Is it possible to keep the reference of VO Instance in AM session UserData

Hi,
I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.0.0.
Is it possible to keep the reference of ViewObject Instance in the Application Module Session User Data? Will it have any side effect and is it best practice?
Instead of find the View Object every time form the Application Module, directly access the instance of viewobject stored in the user data and proceed further for our business logic implementations.

Its not recommended(and it may fail in real life scenario). You may run in to issues when AM is getting passivated. VO has set of supporting components and most of them are not Serialize. Assuming you deal with data from third party data source and your VO is programmatic VO, a possibility could be caching the data used for populating VO through some cluster aware caching mechanisms instead of caching VO instance. Alternatively, if the number of rows are less, use transient VO

Is it possible to keep the "Email me when someone replies" checkbox AFTER you make a posting?

I'm not sure if I'm the only who does this, but sometimes I forget to check off this box before submitting a new post (i.e, starting a new message thread). Currently, this feature disappears after you submit a new message thread. It is real useful feature to have, and without it, makes your posting experience a lot less desirable.
Is it technically possible to keep the check-off box available at all times during a posted thread?

It is possible to automatically subscribe to topics you participate in:
At the top of the page, click on the "My Settings" link, located after the "Sign Out" link by your name in the grey box.
Click on the "Subscriptions and Bookmarks" tab
Check box after "Notify me for my own posts and replies"
- and/or -
Check box after "Automatically subscribe me to topics I participate in" to add the topics to your subscription list.
Scroll down and Save changes
You should now automatically get notices each time a new reply is added to the topic.

Thanks for your help. On my own, I also discovered that in "mail" I could go to the menu bar and "window" and down to "address panel" which brought on screen and from there able to drag and drop addresses. As stated, I am a Mac "Newbie" and appreciate your help.

Does that mean you have to sign out of creative cloud on one machine and sign back in to creative cloud on the other machine to be able to use it?
No. You can be signed in to the Cloud (using the same Adobe ID) on two separate computers at the same time.
If you want to activate the Cloud on a 3rd machine then you need to sign out of one of the other computers.
Your issue on your home computer is unlikely to be related to signing in.

Not in Full Screen mode. Then you need to shove the cursor to the top of the screen to show the menubar.

How do I keep the Reference Point setting at top, left

The nine-by-nine grid in the top left corner (where the vertical and horizontal rulers meet) won't stay selected as the top left setting depending on what I select in my document. Sometimes it's the top left, sometimes it's the bottom right and sometimes it's the top middle. How can I set it so that every box I select in a document will give me the top left reference point (X-Y coordinate)?
I'm proofing a document to make sure it's set-up correctly and all the page-heading colored boxes are starting at the same X-Y coordinate, have the same width and the next box down on the page starts at the proper location. None of these boxes were created on a master page so I have to check each one. (And even if they were, they've all been released from the master to change their colors and place images.) In other words, on one page there is a colored box across the top that is 10p6 high, so the next box down (vertically) needs to start at the X-Y coordinate of 0, 10p6. But when I click on it the reference point is not always at the top left. So I click on the box, then click on the top left reference point, check the X-Y location and height of the box, then click on the next box down the page and click on the top left reference point and compare the X-Y location to the previous box's height.
I have selected the top left reference point with no documents open to set that as my default preference but I didn't create this document.

Can I keep the reference point in indesign from changing?

Not sure I'm in the right forum here, but here goes--I'm working in InDesign5. I have to place 100's of scans into boxes in a single layout, and often have to adjust size by percentage (using shift-command-< or >) after they're in the box. My issue is with the reference point changing with each scan. I'd like to set it to one spot and not have to reset every time I place a new scan, which obviously becomes tedious and time consuming. Any thoughts?

Actually, these are my own documents, originally built in Quark (several years ago) and updated on a basically yearly basis.They're not exactly templates, but working documents.
Have you ever exported this file to INX/IDML and re-opened? That's a really normal corruption-clearing first step when handling InDesign docs, and you have two different features of your doc (started life as a Quark doc and converted into InDesign, and then updated from one version of ID to the next) that can sometimes induce corruption. One instance where I always export INX/IDML is when I'm moving a file from an older version of ID to a newer one, as when you moved from CS4 to CS5.
But, honestly, I can't tell whether your document is showing signs of minor corruption, or if your install of InDesign is Functioning As Designed. Does it remember which corner is active from copy to copy? Is it getting the active corner from whatever element was on top before you grouped? Is copying and pasting somehow messing it up; would it happen if you used File -> Place? Is it remembering from the source document? As you can imagine, I'm sure, there are plently of permutations to test.
Lastly, note that setting the reference point before you open is only going to affect new documents that you start fresh - your frequently-updated ex-Quark docs will not be affected when you choose a new default corner with no docs open. It would be whatever corner was active when you first converted your doc from Quark to ID, however many years ago that was.
If you want to continue troubleshooting, I'd suggest posting a new thread in the InDesign forum (which isn't broken anymore). If you supply a link to this thread, or summarize what we've already discussed, you probably won't have a bunch of people telling you to export IDML and re-open.

