Yes but you might need a third party application like Handbrake. see: http://handbrake.fr/

  • Is it possible to import fast a word.doc into Indesign

    Hallo,
I am producing department documents. Now I have some problems because I created them in word from microsoft.
Is it possible to import the word documents into the indesign format in an easy way?
It should be time safing and effective.
I would be glad for some answers!
    best wishes

The way you move word dodument s into InDesign is by using File > Place..., selecting the word file in the dialog, chooing import options if you like, and clicking the cursor in the InDesign document. How you've set upt he ID file will have a lot to so with wher you should click and whether or not you should be also pressing the Shift key to autoflow.
It's quite clear you have no idea how InDesign works, so before you get into trouble you should look around for some books or tutorials, and try reading the help files. One of the best books out there for new users is Sandee Cohen's Visual QuickStart Guide to InDesign.

  • Is there a way to import movies from my DVDs into iTunes?

I have an ipod Video and I would like to import some of my favorite movies I own on DVD into my ipod to take with me on the road... Is there a way to do this? Please help...
    Dell Dimension 4550   Windows XP

Sorry, but if you're referring to a commercial DVD, those are copy-protected. Breaking the copy protection is illegal in the US, so discussing ways of doing it are not allowed here (since the US courts have been holding in some cases that even discussing in print such cracking may be illegal).

  • Importing movie dvds into my iphone through itunes

i have many movie dvds i would like to import into my iphone through itunes, can someone help me out with how to do this?

its not illegal to make a backup of your dvd
if that were the case than you would not be able to buy software which specifically does this.
there are dozens of app that help you create an iphone or idevice friendly version of your movie.
    dvdxxx is a good one
xilxxx dvd to iphone is another good.
plus you can download app that decrypt the movie to your hdd than ya can use handbrake
making compatible formats for your own playback on your devices is 100% legal.
the problem is, apple, wants to you to buy that movie again via their itunes movie store.
its rubbish if you think about it,. they offer itunes match, which will make your music u bought at a store, match it, put it online and if it was ripped at low bitrate upgrade it
but they dont offer this for movies
so in reality its a hypocrisy. they offer for music but not for movies.
its not against the law to rip your music, which is same as ripping movie to hdd.
so if ripping music to hdd and then using itunes match to make it available online, would that not be illegal too? since you had to rip the music from a cdrom to put it on your hdd?

  • Error importing 1st chapter from DVD into PE8

I am using Premiere Elements 8 on a Dell Studio XPS 8100 with Intel Core i7 CPU @ 2.93 Ghz, 6 GB RAM, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
I converted a number of family tapes onto DVD.  All the chapters on each of those DVDs work fine on different DVD players and PCs.
Each time that I'm importing (with Get Media) one of those DVDs into a project in PE 8, all of the chapters are successfully imported, except for the 1st chapter?!  PE 8 returns the error on the first VOB-file named VTS_01_1 : "This file type is not supported, or the required codec is not installed".
What should I do to import those first chapters?
    N.B.
Note that when I convert that VTS_01_1 into another video type, e.g. MOV, I continue getting the same error message.
I also noticed in Windows Explorer that each of those VTS_01_1 have no Details in their file Properties.   The other VOBs have Detail values in their file Properties.

    Welcome to the forum.
This ARTICLE will give you some background on VOB "containers," and what they can contain, especially the first VOB. I think that in it, you will find the reason that the first VOB's are not Importing properly. As Steve mentions, ripping the MPEG-2 content (often/usually spanning several VOB's) is the best course of action.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Is it possible to import a LR5 generated slideshow into muse cc and link to it to show inside muse cc?

What I want to do is import a number of slideshows that are currently in my DW generated site.  They are all generated from the LR5 Web module with the associated files.  Is there a way of importing those files into MUSE CC so they can be linked to and shown inside MUSE CC?

You can try to add the gallery to your site directly , this video explains the steps involved :

  • Is it possible to import a Lightroom 3 Catalog into an older version of Lightroom?

I shoot for a couple other photographers and provide them the files.  My workflow has been to import the RAW files into Lightroom 3, make selections and basic adjustments, then export my selections/adjustments as a catalog so that they can make any additional adjustments they want (cropping, color/contrast, renaming, etc) while still working with the RAW files.  One of my clients is working with an older version of Lightroom (LR2) and cannot import the catalog because of a version error.  Is there something I can do when exporting to make my catalog readable by the older version?  Thanks!

LR3 Catalogs cannot be read by LR2.
For the person who has LR2, you would have to provide him/her with exported TIFFs.

  • Possible to import Photoshop Elements 8 Catalog into Lightroom?

Is it possibel to import a catalog from Photoshop Elements 8 into the latest version of Lightroom?  I've kind of outgrown some of Element's functionality and I'd like to take Lightroom for a spin.  However, it would be useless if it won't import my complex set of albums, tags, etc.

Lightroom 2 cannot convert PSE8 catalogs. (Maybe Lightroom 3 will do so, but no one really knows...)
You can do a partial import. Using psedbtool, write your metadata to the photo files, then import the individual photos into Lightroom 2. You will lose collection membership, stacks, version sets, creations and a few other things.

  • Importing digital copies of films into iMovie

I am using an external service to convert my old 8mm films to video. The transfer quality is superb but they are only set up for Windows. If they give me avi versions on dvd will they be only playable with Windows (or WMP for Mac?) or is there some way I can import them into iMovie for editing? Would an alternative route be to convert a standard dvd back into Quicktime and then import that into iMovie?

    Hi Peter,
.avi is just a container, not a video compressor... that service should tell you what compressor/codec they use...depening on that, a) iM could be able to import directly, b) QT pro is able to convert into dv, iM's native format c) you need Streamclip for converting mp1/2/4, divx, avi, vob...
for converting DVD conetnt, you need addtionally for 20$ Apple mpeg2 plugin
or you give these tools a try:
    * DVDxDV, it has a 30d trial period (testdrive sets a watermark)... and cost 25$
    * Cinematize >60$
    * Mpeg2Works >25$ + Apple plug-in
    http://danslagle.com/mac/iMovie/tips_tricks/6010.shtml
    http://danslagle.com/mac/iMovie/tips_tricks/6018.shtml
DVD is normally end-of-the-road, means, loss of pic quality after conversion back to dv... ask te service for conversion to miniDV tape, or storage as "dv" on a "PCformatted data dvd" (don't worry, your Mac is able to read that...), but that fits only 20min of video per disk...

  • Old imac hard drive crashed... how to put ipod tunes into new imac's itunes

I'm sure this is something that's been revisited a number of times already... My "old" imac (2 years old -- yes I'm ****** but let's not go there) hard drive ceased living. I literally lost everything (had all data backed up, whew!).
Anyway, how can I put my itunes library, which is on my ipod, onto my new itunes on my new imac?
Thanks in advance for your help, Craig

You can't do this using regular Apple software (it's designed to work in one direction only). However if you Google "transfer from ipod to itunes" several helpful links come up with utilities you can download to do this.
But if you have protected music on your iPod, do remember to "authorise"" your new HD first.

I have super 8mm film already transferred onto DVD...  It plays on my Mac, but I cannot for the life of me import it into usable clips!!  Please help, frustrated and against a deadline, thought this would be easy...  thx in advance.....

    Download MpegStreamclip, it's free.

Drop the DVD or TS folder on it and export to another format.
Also, this is the iOS version of iMovie (for iPhones and iPads) so you might want to look here from now on:
