Is it possible to import AI CS5 settings into AI CC 17?

I would like to use Illustrator CC 17's import feature to bring in my CS5 settings but it doesn't seem to work. Does anyone know if it's possible?

Variable width profiles might be possible. I would try and compare the files - they are only text files.

I was eager to use Kynote on my new iPad Air to make some presentations. But I use a lot of vector graphics in pdf and eps format for my figures. I found out that it is not possible to import such file format into Keynote for iOS. I understand that .eps might be quite outdated already and will never be supported but pdf?!
It would be best if I could insert my figures directly from Dropbox but since this doesn't seem possible I would be happy to download my pdf figures to iBook for example and import them from there. This doesn't seem to be possible either. Keynote allows me only to browse my photos and it is not possible to put pdf files in Photos.
Overall - big disappointment from Keynote for iOS to me. It is unusable for my needs and preferences.

You can import pdf's in keynote!
Make a pdf with Indesign or something like that. Make sure your pdf has the same resolution as your Ipad: For example, Ipad Air: 2048 x 1536 pixels. (In Indesign, you'll have to create a doc with intent Web (instead of print).
Then, use a file manager app, like File Manager Pro (https://itunes.apple.com/NL/app/id558270538?mt=8&affId=2083450) to copy the pdf's to your Ipad by using WIFI.
In the app File Manager Pro, just select your pdf and copy it.
Now start Keynote, create a new presentation and create a blank sheet.
Now you can paste, and your pdf will appear, transparant and exactly the same size as your presentation.

I don't think you can prevent email body text from being copied and edited.
You'd probably need to created a protected Word or PDF document, and send it as an attachment.
This is still some sort of guessing because it's still not clear to me what exactly your scenario is.
Whatever text you send in an email, regardless of whether in the body or as an attachment, the recipient will always be able to use that and distribute it further, e.g. by making a screenshot. And images can be 'photoshoped' as well.
If you want the recipient to be able to detect whether a message or an attachment has been altered on transit, you'd need to sign it.

I don't seem to be able to see the archive selection within Safari.
I found the import/export bookmarks under ,file> withing Safari but that just opens a browser box and I have no idea where to browse to to be able to find the firefox bookmarks.
Can you give me a step by step procedure?

i have a schema called "xyz". in that i have a,b,c tables. i took a,b,c tables backup using normal export. and also i have e,f,g tables in same schema ("xyz"). i want to import a,b,c data into e,f,g tables. can anyone please let me know what is the import command. dont give me the data pump options. i have some problems to take the data pump expors of those 3 tables.

Importing two itunes settings into one

Hello
Some advice please!
I have two Mac's iMac with Music and a PowerMac with my movie/Tv shows on.
I would like to import my Music file over to the PowerMac so Music and Movies/Tv shows are all on one computer.
The problem i have is iv transfered all music over but i cant seem to be able to transfer my settings and playlists so all is put into order.
Does anyone now of a way.

I want to add a new hierarchy to an existing version . Is it possible to do via import process?

The import process by definition always creates its own version. The process to incorporate a new hierarchy int an existing version is as follows:
1. Create the IMPORT and run the import into a new version that you specify.
2. Validate that the hierarchy in the new version is as you want it.
3. Create a BLENDER and run the blend using the new version as the source and the version you want as the target. Make sure you blend the properties that you created during the import process as well.
4. Validate that the BLEND was successful into the working version you wanted it to go and that the properties and structure are as you want them.
5. Delete the new version you created in steps 1&2 above.
Following these steps will incorporate the new hierarchy into whatever existing working version you want.

Is it possible to import a photoshop timeline into Flash CC?

I'll explain what it is I am making,
I have created a globe in photoshop which rotates 360 degrees, I'm looking to import this into flash to make the globe interactive with markers. I need to earth to be continuously spinning though when a location is clicked, the earth spins to that point, a bit like google earth. I can see there is no way to create 3D objects in flash so I cannot make a professional looking globe without it looking flat and boring unless I can make it on photoshop and somehow import it to flash while still maintaining the 3D attributes of the sphere and still have the earth rotate.
I'm not overly experience at flash but any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.

if you can save as a sequence of bitmaps, you can import that sequence into flash along a timeline.

