Is it possible to import 7D videos already in Aperture 3?

I have many video clips that were imported from a 7D in Aperture.  I attempted to File --> Import  --> Files and point to those files stored in a folder and Final Cut Pro X will not import them.  Anyone know how to import those videos?
Thanks...

Final Cut Pro X can import Canon 7D videos. Verified by a user in this discussion topic.
What settings was the 7D set to record with? 1080p?
Can we assume you've imported into Aperture as referenced files? Otherwise you wouldn't be able to see them inside the Aperture library.

  • How to import youtube video into premiere cs4

I installed adobe premiere cs4 and was really astonished by the fact that it's not possible to import a video downloaded from YouTube, but it is needed to convert it firstly. This application is weight about 3GB on my hard disk and now I must search for a plugin to import a video from YT.
It would be perfectly if i could download a video directly into premiere, and also upload finished file up to youtube.
The only result of my search is a paid plugin named moyea-importer - USD 70, but it seems  it works only with earlier versions of premiere, before cs4.
Is there any free plugin for this task. Or any similar solution.
If not - in which format should I download youtube video, in which format should I convert it (what is the best converter for that) to make it editable in premiere.
    Working on win xp sp3.
    Thanks.

    Also, CS4 has a different forum http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premierepro_previous?view=all
Maybe a MOD will come along and move this discussion to the correct forum
As Mark says, CS4 is old... and CS5 and later were complete rewrites of the source code, to be 64bit instead of 32bit, so internal operations are not the same

  • Import a video into iphone imovie for editting

    Hi everyone!
This is my first question and need a bit of help. I only have an iphone with imovie on it.
Is it possible to import a video into imovie to use and edit it on the iphone?
The video I want to import was taken by a camcorder and I assume I will need to convert it into an .MOV file but then how do I get it into imovie???
    Thank you in advance!

You need to convert those videos to iMovie for iOS compatible video format on your computer, then sync the converted video to your iPhone 4. Here's instructions for doing so on a Mac:

  • I am creating a video using the green screen option- I imported a picture for the background of the project and videotaped someone using a green screen. Is it possible to move the video of the person around so it is not blocking the picture behind it?

I am creating a video using the green screen option in iMovie.   I imported a picture for the background of the project and videotaped someone using a green screen. Is it possible to move the video of the person around so it is not blocking the picture behind it?

To enable this right you need Acrobat, not the free Reader.
However, starting from Reader X it is possible to add simple markups to any file, unless it has been specifically disallowed by the creator of the file.

No. iMovie cannot import files with chapter markers.

  • I have a sony hdr td 20ve 3d video camera. Is it possible to import into iMovie 11, edit and export in 3D? I have an iMac 2008 model running Lion 10.7.4

Is it possible to import 3d from the Sony 3D videocamera, model HDR TD 20VE into iMovie 11, edit and export the files to iDVD and produce a disc that plays on a 3d compatible DVD player?

Yes, you can purchase Lion as well as iPhoto and iMovie from the App Store. But before you can do that you must update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 by installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 update. Then you can sign into the App Store with your Apple ID and password, locate the items you want, purchase them, and download them to your computer.

  • Is it possible to export a video from GarageBand to iMovie, Soundtrack or FinalCut?

Wondering if it's possible when you make a video/movie and you've saved it in GarageBand, to export the video to iMovie, Soundtrack of FinalCut?
    thanks,

First of all, you don't save a video in GarageBand.
You can import a vidoe file into a GarageBand Project
You can add music, sf, or anything else to that video
At the end you use the  "Export Audio to Movie" command.
THe result is a quicktime movie file (you can choose the format in a dialog window). That video file can be imported into any video editing software, including iMovie. There is no need to export it to iTunes.
If you have the video already in iMovie. then you cold export only the audio in GarageBand and import that audio file back into iMovie. Just make sure that they stay in sync.
    Hope that helps

  • Is it possible to import pattern elements ?

    Hi all,

Thanks for the reply. Your projects sound very interesting. We are not Adobe here. Just users to users. With a few exceptions, we are all visitors here.
For transporting videos, I usually use a USB Flash Drive. If your aim is for just transport that should be fine. But, if you are thinking about
transferring your video to a memory stick for playback on a device, if you have not already, make sure that the device supports the video format, the memory stick, and that format on the memory stick.
If you have not already, please update 12 to the 12.1 Update using an opened project's Help Menu/Update. That remedies a text style Expert workspace only issue and some other undefined things. Also, there have been several reports relating to the loss of sound for the numbered audio tracks and soundtrack when a narration is created with the program's Narration Tool and added to the Timeline. There is a user discovered fix for that which we can discuss if you ever run into that situation. Hope not.
Best wishes as you move forward with your Premiere Elements projects.

  • I have been trying to import VHS video into iMovie via a Hollywood Dazzle bridge.  Did not have trouble until I upgraded to mavericks.  I have a mac book pro, 10.9.1, iMovie 10.0.2.  Says it is recording, but when I go to check, it says the file is empty.

I have been trying import VHS video into iMovie via a Hollywood Dazzle bridge.  I have been successful doing this in the past, but now it is not working.  I have a mac book pro, 10.9.1, (mavericks), iMovie 10.0.2.  Everything in iMovie looks like it is working.  It reads "recording" in the upper left hand corner of the pane while the video is playing.  When I stop the process to check on my clip it says that the file is empty.  The only thing that has changed since I did it successfully is that I upgraded to mavericks from whatever I had previously.  My system is about one year old.  Any suggestions?

    Hey, Clinton,
Thanks for your help!  I was able to go to iMovie 9.0.9 and import video.  I was still curious as to why it didn't work in version 10.0.2, so I contacted Apple tech support.  They were't sure at first as to why it wouldn't work, so they had me delete iMovie 10.0.2 and then re-install it just to see if something had gone wrong when it upgraded.  That didn't change anything.  In the end, they determined that 10.0.2 doesn't support the Hollywood Dazzle DV bridge.  But I have a workaround path from them that I will share so that it's possible to import to 9.0.9, then move it to 10.0.2.
         1.  Open iMovie 9 (finder/applications/iMovie 9.0.9
         2.  Import from Dazzle Bridge to iMovie 9, note which event you are importing the clips into
         3.  Close iMovie 9
         4.  Open iMovie 10 (probably in the dock)
         5.  File/Import Media...navigate to home(this was my name, on the left side of iMovie, under Favorites)/Movies/iMovie events.  Find the event folder that contains your Dazzle clips (tip-try sorting by date modified to look at recent events.)
         6.  Select the clips and import.  Click the blue "Import Selected" button on the bottom right.
You may get a message that some files cannot be imported.  Click continue import.  It's a little glitchy.  It imports your clip, and also makes a copy of it, too.  On the copy, the audio is normal, but the video is choppy.  In any case, you would delete the copy, anyway.
Hope this additional information helps somebody else.  Thanks again, Clinton for helping me!

  • Can't import iPad videos in Final Cut Pro X

Hello there, anyone knows if there are recent issues in importing iPad videos into Final Cut Pro X?
I follow the ordinary workflow, and it all seems ok but at the end of the importing process a "!" yellow triangle remains attached to the imported clip and this one can't be played.
Already tried to make a high quality conversionand/or a proxy, the conversion process seems to start but it doesn't go further than 0%.
Thanks in advcance for your help.
PS: the videos have been teaken with the "Video Pro" app an then exported to the iPad "film roll".
PPS: in the importing window the clips can be played normally.

Russ, I succeed in importing some files by transcoding them in a proxy one by one (that is not in a work queue). Some other files simply stops the rendering process and make it hang until the closing of FCPX. Thanks for your time.

  • Importing VHS video through digital camera

I am importing VHS video through my Sony camera (TRV22) to imovie.  For some reason it the screen will go blue for a few seconds then the picture will come back.  I was doing this on a older power pc mac and imovie would just stop recording.  On my new imac it doesn't stop recording but the screen goes blue.    Has this happened to anyone else and maybe know what is causing it?  Should I try a different way of video transfer with some other software?  Thanks for any help you can give me.

    Two possible causes:
    Faulty or badly connected cables
    You are not using Firewire

  • Can we import DV video on a Mac with firewire then edit on Unibody Macbook?

My partner was eagerly anticipating buying a new Macbook to replace her old iBook, however, we are very disappointed to find that the firewire port has been dropped as this means that she will not be able to connect up our DV camcorder (which is a long way off needing replacing). The portability of a notebook is preferred but the Macbook Pro is quite frankly overkill, and too expensive, for her computing needs and she is quite adamant that she will not be forced into buying one just to get firewire.
I still have my 1st gen Macbook and will be buying an iMac when they are next updated so I was wondering whether it is possible to import from a DV camcorder via firewire on one computer, i.e my Macbook or iMac, then transfer the video files to the hard drive on a new firewireless Macbook to be edited on that? Or onto an external USB hard drive? If the DV footage was stored on an external USB hard drive could this be accessed using iMovie on the new Macbook or would we still need to be using firewire?

    hey there 12 frets,
what you suggest should work in theory w/ the caveat that you load the video files into her MacBook's internal drive from the ext. USB HDD. w/ the newer AVCHD & Flash-based video cams all sporting USB including some Pro cams such as the Panasonic P2 cams, Apple may eventually give up FireWire all together, even on the Mac Pro. one just can't knows? i just read that the new USB 3.0 spec has been finalized.
    good luck.

  • How to import wmv video tracks in Premiere Pro CC on mac?

    Hi,
Is there a way to import wmv video files in premiere without converting them before?
I'm aware, that exporting is another topic, i'm only intrested in importing.
I only found the information, that AME is able to import WMVs after installing Windows Media Player for Mac (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4031104), but is this also possible in the same way for Premiere Pro?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

Were you ever able to find a solution for this? I am working on a project that has some .WMV files and trying to import them in Premiere Pro CC on a Mac. Thanks!
