I am planning to migrate my SCCM 2007(5 Primary sites) to SCCM 2012 SP1
1. Can I avoid using physical machine and move it completely to Virtual server.
2. if yes which are the virtual platforms I can use...

Absolutely - as long as they are suitably resourced.

You can, but it's not recommended. If you are going to use Windows all the time, at least give some GBs to OS X, because you will need it to install firmware updates.
Use Boot Camp Assistant to create a Windows partition. You can find it in /Applications/Utilities. Boot Camp Assistant will ask you to download the Windows support software onto a USB drive. You will need to install it in Windows, so it's very important to download it. If not, you will have problems in Windows.

Installing new SCCM 2012 infrastructure over an existing SCCM 2012 Infrastructure

I currently have a standalone SCCM 2012 environment running in production. This implementation isn't in a hierarchy and doesn't support Macs (non-PKI/HTTPS infrastructure), but is managing 1500 PC clients beautifully.
However, we have some sites out-of-state that need to be in their own Primary Site, as well as Macs across both sites need managing as well.
I have made a new environment entirely on 2012 infrastructure (2012 SCCM, 2012 Server, and 2012 SQL). This includes a CAS at the top, a PRI for my current site, and SQL for both (all on different hardware, new names, etc.). I've installed a PKI
infrastructure, and it's currently working fine managing the three servers it contains.
I need to start migrating all of the clients and services to the 'new' SCCM implementation, but pushing the SCCM client installs to over the old SCCM doesn't seem to change any settings. Nor does changing site settings in the control panel of a client.
Anyone know how to configure new site settings without re-installing the SCCM clients on the 'old' infrastructure?

Have you ever used group policy for site assignment? This caught me out when upgrading to a new site code. If it has ever been used, it brands the registry and no amount of tinkering in the configuration manager console or client installation methods could
fix it.
To fix our site, I removed the offending GPO settings and set the 'GPRequestedSiteAssignmentCode', 'GPSiteAssignmentRetryDuration(Hours)' and 'GPSiteAssignmentRetryInterval(Min)' items under 'HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS\Mobile Client' to delete via GPP.

Looks like most of the machines I was testing were indeed installed via GP before I was able to install via the console.
Deleting those registry keys allowed me to push the install over the old environment using 'Install Client' from the 'Devices' console, specifying to re-install client.
Now, I just have to figure out a script to remove those keys via SCCM
***Most of you were wondering why I was installing a CAS environment, it's really because this site doesn't conform all that well to our policies, and they will ultimately be administering their own environment. It seemed to me that it would be easier
for me to delegate control/permissions/data using a hierarchy. It was a tough decision, ***

Anything is possible if you can script it. You could create a task sequence to do the following (with scripts):
1. Demote 2008R2 DC to member server
2. Remove 2008R2 member server from domain
3. Build new 2012R2 member server and join to domain
4. Promote 2012R2 member server to DC
You can do this. However, why would you? Just because you can doesn't mean you should. In my opinion it's more trouble and testing than it's worth. How many times would you need to do this?

There is a program that will test your entire system. Be sure to have every device connected, and powered. It will analyze everything connected, and all your installed sofware. Neat huh?? So here goes, and enjoy. The program.

Is it possible to install the Recovery XP home 2 times on 2 partitions on my Satellite?
I want one as an office and one for music sofware.
When I boot the second new installed system it say: the installation is not complete, please install again!

It should be possible, but it depends on having an 'Advanced' or 'Expert' recovery option within your Product Recovery media.
You'll need a partition utility, such as Powerquest Partition Magic or perhaps Acronis to create the primary partitions and to enable these to be switched or hidden.
Basically, you recover the image to the active partition and then repeat the process for the other partition.
The 'Expert' mode is to ensure that you choose which partition to restore to, without it re-building the entire disc.
It is important to alway hide the inactive partition, otherwise you'll end up with all sorts of strange behaviour.
If you are intending to share data between the two instances of XP, then my advice would be to create a third, extended logical partition and use this as a repository for such data. It is also possible (so I'm told) to install applications that are shared between the partitions, however I've never tried this, so cannot recommend this :-)

Possible to install 10gAS on single server?

Hi, I'm not entirely new to AS. I have worked with 9iAS for a couple years. In the environment I was in, we setup an infrastructure server and a mid-tier server. I'm interested in tinkering with 10gAS, but don't have two servers to play with. Is it possible to install 10gAS on a single server? I found an installation guide on a "basic install" but wasn't sure if that was it or not. Also, I could not tell that it would have all of the features, such as portal.

A Cloud subscription provides for installing working installations on two machines. You can have mixed operating systems (both Windows and Apple's OX).

hello Dahveed, thanks for your reply, i solved it with the help of the migration assistant from another mac - now it works (but before as more info: for my new imac it was not possible to install apple remote desktop from appstore (the install-button not available, the same as installed already...) - and i don't know why...? - is it possible that the reason is the number of owned macs?)
