Is it possible to interface a USB Gamepad to a RT PXI system?

We currently use a RT PXI system to control a subsea ROV.
We would like to interface a Logitech Wingman Gamepad with USB interface to our RT PXI system as a Human Interface Device (HID) to control the ROV. Is it possible?
The gamepad supplier has informed me that the gamepad is "a fully compliant HID device and can be read by any HID-capable platform"

While the application sounds interesting, unfortunately USB devices are not supported on any of our PXI controllers when booted into the Real-Time operating system.

  • USB gamepad recognized as a mouse

I want to use my Logitech USB Gamepad to play some games, but when I plug it in it's not recognized as a gamepad but as a mouse. I can use the D-Pad or Joystick to move the mouse cursor and I can't figure out why that's happening. Here is a lsusb if that helps

So that fixed the problem with it moving the cursor, but now it wont register with any of the buttons in bsnes when I try and set up a controller (although it wasn't before either). Any ideas?

  • Is it possible to have two USB drives for the IPad?  I want to bring RAW photo files from my camera, through the IPad and back to an external hard drive.  One of my cameras does not use an SD card.  How can I do this?

Is it possible to have two USB drives for the IPad?  I want to bring RAW files from my camera through the IPad and out to an external hard drive.  One of my cameras has an SD card but the other one doesn't have a card that would fit in any of the camera devices I've seen on line.  Realted to this, I bought the IPad camera accessory.  Can I put the SD card in the device and also hook the external hard drive to the USB port of the accessory and download from the camera to the hard drive?  Can I put Lightroom or the Nikon photo editing software on the IPad?  Right now I carry a PC laptop and external hard drives with me on wildernes trips.  Internet and WiFi are not available.  Because I shoot so many photos and they're in RAW I need to download from the camera to the external drive because I run out of memory on the PC (and it has much more memory than the IPad).  I have Nikon NX software and lightroom on my PC.  I'd love to be able to reduce the weight I carry by using the IPad to edit my photos each night while on trips.  Is this possible and how would I do it?  I'd appreciate any guidance.

No, the camera connection kit only supports the copying of photos and videos to the Photos app, it doesn't support copying content off the iPad. For your second camera instead of the SD reader part of the kit, does the iPad to camera cable not work with it for direct transfer to the iPad ?
For Lightroom and Nikon software again no - you can only install apps that are available in the iTunes app store on your computer and the App Store app on the iPad, 'normal' PC and Mac (OS X) software are not compatible with the iPad (iOS). There are some apps that perform fairly basic editing functions that are available in the store, but nothing as sophisticated as, for example, Lightroom.

  • Is it possible to use a USB hub on a new MacBook Pro with Maverickss?

I have used a powered Q-Store USB2 hub on first my old trust MacBook with the 13 inch screen running System X.6.8 for years; then I switched it over to my new 13 In. MacBook Pro (non retina) with Mavericks X.9.2 and it still works great. It is powered and seems to run a full load including USB hard drives, camera when wanted, cooling pad with fan, printer/scanner/copier combo, charging a MP3 player or Galaxy S4, apple mouse and keyboard, all with no trouble and no drop outs. I let an old Firewire 400 or 800 hard disk stay with my old Macintosh for now as it mirrors it, but sometimes hook it up with no problem except it gets hot.
I have a new USB3  WD Passport 3 hard drive and a 32 gb USB 3 memory stick. I wanted to put these on a USB3 hub and use one of the ports for the faster items. I can run either my WD My Passport 3 Gb drive that I use to mirror my internal drive as long as it is alone. I can also plug a 32 gb A Data memory stick in fine alone except things get a bit snug, and there's no more room on the USB 2 hub for the memory stick. If I do not use a hub for the one port I have to either use the Hard Drive or the memory stick, not both. I was using the memory stick to port files back and forth between my old and new computers at least for a while. The USB 3 peripherals work reliably when plugged in alone, but the moment a hub gets in the picture even if only one item is plugged into it, things drop in and out. It does not matter if it is the powered USB 3 hub or the non-powered Anker USB 3 4 port hub. The USB 2 items simply work but the USB 3 ones only work alone. I have looked at the power specifications. It seems like one hard drive uses all of the power the hub can put out.
It looks like the USB 3 is rather limited on Macintosh computers is all I can conclude. There may be extra speed, but what good is it if you can only run one peripheral at a time? It seems like even a hub stresses it unless it is a hub and a memory stick or two. I even changed to system settings to keep my hard drives from going to sleep, but still it drops out randomly if hooked to a hub and runs perfectly when plugged in directly. I had hoped to use it for an emergency start up disk if needed, though I must say the rather incredible StoreEdge Micro SDX card works great for that purpose and seems to belong.
That old USB 2 hub, even with a smaller one plugged in with 2 portable hard drives still works flawlessly on the other port and never drops out.
I have not tested the Firewire 800 port long enough to decide, except it gets hot if it reads very long.. The old Firewire 800 / USB 2 hard disk has more than one port on it unlike so many today. I had to use a Firewire 800 to 400 cable for my old computer. Anyway it works in either computer and stays mounted even when asleep.
Is it possible to use a USB 3 hub with more than one peripheral on a 2012-2013 13 inch MacBook Pro computer with Mavericks? If so which one works? It cannot be good for hard disks to randomly disconnect and reconnect without being dragged to the trash.

