Is it possible to import CDs in the background without changing focus
Hello,
I'm trying to import my CD collection into iTunes (9.0.3).
I've setup preferences so that when I insert a CD it will automatically import and eject.
At the same time I'm trying to watch an hour long video in itunes U.
Is there any way to stop iTunes from stopping the video and switching to the imported CD everytime I insert a CD?

Somebody PLEASE help me.... I keep getting the "itunes has stopped working" error when I import cd's and that it's checking windows for help. That's it! It doesn't tell me how to fix it. Apple stores or the phone support has been ZERO help. I just need to reinstall all these cds that were lost when I plugged in my new ipod to my new computer!!!

Being new to the iphone I am having trouble listening to imported cds. The tracks keep sticking a bit like buffering. Is this a common problem and can it be solved just by addressing a general buffering problem which I already have on youtube but have not rectified as yet.
Thanks Kaz TIf <alanfromnewtownards> fix fails to address the issue - turn off iMessage and Facetime in Settings. Settings\iMessage, and Settings\facetime.
Sync by cable to iTunes.
Leave cable connected, open Settings\iCloud and ensure at least Mail is on and dsplays your Apple iD email - then turn iMessage and Facetime back on. Ensure that in the ISettings...\iMessage...\Facetime page that the Receive at field and Receive video calls at email address is the same address as your Apple I.D.
Resync when finished.
If still having problems with Facetime then check that the required port is open - allowing traffic in your router.

In some cases you may need to turn on Port forwarding and open the port manually to allow traffic through. See your router documentation for details.
If having problems verifying, open iTunes store App on your pad. at bottom of page, click on your ID and sign in. Go to your Account details (re-veryfying and answering security questions may be required to do this) - check all details are correct.
Finally right click your device icon in iTunes and select Reset warnings. resync when finished.

Possible to run something in the background?
This is my situation: I have a Student class and a Clazz class. A student can belong to only 1 clazz and a clazz can have many students. These 2 classes are mapped to 2 database tables. In the following code, I remove all the JPA annotations.

}So to add a new student to an existing class, I do something like:
Student student = new Student();
Clazz clazz = entityManager.find(Clazz.class, clazzId);
student.setClazz(clazz);
entityManager.persist(student);Because of the line clazz.getStudents().add(this); in the Student.setClazz method, the application has to go to the DB and load all the existing students for that clazz (which takes a long time).
The Student and Clazz codes are very difficult for me to change (somebody wrote them and they don't wanna change). So I have to think of some way to load the clazz and all its student when I have the clazzId information. The duration from when I have the clazzId info until the student is saved to the db is about 1min.
This is what I did:
- I created a stateful session bean with an EXTENDED entity manager which has a method to return a clazz when we feed it a clazzId. So the returned clazz is persisted.
- I created a stateless session bean which has a timer. When I have the clazzId, I start the timer, give the timer a ClazzHolder instance.

}- The timer gets the clazzId from the ClazzHolder instance, feeds that clazzId to the stateful bean, receives a persisted Clazz instance back, saves that Clazz instance in the ClazzHolder instance and turns the flag "done" to true.
It seems to me that the ClazzHolder instance the stateless session bean has is not the ClazzHolder instance that I pass to it (but the content is the same). I think it's because the ClazzHolder instance I pass to the session bean is serialized first, and then de-serialized to build an object and give to a method in the session bean.
Summary: my idea of using timer to load something before hand doesn't work.

If you write these commands in a class method, you will get a syntax error ( because it's forbidden per definition of ABAP objects). So, am I right assuming that you put the coding just at the beginning of the ABAP report ? And after START-OF-SELECTION-event you start the processing... ?
Furthermore, I don't really understand why you create an separate class for ALV. I found your "SAP abap help"-blog, where you explained the concept of MVC ((By the way, well done!), but you didn't mention an "ALV class" there..
Mh.. another question - have you ever combined MVC with object services?
At the moment I'm working on a software project where I use object services. I created 2 persistent classes via SE24 and one local class in my ABAP Report.
I don't really see possibility to implement MVC in this project without change very much of coding and class structure...
In my opinion the M (data&business logic) are my existing global classes and my local class is kind of Controller class?!

I have an IPad with a Restriction code that we cannot remember. Is it possible to delete and restore the IPad without the code. If not how do I figure out the code or how to remove it?
The only option is to wipe the device clean and restore it to factory settings. Hope you have a backup.
Follow the instructions in iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 to restore the device to factory settings.
Once you have setup the device as a new one, you can then sync it back with your iTunes account and all your music, apps, contacts and any other content sync'ed with iTunes will be loaded on the device. Any content that is stored only on the device and not sync'ed with iTunes, like app logins or data, will be lost during this process. Be forewarned that this is a long process and can take a couple of hours or more to complete. This can be painful, but it is necessarily so to prevent users from working around the security settings. After the restore is complete, you can setup a new Restrictions passcode. Make a note of the passcode to avoid this situation in future.

Sure! If the two Macs have Thunderbolt ports, attach a Thunderbolt cable between them. If they have FireWire, or if one has FireWire and one Thunderbolt, connect a FireWire cable (with a TB adaptor if necessary). Reboot the old Mac holding down the T key. Make sure it's connected to power. You'll now see its system drive appear on the desktop of the other Mac and you can use Migration Assistant to automatically transfer files, or drag them over manually.

* import back into iM....

You'd need to have a serial number of the computer, and a method of payment
when seeking some replacement system media from Applecare or Apple sales
and these discs are not available in a retail store. The original Retail discs are
labeled differently and shipped in a retail box with a big X on the front. Other
sources for retail 10.4 Tiger or 10.5 Leopard may be online via amazon sellers
or computer resellers who handle repaired Macs. Avoid mystery grey label ones
that were intended to be sold and kept with their original computer kits.

Run Automator in the background without status bar icon

I hope this is the right place and thank you in advance for the help.
I am trying to run an Automator App in the background without running in the status bar as it takes the focus from the current application that I am working in. Is there a way to do this? Some Google Fu stats that I can make some changes to the info.plist of the package contents of the application by changing the LSUIElement. However when I follow those instructions, I am still unable to run the application in the background completely.
For what it is worth, I am running a brand new Mac Mini with Yosemite. Any help is greatly appreciated. Please let me know if I need to provide any more detail.

A file with a .php extension would be associated with whatever application created it (or a default application that can handle HTML files). A Unix Executable File isn't seen as an "application" by the system, so you will need to call it directly with your parameters. -

If you right-click in the top of title bar of any Finder window there is an option to un-check 'use small icon size', though toggling between the two makes little difference on my screen.
Another trick is you can zoom the whole screen by holding down the 'control' key and using a two-finger swipe up on the trackpad to enlarge, down to go back to normal. -

Wjosten thanks for enlightining me, I upgraded iOS from 4.3.2 to 5.0.1 during which I got back all the access which also removed the lock on the Settings. I took backup of all the apps installed and podcasts before upgrading. I lost my existing messages but was able to get back the Contacts which is sufficient. I restored the apps which got deleted and now Im able use the iPhone with more latest features.

I am not computer savvy when it comes to the inner workings and changing things like i need to with this problem so help is greatly appreciated!!!Short of rolling back your iTunes to 10.0.1.22 and your Apple Application Support to 1.3.2 (CoreAudioToolbox.dll is kept in the Apple Application Support program files), there's a few possible workarounds.
(1) Change your importing prefs to use a different encoding (won't help with the device syncing variation though), and/or disable the convert to 128 kbps AAC when syncing option.
(2) Replace your CoreAudioToolbox.dll version 7.9.4.0 with a 7.9.3.0 as per:
