Is it possible to insert white space that will track like other characters?

I'm working with Indesign CS3, and have a problem with white space, inserted as a special character - in this case, a sixth space, used for the space between initials of a cited author: A. B. White, or whatever. Between the point after A and the B, I've inserted sixth-spaces in each instance. But when the automatic tracking sets the text, those white spaces don't seem to be adjusted in the same way as the rest. So when a line is unusually tight, the space in question looks too large, and vice versa.
Is it possible - either in CS3 or, as a matter of interest, in CS4 or 5 - to insert white space that will track automatically as lines are adjusted?

Well, here's a classic:
1) Set some type in French. Use a thin space or a 1/6 space before punctuation. (That's what you are supposed to do in French - there's always a space before many kinds of punctuation.)
2) Hand off the file to someone else.
3) "Someone else" tracks the paragraph to -40 (without understanding that the paragraph is now barely legible).
If it's a fixed thin space, there is still a space in front of the punctuation. Due to the tracking abuse, it's now roughly the same size as a "normal" space-bar space. If it's not a fixed-width space, it has now disappeared. Tracking of -40 is ugly, but no space in front of punctuation in French is out-and-out wrong.

Sorry, it's very unclear what you want.
Whenever you have a question, please post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all the tables involved, and the results you want from that data.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
Always say what version of Oracle you're using (e.g. 11.2.0.2.0).

Have you tried the the UNPIVOT EXCLUDE NULLS option? See the SQL Language manual for details.
It that doesn't do what you want, then you may need to UNPIVOT in a sub-query, generating more rows than you want, and use a WHERE clause in the main query to remove the unwanted rows.

A form field to insert white space

Hi all,
I need to insert some white space (the number of these white space is depending to some condition) in a form field.
I show in my report a value and then I must complete this value with some white space to have finally a string with a fixed number of characters.
I have a form field with a value (<?VALUE?>) and then I would insert a new form field to show only some white space. I can not add these white space directly on the field form containing the value.

Yes I realize that this would be a drain of the 3G battery... but it would be a great thing for the few days a year we do something like walk all around NYC and later would like a record of where we had been, how far we had walked etc. This would not be an everyday thing.

I just made a quicktime movie (not conversion) of my HDV 1080i60 video project, but it will not play on other computers...
My question:
What is the best workflow for outputting a HQ HDV movie, from FCP6, that will play on other computers/platforms?

I also discovered that copying the AppleHDVCodec.component (from my HD >> Library >> Quicktime folder) to the other Mac, will allow me to play the video too... But optimally, I would like to not worry about codecs.

I took over updating some things on my site from my web designer. The main images on each page used to be flush with the navigation bar on each page. Now there is a white space in between each one. Can you tell me how to remove the white space?

I need to get rid of a 20 pixel area of white space that appears on Internet Explorer (see pic)

Hi I get a 20 px high zone of white space below my animation stage on internet explorer. (see the image below). Using Dreamweaver I have inserted the .oam inside a conataing div which is set to the exact size of the stage but this area still appears below the animation. If you click over it then it disappears. Anyone know how to eliminate this issue please??

Is it possible to have a button that will insert a table row rather than add it to the end?

I have an add row button that works correctly using addinstance, but I would like to have the add row button at the end of each row so a user could insert a row into the middle of existing/fiilled out rows. Is this possible? I would like to be able to do this using Formcalc as that is what all of my scripting in the form currently is.

Yes, it is possible, but in effect what the script does is add a new row at the end of the table AND then move the row up to the approrpiate position.

Possible to enlarge white space by changing page size?

Greetings. I'm using Acrobat 10 pro now, but in 9 it was possible to enlarge the white space around the text by changing the page size as part of the crop command. This was very handy for creating an area large enough for text box comments. I can't find this capability in 10. Am I, hopefully, mistaken?

Select: Tools > Pages > Crop
and then double-click on the page. You'll then get the Crop dialog and you can select a larger page size in the CHange Page Size area.

Insert a button that will paste a value from one cell to another

I'm hoping to be able to insert a button on a form that, when clicked, will copy the values of certain cells and paste those values into other cells on the same form.
I'm looking to insert another botton that, when clicked, will take the value in one particular cell and add 1 to the value.
Is it possible to have one button perform both actions?

I dropped my iPhone 3G and now there is a white screen that will not go away.. what can I do to fix this?

I have tried holding the home button with the up volume and the power button for a while and that didn't work. I also tried just the home button and the power button. I also tried taking it apart to see if something was loose but nothing was. PLEASE HELP I don't want to get rid of my iphone!

If you don't have Applecare you can usually get a refurbished unit from an Apple Retail Store cut price - though they may not have any 3 models in stock and you may be 'forced' to upgrade to a 3GS.
