Is it possible to just upgrade to the next version?
I have version 3.1 of Aperture and just bought a MacBook Pro with Retina would like to upgrade to the latest version, but cannot find an upgrade option. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Is Aperture installed on the new machine yet? If so run Software Update you should get the latest version of Aperture for your system.
If not, install from the original media you have for it and then run Software update.
BTW what is the version of OS X that you are running?

I have just upgraded to the new version of itunes on windows 7. I have just added 8 albums (Mp3 format) to my itunes library, synced with my Ipod classic and my wifes ipod nano, the albums have transferred to the devices but wont play when selected. Yet they will play in itunes.
When I select the album on the ipod, it opens up as normal but when you press play nothing happens other than a wining sound from the hard drive of the ipod.
My itunes library is a mix of itune purchases and mp3 purchases and this is the first time I have experienced this issue
Hopefully there is a simple explanation to thisIt is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

I have just upgraded to the latest version of OSX as invited by Apple. Since then iTunes will not play and my volume controls have stopped working - in Preferences the sound controller is not able to find any input or output devices. What is going on?
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
There will be no audio output in safe mode. The question to be answered by the test is whether any devices are listed in the Sound preference pane. After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -

Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

Library Duplicated
I just updated to the latest version of iTunes and it duplicated virtually every track in my library. I need a quick way to delete the duplicates. Sorting by "Date Added" will not work, because every track is listed as added on 12/12/2011 even though this happened today 12/19/2011.I've written a script called DeDuper which can help remove unwanted duplicates. I prefer to update ff manually. However, if I miss a few updates and then select update, it updates one update at a time, instead of just updating to the newest version in one clean sweep - like it should! This is crazy time-consuming and irritating. This IS NOT status quo! Firefox is a little behind the times here. I am not looking for suggestions on how i should just remove and
reinstall Firefox. That's time consuming too. I JUST WANT FIREFOX TO KNOW THAT THEY NEED TO MODERNIZE MANUAL UPDATE TO JUMP TO THE NEWEST VERSION IN ONE STEP!It's possible that Firefox had downloaded that intermediate update automatically but not applied it for one reason or another, so rather than go to the web and check for a newer update, Firefox just used the one it already had. It's unusual to have so many point updates so frequently, so I'm not sure when it would be possible to try to observe this possibility.

Not sure why I am getting this message anyway. I wasn't trying to buy anything. I just upgraded and then I tried to access the store. I had two purchases that I had previously made from a different computer. I was going to download them to this computer as my iPod is synced to this computer and you can only sync it to one computer. I was able to view my account information and from there I was able to click on the Purchased link. I saw the two items and downloaded them. But I received an error about the second album. It said that I didn't have sufficient privileges. When I checked all the songs had downloaded. Only the booklet was missing. Maybe this has something to do with the issue, I don't know. As far as I know, I purchased everything from the US store. I don't even know how to switch to a different store.
In any case, I can't access the store because the item I requested is not currently available in the US store. So why don't they just dump me at the home page instead of blocking me completely.It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

This message keeps appearing on my google home page no matter which upgrade is installed. this has occured for the last three upgrades. It also affects youtube and hotmail which keep telling me my browser is outdated even though I have just installed the current version. I am running xp pro on an old, slow Netvista.

Worked fine before upgraded of iTunesto the latest version now cannot sync iPod touch. error message is that will be wiped and replaced by library which is too big for the device so I have to wipe it and reinstall manually which takes at least four hours. My Windows computers (one Windows Vista computer, one XP sp3 computer) recently attemped to upgrade Itunes to the latest version, and now, I get an error message that reads:

Now, Itunes will not work. I cannot play any of my Pod Casts, or downloaded music. Quick Time Player, and any other Apple application does not work. E-bray is a reader that allows me to easily read the college's Library's selection of electronic media. I am running version 5.0 of Firefox and the other version worked fine. It may have been version 3, I think. I have version 3 in my download. Can I load this version back onto my lap or will this really mess things up?

Many add-ons do in fact work if you force them to run. The procedure to roll-back is given in this article: [[installing previous versions of firefox]]
Unfortunately the official Firefox policy is that you downgrade to 3.6 which is supported for a while longer, and not the now unsupported Firefox 4. If after installing and running the ''add-on compatibility reporter'' you still have problems there are ways around the official policy.
I think it is absurd that Firefox 4 may be used by tens of millions of users one day and a few days later those that upgrade to Firefox 5 should be not only told not to use a now unsupported browser, if they need to revert due to problems, but are actually obstructed in attempts to do so. I have been using waterfox for the last year or so and decided to upgrade. I found that Nightly was a supported version for 64-bit systems, so I downloaded and installed it. Well, now several websites I accessed with waterfox do not work correctly or at all with nightly. For example: When I log into one of my cPanel accounts (actually most of them) and try to edit websites, I get no response. If I switch to IE or Chrome (which I would rather not) I can use them just fine. Also, several news websites or even social sites do not completely load and are very sluggish. I've cleared the cache and did the general housekeeping to clean stuff out but it still won't work right. What should I do? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Unstable means it can vary in stability day by day as it can be crash prone to being stable. Features can be a work in progress for a while. The May 24 Nighty build was crash prone for a lot of testers for example.

I can't find any of the tabs for tools to switch to my manual proxy. Also, it disable a lot of tabs I use to have.
You can now find "Options" and all the other common menu commands by clicking on the orange "Firefox" button. Or you can also tap the "alt" key on your keyboard to bring back the old menus like File, Edit, and Tools.
