Is it possible to load saved audiofiles into a new multitrack project?

Hi
Is it possible to load pre-saved audiofiles (from previous version of a multitrack project) into a new multitrack project which includes the exact-same clips used for the pre-saved audiofiles?
I'm tempted to experiment but am afraid of adversely affecting my pre-saved audiofiles. Any tips would be really appreciated.

Well, since as things stand I can't get 'conform' to work (but hopefully it will once I install Snow Leopard and the new FCS3) I'm trying to come up with a 'workaround' to my problem.
Say, I have my multitrack project which had been sent from Final Cut 6.
Nightmare of nightmares, I realise that I need to change some aspects of my picture edit.
Conform doesn't work for me in STP2. So, as a workaround, instead I ensure that all of my audiofiles are saved (your 'save as...and collect media' suggestion).
I make some changes to my picture edit to make the video shorter.
I now need to resend my changed-picture-edit FCP6 sequence to STP2 afresh as a new multitrack project.
Now in STP2 I will be looking at my new multitrack project, which matches my updated FCP6-changed sequence.
Ahhh, as I write this I think I'm figuring it out...
My idea is to open the previously saved 'longer' multitrack edit in addition to my current 'newer' multitrack project, and then manually copy over the matching-duration 'pre-saved' audiofiles (that already have effects applied such as reduce noise) into my new multitrack project.
In other words, I will replace the exact-same clips in the new multitrack project with the clips from the old multitrack project which have effects applied on them.
I think I may have answered my own question :o) Does this sound feasible do you think?
Hopefully this will only be a stopgap workaround until I do a fresh install of Snow Leopard and FCS3, when hopefully the Conform feature of STP will be error-free for me.

I want to import an MP3 or any garageband compatible file into a new garageband project. I am using existing learn to play tracks and I create a guitar track to play along but I would like to import other external tracks. Suggestions please.

Hello everyone!
Im using Dreamweaver CS3. I have a website thats all image based - which is not good because google or any search engine cant really pick up any keywords. So I have a table filled with images, Id like to take an image in the center out, and put in some type of code that says "load blah.html into the current row and collumn of this table. I attached an image of what I mean.
Id like to do this because it will be easier for me to update 1 html file and have it load that into the master html file. Is this even possible?

Easy enough to see how it's done, I've provided the code :-)
You can set up the scrolling div in the table cell and then use an include file to populate the text into that div... that way,, you can make changes to the include file and it will be updated automatically on the page.
Here's a quick and easy article on creating server side includes (SSI). Use this to create your 'include file' that goes into that scrolling div.

Is it possible to load a PDF into the ipad Photos app?

I deal with documents that then have to be sent to a specific site that only accepts .doc, .docx, pdf.
I can't e-mail them, because the site must access iPad so that the documents are correctly received and accounted for.
That site can only access the iPad's Photos, nowhere else.
Is it possible to load one of these three formats into the ipad Photos app?

Loading ipod stuff into a new library??

Is it possible to load stuff on my ipod nano into a new library? I cannot access my library that is in sync with what is currently on my ipod because my computer that the library is on is not working. I have a new computer that Ive hooked my ipod nano into and it is telling me I will have to erase everything on the ipod to sync it with the new library on my new computer. Is it possible to take what is currently on my nano and transfer it to the new library on my new computer and then reload them back to the nano? Or will I just have to erase everything on my nano sync it to the new library on the new computer? Thanks so much for any assistance! (Computer is running on Windows XP Pro.)

Connect your iPod to your computer. When you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

Is it possible to make a submenu into a new project?

I spend a good deal of time making a submenu thinking I would put everything one one DVD but I decided I want to just make it its own DVD. If not it's not a big deal to recreate it, however it included a slideshow. If I can't make the whole submenu and its contents into a new project, can I at least use the slideshow I made in a new project? How would I do that?

1 - Duplicate the iDVD project file.
2 - open the duplicate, gto to the main menu and delete everything except the link to the submenu.
3 - go to the submenu and copy each item, one at a time, and paste it into the main menu.
4 - once you have all items pasted in the main menu be sure to play them to verify they work as they should.
5 - delete the link to the submenu from the main menu.
That should get you what you want.
NOTE: the order that the items from the sub menu are added to the main menu will set the order in which they are selected when using the DVD player's remote device.

