My MAC Book Pro has been stolen one month ago. I would like to know if the MAC address (that should be an unique identifier of the MAC) can be found in order to trace where the computer is should it be connected to Internet. Thanks for any support on this matter! Cristina

Since I migrated my files from one Mac to another and am now running Yosemite, Photoshop Elements 9 (adequate for what I do) is not showing the previous functionality on some of the tools. I have uninstalled/reinstalled twice to no avail. Is there a fix? Also, when I tried to update, it comes up with this error.
I have a similar problem. I found out that my macbook air created a new USER with my former's computer user name. You can check that by going into System Preferences -> User & Groups, and see if a "Other user" has been created. You have to login under this new USER to find your transferred contacts in the address book.
My problem is that I do not know how to merge the 2 USER logins or transfer the data from the new USER created into the existing one. -
Can anyone tell me why my photo stream is not loading all 1,000 pictures onto my new iphone 5c? i backed up my old phone onto the mac and plugged in my new phone then hit backup. it only gave me 100 pictures????? why?
thanks for any help!Because photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days, allowing enough time for your devices to download them. Only shared streams keep photos in iCloud indefinitely. Your other photos are probably older than 30 days and are no longer in iCloud.
Also, photo stream photos aren't included in your backup, only camera roll photos are. If you want to include photo stream photos that are not already in your camera roll in your backup, you have to save them to the camera roll before backing up. -

We are transferring all our iTunes songs to a new computer do to space issues on old one. My daughter's ipod touch is an older generation and she cannot connect to the new computer without wiping out her current itunes songs and rebuilding them on her ipod. She doesn't want to do that do to time constraints. Does anyone know how to get around this ? Thank you.
This is true. Ipod touch will sync with one and only one computer at a time. If you sync to another it will indeed erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.

Generally when you get the resource in use error logging out or rebooting will take care of it. When a file just absolutely refuses to delete try restarting in Safe Mode (hold the left shift key after the computer restarts) and then empty the trash.

iTunes 11.1.2 sound is distorted on my iMac, from the library from the store, from my external DAC. Tried swapping USB ports, reloading songs in an uncompressed format, etc. Sound is awful. Thanks for any ideas.
I have the same issue. If I open up the Equalizer and select any setting (including the one that is already checkmarked), the sound corrects itself. However, it goes right back to crappy when a new song comes on.

IMac Desktop computer >OS X Updates Avail Banner - How to stop? I don't want to install Mavericks. Did Apple>Sys Pref>Notifications: None for iTunes, Safari, Mail but Banner still popping up. Thanks for any help.
I have tried unchecking the "Automatically check for updates" in the Software Update control panel. Of course, then you have to remember to check manually periodically for security updates etc. So far, the annoying banners seem to have stopped, but maybe just because I have not waited long enough for them to come back.

I have an Intel iMac running OSX 10.6.8. I would like to use Final Cut Pro 10.1. I know I need OSX 10.9 for this. Can I run both 10.6.8 and 10.9 on the iMac ? I do not want to convert completely to 10.9 because of my existing software. Thanks for any help
It would depend on how old your IMac is, how mush memory you have, it it can be upgraded by OWC, etc. I have a 2006 Macbook Pro and would NOT put Mavericks on it or espeacially FCP 10.1.1 on it because the most memory it can have is 4 GB. You need at least 8 GB to work with Final Cut Pro 10.1.1. IMHO.
I would try to find a copy of Final Cut Express perhaps.
