Is it possible to know which iTunes song my music is being matched to?

I have a lot of ripped music that I aquired over many years, but I no longer have the albums. In order to have the correct artwork displayed and proper info tagged on my music, it would be really nice to know which exact song my music is being matched with in iTunes. Often times, you can find out by listening and length of song, but many times this turns out to be too tedious of a detective issue.
So is this something than can be relatively easily figured out?

Thank you for your response.
I actually have Tune Up, and whereas the software is somewhat glitchy it does a decent job. However, I would really like to know which specific song in Apple's iTunes library my song is matched to.
Thanks again.

    I have synced two devices in FF. Is it possible to know which computers are synced using? I am worried about someone figuring out my email address and password.

    HI nilhanw,
    No currently there is not manage devices, only manage device. However changing the password will change the certificates on all the devices within less of an hour.
    I hope this helps.

  • How do I know which iTunes area to use to transfer info from my old iPhone to my new iPhone? There are too many iTune areas specific for music or movies, etc. none specified for iPhone transfers.

    Which iTunes area do I access to transfer my info from my old iPhone to my new iPhone?  Music, movies, iU?  I don't see any specific for iPhone transfers.

    Thanks for your reply but maybe it would be helpful if you could elaborate a bit on that or maybe I was not clear enough in my question. What I need to do is NOT stop using icloud. But gather everything that is already stored in my old icloud account (X) and save it in my device (iphone, ipad etc) and then continue using icloud but with my new account (Y).
    In a scheme:
    "->" = "becomes"
    Step 1) data from X -> independent device data, and then the X account is removed from the device while the data stays.
    Step 2) account Y is added to the device.
    Step 2 continued) now the device has a. "the independent device data" that was drawn from the account X and b. the litte piece of data from Y that I have already created.
    Step 3) independent device data -> data in account Y (along with everything that is created from now on, and everything that has been stored there. The little piece mentioned above.) Everything should now be merged in Y. Merged in a "good" way. Not overwritten, not deleted etc. Nothing should be lost (old or new, from the device or from X or from Y).
    The last step is kind of optional. If the best I can get is having data associated to Y (future and past) AND "independent device data" that is so independent to the point that it cannot be added to my Y account since icloud recognizes and stores only data that is created after the account's addition to the device, then I can deal with that.
    I hope I cleared everything out.
    I need my notes and pages documents from my old icloud account to become independent device data and just stick to the device. And then, if possible, be uploaded to my new icloud account.

  • Is it possible to know which tool is selected

    I've successfully registered for the 'slct' event and have Photoshop calling back to my script so that I can handle it. However, I'm trying to target the marquee select tool specifically and so I need to know which tool has been selected. Is there any way to find that out?
    Thanks for your help!
    Jeremy

    I probably need to provide better context for my question. I apologize for not doing so beforehand; it was late at night by the time I decided to finally ask the experts here (after hours of unsuccessfully attempting to figure this out on my own). So here it is (let me know if you need more information):
    First, pictured at left are the Photoshop tools to which I am referring. When a user selects a tool from the tool palette, I am able to get the message. But what I don't know is how to determine which tool has been selected so that I can accurately reflect the state of the marquee tool in my panel UI. Here is a snippet of the handling code in AS3:
    private const SLCT_INT:int = Photoshop.app.charIDToTypeID('slct');
    private function myPhotoshopCallback(eventID:Number, descID:Number):void {
    var desc:ActionDescriptor = new ActionDescriptor();desc.fromID(descID);
    switch (eventID){
     case SLCT_INT:
    //handle slct case
    //check if marquee is selected and if so select the panel's marquee button, else deselect the panel's marquee button
    jsxInterface.popAlert(
    "slct");
    break;
    default:
    //should not get here
    break;}
    I know I have everything hooked up correctly because I am calling a JSX function to show an alert and that is showing up correctly:
    //JSX function call from AS
    function popAlert(s) {
        alert(s);
    While debugging, I see that the eventID = 1936483188:
    So... is there any way to further disambiguate which tool is triggering the event?
    Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. I'll keep digging into this, but I hope someone with more expertise than I can chime in as I am stumped at present.

