Is it possible to install drivers without service pack

Hi all, I just got my creative zen 8gb player but I am having a problems syncing to the computer. My problem is that I can not install service pack or 2 because my windows somehow does not allow it. So my question is, is there any way I can install some sort of program that would detect the device and be able to transfer over music? Ive tried it on my sisters computer with sp2 and it worked perfectly but I need it to work with my computer which does not have sp2 and will not be able to. -Thanks in advance

Even if your friends product is legit it's in use & the license is only good for one computer. That's why you can't update it. Microsoft did not become the giant it is without safeguards built in the software. Yes you have an O.S. but you can't update it. Makes your system very vulnerable to attacks from viruses & malware because of it. If he is no longer using it then you may be able to get Microsoft to help you get it updated. As I'm sure you know suppose the copy is legit & you had to change the motherboard & other major components like the processor. You could have a problem with windows not validating the copy as legit. So call them or buy one.

  • Windows 2008 R2 Server without Service Pack 1 was flag "Not Required" during the SCCM patching/deploying SP1 for 2008

    Dear Brothers,
I come to a scenario were one of our Windows 2008 R2 Server without Service Pack 1, was Flag under SCCM 2007 Reports Update Status for Service Pack 1 deployment to be "Not
    Required" which definitely inaccurate.
What I want to know what are the conditions for the Software Update to send a status to SCCM Server that the Service Pack is “Not
Required” instead of the other way around?
Is there anyone that can guide me to any KB Article regarding this behavior?
    Regards,

Yes, I know this is an old post, I’m trying to clean them up. Did you figure this out, if so how?
I have seen this before and what I have done is manually applied the SP1 to the server. Only then did the error show up as why SP1 didn’t apply. After fixing the error, CM was apply to apply SP1 and other SU to the server.

  • Installing Windows 7 Service Pack 1

    Hello
I am unable to install Service pack 1 for Windows 7 home premium (OEM edition) and a couple of other updates, in the past the macbook has downloaded and installed windows updates fine, In this instance it downloads but I get a error message error 800B0100. I have tried everything down the windows path but have got nowhere, a search on the web suggests that while some people install this update on a Bootcamp partition others cannot.
    Can anyone help.
    Thanks
    Stephen

You have OS 10.7 but not Bootcamp 4?
Friend of mine on OEM non Mac has similar long standing SP1 problem; as a possible/last solution,
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprogeneral/thread/64611492- 58b5-49d7-845e-59fb53c1c48f/
I see from search for W 7 SP1 error 800B0100 in Windows forums:
rename the \Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder to \Windows\SoftwareDistribution.old.
I learned (by doing it) that you can rename outside of safe mode in same login session if you disable Windows Update completely via control panel. Then you could turn W. Update back on & try again.
You will see more on this from Microsoft itself by search for: rename \Windows\SoftwareDistribution

  • Cannot install windows 7 service pack 1 on my HPE-400z desktop

I have an HP  hpe-400z desktop pc.  It is running windows 7 home premium operating system.   Ever since Windows 7 SP1 came out, my pc has been trying to install it.  Every time it tries to install, during the boot process the install fails and the system reverts back to original settings.  I get the error message E_FAIL  (0x80004005).  I have tried letting the automatic updater install this sp1 and I have also downloaded it, running the update, and then the same thing happens.  I have tried it without my security software running and get the same result.   This has been going on for so long now that I do not even bother to watch my machine boot up,- I know it is going to boot twice due to the failure of installing sp1.  Please help!

I would suggest you download the Win 7 Readiness Tool (see list of OS versions) located here
The System Update Readiness Tool can help fix problems that might prevent Windows updates and service packs from installing. For example, an update might not install if a damaged system file prevents the update from recognizing the version of Windows that's running on your computer.
If your computer is having problems installing an update or a service pack, download and install the tool, which runs automatically. Then, try installing the update or service pack again.

  • Slipstreaming: Creating a WindowsXP Install CD with Service Pack 2

    Hi,
Could someone who has done this using a Mac, and knows how, please give a step by step to making this CD? All the instructions online show how to do it from a PC running Windows. I have no clue how to do it on a Mac. Could someone please explain? I have a legitimate copy of XP Home, and have downloaded WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe. Now What?
    Thanks!

You can use the command line mkisofs to create a disc image after the slipstreaming and then burn with Disc Utility. The only process that really requires a Windows machine is the "applying SP2 patch to the data from the XP install disc" part of the operation since it actually runs a Windows executable (the service pack executable) on the XP install disc (instead of what you normally do which is install SP2 on your live installed version of XP)
I used VirtualPC for that ONE step, and did everything else in OS X.
As for those that did SP1 installs, I installed from an original Volume license Windows XP Professional CD (not SP 2) and managed to boot Windows and install some drivers, but got lots of hangs and had to force reboot a couple times. You cannot install SP2 afterwards, hence the SP2 requirement for Boot Camp.

    Hi Expert,
I am installing SAP on SQL SERVER 2008 R2. The database software installation is done, but as per
installation guide it is recommending to install "Service Pack and Cumulative Update" as SAP Notes 62988
Please suggest me if i donot install service pack then will it impact our installation?
    Please relply ASAP.

Its always recommanded to have your database at patch level and cummulative update supported by SAP.
If you don't perform now then you have to take again downtime to perform this activity.
    Regards,

  • ITunes problems after trying to install Windows XP service pack 2

Hey guys, I've been having trouble with my iTunes among other programs recently, and I was wondering if anyone might be able to help. Basically, my iTunes has been acting strangely ever since I tried upgrading my Windows XP system with Service Pack 2. When it ran through installation, it got all the way through. However, once I rebooted the computer, it told me it was unable to complete due to an unstable system. So it told me to uninstall the software, and I removed it from my program list.
Unfortunately, once I complete removed it from my hard drive, several programs on my machine started to malfunction. Now, whenever I try to play iTunes, it just stops working all of a sudden along with the rest of the sound software on this computer.
The big problem is, I forgot to back up my system before I did all this, so now I'm worried that I'm stuck with this dysfunctional hybrid of a computer system. So now, I've tried reinstalling the old Service Pack 1 onto the computer, but it always seems to cancel in mid-installation.
I know this is probably of a topic that should be posted, on an XP forum, but I was hoping that maybe someone on here might be able to give me some advice on how to solve this problem. If not for my computer, than perhaps at least for my iTunes trouble.
Thanks to all who might be able to help.

The reason I would think your iTunes stopped working is because your system is no longer compatible as iTunes requires Windows XP SP 2 in order to work properly.
If you want to back up your iTunes content then I would suggest opening My Documents>My Music and choose the whole iTunes folder and move it to an external drive. That is normally where all your content is saved, unless you didn't have 'Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library' selected in iTunes then you might want to use the whole My Music folder as your backup.

  • My Computer knows iPod without Service Pack 2 but not with it.

What should I do? I updated my Windows with the latest service pack. Now, it doesn't recognises my iPod... (I wish I had a Mac) (I have a 5G iPod)

    What doesnt see the ipod?
    iTunes
    Or windows?
Take a look at this and see if it helps.
Pod missing in "My Computer" or in iTunes on Windows
