Btw, should have been clearer as one couldn't imagine I meant that 5.5 (i.e. ancient one). The adobe website also has this info: Windows 8.1 compatibility for Adobe Photoshop version 5 which just says version 5.5 under compatibility. So it does seem possible indeed to run this but perhaps for someone more techie. Had a look at the thread re: 6.0 and tried to run it as admin. Tried copying the contents on the desktop and change the compatibility under properties (even ran compatibility trouble shooter under properties) - but in vain. Must be doing something wrong. Prolly easier to return the CD (:/)
If anyone could drop an idea in relation to how/where to buy a genuine and legal copy of a CS5/CS6 I woudl greatly appreciate. I bought the 5.5 off eBay and probably will search for the right version this time on there again. Hyper-V is only available on Windows Server, Windows 8 and above or as a standalone Hyper-V server. However the client version on windows 8 and above will not allow clustering and so
on and is great for development or training environments but not production.
If you are just looking to manage remote Hyper-V hosts on a windows 7 client you can download the RSAT tools and install Hyper-V manager and Failover Cluster Manager which will allow you to manage
your remote hosts or clusters.

A Cloud subscription provides for installing working installations on two machines. You can have mixed operating systems (both Windows and Apple's OX).

Yes, you can install on an external drive and boot the Mac. I do it all the time.
I'm not 100% sure whether the same drive can boot PPC and Intel Macs -- I don't think so because PPC macs require Mac formatting and Intel Macs require GPT formatting to boot.
Intel Macs can boot off both USB and Firewire external drives. PPC Macs can only boot off Firewire external drives. In any case, Firewire is better as it's quite a bit faster.

Hi guys!
You can actually install Nokia PC Suite on win server 2003. You just have to install packages individually. What I did is the following and it works like a charm:
Download PC Suite
Unzip the file using 7zip or anything else
Go to the folder Packages
Install CCD using the MSI located in subfolder CCD/Setup
Install PCCS the same way
Install VC80 (x86 for 32bits or x64 for 64bits version depending on your hardware architecture)
Finally, install Nokia PC Suite and restart your computer.

By the way, I agree with you. Nokia is making really bad decisions in not supporting server OS. Most of the programmers who needs to work with SQL Server and IIS are using Win Server 2003 or 2008. Most of all, Nokia is really not Linux friendly. I'm really disappointed by Nokia and that's not that way they will compete with Apple...

How did you install Windows 7? Via Boot Camp, using a Windows 7 system builder disk, or with Parallels or VMWare's Fusion?
If you installed using Boot Camp, it sounds as if you goofed and installed Windows onto the Mac partition instead of the Windows partition. What happens when you hold down the Option key when you restart the Mac? Do you see a Mac partition and a Windows partition?
I would suggest seeing if you can use the Recovery mode on your new iMac to reinstall your iMac's operating system if you installed Windows over it by mistake. Please see this Apple Support document on how to accomplish this:

If you installed Windows using Parallels or Fusion, I can't help you, as I've zero experience with either.

Install ARD 1.2 Admin on Tiger

I have the ARD 1.0 Install CD which I have used to install ARD 1.0 on to my Tiger-enable Mac. However when I launch ARD I get the message "The Remote Desktop software doesn't appear to be installed correctly. Please verify it is installed and restart this computer." I installed it as an administrator user. I cannot find an updater for ARD Admin 1.0->1.2. Can anyone tell where I can find one should there be one?

I managed to obtain from a colleague the update for Remote Desktop Admin 1.0 to Remote Desktop Admin 1.2 - it is on the Apple site 'somewhere'. Installed it and it works fine. I use it to control my 50(!) OS 9.2.2 clients with ARD Client 1.2.4 installed on them.

My employer just gave me a new MBP 13" with Windows 7 on it. It has bootcamp running, but no option to boot in Mac OS. IT dept. said they deleted Mac OSX Lion due to security concerns (?). In any case, as I travel quite a bit and have and ipad and iphone, I would like to use Mac OSX for personal use and Windows 7 for work.
Is it possible to make a partition in Windows 7 and then place Mac OSX Lion on the partition so that I do not need to reinstall Windows? I know it would be possible to wipe the HDD and then add Mac OS, then bootcamp, then Windows 7, but adding again would get my IT dept involved which would put me back to square one.

Ok let me ask you IF the IT department of your workplace does NOT want OS X installed on "THEIR" (The Companies) computers because of what they think is some type of security issue why are you trying to go against their wishes and install OS X on a computer that is NOT owned by you.
That could cost you your job.
If you continue down this path you will screw up the Windows install and have to take the system back to the IT department to get it fixed. What do you think they will say at that point?
Do as you like but you would be better off just buying your own Mac computer if you are set on using OS X as your personal operating system.

You mean to say Oracle 10g 64bit will not work in Windows 2008..?No, i meaned the post you linked was written in year 2008, in that year it's was a unsupported platform for that oracle version. Actually its supported and you can install it.