Is it possible to import playlists (m3u format) into iTunes?

I have many playlists formated with Winamp in the order I want to play them.
Can they be imported into iTunes - I'm using an itouch and cannot find anyway to do this.

I don't think there is any way to import M3U format into iTunes. I had an inporting problem with Windows Media Player because some of the songs were in a M3U format. I eventually saved those songs as a WMA and they imported just fine. Also, your probably going to have to recreate your playlists in iTunes when you do get your Winamp songs. I don't think iTunes is going to keep your Winamp playlists together.

There are a number of utilities that can extract and convert the videos for use in editing applications. A couple of utilities that people have reported success with are DVDxDV, Cinematize, and MPEG Streamclip (MPEG Streamclip is freeware but requires that you have Apple's QuickTime MPEG2 Playback Component), and there are no doubt others.

Is it possible to import an avi file into iTunes?

I am trying to import in a TV show that i have downloaded as an avi file into iTunes. However when i try to import it nothing happens, if i try and change the file format into a mp4 it wont recognize it. Does anyone have any ideas?
I can not find it in any other file format anywhere online.

Export the OMF from an audio app like ProTools or Logic as a stereo pair AIFF, then use that with your video. Chop it up if you need to checkerboard.
Of course this will only work if the audio is very simple - overlapping audio will mess you up. If you can figure out the audio app part, you can split up your OMF into separate tracks.
But then if you can't get it into an audio app, you're a bit hosed.

Possible to import protected MP3 format into iTunes?

I have a number of songs purchased using Windows Media Player. iTunes is telling me that they cannot be automatically imported as they are in "protected MP3 format".
Any way around this?

The general solution to this sort of problem is to burn an Audio CD of the protected tracks with the Media Player that can use them. For WMP, have a look at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/howto/burnhowto.aspx
You should then be able to import that CD with iTunes.

Is it possible to import a wav file into flash that is 48MB?

If I can only crunch the file down by 90% then I'm still at a
huge amount of MB. What is a "reasonable" amount of MB's that can
be uploaded so it loads quickly enough for dial up folks?
I have a client with a 10 minute video. He has it saved in
MPG and WAV. In wav he just told me it's at 48MB.
Should I even bother with a file size this large?

Hi,
If you target audience will use a dial up connection, then
you should consider the SWF file size to be small, I do not know a
standard, but I guess not more than 200-300 k. And use a preloaded
in the first of it.
The large WAV files helps increasing the file size, but it is
not the only reason. You have to tell your client to consider the
size in the files he or she sends. And you can optimize your file
and idea storyboard to keep the size small.

Is it possible to import a .idea file into Illustrator CS3?

I have sketches and files on Adobe Idea on the iPad. How to I bring them into Illustrator and preserve the layers, etc? .png, .pdf and .jpg don't seem to do this. I'm sorry if this is a "no duh" question, but I am just starting out with these programs and would appreciate the help. The question didn't turn up in a forum search.

Thank you for taking up six post spaces on this forum question. Obviously I haven't read any of the app information, or subscribed to the adobe cloud, or searched the forums, despite having used those to discover this problem. Perhaps I should have underlined the program name that I mentioned in my original post, and the file formats I listed, which are only available if downloaded from the cloud, so that you could have more easily understood my question. I should have included Google link for the application so you wouldn't have to waste time looking it up for yourself. Maybe I should have mentioned that I called support and they suggested that I post in the forums to see if anyone else had gotten around the problem.
Also, sadly, the link doesn't answer my question. You seem to think that I am simply trying to export files. I have demonstrated in my original question and my reply to a previous answer, that I have already exported in every file available for use with the app and the cloud. I was asking, since I need to clarify, why .idea files would not open in Illustrator CS3, and why, when other file formats were tried, did they not preserve the layers. Also, since they wouldn't, was there another way to export besides the -listed- export file formats that would allow layers. And, as before when I tried a search in the Adobe Ideas forum, there was no answer to how to open an idea file in CS3, or preserve the layers in CS3 in any of the other file formats offered.