  • Is it possible to use the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store without a computer?

    Hi all,
    I received a new 16gb iPod Touch over the weekend. I don't have a PC or an Apple computer around, so I went down to the Apple store and they activated my iPod for me. Cool.
    Now I want to buy some songs from the Wi-fi store, but it looks like I need an account. Is it possible to create an iTunes Music Store account without actually using iTunes? I searched the Apple site but was unable to find anything that helped.
    Hmm...now that I spell it out, it does sound kind of impossible, since I would need to somehow get that account info onto my iPod Touch...am I screwed?
    Thanks for any help!

    Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    You've already created the AppleID (you need that to post here), could you ask a friend, work collegue or the Apple Store to allow you to sync those details across?
    cheers

  • Is it possible to know which thread created a component?

    Hi,
    I have two thread running, one of them opened up a model dialog and waits for user interaction. Between, I got a reference to the model dialog object in my second thread and I want to know the thread name which has shown/created this component. Is is possible?
    thanks in advance .............

    If you need it, you can arrange to store it just as you stored the reference to the dialog component itself.
    But why would you need it?

  • Is it possible to track which itunes account is using my lost iphone 4, through imei/serial number?

    I lost my iphone 1 month back.  I have been logging on icloud and have been checking Find My iphone regularly. So far the person who took the phone connected on Internet once. When that happened I got an email...but no GPS locations as such. I would like to know whether it would be possible to check (using IMEI or Serial number) which account is using my phone other than my own account...just wondering whether there is something like that. thanks.

    No, it is not possible.
    Report the device lost/stolen to law enforcement and move on with your life.
    FYI, if they have signed in with a new Apple ID or restored it and then signed in with a new Apple ID it will never show on "Find My iPhone" when signed in with any other Apple ID.
    Apple does not track lost/stolen devices.

  • Is it possible to know which bluetooth services are available with a MIDlet

    ...Bluetooth Services like Serial Port Support, Obex File Transfer, Dial-up Networking...
    I've already try to search with "getProperty()" (api.version, n max. of devices...) but it awlays return "null" !!!!. I'm a beginner in j2me BLUETOOTH. Thanks!

    Varies from phone to phone.
    I believe it is recommended to use a port between
    16001 and 16999 on a J2me app as these are almost
    always free.
    In my opinion the best way to find out what will work
    and what won't is to create a small app which will
    try to create an SMS connection on a specified port
    (specified through something like a textbox) and
    which will display something indicative if an
    IOException is thrown during the process of
    creation.
    Most manufacturers usually also have documentation on
    this on their developer sites...hi i have a similar problem with they guy above
    i have installed a camera network wich has acces to web from port 8080 i have access from any computer that has internet but when i connect with the java app provided from the cameras company it throws "java.lang.securityexception untrusted midlet attempted to connect to a restricted port" i was wondering if i change te port tha i connect will i have access from that program?? and if yes wich port should i use? i am asking because its not easy to have access to the router to change the port forwarding settings thank you in advance

  • HT1711 I am trying to send my purchased itunes song to windows 7 for background music on my home made videos. Doesn`t seem to work.. How do you do this

    Is it possible to export my itunes songs to window media.... I do not know whether I have a plus version song or not

    Sync works the same way it always has, connect the device, select the content desired to sync and sync.
    All the media should be in iTunes already, iDevices are not and have never been backup devices.
    If this is a new computer, move the content from the old computer to the new computer.

  • Can we know which DBs are having access through DBLinks to local DB?

    Gurus,
    Is it possible to know which DBs are linked to our local DB using DB Links?
    e.g.
    There are 2 DBs Database1 and Database2 having schemas Schema1 and Schema2 respectively.,
    Schema1 in Database1 is having a DBLink DBLink1 which connects to Schema2 of Database2.
    Hence, by logging into Schema1 a user can access the objects of Schema2 in Database2 ( assume that appropriate privilages are granted)
    If "I" have access to Database2 only, then is there any way that will tell me that Database1 is having access to Database2 using the DBLink1...like wise?
    Please Guide-
    Thanks in advance!
    -Abhijit.

