Is it possible to just show new posts of selected forums?
Hi there,
is there a possibility to just show new posts of selected forums? At vbulletin forums you can do this via search.php?include=1,2,3 so I tried search.php?action=show_new&fid=20,30,33,47,42,24,50 here. But it only searches for the new posts of forum with the id 20 and ignores all the other parameters.. Any ideas? Did I overlook this function anywhere?

Question to the administration: Is it possible to implement this feature? As for now I can search each forum for new posts with search.php?action=show_new&fid=20 for example. So it shouldn't be that complex to implement a search with multiple forum IDs like search.php?action=show_new&fid=20,21,22,23?
Would be really great..
To the suggestion with "New" threads or new posts in threads (search.php?action=show_new): It's a lot to search through and I don't want to spend too much time for it

Getting a permission error clicking "Show new posts since last visit".
If I click "Show new posts since last visit" after I have read a thread, I will get a "You do not have permission to access this page.". This is starting to get a bit annoying. Please look into it.

Watch just new posts in a forum, rather than all new replies
Hi,
if we watch a forum via email option, for instance, PI forum, in 3 days, there were around 80 new posts and 400 replies
what i am intersted is the new posts of the threads, so that i am able to check if it is relavant me.
with watch forum by email option, i am getting so many mails.
many thread reply mails, i am not really interested, so i need to delete the replies so that my mailbox doesn't get full.
it would be better if an option is provided in the "Your wathches" page to watch just new threads.

While we wait for development, here is a workaround: filter the mails with your mail program or web service and assign a tag "new thread" or similar.
Works OK in Google Mail, my filter criteria is "subject:(-Re: -Thread)".

The audio books I purchase are from Audible - I listen largely because my eyesight is going and I've been an avid reader. I'd like to keep the books on the iPod and not the computer to save space on the computer. Is this even possible?
Yes, though not advisable for content that you may not be able to redownload on demand. I'm not sure what Audible's policy, but with iTunes there is only one download.
You can either place the device in manually managed mode, in which case content you delete from the library won't be automatically removed from the device, or delete the files from Windows Explorer while keeping the entries for the same in the iTunes library. With the second approach iTunes will warn that it cannot find the files to sync (you can disable the warning) but it won't remove them, and you retain the advantage of being able to automatically sync other content.

Adding 'Show new posts' and 'mark all topics as read' links
I would request the admins to add those links even in the sub-forums and within the threads as well. I always use those and find that I have to keep backing out everytime I go into a thread. I don't think it should be a huge deal to add a couple of links. That area is void of anything in the sub-forums anyway.

well anyways...
i have a ibook g4 12" 1.33Ghz and i have a problem with my screen
well one of my friends were playing with my ibook when he dropped it and the screen opened in a line( like a 180 degree)
the screen works just fine but on the bottom screen of my ibook there is a huge gap bewteen the screen and the lcd panel/screen holder
and now i can't even close my ibook unless i practically sit on it
well not sit but push really hard
and when i do get a chance to close it the screen looks lopsided
well i bought this ibook in South Korea about 6 months ago
and i was wondering if i can get it fixed or fix it myself
and can you please estimate how much it would cost
p.s. i only have the ibook, ac adapter, battery, OS X tiger dvd install, ilife 05', and a mighty mouse
i still have the manual for the ibook and the OS X Tiger but i dont know how the warranty paper looks like
oh yeah... and my mighty mouse is wired and there seems to be a problem with the scrolling button. it wont scroll down sometimes and i also bought it 6 moths ago.
can i also exchange it too???
an estimated price would be perfect for suggestion.

RSS feed doesn't give date of new post

I use Firefox/Sage to check what's new in the Oracle planet with RSS feed.
All works fine, exept for new posts in all forums, I haven't the date of posting.
For other center, like "Oracle Press Releases" for example, I have the date of new posts. The problem exists only for posts coming from forum.

In the link which you gave, there are two date tag (as for all forum's rss) : creationDate and modificationDate, but there is not output into RSS feed screen.
In the link below (oramag rss), there is only one date tag : pubDate, and this date is output as well on the rss field.

Version 5.0 on a MAC will not let me switch between tabs. I can open a new tab, but when I try to go to a different tab, it just shows me the contents of the tab most recently opened. Help!
Also, pop up blocker works for some time and then just stops working. I have to close and restart Firefox to get it to work again. Help!I had the same problem, but with Firefox 4.0. My first thought was to update Firefox (after of course restarting FF), but that didn't help it and I had the same problem.
Among others, I had an extension installed and enabled called Tile Tabs 4.10 that I thought could feasibly creating this problem. So I went into my add-ons manager and disabled it, restarted Firefox and the tabs worked properly again. Unfortunately, the Tile Tabs extension is my favorite Firefox add-on and I use it almost every day for managing my web work tasks. I went to the add-on page for Tile Tabs and saw that there was a notice that version 4.10 didn't work properly on Mac OS, and to install version 4.9 of the extension. I saw they had a new, not-yet-reviewed version 4.11 that addressed the Mac OS problem, installed it, and everything seems to be working properly.
I have no idea why all of a sudden I had this problem, as I hadn't updated Firefox or the Tile Tabs extension recently. Also, obviously this might not address your problem, especially if you don't have that add-on installed and enabled. But our problem started at the same time for both of us it appears based on your post time, so its probably not coincidence.
But its worth a look, and you might want to check out other extensions if you don't have Tile Tabs that could be causing the problem. -
I upgraded my iPad 2 (3G) to the new OS8 and I can no longer connect to 3G. All the settings on the iPad are correct. It just shows that it's searching for a signal. I'm in an area where my signal (pre OS8) was very good in strength. Please help!

