in the home directory of each computer where you log in as Guest and have Read/Write privileges. I'd create such a folder inside your Public Folder, and set its special permissions, and I would not change permissions on any other folders as that could cause security and general use issues with applications.
I think you can set Group to nobody(others can offer better suggestions here) and give Group Read/Write permissions. Then, you can use that folder to share files like with a windows machine, but it makes no sense to me.
My real suggestion is to understand how the Mac works, and it is very secure, and not use it like Windows.

  • Exchange 2010 Public Folder Query

    Hello all,
At the moment we have two mailbox servers. I'll call them O1 and O2. O1 and O2 each have a public folder database. All mailbox databases are pointed to O1 (so O2 only acts as a duplicate).
We're going to replace O1 and O2 with N1, N2 and N3. N1 and N3 will have public folder databases.
In order to get to that state would it be ok for me to do the following:
    -Run ReplaceReplicaOnPFRecursive.ps1 -TopPublicFolder "\" -ServerToRemove "O2" -ServerToAdd "N1"
    -Run AddReplicaToPFRecursive.ps1 -TopPublicFolder "\" -ServerToAdd "N3"
-Point all mailbox databases at N1 (when I know that replication has finished).
    -Run
    RemoveReplicaFromPFRecursive.ps1 -TopPublicFolder "\" -ServerToRemove "O1"
    -Decommission O1 and O2.
Please let me know if I have interpreted these scripts correctly...many thanks!
    brian_c

    Hi,
Per my knowledge, the first step we need to do is to add N1 as PF replica partner for the O1. It may take a very long time to replicate all content. After all the PFs have been replicated to N1, we can run the MoveAllReplicas.ps1 or the ReplaceReplicaOnPFRecursive.ps1
script to replace server O1 with a new server N1 in the replication list.
It is the same process to add N3 as PF replica partner. Before you decided to decommission O1 and O2, please make sure all replicas on them have been removed.
Here is an article about these scripts which may help you to understand them for your reference.

  • Exchange 2010 public folder not showing on exchange 20003 mailbox

    Hi,
I have public folder on exchange 2003 and separate public folder on exchange 2010. On exchange 2010 user mailbox, I can see both 2003 and 2010 public folders. On exchange 2003 user mailbox, I can only see 2003 public folders. It is not the permission issue
as I have given the user "owner" right and see not able 2010 public folder inless i move 2003 user mailbox to 2010 exchange.
Appreciate if anyone could help me if to point me to directions or any hotfix I can run?
    Thank you very much.
    Pwint

Are you using OWA or Outlook to view the public folders?
If you're using OWA, the reason you can't see the folders is that OWA in Exchange 2003 uses WebDAV, which is no longer present in Exchange 2010.
If you're using Outlook, you'll need to use the troubleshooting logs to determine the cause of the problems.
It could be related to Outlook trying to connect directly to 2010 mailbox server instead of CAS. Because normally the mailbox server is installed without the CAS role, it does not allow a direct Outlook connection. Or it could be something else,
    like authentication.