I have created a button with a text field. This is an internal linked object. I was hoping to be able to edit the text for each instance of the button. But still be able to later change the look. Is there a way to preserve the local text edits?

Possible to keep the 'flash' light on?

So my BlackBerry Curve 8320 doesn't have the feature to record videos. I've noticed when I have taken pictures, the flash is extremely bright for a phone.
I am curious, is there any type of app out there that is able to turn my flash on and to keep it on till I command it to turn it off? On the newer blackberry's you can just record a video with the flash on and use the bright flash as you would a flashlight, but I am unfornate because I have a Curve 8320.
So is there an app out there for this? Is it even possible to do so?

The BlackBerry Curve 8320 does have the ability to record videos. You have to make sure it is running the latest version of the software for your wireless service provider. Please follow the link below to update your device to the latest version of the handheld software.
Make sure to Back up your BlackBerry Smartphone prior to updating it. You can do this by going to the BlackBerry Desktop Manager then click on the Backup and Restore button. Connect your BlackBerry Smartphone and select Backup.

Is it possible to keep the outline auto formatting from Pages when copying and pasting that outline to the Presenter Notes on Keynote?

I have been using my iPad for my notes, but I want to start using it as a remote for my macbook. When I copy and paste the notes into the Presenter Notes section of Keynote on the macbook, it unformatted. Any bullet point formatting that I do on my macbook is not showing on my iPad's Remote view Presenter Notes. Is there a way to create consistency here that does not involved formatting each one separately?

Hello community, this is my first entry. Please consider this, if my expressions aren't clear enough. Would be great to find a solution. I use an external USB 3.0 hard drive formatted as HFS+ (under Windows 8 I use MacDrive Pro to have full read/write access) on my MacBook Pro Retina, which hold all my music files. As long as I import and manage my iTune media files under the Mac OS X version of iTunes everything is fine. But when I boot Windows 8 under Bootcamp - I need this native Window environment for my job - and import regular Audio CDs into iTunes for Windows it cuts all my file names of new imported files. The tags are complete, but the file names aren't. Is there a way to change this behaviour of iTunes for Windows? Perhaps a registry entry or something like this. I look forward for your help. Best

The content and format of the cache will and do change from version to version of javaws. It is highly unadvisable to build into you application relying on the location or format.
That being said, for 1.4.2 or 1.5.0, the location was as given: "C:\Documents and Settings\<UserID>\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javaws", and in long path below that depending on the URL of the resource.
For version 6, the cache is in : "C:\Documents and Settings\<UserID>\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0" and then in a directory below that named "0" thry "63", depending on the hash of the URL of the resource. The name will be completely obscure, there will be one binary index file with "idx" extension, and then the actual resource will be the file of the same name w/o any extension.

is it possible to import new slides and keep the audio?
The designers have changed the housestyle of the powerpoints,
but the audio has been recorded in captivate in the meanwhile. Is
it possible to keep the audio of the files and replace all the old
powerpoint slides with new ones? (not one by one by hand off but
all in one button press ?)

Are you saying that your Library has lots of other audio that
isn't really used on a slide? If so, try right-clicking the Library
panel and choosing "Select Unused Items". This should highlight all
the sound files not in use. Now press the Delete key and they
should be removed from the Library view.
Now you are faced with just what is left. You may not know
which clip goes with which slide. So try this. In your Film strip,
audio attached to the slide should appear as a Speaker icon in the
corner. Click the Speaker icon and pop down (or up) menu should
display. Choose "Find in Library". This should highlight the
associated clip in the Library. Now, if you like, you may
right-click the file in the Library and rename that to something
like "Slide X audio" (so you know which clip goes with which
slide).

Keeping the heading when scrolling down the page

In Excell it is possible to keep the column heading row separate so that when you scroll down through pages of numbers the headings are still visible at the top of the rows. Is it possible to do this in Numbers?

Go to the "inspector"-click on the "table" icon-then "headers and footers" where you can set the number of headers or footers you want and click/unclick "freeze". You can also do that directly from the button bar on the "header-footer" buttons