    Thanks Martijn,
    It seems the views specified in the link you provided provide the information of DBLinks that have been defined at the local database.
    But, I want to know which remote DBs are accessing my local DB using DBLinks?
    Pls Guide.

  • Getting itunes songs to play in working timeline

    Howdy all. I'm new to final cut express but am learning a lot. I'm frustrated by my initial attempts to layer itunes audio though. I can get the tunes from my library to my working browser...and from there I drag it into my working timeline. However, when I click "play" all I hear is a recurrent beeping sound and not the music. After researching it I think I need to convert the track to an AIFF file, which I have tried to do. That's when I get a message saying my songs cannot be converted to an AIFF. The songs are paid for and legally downloaded through itunes so I'm frustrated as to why this should be. Can someone help me to get my itunes songs into my working timeline so they play?
    Thanks!
    Jered

    Before people get all up in arms about copyright infringement and all, the iTunes agreement specifically allows you to use the audio Products for personal, noncommercial use. You are allowed to export, burn, or copy audio Products for personal non-commercial use. For iTunes plus content, you can copy, store, or burn these Products "as reasonably necessary" for personal, non-commercial use.
    Using an iTunes song in a video being created for personal non-commercial use appears to be allowed by the agreement.
    While we're on this subject, the original poster didn't ask us whether this was legal or not and it really has no bearing on solving their problem unless the problem is being caused by the digital rights management of iTunes. So, is the iTunes digital rights management preventing them from using an iTunes song or is it simply that it is an mp3 and needs to be rendered before it can be played in the sequence?
    I suggest rendering the audio track because I had to do the exact same thing just two days ago (with a non-iTunes mp3). I did not convert the mp3 to AIFF or to a WAV or anything else, but I did have to render it in order to hear anything but a bunch of beeps.

  • Copy an iTunes song using the Finder ?

    Hi List !
    Is it possible to copy an iTunes song in a given folder with Automator ? The iTunes action Get iTunes Item (not sure of the name, I use the french version of Tiger) return iTunes Items, not iTunes Songs !
    And the Finder action Copy...only accepts Files/Folders (and iTunes Songs), not iTunes Items.
    Is there a way to do this ?

    OK, I suppose this is not possible. I've made an automator action that does that but I still find it strange that standard actions can't achieve this...

  • Slideshow preset does not display iTunes songs

    Macbook pro with OS X Yosemite Version 10.10
    Aperture 3.5.1
    slideshow preset does not display list of itunes songs for music to accompany slide show (it did use to do this perfectly satisfactorily). Clicking to open itunes does not help.
    Itunes 12.0.0.140

    Graham, the songs that are only in iCloud will show with a cloud icon with a download link.  Click this link to download the song to your mac. It will stay in iCloud as well.  But the local copy should show in iPhoto.  In the example below, the song "Crying in the Rain" does show in iPhoto, because it has been downloaded, but the other songs do not.

  • ITunes not finding music files

    iTunes cannot find 90%+ of my music files. I manually linked them together over the last weekend (yucch) and today when I went into iTunes, the links were all broken even though the .mp3 files were in the same directories as before. I can manually find the music files but that's a chore, particularly if I have to do it several times (not!). Any suggestions?
    Inspiron 6000   Windows XP

    Well, you have a couple options. First shut down iTunes. Then unmount your HD. Then mount your external HD again, then after it pops up on your desktop, launch iTunes. Any files iTunes has that points to your ext. HD should play just fine.
    Or, you can copy all your music to your ext. HD (if you don't already have it there), and simply delete your iTunes library (by removing your data files). You could then add to library, making sure you uncheck "copy itunes songs to music folder). This way, iTunes will only "point" to your ext. drive to play the music. If the drive isn't on, you don't get any music, and the "!" sign. If you have many playlists, this can be tricky.
    As a rule, I don't go crazy with playlists, other than smart playlists. This way, you don't go nuts when you lose your data file, or want to do a clean update of your library. You'd be surprised at the times I thought I kept my library in tip-top shape, only to delete it and add the music again. I often find a song or two that I had hidden somewhere.