no you can't - you have to upgrade it to 16GB yourself.
you can get your RAM from newegg.com, macsales.com.
    the RAM you need is 16GB (8GBX2) DDR3 1600MHz DDR3.
upgrading the RAM yourself will not void your warranty.
you need a #00 Phillips Screwdriver - 10 screws at the bottom - 7 long ones and 3 short ones - just remember where they go when you put the screws back in.
    a simple 10 minute job.

  • Is it possible to connect 2 usb devices to an Airport Extreme?

Is it possible to connect 2 usb devices to an Airport Extreme (either the newest, ac model or the previous model) using a usb hub?

Apple does not provide a compatibility list for USB connected devices, so no one can tell you whether things will work until you try it out yourself.
If both the Iomega drive and HP printer work when you connect them individually to the AirPort Extreme, then your chances using a powered hub are quite good....assuming that the USB hub is functioning correctly.
In other words, make sure that both devices are working when you try them individually connected to the USB port on the AirPort Extreme. If they don't work that way, they won't work with a powered hub either.

There are some wireless external hard drives that can be used with the iPad.
The Kingston Wi-Drive, which costs $50 for the 16 Gigabyte, and then $30 more for every 16 gigs more. It works by you turning it on and then accessing the files on it from an app that you download on your iDevice. You can access music, movies, and other stuff. No connections or anything, it works like a WiFi connection, you connect to it from the setting on the iPad under wireless networks.
Then there is the Seagate GoFlex, which some would recommend over the Wi-Drive. But this one costs $199 and had 500 Gigabytes of storage. It works the sameway as the Kingston: no wires, runs over its wireless connection. You can actually fit up to 300 HD movies on it.
    Another option:

  • Portege P3500: It's possible to start from USB-stick?

Is it possible to start from usb-stick? i have tried to make a bootable usb-stick , and it really worked on my pc at home , but not on the laptop ..bios settings are ok , as far i know (usb-fdd legacy enable , first boot device fdd)
    where is the problem ?

Try to update bios. Even though it has that option does not mean that it will. Make sure in BIOS that legacy emulation is enabled as well. Then connect your USB and turn on the computer. Go into bios and check to see if your USB keystick is located under boot devices, which it should be. Other then that, you might have installed the boot program wrong. CD's etc have a boot.ini file. Basically an ini means initiate. So boot.ini initiates boot process. If this is configured wrong, or doesnt exist on the boot device you are using, it will not boot from the device even if configured in BIOS.

  • Is it possible, to add multiple USB devices to TC

Is it possible, to add multiple USB devices using a hub to Time Capsule (as stated for Airport Extreme)?
    Thanks in advance.
    Stefan

The Time Capsule is an AirPort Extreme with a built-in hard drive, so you can add multiple USB devices if you use a powered USB hub.

  • Usb gamepad

    i have a quickshot usb gamepad (2 axis + 8 buttons)
i can make it work but it's recognized as a 6 axis gamepad so i can't play anything right
anyone knows how to fix this???
    thanks

this means you're loading the wrong joystick module. i'm guessing you have the analog module loaded. there's probably a more specific module you could use.
Read the Arch Joystick Wiki and the kernel's joystick documentation
Unfortunately there's nothing specific about quickshot in there. I haven't heard of it, but frankly that doesn't mean too much try having a long search through google to find out what module might work, and play around. loading modules doesn't hurt your computer heh
I had the same problem with my Logitech ThunderPad Digital, and I found out that I actually need to load the adi module instead of analog to get all 8 buttons working.

Is it possible to use a USB aircard on the 11" MacBook Air?

No, the superdrive works only with Mac that don't have an optical superdrive built in in the first place.
However, if you have a newer Mac that could support the SuperDrive or another computer (Mac or PC) which has an optical drive, you could use this: DVD or CD sharing: Using Remote Disc - Apple Support

It's possible disable interfaces filters at execution time ?
I need to disable some filter according parameter values of my Scenarios, it's possible ?
    How ?

One way of doing this would be to duplicate the interface, remove the filter in the interface copy and then dynamically select which interface to run based on your scenario parameter