You can do this, but you would have to import the finalized video into an Event first.
You can find the finalized video by going to your Project in the Finder in the Movies/iMovie Projects folder. Right click on the project and select Show Package Contents. Your finalized video will be in the Movies folder of the package. Right-click on the movie and select COPY.
Then right click on your desktop and Paste it to your desktop.
Finally, in iMovie, use FILE/IMPORT MOVIE.../ and navigate to the file on your desktop. After you import it, you can use it in iMOvie..

If you actually want to load the pictures from the files while the program is running, you can use the picture VIs (found in the Graphics & Sound palette). They let you load a picture from a file, place it into a container and play around with it. You can easily load 2 pictures and overlay them
but you will have to know how to this properly. There are probably some examples in the example finder.

The music becomes shuffled with the stories. I don't want to have to download audiobooks I've already got on cd from itunes. Is it possible to separate music from books?

Flex 4 - is it possible to load xml data into the preloader and pass it to the application?

or is there a similar method to load XML data while the preloader is active, so the XML data will be ready when the main application loads?

i'm having great difficulty finding any relevant info from the forum and the web about accessing preloader variables from the application.
is there a way to access the preloader itself from the application?
It seems logical that the systemManager garbage collects it. If that's the case, how can i access the systemManager from the preloader and possible pass variables to it, then later access them from the application? this seems to be the best direction to tackle this problem. but maybe i'm overlooking another way?

You can use an iPhone as a personal hotspot (if your carrier supports it), or get a mifi device and use that as a mobile hotspot for it - the iPad will see them as wifi networks.

Load dynamic text into Captivate form external file

Is it possible to load dynamic text into a Captivate file from an external file like an XML using Javascript.
I see there's a way to get it form the query scring of the URL ( http://captivatedev.com/2011/05/01/how-to-jump-to-a-specific-slide-in-a-separate-course/ ), but I have a project where I want several pieces of text to be replaced and we want to be able to edit it externally from the Captivate file.

What I'm doing is using a yahoo map to load addresses and
place custom swf files as the placemarkers. The main stage has an
instance of myMap, which is the map that yahoo sets us to display
the ACTUAL map. They have also provided coding for placing markers
on the map, which is what I'm using.
I have the addresses throughout multiple xml files, which I
am actually loading through 1 single xml file. These addresses are
being stored in an array, then called by the AS below to place
markers. All the markers are placed correctly, however, I am trying
to have them actually say the address - this is where the problem
lies.
The marker that is being located and placed has a text field
called load_text in it. I want that field to load the same address
that is being used to place it (from the array addressA).
I'm very confused because every loop through the * for (i=0;
i<addressA.length; i++) * loop the marker is placed at the
correct addressA
location, but I cannot actually get the address to load into the
load_txt field in the marker. I can even run a trace during that
loop and it traces addressA for each address, but I can't seem
to actually load those values into the load_txt box.
Do you have any ideas?

Load swf directly into Captivate 5.5?

How can I load swf files directly into Captivate 5.5 during runtime?
I do not wish to have one single large Captivate file. Rather, I wish to create multiple small swf files and load them into Captivate as needed.
I do this all the time in Flash, however,is this possible to load external swf into Captivate?

You can select the option to externalise resources such as animations and widgets (both SWF files) in Project Preferences.

Is it possible to load rt.jar?

Hi! I need some classes found in JDK 1.3.1, is it possible to load rt.jar into Oracle 9i? I've tried with but there are lots of errors (I've even decompressed and zipped it again since I was told it could help). Any ideas?

Which classes are you looking for inside rt.jar?
Oracle 9i is shipped with JDK 1.3.1 complaint JVM, so the standard JDK is already loaded into SYS's schema.
Before uploading any class in SYS first check if doesn't exist.
You can find any particular class by using (logged as SYS):
SELECT dbms_java.longname(object_name) cName
FROM user_objects
WHERE object_type = 'JAVA CLASS' AND status = 'VALID'
AND dbms_java.longname(object_name) like 'javax/sql/%';
If you upload classes which where created during OJVM installation may be you can break the DB or get inconsistent results.
Missing classes can be uploaded extracting the rt.jar in an empty directory, copying only the missing classes and creating a new rt-missing.jar file.