I have restored my new replacement iPhone from my latest iCloud back up. However my camera roll pictures are not displaying. Its not saying I don't have any pictures in my camera roll, it has all the spaces for them, but it just shows empty white squares? How do I get my pictures back? Thanks!
It's difficult to say whether it's stuck or not as the time to restore a backup can depend on many factors. You'll have to decide when you think it's just not continuing. You could try turning the phone off (hold the power button until you see the red off slider, then slide to turn off), then back on to see if that would get it going again.
When you're convinced it's just hung, you can go back to settings and tap Stop Restoring iPhone to stop the restore. You'll then have to try restoring it again (Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup). Be sure it's connected to your charger and wifi while it's restoring the backup.
You might also try the approach posted here by ezjules: https://discussions.apple.com/message/19518589#19518589. This seems to have worked for some people who had trouble restoring their photos from an iCloud backup. -
Recently I upgraded to Firefox 4. I frequent various forums where I post advise on various subjects. I am finding that version 4 is showing the threads in the forums, allowing me to log in and to post. However the posts as sent in are not coming up at all, even if I get out and return, the page is not "refreshed."
this is a follow up from the profane post earlier....
i have done this twice in two other posts..
here is my problem.. i started off trying to update itunes, it failed twice and said i needed to install manually via tools.
the only place to get to tools is the pop up box that appears when you click check for updates.. if there is an available update then the pop up shows up with the quick time and itunes files to download. so i finally figured that out. i clicked on tools and manual update, four files were saved to a file. Apple mobile device support, another one similar, itunes, and another one i cant remember. I only downloaded the itunes file seeing as though thats all i needed to accomplish in the first place.
so then i restarted my computer bc you need to reboot and then reopen itunes for update to take effect. once i have itunes back open i plugged in my new 5s which i am trying to sync to my computer to get all my stuff back bc i lost my previous phone over the weekend.. once i plugged the phone in an error stating i needed to unistall the apple mobile device support and itunes and then reinstall. well i dont know where those files were originally stored on my computer AND since my itunes was updated, just not the other 3 associated files, when i click check for updates it says its up to date and then pop up containing the quick time and itunes does not pop up thus i cant get back to the tools tab to manually save the 4 files again.
so i was just going to uninstall itunes all together and then i thought well what happens if it erases all my photos apps songs etc... which would defeat the whole purpose in the first place of me trying to sync my new phone to get all my stuff back.
so i literally have no idea what to do at this point.. if you have read this you are probably just as confused as me... -
Regarding the Facebook App...
Even since the last update (10.4.0.12) the posts on all FB Pages and Friend Timelines are out of chronological order (scrambled) and only show older posts (you cannot see any new posts).
This was not an issue with the preveious version of the Facebook app. Blackberry users are extremely upset about this and require some type of communication from Blackberry about a near future fix or an option to return to the previous version of the Facebook app.
For Blackberry users who manage Facebook Pages for Business on-the-go, this update has crippled them.
Why would Blackberry release an update with such a massive functionality set-back?
Did Blackberry not test the App prior to releasing the update?
So many Blackberry users are upset. Many are leaving blackberry for android or iOS. Just read the reviews on the Facebook app in Blackberry World. Blackberry might be able to save some of these Blackberry users by communicating to its customers and ensuring them that there will be a fix in the near future. To most BB users, a properly functioning Facebook app is crutial and is their most frequently used app on their device.
Again, BLACKBERRY... Communication please!...

Go to Solution.#1) BlackBerry never gives forward looking information. Even if they were working on a fix (and hopefully they are) they wouldn't tell us.

It looks like it's just a bar file so I recommend using Sachesi to load it. Here are some instructions for using Sachesi. The instructions are for installing Snap (which, if you don't have it, I highly recommend if you're on OS 10.2.1.xxx) and you can use the same instructions for installing the Facebook bar file(s)

The other option is to use Snap to install the Android version of Facebook. I hear it works well.

A new post to my iTunes U course shows up in my course both on my Mac and my iPad Air, as well as on other students' iPads, but for one single student. We have closed the app and forced shutdown. Student recently added more icloud space, but that is all. iPad is up-to-date in terms of iOS and iTunesU app. The student has only one Apple ID associated with her iPad.
We have reposted two more times. The second time the post showed up for a few seconds, but then disappeared. It does not show up under any other section (assignments, discussions, etc). Any assistance is greatly appreciated.Have you contacted Apple support?
I don't know if these will work, but you could have the student try the following:
logout of his or her iTunes U (i.e., iTunes Store) account using Settings
force-quit iTunes U
relaunch iTunes U
sign in to the newly launched app when prompted

Given the state your device is in you have already erased your old stuff. You have an image on the screen that says, "Connect to iTunes." That's what the image means. So you will need iTunes on your computer.
